Sources tell me Kisnorbo is going to brighton {Ed013's Note - Injured. unlucky them}

Believable3 Unbelievable2

GREAT,take it he will need a lift there?medical could be interesting

Agree1 Disagree0

Been on the sauce again.

Does anyone know if Delph & Robbie Rodgers will be playing tommorow {Ed013's Note - Delph is in the squad, but Rogers is not clear to play until he gets his International clearance next week}

Believable2 Unbelievable1

20 Jan 2012 22:50:05
Not a rumour but more a request for one - anyone heard any talk about us offloading Barn door? He should be back from Brighton now I think? {Ed013's Note - Sheff Wed interested, but so far no confirmed bids}

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Do give it a rest, Paynter and Rachubka will not play for us again, will you move on aswell ! we have some patetic fans.

Agree0 Disagree1

Banjo billy? I remember slagging him off when i found out he was in starting line up against arsenal. I was at the game, and my mate was sticking up for him saying he holds the ball up really well give him a chance!
His first touch of the game with his back towards goal, bounced off his club foot and went to arsenl player, who passed to nasri, who ran through the invisible defence and scored.
another funny story about billy banjo, i think it was the second half of the arsenal game actually, my mate had come round to my way of thinking, and as we were 4 rows from grayson, he shouted "grayson get paynter off he's a Sh*TE! 5 minutes later somma came on for bill, somma missed a sitter! so we all shouted, Grayson!! get paynter back on sommas sh*te!!
Leeds fans are great for comedy value.
Paynter for me is ten times worse than brolin. worst player ive seen in a leeds shirt, that and roque junior.

Agree2 Disagree0

Re first reply..The point was not how good or bad a player he is. There is more to worry about with our club than jumpimg on the band wagon and getting at Paynter, Rachubka etc... easy targets to comment on and acheive nothing.

Agree1 Disagree0

20 Jan 2012 22:23:47
Glad delph coming home. Shame howson forgot how much it meant to him to pull on the white shirt of leeds united. Mot

Believable3 Unbelievable3

Like delph did when he left?

Agree2 Disagree1

We got alot of money for delph and leeds couldn't turn that sort of money down. leeds had no choice really with howson unless they wanted to end up with no money for him

Agree2 Disagree0

What a silly first post? Howson's half way through a short career and wants to make something of his life. With the right coaching he has an outside chance of playing for England. In his position I'd do the same. We should be thanking him for changing the game which took us up 20 months or so ago not berating him for wanting to progress his career. FFS GROW UP!

Agree2 Disagree2

20 Jan 2012 22:17:26
Not sure on ins but clayton, snoddy, lees and white are all subject to bids. Snoddy is very unhappy with howsons sale and let a player revolt involving black armbands at training. This was one of the main reasons he has not been made captain. {Ed013's Note - Sounds a bit extreme, was you at Thorpe Arch?}

Believable0 Unbelievable2

Haha another clown, you have got to love a bit of bs. Needless to say this didn't happen!

Agree1 Disagree0

Black armbands in training lol,and they all just happened to have one in their kit bag at thorpe arch!

Agree0 Disagree0

I hope snoddy never gets to be captain as i believe it will take his mind off his game.

non-league striker stefan grant is set sign for leeds united on a free transfer. the pacey 17 year old has scored 14 goals in 11 games so far this season and has done enough to impress to scouting team at elland road, watch this space

Believable1 Unbelievable2

Are you Stefan Grant by any chance? and non-league doesn't mean 5 a side.

Agree0 Disagree0

This is the team that I would like to see tomorow:-
Lonergan
Thompson
Lees
O'dea
White
Snodgrass
Clayton
Delph
Townsend
Forssell
McCormack
Subs
Taylor,Bruce,Brown,Sam,Becchio
Anyone agree or disagree

Believable10 Unbelievable2

That team could win the league

Agree4 Disagree4

I will second that!! Superb team is that!! Let's get promoted and buy Fab back!!

Agree2 Disagree2

No GK on bench, i'de have Nunez for Forsell and Rogers for Townsend

Agree0 Disagree0

Maik taylor in goal? and rogers not got clearence? u a bradford fan by anychance ?

Agree0 Disagree0

^^^ taylor is the GK on the bench! Don't you know anything about this club?

Agree0 Disagree0

Where is graysons record signing pugh in that squad then?

Agree0 Disagree0

PUGH no good for bench?

Agree1 Disagree0

I think he meant he wouldn't bother putting a gk on bench and have nunez there instead.lol i think its a bit risky

Agree0 Disagree0

Get rid of Brown ,sounds OK.

Agree0 Disagree0

Brown an Pugh swapped and not a bad team for play offs but would get battered by every one in the prem including Norwich

im sick of trying to explain to my ten year old nephew to stay supporting leeds when we keep selling players in my opinion howson was ok in others crap but we all have are own opinion we have had a season ticket for 4 seasons now and he,s losing intrest because his hero,s keep getting sold f...king fed up {Ed013's Note - Make him believe that in the long run its better to be a real fan than a glory hunter and when his friends at school take the mickey and say Leeds are S**T then get him to agree, but say at least he attends games etc etc that's what I tell my son and 2 nieces that suffer the same!}

Believable4 Unbelievable1

Agree Ed plus success will be worth the pain {Ed013's Note - Exactly}

Agree2 Disagree0

I know the feeling, ever since I was a boy Leeds sold Jordan, McQueen, wow i was devastated.

Agree1 Disagree0

Wouldnt care if we were put in conferance i am never ashamed of being a leeds fan theres nothing that would change that, kids are cruel but any adult that lets there offspring support scum are more cruel MOT till the day i die.

Agree2 Disagree0

Thing is even when we got relegated to League 1 it was really upsetting but the season after I loved it, it was us against the world and was probably my favourite season since we left the Champions League...but now it just seems like there's no way forward.

Agree0 Disagree0

McQueen lived in the next street to me when he signed for Man U - some t*sser(s) 'decorated' his house with a few choice messages in black spray paint. Can't say I approved even back then as a teenager. Maybe you need to talk to your nephew about how being a football fan and being a professional footballer are two different things?

Can't speak for Jordan or Howson but McQueen was an approachable, decent guy who was always happy to kick a ball round with the local kids on a Sunday morning and stop to chat about football whilst walking his dog or washing his car. He didn't deserve the vitriol. He was a good servant for Leeds who left when he saw the writing on the wall - both metaphorically and literally....Sound familiar?

Agree1 Disagree0

20 Jan 2012 20:59:53
David Healy anyone?

Believable1 Unbelievable6

Has only scored 10 league goals since he left us in 2007, that speaks for itself.

Agree5 Disagree1

No thanks

Agree4 Disagree0

Get a grip,at least put a name forward we haven't had before, sick of all the has beens names getting banded about!

Agree0 Disagree0

I think we should steel martin when his loan deal runs out at palace

Agree1 Disagree0

20 Jan 2012 20:46:37
Just heard SGs spin on Jonnys departure, saying its the best deal for the club and he is ok with the deal and the money made will be invested in players. all total B/*^**&S, he is gutted and thats why he couldnt speak to press after game last weekend. He is between a rock and a hard place and I really feel for him. Some might say he should grow some and resign but he is a fan like me and you, would you resign from your dream ? Its all down to our owner not putting his money where his mouth is, if he had invested a few mill last Jan we would be in Prem now.. Bates is the problem not SG. Narich nicking lplayers off Leeds United FFS what is going on. I apologies if this text is a bit dis jointed but am a bit tiddly. Rant over MOT. {Ed013's Note - I mentioned the other day that we were here long before Mr Bates and will be long after. I hope SG is also as I would like to see him given a chance with a bigger wage budget and transfer funds}

Believable5 Unbelievable5

Howson had to be sold grayson was stuck nowhere

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Jan 2012 20:25:34
Close source from Snodgrass, sounds like his head has been turned by Leicester and is now keen, like many of the squad, to vacate Elland Road amongst the current problems.

Believable3 Unbelievable6

Stop posting rubbish..

Agree5 Disagree2

Hope he dose not go there

Can't be much wrong with our club if Pugh, delph, and Alex mccarthy are raving aBout what a great club it is.

Believable7 Unbelievable2

20 Jan 2012 19:17:43
Has anyone seen the Warnock interview on SSN today, its a good enough reason to not have him as manager.I don't think we could stomach his arrogance.

Believable6 Unbelievable3

20 Jan 2012 18:58:10
I've never heard so much clap trap thats on this site, 1 day we're signing everybody from messi to Pele, the next we're selling everyone including cludb cat, Can we please have some credible rumours, at least some worthy of this site

Believable5 Unbelievable0

That's what banter is all about,as much as serious people post on here you have to have the ones that can wind people up.

Agree0 Disagree2

20 Jan 2012 18:38:20
You can now view the entire Leeds squad on Ken Bates' new website: erbay.co.uk

Believable3 Unbelievable2

20 Jan 2012 18:32:13
Master Bates must do list no 1 : Sell at least one top player per transfer window

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Leeds fans to do list. Make sure no players are sold then moan that we never get any money from anyone when their contracts run out. Swings and roundabouts innit?

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Jan 2012 18:21:54
I'd make Clayton new captain. Think the added responsibility will keep him focused and at our club longer.

Believable4 Unbelievable2

I'd give snoddy the captain band...he is class and tbh one of our few class consistent performers this season and leeds would probably go down without him

Agree3 Disagree2

Yeah,just like Howson eh.

Agree1 Disagree0

20 Jan 2012 18:16:40
With the players at our beloved club currently misfiring, Howson about to be sold (good move in my opinion - he'll only play another 12 games for Leeds at best so let's pocket the 2 milly) I can't believe it has got to the stage that the biggest cheer tomorrow will be for ex-on loan goalkeeper Alex McCarthy who has basically reported to journos how much he loves our club and would welcome a return. He will get the biggest applause tomorrow no doubt! Can you imagine if he saves a penalty?

Believable7 Unbelievable0

Who knows, he might make a 'mistake' ;)

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Jan 2012 17:49:43
My source tells me that we have signed centre half H.p. Branston. For 1 month. We could be in a bit of a pickle after that tho.

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Is he a chutney, oops sorry I mean a cockney.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'll give you that one. not bad.

Agree1 Disagree0

He's a slippery customer but doesn't like being sandwiched in the box. He's a bit tasty but also a sandwich short of a pick nick . Could be good if he doesnt get past his sell by date. Has got to keep his cool.

Agree3 Disagree0

20 Jan 2012 17:24:33
What’s happening with the Bates Out protests then, when and where? Is he even in the country? He can’t spend more than 90 days per year in England as he’s a tax dodging Chelsea cretin.

Believable3 Unbelievable2

Have a look on Bates-out.com if you want more

Agree1 Disagree1

20 Jan 2012 17:22:10
leeds should get kevin davis from bolton out of favour at bolton

Believable2 Unbelievable1

20 Jan 2012 16:01:52
bates is gonna sell every player thats on a higher wag than £4,000 pw to the highest bidder

Believable4 Unbelievable3

Of course he is,he hates us and wants us relegated innit, get a grip, past your bedtime mate.

Agree2 Disagree0

Saying innit? really? really? jesus

Agree0 Disagree2

Bet your one of the arse holes who correct spelling mistakes innit,look at the content you dummy,not the way its said,really. {Ed013's Note - Now now children!}

Agree2 Disagree0

Never mind the spelling; can we please have some punctuation? It can be very hard to un-ravel the meaning of some of these posts late at night. The words seem to drift on and on, and I tend to lose interest. Although I quite like "arse holes" as two words. It seems to emphasise the sheer anatomical ghastliness of the insult.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Jan 2012 15:55:49
why cant we get rid of brown and
use it for howson contract brown good player
but too old

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Would you pay a fee for Brown?

Agree1 Disagree0

Depends

Agree0 Disagree1

Thats exactly why we can't. too old! was shocked when i had seen w had signed him!!

Agree1 Disagree0

Because then snoddy, white, Ross and god knows whoever else will want parity with their salaries. Also, just a thought here, how's about Howson actually wants to leave and it's not all about the money

Agree1 Disagree0

Whats the point of this post when hes all but gone, just to recap,he wanted premier league football, contract run out in 6 months,no money at all then, good buisiness all round.

Agree1 Disagree0

20 Jan 2012 15:44:30
Few Pompey players that may be going cheap, could improve us i reckon?

Joel Ward
Stephen Henderson (Backup for Lonners)
David Norris or Liam Lawrence
Jason Pearce

And possibly Erik Huseklepp?

MOT!

Believable3 Unbelievable1

Joel ward and jason pearce wont go cheap since they are pompey fans/players and pompey have already rejected bids fom ipswich, watfors and leicester for them. Henderson first team player and rejected newcastle and huseklepp only recently moved and is pompey first team player.

new sign outside elland road it says SELLAND ROAD SALE NOW ON MUST END 31/1/2012

Believable4 Unbelievable1

20 Jan 2012 15:31:52
Leeds are trying to run the club the way Newcastle are, with less success. selling your high earners and bringing in bargains only pays off when you have PREMIER LEAGUE status and cash behind you.

Believable4 Unbelievable1

20 Jan 2012 15:08:02
Wud like to see a 4-2-3-1 aproach again.
Lonergan
Thompson, Lees, Odea, white or Pugh
Clayton and delph
With rogers on right, Townsend on left and snoddy in the hole with Becchio up front

Believable1 Unbelievable2

Moving snoddy from out wide is just stupid. why fix something thats not broken?

Agree1 Disagree1

Rogers is a left sided player . i would send Townsend back to spurs as hes not all that

Agree1 Disagree4

Robbie plays on the left

Agree0 Disagree0

Becchio....please no, this years Billy Paynter

Agree1 Disagree2

Buck Rogers in the hole with snoddy on the right

Agree2 Disagree0

Like to see forssell given a go rather than Becchio!

Agree2 Disagree0

To me that actually looks like a very good team and has proven to work for grayson in the past (although with different players). i would certainly give that a shot.

Agree0 Disagree0

Rogers cant play

Agree0 Disagree0

Quite sure he`s two footed which means he could play on either flank.

Agree0 Disagree0

Have u watched highlights of Robbie Rogers on youtube? There's full games on there. He's right footed. And plays right or left.most games I watched he was on right.dome he was on left.looked effective either wing.as for snoddy I've been to every game this season and he's good on the right, but becoming predictable.I saw grayson switch him to the left during one game and snoddy put the best cross on of the whole game, but one game snoddy was stood on the Line screaming for the ball for about 15 min.one point had a go at Nunez for not paSsing to him n shooting instead.in same game grayson moved him to a free role in the centre, snoddy was main playmaker and got the ball a lot more and looked awesome. With his lack of pace I feel it cud be a great position for him to be involved more in games.

Agree1 Disagree0

It's an extremely effective team we have when you look at it player for player. The only thing is Becchio can't score for toffee at the moment. If he was in 20 goals a season form again we'd have no trouble winning games.

Agree0 Disagree0

Read YEP for the truth from Lorimer

Believable1 Unbelievable3

If he had of stayed it would have been like throwing money down the drain, when it was revealed he was joining Norwich I was angry as many other fans also where to belosing our captain especially with him being a local lad and coming through the youth academy , but on reflection I don't think this squad will achieve promotion even if Jonny where still to play for us, so it make sense to take Norwichs money,I just hope it gets used to strengthen the team.

Agree1 Disagree0

Who`s idea of the truth though??? MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

What's that supposed to mean.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Jan 2012 15:03:48
is delph going to be ready to play against ipswich tomorrow?

Believable5 Unbelievable0

Yes he is in the squad

Agree2 Disagree0

Will be in squad but not match fit

Agree0 Disagree1

20 Jan 2012 14:52:15
I have supported Leeds since the John Charles days and seen the good and the bad. I am hoping that Fabian is coming back as a stop gap to allow the club some breathing space to bring in more permanent players. Failing that it may be that after the initial month he will be signed up for the rest of the season. I cannot see any other good reason for him coming for such a short period.Hope the first option is the truth but nothing surprises me these days.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

I did watch John Charles play for Leeds, but only in an 'Old Boys' team, still the gentle giant though.

We have faith, and patience, hopefully?

I can't help feeling the 'debt' that we would be liable for, should we be promoted this season, has a strong bearing on what is happening this season?

I have stuck behind Bates thus far, but if he doesn't invest in Leeds, heavily, next season, when he no longer has that burden, I will be seriously thinking about my loyalty to the club...

MOT forever then?

Agree1 Disagree0

20 Jan 2012 14:45:49
Why would Bolton want clayton and lees for there squad? Want impact are they going to make? They won't be able to keep them up!

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Owen coyle knows they are going down, what better chance of battling the championship by bringin young lads with bags of potential on not so high wages?? they are not demanding much with us just a bit extra, bolton wil pay what bates wont

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Jan 2012 14:02:15
This is not a rumour. Let us give McCarthy a big cheer when he comes to the Kop end tomorrow. He did great for us and he reckons we are the best club he has played for. Show everyone we are the best fans in the world.

Believable9 Unbelievable0

100% agree

Agree6 Disagree0

I will also be chanting for lorimer out after his pathetic yes man article in the yep. horrible man.

Agree6 Disagree0

Though I had no plans to boo him, I assure you he was terrible for us and I did boo him week in week out.

Agree0 Disagree4

Defo well said MOT!!

Agree2 Disagree0

Whats the betting he has a great game and we cant get past him!

Agree4 Disagree0

Lorro is not a horrible man just a spin doctor for Bates and LUFC generally. The guy was off his nut when he told everyone in the first admin meeting after relegation that "a year in the Championship would probably do us a bit of good". I knew then we'd be outside the PL for better part of a decade. Best way to deal with Lorimer is ignore him. Ironic isn't it? We're trying for the PL...maybe we need to ditch the PL we already have to help that along??

Agree0 Disagree0

Howson at Norwich having medical could sign today THANK YOU LEEDS your just a feeder club for any one with money we will be back for Snodgrass later this month

Believable6 Unbelievable6

Snodgrass is like Batty - doesn't care for money and is happy as long as he is playing

Snodgrass for Captain!

Agree10 Disagree3

£5mil would do btw what a stupid price you have paid when you could of had him for free. I laughing that you have bought him, you do realise he is injured till March then has to get fit. More money than sense.

Agree3 Disagree1

This sad Canary still posting on here because there is nobody to post to on his own site.

Agree6 Disagree1

It would ruin snoddy if he was given captain duty as he would be concentrating on other parts of the game

Snoddy will NEVER sign for Norwich, eat your hearts out..........

WTF? 2 pints of what the original poster of this is on please landlord.

Ed, you like to defend the illiterate on here from time to time, however I feel you have your work cut out with this one. {Ed013's Note - I think his/hers phone needs to go to the doctors as the predictive text is ill!}

Agree4 Disagree0

Looks like this poster was educated at an academy who's staff are budgeted by Ken Bates.

Agree0 Disagree1

20 Jan 2012 12:03:13
How is the signing of Delph on loan for ONE month helpful to us?

We will be screwed if they call him back at the end of february.

we need to hold on to the other young talent now, and hope that there may be a few quality signing planned over the next couple of weeks.

Personally I would like to see a CB and a full back signed along with another central midfielder.

Gunter and Morgan of forest would be could additions surely there is a bit of cash that could sign them up.

Believable2 Unbelievable4

So you don't want Delph back? How is this going to harm Leeds in any way?

You obviously aren't a true supporter?

We need all the help we can get right now...

20 Jan 2012 12:01:28
Aston Villa midfielder Fabian Delph has returned to Leeds United on an initial loan deal until February 25. OS MOT!

Believable3 Unbelievable2

20 Jan 2012 11:58:59
We sell a academy product in howson and then bring delph back what the hell is going on come on bates us fans need answers an fast

Believable1 Unbelievable4

Why bates its graysons choice FFs that's the prob Grayson asks for these players and bates gets the s**t get behind lufc FFs we need it

Agree3 Disagree2

If bates isn't willing to pay players what they are worth then how do we keep hold of players like howson, white ,lees etc.. nowt to do with grayson.
also grayson probably gives bates a list of players maybe 2 from each position which he thinks we need and then bates decides which player he should sign which ends up been the cheapest of the pair

Agree1 Disagree1

Delph was an academy product, and twice the player Howson is,dont think hell be up to life in the prem, and Delphs loan is for a month initially,so maybe more, anyway, sooner have Delph for a month than Howson for 6.

Agree1 Disagree0

20 Jan 2012 11:58:10
It's official on Leeds site, delph signed on loan till February 25th. Straight in team for ipswich.Howson completing medical at norwich. Grayson yet to comment on howson.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

He as on the os, makes sense! if he spends the cash

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Jan 2012 11:57:01
What is the point in bringing in delph on a month loan what we really need is permanent signings that actually want to play for this great club unlike delph he wanted to leave before so why bring him back this only papers over the cracks mot without the chelsea

Believable3 Unbelievable3

20 Jan 2012 11:51:30
if the clowns running our club think signing delph for one month will have fans flocking back to elland road there in for a shock.what the fans need after losing howsan is to buy some quality players using the money from howsan kasper and gradel, the prices bates charges are a disgrace and i reckon gates will drop even further.

Believable5 Unbelievable4

Stay away then see more players sold to cover bills.

Agree4 Disagree3

Or just watch a once great club turn into a laughing stock,i suppose the choice is ,dont buy your pass and Master Bates, blames you for not been able to buy players,or buy your pass and Master Bates still doesnt buy any players, hard choice really !

Agree3 Disagree1

We are not a laughing stock only sound like one because of the persistent and continual moaning from the morons.

Agree0 Disagree0

No just a sad 80 year old running our club, doesnt get much worse, only thing keeping me having some kind of faith is that he is 80 ,so should have some chance of prem football in the next 5/6 years when hes gone.

Agree0 Disagree0

20 Jan 2012 11:41:42
am I right in believing we owe out 35 million in debts if we get promoted to the premiership this season if not it gets written off? its a rumour i have heard a few times and just wondered whether the could be any truth in these rumours have you heard anything on this ed? {Ed013's Note - As far as i'm aware that finished last season, but you never know what goes on behind the scenes}

Believable1 Unbelievable3

10 years ED and it's £5million if we go up

Agree0 Disagree0

The only people who really know are Bates and Harvey and they will never be open and honest about it.

Agree2 Disagree1

20 Jan 2012 11:43:39
prob getting my hopes up, its says at the end of the delph signing on official site that villa have a recall clause after the 1st 28 days, does that nmean its a full loan for first month then if they need him back they can take him?

Believable2 Unbelievable0

Standard in premiership loan deals like Stockdale, it appears Leeds fans no matter what always want to find the negative

Agree5 Disagree0

Om original poster and not being negative ijust wanted clarity there is a difference, its says recall clause activated after first 28 days(not exact wording) that would mean we have him for sure for the 1 st month no matter what then prob for the rest of season depending on injuries/suspensions etc at villa...... and before shouting your mouth off read posts properly, it was a question not a negative! MORON

Agree3 Disagree2

20 Jan 2012 11:39:35

I have heard that Ken Bates is going to sign up for a Striker as Ross McCormack will be going to Wigan. He will be palying tomorrow at the Ipswich game.
I have also heard that Nunez is the enw goalkeeper as they are getting rid of Andy Lonergan!

Delph, for only one monrh on loan?? Why bother ? We need him till end of season or not at all. Bring smithy back.sign pattison up. Get a right back in n we be ok.

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Delph is a welcome addition but i agree one month isnt great.probably just to butter us up a bit because of howson.then delph will go back, then no transfer window then nothing.now howson staying with delph as an add on is more like what we need but lets face it we are not going to get.if we finish above 10th we will have done well...shrew leeds

Agree1 Disagree1

You need to get out more bud, bring Smith back?,he would add absolutely nothing to our squad, let alone team, hes well past his sell by date, why do you think he hasnt been snapped up?,exactly, hes crap.

Agree0 Disagree0

Smithy's 60k per week would probably put most teams off tbf

delph set to sign today but not for the rest of season. we are only signing him for 1 month. bates and grayson sort your heads a 1 month loan doesnt help maybe till end of season but 1 month whats the point. i seriously hope hes just cover till we can fetch another quality midfielder in but i very much doubt it. lets hope rogers proves to be what we need or pattison if we sign him

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Whats the big interest in pattison.lots of clubs queing for him,,,not..and i could make a 10 min video to cover my beat bits as a player, even billy p could..shrew leeds

Agree0 Disagree1

Cant loan him till end of season we can loan short term 3 month max this way we can loan him later for 3 months till end of season jeez calm down people if we loaned him now for 3 months then the loan deadline would pass and if big and a big if we got in the play offs delph would be missing another good decision by Bates well done.

Agree5 Disagree0

Good shout, never thought of that as we did that with another player last year, not sure who though or am i just thinking this.

If and it's a big if We sign Delphi, what kind of reception will he get?

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Would give him a good welcome, cant blame the lad for want Premier League football and we were a long way off that

Agree2 Disagree0

So funny.we will give delph a good welcome as we cant blame him for wanting prem.then loads on here slag off howson for same thing...yes any player contributing to the team wants support but will others on here give howson a break....sure they would have done same thing..shrew leeds

Agree0 Disagree0

If Howson came back then he would probably be welcomed to thats why we are the Greatest fans in the world because no matter what we get behind the team MOT.

Agree1 Disagree0

I arnt gettin at howson cos cant really blame him, but he was captain and still had a chance of promotion(slim), why didnt he sign a new contract with a 2mil get out clause if we dont go up? As for delph I welcome him back, we was in division 1 and miles off premiership, couldnt turn down 6mil for a player who might have flopped/unproven and actually got injured shortly afterwards so he prob wouldnt have made a difference to us anyway! STW

Agree0 Disagree0

When Howson had talks with Leeds dont you think he will have wanted to know what the chances of Leeds going up to the prem were likely to be ,club ambition, money available for transfers etc and thats why hes at Norwich !

Agree0 Disagree0

Rumour I heard is that the only way Howson was prepared to sign a new contract is if Leeds was actually promoted, he wasn't interested in, money, guarantees of players coming in, clauses or anything. He just wanted to be in the top flight.

Agree1 Disagree0

Howson didnt even know about the Norwich deal he was summoned into the offices and told the club had excepted an offer for him as he had not excepted their contract offer He didnt ask or want to leave and was in the process of moving his family back to where his parents live so his girlfriend wasnt stuck out in the middle of nowhere

Wanted to make a quick post, so my feelings can be shared.

There has been a lot of stuff posted about Ken Bates 'leeching' from the coffers for his own personal benefit, and Grayson not being up to the task of getting us promoted etc, etc. Firstly, I agree with 'most' of that. The underlying problem though, has to be Bates. Grayson tells us plenty of stuff which could be misconstrued as 'lies'. I don't think they necessarily are. He certainly states that he wants to bring in players, and for whatever reason, it never materialises. I personally think that Grayson does try his best to get players in, and that Bates is willing to spend a certain amount of money to get them here. BUT, and it's a big BUT, the players we go for simply do NOT want to come to us. Not at the moment anyway. They can see the discontent at the club, and why would they wanna get involved in that?

Selling our captain does indeed show a lack of ambition. But if Howson is adamant he wants to leave, then what can you do? All players strive to play at the top level, and the apparent lack of ambition has forced his hand. Some players are different in that they will wait for a couple of years to see if things change, but eventually, they all want to play at the top level. It's a shame that they couldn't do it with Leeds rather having to move on, but Bates has to be responsible for this....

While this is going on, players with dwindling contracts will likely not re-sign, and will therefore move on once the contract nears it's end. Togetherness in the dressing room, and greater ambition would HELP to stop this, but in the end, money and top flight football will still call louder.

Until Bates has made what he wants and moved on, it's likely that what we will be at best is a playoff Championship side, or a yo-yo club. It's a shame, but it's also more than likely.

WMS.....MOT!

Best post for ages mate, totaly agree.

It's time for bates to go.

Agree5 Disagree0

We have to sell howson HE WANTS TO LEAVE wont sign contract,or should we let him see out his contract and go fo nowt ?maybe it's howson who lacks ambition or he sees the£££££££££££.

On the Fabian Delph front. What's the point in having a player for a month as quoted on sky sports, we need players till the rest of the season.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

Loan limits max 3 month in leeds did this first the loan deadline would pass so we loan him for a month, then sign him again for 3 months on loan thus covers us for the season, and it means he will be with us if we get in the playoffs. Another good decision by bates

Agree3 Disagree0

Thanks, i can remember this legislation from last year. Nice to see your on your toes. Any football managerial skills. {Ed001's Note - if they just took him on loan for the rest of the season, they would have no need of the emergency loan at all.}

Agree0 Disagree0

The 93 day thing only applies to emergency loans outside of the window. As Ed says if we signed him for the rest of the season it would be until the season ends - including play-offs.

Agree0 Disagree0

Thats all well and said but Villa, wouldn't let delph leave on standard loan so this is the only way the deal could be done. {Ed001's Note - ah, now that makes sense.}

i cant believe all these fans that are protesting against the sale of howson, first of all he feels its is time to play in the highest league and probably didn't care if leeds offered him an higher wage or not.
if we was to keep him till end of season we would miss out on 2 mil for a player that would not have much more influence on this season due to been injured ,so for those who say we should be keeping him so he can help get promotion this season ,hes not gonna do much from the stands

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Agree 100%, bates is right mindless morons that will bring shame and negativity to our club. I truly believe that they have no idea of what it takes to run a club in the championship, they all think that if we spend money it guarantees success they truly have short memories.

Protesting never works, it just causes unrest within the club, players, fans alike and frankly we can all do with out it. The Howson sale makes perfect sense and I don't have a problem.

Agree2 Disagree2

Agree.no player in a mediocre selling club with dwindling crowds and no ambition would turn down a move to the premier with better wages and a decent footballing outfit, who have suceeded on a shoestring..grayson note..they will fin half way.

The lack of investment and planning in the summer has come back to bite SG and Bates(if he is bothered). We are now in January and trying to build a new side from loans and freebies, pathetic we are a joke.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Says in YEP Delph currently has knee injury - so we are basically getting another clubs player fit - unbeliveable!

Agree0 Disagree2

There will be money spent in jan . i think grayson has decided that we needed to change fast and now is the time to upgrade the team . we only really have a first 11 and after that they are useless so with selling some players and getting some decent coin we can now get a squad that can perform at this level and chalange for promotion

Agree0 Disagree0

The way bates works is basically to make a profit from buying and selling the players.
its easier to make a £500.000 player into a £2,000,000 player than it is to make a £2,000,000 player into £8,000,000 player . its also easier to sell a £2,000,000 player as there's more clubs that can afford that sort of money. just a business now at end of day for bates

Agree1 Disagree0

Haha Fab's has gone straight in the squad ahead of the game, so he's NOT injured.

Just wanted to throw in a different slant on Ken to canvas a few views.

The man is not and has never been a Leeds supporter and therefore the fans, players, etc do not come into his decisions.

He is first and foremost a businessman and sees this club like any of his other investments. It is this fact that gives me some hope for the future.

To maximise his return from this club he needs to sell it at the best price and to do this we have to be in the top division. Therefore at some time he will have to spend a bit to get us there.

I would prefer it to be sooner rather than later, but I know I will still be around supporting the top team in the Premiership long after he is gone.

If we manage to get get Delph (if he comes) & Rodgers onto the pitch where do you think they will both play, who'll be out ?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Midfield
snodgrass clayton delph pugh

forwards
rodgers another!

Agree0 Disagree0

Well Rogers will be the replacement for Gradel we have been missing all season. Delph will probably be a short-term replacement for Howson now that he's more than likely leaving.

It's alright having these players on loan, but if we were to make the playoffs, and god forbid get into the PL this season, we'd be in a bit of a pickle. Delph, Townsend etc would return to their parent clubs, and we may well have lost White and Clayton by then too. We will need a whole new bleeding team. The defence hasn't been good enough for the Championship, and it STILL isn't being properly addressed.

I can't help but think that if we were promoted, it would be a couple of season long loans, and freebies from clubs relegated the same year, where their players have relegation release clauses written into their contracts.

I try to be as optimistic as possible, but everything I read is a disappointment.

But still........ MOT!

Howson leaving is a not good for us I admit. But there are many possible reasons for him leaving....

1. Our offer of a contract was rubbish so the lad leaves.
2. Despite our good contract offer he really wants to play in the premiership and sees now as his chance to do it as he doesn't believe we have the ambition to get there.
3. Possible fall outs within the club (we've all read the rumours)

I could go on but i cant be bothered guessing why hes leaving and thats all were all doing, guessing. But I remain certain that we would be better off selling him than letting his contract run out. This is a good decision no matter what the reason contract talks broke down.
He has been great for us but there will be another great player we all love soon enough and it won't neccassarily be the big money signing we are all hoping for.
Keep the faith. Premiership soon.
In Grayson I trust and in bates I trust. (bates is smart he has a plan lets hope it benefits us, we ain't gonna chant him out he's already proven that)
MOT

Believable1 Unbelievable2

Not that I am right and you are wrong but in my humbel opinion I agree in part with what you say and not others.
I AGREE with points ;
1 to 3
We are guessing
Its a good decision
we aint gunna chant him out

I DISAGREE ;
Howson leaving is good for us.
Although he's had his magic moments I can't agree that he has been great for us.
At his best he scores important goals but regularly goes missing in games effectively leaving Leeds to go down to 10 men at these times(though he's not alone)....
No way Premiership soon!!
I trust Grayson to give it his best under very tricky(penniless circumstances) unfortunately his tactics are woefull at times.
I can't come near to trusting Bates - the man is proud but first and foremost he's a businessman and his aim is profit not success(I understand that success needs one eye on the profit margin).
Bates has one aim to leave with a pot of gold and if we are lucky enough to have some success on the football field this is insignificant!!

Agree0 Disagree1

I agree with this apart from the last linei wouldnt trust bates to walk my dog time he went thanks and goodbye ken

Right, in my opinion, our squad needs investment, and quick, or else mid-lower table is going to be our fate this season. Honestly, out of the rumours of signings I've seen on here and elsewhere, I would love to see Clingan and Delph in. But at the end of the day, I think every realistic Leeds United fan knows that big name/money (a few million £) signings such as George Boyd/Billy Sharp just are not going to happen, as much as I would love them too. 3 or 4 good quality signings to strengthen and replace the players who are leaving or may leave the squad would do me perfectly, just no journeymen or panic buys please!

Trust in Grayson, he's a good manager with Leeds United blood.

Hope you lot agree..

Believable4 Unbelievable2

At the moment leeds have an unbalanced average team with the odd bit of class.
it looks like howson is on his way out i expect snoody to leave but for around the 5 mil mark if mccormack goes aswell i would expect between 1.5 and 2 mil we will also get rid of the fringe players and hopefully spend wisely bringing in a balanced team which can challenge for promotion .
