Can anyone enlighten me on what the Financial fair play rules are for next season. Are we going to be able to sign any of the loan players to permanent deals if we have to pay transfer fees?

{Ed003's Note - Owner's are allowed to put more of their own money in from next year - regarding Leed's position it will be assessed during the summer but the finances will have to show serious improvement for the embargo to be lifted G.}

20 Mar 2015 22:20:40
For this year (14/15) it's £6m loss with owners putting in £3m and for the following season it's £3m loss with owners putting in up to £15m. I'm not sure if the embargo will be removed in the summer as accounts aren't announced until November.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed003's Note - Cheers SG I'd forgot the exact amounts, the predicted accounts for year ending May 2015(the ones made public in Nov/Dec) are the ones the FL will use to judge any movements on an embargo as I understand it.}

I wish Russell Crowe would go away He is not what we need. It is one thing funding an Ozzy RL team and a totally different challenge backing a Championship/Premiership team. Extra zeroes needed on every cheque. What we need is a benign billionare with commitment. can't think of one at the minute but I am sure there must be a few about.
How about Virgin Leeds?
Or surely we cannot find the only Middle Eastern Arabs with no money - again. Get Umbers an airpass round Arabia and do not let him back without a blank cheque in his pocket.

I agree Leodis. The guy is worth what £50m? Decent enough money to own your local cost cutter but that's peanuts for a football club, even one like Fulham! Harry (Trotter) Redknapp would spend that in one afternoon!

MM, Crowe will be worth closer to 200M. I would welcome him once he becomes a billionaire.

Russell Crowe owns the Aussie rugby team with James packer. He's was only worth 6.6 billion dollars in 2014. Not a bad business partner to have!

To all below
If you're defenders defend
You're midfielders. Defend. Marshall. Supply and score every now and then
Why would you want a striker not to strike
I'm getting a bit fed up with this
We haven't got two strikers who take turns
We haven't got two strikers capable of getting us promotion
We have every very rarely a striker that strikes
It is not good enough. Mowatt etc etc can't do it most of the time
So. We win. We are mostly lucky. Have a look at how many we deserve??
Get real. Dump the lot. Except ant. For Christ sake. Man up. The rest are crap.

Can't really disagree with that. Let's just hope we can find a twenty plus a season goalscorer who will sign for us next season. The trouble is will Cellino pay the kind of salary that kind of player demands. Unless we can find one that no one else knows about or we already have one in the academy.

So you want McCormack back then?

Only if he would guarantee to score us 29 goals again next season.
I'd even let him kiss my badge if he did that! :)

agree but think sharpe has done ok, minutes per goal is ok and he has played out wide a lot, when up front he has done well and scored a few. morrision has to go and think ant is greatplayer he will do well next season

we all have points of views some different some the same . rm left yes great price but why because of manager hockaday questioned mc had barney put phone down so gone history also young sam felt the same way and at one point wanted to leave lucky for us he's still here
. on a web site it said morison blamed the other players for darko getting the sack so is he an Charlie brown nose that's polite .
lot of players in and out this year and I would imagine more during summer . I hope that if nr get job he as say in who we sign not mc the only worry is do other players outside leeds know him well enough as manager and this might stop them signing .
but the long and short of things is NEXT YEAR IS A YEAR TO LOOK FORWARD TOO . WE NOW HAVE SOME GOOD THINGS TO TAKE AWAY FROM THE START OF YEAR AND SOMETHING BIG TO BUILD FROM NEXT SEASON

Agree mate. So
A. We should do better with reddders in charge next season. Than we did. This
B. Mc should stay well out of it or supply a steady turnover of players until reddders chooses what is needed!
C. Morr goals

Well, said it a long time ago and believe it totally, Redders is The Man for the job. But he could not do it on his own, now the dream team of Redders and Thompson are going to fly us high, given a chance of course! Wish the ownership doubts, contracts etc could be sorted asap, MOT

I'm glad for Cook and Mowatt getting the England youth caps. At first I thought them and Byram all deserve u21 football with England until I checked the team. I feel Byram is unlucky with the inclusion of Luke Chambers and John Stones in the u21 and not senior team is keeping him out. Cook will get his chance with u21 and it will be interesting to see if Mowatt decides to play for Scotland or continues with England.

Maybe we should try sign Joe garner from preston . Near 20 goals this year. Scored a fair few with his head, left foot and predominantly his right. Only around 26 years of age so has a lot to to prove still

well kababman look at what I said now here are the facts matt smith sold for what £500k he played last year scores GOALS and this year scoring GOALS . donkey morison was loaned out last year why not needed and rubbish this year he as start to get games what a goal scoring machine ZERO . so I then said NR SIAD MATT WAS A HANDFUL and he then said on another a day he could of scored a couple . so I questioned who should of been sold my view morison and keeped matt he's young so should get better morison at end of career and the fact speak for themselves one scoring one hitting the corner flag . so you think morison is great must be his mother we have left out ant because we change style and brought in morison who doesn't look like he would ever score my be penalty time to get rid give one of kids a chance etc morison no way no goals no play now he as had a really good run in team but no goals so time to say no more .yes it would be good if he scored ever other game but it is not going to happen so KEBABMAN I want us to ein 3/4 nil ever game but also want to see team get better morison is not the way ok . you have to see it as it is leeds 3-1 saturday

i think most leeds fans agree selling smith for 500k was poor. the lad was good in first season for us and has done well this year also. I hink everyone would agree he is better than morrision altough maybe morrisionhelps the team out more. however I am not sure matt smith went for 500k it don't make sense to sell ross for 12m and smith for 500k when we 'didnt need to sell' I think fulham brought both of them for 12.5m as a joint bid and MC pu a clase in saying they would leave atslightly different times to make leeds fans not kick up so mch. clever man (MC that is)

Not sure I have ever said Morison is great, what I did say is for you to quit moaning! You moan when we win lose or draw!
With regards to Matt Smith, I wasn't happy when we sold him, I think he is worth more than £500k and would do a great job for us if he was still there.
As for Morison, his record is shocking and based on that doesn't deserve to start, but what he has offered is helping Redders system which is getting results.
I for one would be more than happy to have a striker who doesn't score but we win every game than having a striker who does score at the expense of winning games.
It's more than just about the striker, it's a team effort!
Just my opinion though

cant argue with kebab mans logic, I agree if we have a striker who don't score but we win every game that suits me fine. Next year I would be happy with morrison to play every game score no goals and we go up. I also agree while we are winning how canpeople moan, our resuls have been good so pack in your moaning we are doing better than most expected

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Mar 2015 13:15:02
it's called having dead wood in a team and carrying a player and does it improve us he didn't play against Fulham from start one is not moaning one is looking for a better team better players and win with style not have someone who is rubbish how many games and if one is honest he will never score yes we should be up near the top but we have play this season no striker to be honest mind you if ant had played more he might have 20 by now morison zero . as for matt that was my point if you read it NR said he was handful is morison and a striker who doesn't score isn't a striker

Agree1 Disagree0

20 Mar 2015 14:27:45
If Smith was still here, he'd be nowhere near first choice and we wouldn't be able to play 4-2-3-1 if he was. Morison offers much more and he can defend too, whereas Smith is just a beanpole suited for hoofball. Morison has scored at PL level and played international football, Smith has not and his shooting was dreadful on Wednesday. The fact is we're in a better position without him.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Mar 2015 18:41:55
I don't disagree with anything that's been said here. The thing is that Morisson has never been a prolific scorer. He's usually played as more of a second string to the main striker. So, it's not all his fault. I think we're all agreed that he needs to be replaced for next season, the question is who by? I haven't seen enough of our strikers to have an opinion, but I rather suspect that we don't have the ideal striker for this division in the current squad.

I'm not sure that there is anybody around at the moment in this division or below who would fill that role on a permanent basis. So, do we look at a loan signing from a premier league team? I haven't seen anyone on loan to other championship clubs who have it either. Not sure that Bamford is a premier league player, and if we're going to buy then that's the calibre of player we should be looking for.

morison prem yes Norwich cost 2.8 million from millwall from Stevenage from bishop storford from Northampton how many games in prem 30 so not even one season so not that great . he did score 30 goals for Stevenage but conference . I think he thinks he is better than the other and that could be the problem to me he doesn't try as hard means he's lazy anyway end of morison just hope he's gone next season but will he go when on good wage???? no he'll want to stay age against him 31 and last chance to earn any way looking forward to good win tomorrow 3-1 . ant mowatt plus one sharp mybe

Look guys, I know there is divided opinion over Morison & how if it ain't broke don't fix it. However that's fine for the rest of this season & like you am not too fussed about him playing out the season as we have consolidated our championship status. BUT for next season we have to hit the ground running as I think if we add a few players to our squad such as wingers, midfielders & a decent striker then we should do well. It's our best chance since Grayson had the likes of gradel, beckford etc. So no more mis-firing Morison for me, he ain't good enough. We need a Bamford or a deeney and a gradel. No more has beens or nearly men but proper quality footballers to accompany our cooks, Mowatt, Byram etc. We have to go for it next year surely or else it will be very short-sighted by our owners.
