I personally would take Beckford back in the blink of an eye. He's got pace, skill and as we all know a hell of an eye for goal. I don't understand what people mean when they describe previous players as "history" and tells everyone that we need to "move on". At the end of the day if they're the right player for the club, ex-player or not, then we should consider bringing them to the club.

I would take both the Bec's back. proven goalscoring partnership, and that's what we're severely lacking right now.

Agree0 Disagree0

If beckford had the exact same record as he has for us at Peterborough or Charlton we wouldn't mention him. MOVE ON

15 goals last season for Leicester
8 this season, which is more than McCormack and Diouf
He was also Evertons leading scorer in his one season there. Not exactly the worst, all those who claim he's not good enough are bitter that he left!

Agree0 Disagree0

I would bring beckford back next season, based on the fact that with the two wingers brian says he will be getting he will get as good service as he did with gradel. I would not have brought him back this season because he would not have got any service and I doubt he would create his own chances. He hasn't done that at huddersfield. All we need is an out and out goalscorer which I think morison may well be, I know he missed sitters against sheffield Wednesday but other than that he hasn't had any service and when he has he's finished. I would still add a striker but I feel morison will shine with new wingers

Agree0 Disagree0

I am not bitter he left, he just is not good enough and as you said 8 goals this season wooow amazing
and you obviously don't watch leeds that offten as most of the season dioufe and mccormack have been played out wide so your silly argument stinks.

Agree0 Disagree0

He has a hell of an eye for goal he says (original poster), omg, get the f over him, do you not remember he used to score the odd semi-spectacular goal but missed many of the rest?

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm not bitter that he left, but, once again, ffs move on. there are better out there. and McCormack and diouf aren't front line strikers, they offer a lot more to the game, so how about supporting the players we have and not those that have left

I agree stop going on about Beckford, let's move on. New manager new season. We will be starting again. Warnock left us with a his old crocks. BMD has to start again, he talks very positively and I for one am hopeful. Hope he is brave enough to use give some of the youngsters give them a chance as O'leary did when he came in at least they will have played together and may have some loyalty to the club. As I don't believe GFH have any money to invest in the team or are going to have. Finally, I hope that BMD give Somma the opportunity in the last couple of games. If you look at his record of goals to games ration its far better than any of the other strikers we currently have. Go on Brian give him a go.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Do you pay attention to Leeds rumours? Somma is having surgery again, won't be playing this season and out of contract in june, probably won't ever see him run out for us again

Unfortunately Somma now needs yet another operation on the original cruciate injury and with his contract up in the summer I have to admit with a heavy heart that he should not be kept on. It is a massive shame for him and I for one would have loved to have seen him start every game but I think we now have to accept he is never going to be the player he was.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah go on brian give him a go, after he recovers from doing his cruciate ligament in again, which they seem to think might take a year or so! I feel its better to end his contract and say goodbye, no need for anyone with injury woes!

find it incredible that you aren't aware that Somma had another operation yesterday and won't play again this season. McD announced this after yesterdays game at his press conference and it was widely reported. Now coming out of contract and unlikely to get another sadly. Please keep up!

Do you really know what you are talking about, he is going under the knife again and won't be available again for months. We don't need crocks and be honest that's what he is, he won't geta new contract in the summer, quite rightly so, we need players that can play every game. I don't care if he's the best player in the world, if he is a crock we can't carry him anymore.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd say to somma we won't offer you a contract but you can train with us and get fitness up and use facilities etc

Agree0 Disagree0

Ha look at all u fuys jumping down sumones neck for making a mistake I wasn't away he was having an operation just had herd bmd say he was injured again jeezo folks take it easy fs

With us safe I would try bringing some youth players in to get them used to playing in first team. I would also consider only getting rid of pugh, brown, rachubka and morison. I know some disagree but I think the rest could be squad and cover players.

I agree, I think it is time for a choice few to join first team training on a regular basis. Simon Lenighan, Chris Dawson, Ross Killock, Charlie Taylor, maybe the Turner's and possibly a few more if they are ready, if not this season, certainly in pre season training with a view to becoming regulars in the next year or two.

Its kind of a good thing we lost on Saturday as McDermott can get a better look at what's needed in the summer. Our defensive side doesn't seem to far away but we lack creativity in the final 3rd and someone that can finish. Need to get more really good chances to get promotion next season

It is never good to lose! I think BMD will have seen in the first half against Wednesday exactly what is needed. Also against burnley, we had most of the possession but only got 1 goal. Morison when fit and McCormack have proved they can score with the right service. 2 fast wingers will transform this team.

If wolves and Bristol city go down we should consider going in for;

Sako - wolves
Adomah - Bristol
Baldock - Bristol

I could definitely see Alex Pearce and Noel Hunt coming in from Reading. Add a CM and 2 wingers to that and we shouldn't be far away. Chris Burke, Hunt maybe or it could be someone we haven't heard of yet. In terms of departures, the five out of contract will go, but in addition I would move on Norris, Habibou won't be kept on, Brown and possibly Tonge. I think Morison should be given another season as he wasn't fit when he arrived and he has a good record in this division.

Kevin Doyle for a free

" I think Morison should be given another season as he wasn't fit when he arrived "

So why de we swap a perfectly good healthy scoring striker for him then?

I really hope if we start really good next season the fans flood in. Want an Average of 25k+. We need to support the team as much as we can. I understand prices and stuff. I also understand that if we don't play good no one will want to pay to watch some of the crap like this year. So next season IF we play good and like brain says we should, (Also top 2 contenders) I believe we should match the amount of fans we got the first year back in the championship (27,000 average) its a lot to ask and a near impossible dream but can u imagine 27k leeds fans belting out chants while we sit 6 points clear? If all of us pull together we should walk this league. I'm not expecting this first game back but if we do pull of into top 4, we really should back the club as much as we can

Next season's looking promising.
"'Dermott take us up, 'Dermott, 'Dermott take us up. "

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Well I feel optimistic about next season so I have got my season ticket. let's hope he brings in some good quality players and boots out the rubbish.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well next season will prove we have nearly as many armchair fans as anyone else in the championship if they don't come back.

As they have no excuse with Bates or Warnock or pricing as that has dropped considerably. Time will tell, all I can say is I agree with you. I have been so embarrassed this season to be a Leeds fan (with the exception of the Man City game), not because of performances so much, but because I didn't enjoy going to ER it was quiet negative and empty. That is what embarrassed me, before this season I thought we had the best fans in the world, at times this season I found myself laughing at how wrong I was.

Agree0 Disagree0

"As they have no excuse with Bates "

Have I missed something then? Is he leaving the club after all then?

Agree0 Disagree0

I think it is great that Warnock has gone, but Bates has not. The ownership of our club is still a sordid mess and until that is sorted no manager is going to bring us up. Everything that is being done at the moment is to sell more season tickets for next year and to line Bates' pockets to the maximum possible. GFH are just a front for Bates to move his money around and to appear to be not in control.

Agree0 Disagree0

Anybody who feels that Bates has done ANYTHING worthy of becoming President of our great club must be a bit blind?

The good news is that we're safe from relegation and can properly concentrate on the next season knowing we don't have to look behind us :)

Believable0 Unbelievable0

It was close for a little while there. I'll admit I lost faith at one point.

It's true what people say the grass isn't always greener on the other side, becchio not even on bench today for Norwich. agents are the people who ruin footballers and need to be stopped, I just wonder how much influence his agent had in him leaving, it was the same with beckford now if you ask him now if he was glad he left the answer would be no, itsthere agents who turn there heads and in becchios case I bet he had listened to his heart instead of his agent.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Its still £25,000 a week
