Come on bates get some money spent that is at least what us leeds fans deserve a bit of loyalty like what we have given the club for many years best supported club in the country and dont u forget it marching on together

Believable1 Unbelievable1

And don't YOU forget, without Bates's money we wouldn't have a team to be marching on together for

Agree0 Disagree0

And without thousands of loyal fans spending hard earned cash on tickets, shirts ect. . . . throughout hard times in the economy there wouldnt b a leeds either We give alot to the club aswell .

Agree0 Disagree0

Granted Bates steped in. But had Pappa smurf not steped in some other business man would have done so.
bates is not the be all and end all, we need some youth injecting into the ownership.

You are yeat another pessimist?

Lets wait and see if it happens first shall we?

Do you worry about getting to work in the mornuings, or whether the water supply will be on, or the gas or electric, or what?

Lets wait for a problem to happen shall we??

Agree0 Disagree0

I predict a riot...lol

When Leeds get promoted WITHOUT you pessimists

Agree0 Disagree0

A week ago the wally in the brolly backed by the second tightest board in CCC pro rata said they needed to sign 8 players, at this point I thought not too bad that we desperately need to sign 4/5 ourselves. Since then they have signed Greening , Moussi and close to signing Boateng who is the equivalent of Brown. Since then we have lost Snodgrass , Bechio, O'Brien Somma to medium to long term injuries and Kisnorbo and Parker recovering from career threatening injuries.SD is a great manager for boards with minimal budgets and I believe he loves LUFC. Anyone else think KB

Agree0 Disagree0

You Mupet, you don't wait for forseable problems, you try and deal with things os you don't get problems.
we need to spend end of. oh and i'm not talking 20/30mil but if we spent around 5m we would have challenged this season.

Gradel is going no where hes happy at leeds and wants to play in the prem with leeds no 1 else so all these rumours are a load of bull he will sign a new deal wait and see. why is ever 1 on this site so optimistic.lets get behind leeds what ever signings we make they will always have there 12th man thats us the fans lets stop having a go at kb sg and see what this season brings.

Believable2 Unbelievable3

What signings a useless defence no midfield and now no strikers well done Bates nice one division 1 here we come

Agree0 Disagree0

Might have escaped your notice but we are Leeds, we have faith, and you need to go and support Scumchester or Chelski.....

Or maybe your local school team or whatever as you obviously aren't a Leeds supproter?

Why kick the team before the season even starts?

3 friendlies played, 3 wins, 3 clean sheets and a dozen 'new' players already in the team so far...

Go do one

Agree0 Disagree0

Didn't we beat Motherwell 2-1.....? so not 3 clean sheets, nice rant, bad facts.

Agree0 Disagree0

We may have beaten motherwell, but you can't base our league status on friendlies. motherwell will have been told not to over do it, it's only a training exercise as they would not have wanted to pick up any injury's
we will soon see how good we are when we start playing in the league

Not so much as rumour but I feel it my duty to tell everyone. Leeds financial situation is dire I work security at Elland Road and just found out by eavesdropping a directors meeting 50-70% staff at all levels are being let go am absolutely gutted. So I take it from this we have no money to sign anyone of a decent standard and as for holding Gradel and Snodgrass i'm afraid the wages just ain't there. What a day, jobless and my beloved Leeds set for another season of heartache.

I have full belief in Grayson, but I am worried that he is stating we do not need to bring in a replacement for Becchio and Somma,

I know Paynter puts in an honest shift and Mccormack had a good end to last season but are they good enough to give us a good start,

Somma could be out all season?

I think at the least we need an out and out striker bringing in on loan.

maybe an option when the premier league squad lists are released.

FFS Why don't you all get of SG and KB's back and start appreciating tat we actually have a football team to support, and one that is moving in the right direction for a change??

I am sick of hearing that someone's leaving, someones joining, somene's picking his nose, and whatever.

We have NOT lost targets or missed signings, the only thing we know for SURE - FACT - is that Lee Bowyer passed us up on family grounds?

Like SG says, we could have signed players up (and according to people on here there must be around a hundred of them at least) but would they have improved our squad enough to risk future financial problems again?

We 'found' Beckford, we 'found' Bechio, we 'rescued' Gradel, we 'found' Nunez and we even got Schmeicel for nothing?

We now have one or two additions who have experience, which is what we need, and we have our own proven youngsters coming back from loan.

Look at what we produced in the past, Delph, Milner, Smith, etc, etc?

Lets support Leeds and get behind SG and KB and stop keep knocking the crap out of them before a ball is even kicked in the Championship??

I have supported Leeds for over 40 years now and will do this year, next year, and till I die - these players and any you may think will or wont sign will be long gone (hopefully) by then.....

Think of Billy (and I don't mean Paynter or Sharp) and think of what we CAN achieve, with the right attitudes and support, not what money can or can't buy

MOT forever - Leeds4alongtime

Believable11 Unbelievable4

Excellent post :-)

I started supporting Leeds when a "new" manager called Don got us out of the second division with a "mis-matched" band of "brothers" I believed then & I still do.

Thank god for the above post - any player wanting to put on a white shirt gets my vocal support at all times - to all the greedy bas#ards wanting huge wages forget it marching on together

I for one am quite excited about the players/squad we have playing at the moment, ok we may need another gk but we have talent insitu to set the championship on fire this season. Hoping to see Leeds get a keeper in soon, even though Rachubka has done well in pre-season.

With the case of Max Gradel, if wecan get he right amount for him then he should go rather than letting him go for nothing next year. I'd love for him to stay but I'm sure SG can find another unknown player and turn them into a star player. {Ed032's Note - we already have him - nunez

Believable3 Unbelievable4

Redbus wanted to buy us when we went into admin, but Bates got the club instead, thats why mp, s are looking into bates, BATES NOT OUR SAVIOUR, WE HAVE A CLUB INSPITE OF BATES NOT BECAUSE OF HIM

Agree0 Disagree0

Anyone who has short memories should read on. There were groups especially Redbus who offered to put much more in to the club to invest in the club, this is why they failed and KB got to keep our beloved club-
Leeds were relegated in May 2004. All the star players were sold and then, to bring in firefighting money, so was Elland Road, and the Thorp Arch training ground. Still, the club was shipping money, so in January 2005 Krasner and his consortium were introduced to Bates.

He was 73 by then, had famously bought a heavily indebted Chelsea for £1 in 1982 and in 2003 sold a heavily indebted Chelsea to Roman Abramovich for £59m, coming away with £17m himself. Yet Leeds fans who hoped Bates fortune and experience would send the club back to prominence were crestfallen when, on May 4 2007, Bates put the club into administration, its debts calculated by administrator KPMG in Leeds at £38m.

Many in football, and HMRC, who were owed £7.7m in unpaid tax and VAT, were outraged KPMG agreed a pre-pack to sell the club back to its owner, the offshore company Forward Sports Fund, of whom Bates was described as the UK representative, for 1p in the pound.

The company voluntary arrangement agreeing to this sale was passed, by just 0.2 per cent above the required 75 per cent of creditors. A large part of the total debt £18m, or 45 per cent was owed to three offshore companies: Forward, registered in the Cayman Islands; Astor Investment Holdings, registered in the British Virgin Islands; and Krato Trust, incorporated on Nevis Island in the West Indies.

For a CVA to go through where there are significant creditors connected by ownership to the company, or its directors, a second vote has to be taken in which the CVA has to be approved by more than 50 per cent of the non-connected creditors. Astor and Krato favoured the CVA and KPMG stated that both were not connected creditors, so no second vote had to be held.

HMRC mounted a legal challenge, and KPMG terminated the CVA and held an auction to sell the club.
The competition faced a severe disadvantage: Astor and Krato, although they had no connection with Bates or Forward, expressed a preference for the club to be bought by Bates bid.

The offshore vehicles were prepared to write their debts off in full if the club was sold to Bates.
If it was sold to another bidder, Astor and Krato s debts would have to be included in the total to be paid off.

That resulted in three bids, all offering more money on the assumption that Leeds would rejoin the Football League, losing out to Bates bid.

With the £18m owed to Astor, and Krato and Forward having to be accommodated by the rival bids but not the one by Bates, his £1.8m offer had to pay only £11.4m of creditors, while the other bidders had to deal with £29.4m of creditors.

Asked why the offshore investors would do this, write off their millions so a club that had collapsed into insolvency, to which they had no connection, should remain owned by the outfit that owed them all the money, Taylor said they believed Bates, and chief executive Shaun Harvey, had the experience to get Leeds back to health.

Krasner, who protested throughout, pointed out in a creditors meeting that Leeds 2006 accounts had stated that Astor did have an interest in the Forward Sports Fund. Taylor said then that he had been to Guernsey, and the connection had been severed.

That was all the public knew of the offshore ownership, until revelations in a legal action Bates has brought in Jersey against a company, AdMatch, he claimed owed the club £190, 400. Robert Weston, AdMatch s owner, claimed this should be set off against £1.43m another of his companies was owed, and asked questions of the Leeds United companies.

It emerged that Forward Sports Fund had two management shares one owned by Bates, the other by Patrick Murrin, his associate and former director at Chelsea. This, Taylor explained, meant Murrin and Bates jointly owned Forward, and Leeds.

Of Forward s ownership, Leeds United s Jersey solicitors said: One share was initially held by Astor Investment Holdings Limited... Astor Investments then instructed professional agents to incorporate Forward Sports Fund, and Astor Investments proceeded to loan money to Forward Sports Fund to undertake its investment in Leeds.

Agree0 Disagree0

...and of course we'd have been much better off with Redbus. Redbus' bid was a joint bid with Simon Morris, a man whos business dealings make KB look like a saint by comparison. He went bankrupt in 2008 to the tune of £50m had his assets seized, was investigated by the serious fraud squad and was a major stakeholder in the consortium that sold the club to papa smurf in the first place

Agree0 Disagree0

The problem is some believe bates lies, ie, bates himself said a few weeks ago that he didn't know who owned leed, he just work for them as chairman, [am i right?]then when mp's started putting pressure on the club, bates comes out and says he has brought fsf and inturn brought leeds, so which is it?if he as we all suspect that he has owned leeds from the start, then why lie?, which ever way bates misleads everyone including and most importantly the fans, so this is the the owner we should all back, lol never, leeds til i die but bates no way

Sg has stated that 'firepower' is not his priority. I would aagree with him up to a point. We need defensive midfield and the back four strengthing. That is a priority but with Becchio and Somma out of the reckoning we are short. I hope he is playing his cards close to his chest. He keeps mentioning Paynter as part of a potent strike force. Granted he is the only only one with the physical presence to Lead the line but other than that he is very poor. I hope to see him go and be replaced with someone who can pressurise defences, bring others into the game and score goals. Paynter is woeful. Nunez. McCormack, Gradel are good but not doing that job. Hope he has something in mind for the Short, Medium and long term that doesn't include Billy no goals(and no clue).

We all know how injured players take double the time to recover from injuries at Leeds. a Striker is now priority, over Keeper. Rachubka will do, and the lad Cairns looks like he can do a job.

It looks like now Max Gradel wants to leave for the
PREMIER LEAGUE.Soon Snodgrass will follow suit. The
club in chaos with injuries mounting to the players.
Simon has his hands full. The players that Simon wants has been snapped up by other teams.Soon
Simon has no choice but resort to loan players again. The season have not even started and here we are facing all sort of difficulties. For the sake of
all the LEEDS fans out there Ken Bates please back
Simon up in getting the qualitiy players he request.
We do not seem to get the players we want and all we are getting is players that is over the hill or not
wanted by other clubs.I check the site every day,
no players come in but only players wishing to go out. A LEEDS fan.

Snoddy

Agree0 Disagree0

I can see alot of unrest in the dressing room
Especially the key players.
If quality came in, max, snoddy would be saying, yeah got a good chance of promotion
Its getting beyond a joke now
Not even one penny has been spent

Agree0 Disagree0

Glad you have posted this, most fans must be feeling a bit uncomfortable now, posted something similar last night and was told to change the record.

Agree0 Disagree0

Change the record ffs.

Agree0 Disagree0

Out of our attack from last year, 2 are long term injured, 1 is being offered out, and 1 is unsettled. worrying times indeed.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'LL KEEP PLAYING THE SAME RECORD TILL BATES/GRAYSON DO SOMETHING POSITIVE.

Agree0 Disagree0

Play whatever record you like, I'm happy to let Grayson manage the football club and leave clowns like you to forget how to turn their caps lock off.

Is all this stuff about gradel true. It was only last season when he said he was in debt to leeds for giving him a chance and he wanted to pay us back by getting us to the prem. Seems to have changed his tune quite a bit

Believable1 Unbelievable1

One word......"money"

Agree0 Disagree0

25k is alot of money. People should stop complaining.

Agree0 Disagree0

That's if he even really wants £25000 a week. People should use their brains a bit when it comes to paper talk.

Agree0 Disagree0

Another one word.........'agent'

Agree0 Disagree0

He could get a lot more money elsewhere..u can see the problem he has.

According to the mail on line as reported on the news now web site Max Gradel has demanded to leave the club amid interest from the premiere league, looks like another player jumping ship because of the poor wage structure at Leeds, Gradel is currently on £8.000 a week and his agent is demanding £25.000 per week, who's the next one in line to leave the club because we refuse to play the players a descent championship wage, I think bates and his board need to look at themselves and start putting some of the money into keeping a good playing staff because no matter how good the ground is if you don't have a successful side on the pitch you might as well play in the local park for what good it will do.

Believable3 Unbelievable2

25k isn't a decent championship wage It's a high championship wage. Football league teams don't earn nearly as much as the premier league. Most premier league teams' income is taken up by 80-90% wages. We don't want that at Leeds.

Agree0 Disagree0

Wish i was on 8k per week.

Agree0 Disagree0

Wish I was on 1 grand a week.

if we get jlloyd n osbourne thats left bk sortd n comp for centre mid, looks like sg has been pullin the strings, and why not try an unknown whoever it is, he must be good if they keeping that hush hush the commentators cant mention his name

Deakko

Ps hope this shuts everyone up now MOT

Believable5 Unbelievable3

Grow up - signing those two half wits won't shut us up as we deserve better

Agree0 Disagree0

Samuel, who I think woould be a good addition to the club, will never join on the wages he will be offered. He'll piss himself laughing and end up at QPR or Leicester.

Agree0 Disagree0

Loving the guy resorting to insults saying "grow up".

Agree0 Disagree0

He is awful just because he applauds the cop you think hes great. not a champoinship player

Agree0 Disagree0

I posted original comment and i would slag the management if certain players were sold but so far they haven't, who do u suggest we get in? who do we deserve??? seth johnson? robbie fowler?

Agree0 Disagree0

Based on our fanbase, stature and position we deserve players like Dunne, Wellbeck, Kranjcar, Rob Green - ie players who currently we can't even dream of. If Beast won't pay a transfer fee then why not pay 15k a week to top up the wage of a top player who can't get 1st team games at tottenham, villa, scum, city?
