Don't get me wrong, I'm happy with the result, but there's one thing bugging me. This team is clearly designed to grind out 1-0 victories. This means gaining a lead and holding onto it. So don't go conceding three goals at home, and don't let the lead slip in the dying minutes! SO FRUSTRATING!
On the other hand, the character the lads showed to turn a two nil deficit into a lead was outstanding!

Believable7 Unbelievable9

It's a good result! last season we would of lost that 4-3 easily! not many teams will get points against blackburn this season.

Agree12 Disagree4

Last season we would have lost 5 - 0 at least.....

Agree9 Disagree2

Deserved to win, Blackburn have the ref to thank for their point; a goal disallowed at 3-2 for nothing, and a couple of stonewall penalties turned down - it's the same story every time a so-called Premiership ref comes to Elland Road. They come with an agenda.

Agree6 Disagree2

Whoever disagreed with the above either isn't a Leeds fan or didn't go to the game.

Fans keep talking about 'our club'. Its not their club its Bates' club and he charges fans
to see his team. Another comment to the effect we need another man in charge. If you
do buy the club and it will be yours to do what you
want with it. Bates is not going to sell until its in his best interests to do so and why
should he? It was me and fans
were giving me stick and I could
afford it I know I would do to spite them. Not a Bates lover but fans who pay a few
quid aweek think they can dictate to someone,
by whatever means, owns the
rights to the club. I watch the
team and I am pleased to do so I dont hold any business rights to it. If I dont like it I can always go somewhere else. I do have opinions and i dont think Bates is doing us, the spectators,
many favours. We can voice
opinions but we have to keep a sense of proportion and being offensive doesn't help.

Believable8 Unbelievable21

Showing great loyalty Mrs. Bates, ken will be pleased with you!

Agree13 Disagree8

Looks like your on a promise Mr Bates. Mrs Bates ringing your bell.
mot4life

Agree3 Disagree0

Glad to see theres someone else out there who's living in the real world. So tired of hearing the person's demand this and expect that because it's their club............NO IT'S NOT and untill captain birdseye signs on the dotted line it will stay his to do with as he likes, wake up.
Support the team or not it's up to you but you dont run the club, nor do your opinions (which you are entitled to) matter to anyone but yourself

Agree4 Disagree3

A few quid a week...you obviously don't go to games pal, it cost some supporters thousands a year so jog on back to Monaco Mrs Bates.

Agree5 Disagree1

Well thanks for pointing out 'we' dont actually own 'our' club, and there s me thinking that because I bought 5 shirts last season I owned the club. Its not about the signature on the ownership form (and believe me we dont need you to tell us who that is) its about passion, love and LOYALTY, which 'we' have in abundance, thats what makes it 'our' club. Not sure about you though Mrs Bates. MOT IrishWhite

Agree5 Disagree1

Mrs Bates here again(LOL). Supported Leeds for many years. I dont own the club and I have seen lots worse than Ken Bates but at the end of the day we pay to watch the owners team whether we lke it or not. The put up the money and call the shots. I am a customer just the same as when I go to Sainsburys. To have any real say you need to be a shareholder.

Agree5 Disagree2

We could make it our club - Why don't LUST get their act together and get a fans trust going to buy the club, then they can master their vision plan instead of just causing trouble with the current takeover.

Agree3 Disagree2

Mrs Bates is clearly an expert in dinosaur economics. The idea that stakeholders don't have a stake in a company's success is dead and buried like the dinosaurs. Stakeholders may not be shareholders but loyal customers are still stakeholders. Its not rocket science..Because if it weren't for those of us who see ourselves as Leeds through and through there would be no business for Mrs Bates to benefit from. Dinosaurs have had their day especially those that call stakeholders and loyal customers people whilst taking our money and not investing in the club. Pick up a pen ken and enjoy a happy very happy retirement in Monaco.

Agree2 Disagree0

Because would you really want LUST in charge. No thanks pmsl KB is bad enough can you imagine Cooper as chairman.

Agree1 Disagree1

5 shirts.................a season ticket, whatever! makes no diference, you're just a customer try and get that through your th**k heads. Birdseye OWNS it and yes it is about a signature on a bit of paper, hence no takeover till he gets whatever he wants for it. stop your dreaming and listen to Mrs Bates you might learn something

Agree1 Disagree2

In Germany, the fans own the clubs, i.e. a minimum of 51% so no single person can own the club outright. It's German law. As a by-product of this law, the fans are treated with respect, or rather, as human beings, they can can drink in the stands, carry in flags, smoke, jump up and down in unison til the stadium literally rocks, and no sign of unwarranted steward/police abuse. Surely it is time we had 1, the same support for this ownership model from the government on this god forsaken island, and 2, a movement from the fans to take ownership of Leeds United. I hate this country and how it condones the treatment of fans, I hate Ken Bates and all the parasites like him and I hate the the FA and FL who condone the ownership of clubs and treatment of fans like ours by the ilk of Mr. and Mrs. Bates. How much does it take to buy that Cockney crook out? With a triumvirate of fans, business men and the Leeds Council, LUFC can be be delivered into the hands of those who love and cherish the club. sawfeet.

Ken Bates won't sell until the end of the season as he will get more for the club if we go up. Bates Out!

Believable4 Unbelievable10

If we went up anyway, we would be then the laughing stock of the prem. While Bates says thank you very much for feeding Kenneth, thank you very much, thank you very very much.

Agree6 Disagree2

Go up... ha ha ha ha and who is gonna buy all the premiership players for us? YOU

Agree1 Disagree1

Neil W has built a decent team, that will get better as players gel, however whilst we will be there or there abouts, it is difficult to see us getting out of this league. If the demented old one doesn't find money to buy the 2/3 layers that we need (lets face it the man is such an person he would rather spend what we have on improving parts of the ground that no one uses), we won't get promotion. Even a nut job like Bates can't be so deluded as to think that we will, based on his outlay (as close to zero as the curmudgeon can get), get promotion, so why is he continuing to try and kill our team and Club? No point in him waiting until the end of the season because the problem is him, silly man is incapable of understanding that you build a team in order to build a Club, not the other way around! For god's sake go.............

Unlucky not to win today. Id have taken a point prematch though. Last season we would've got tanked. Neil has built a squad albeit a thin squad, but it is a squad of grafters with experience. These lads listen to him at half time and seem to play for the team not the wage packet. We may still be owned by Bates but at the end of the day whoever owns us. WE ARE LEEDS. Two relegated teams have come to Elland Road and we took 4pts. Should've been 6. We have lost one game to Blackpool who look great this season. We won't win them all but if we put in performances like this we can take a good few scalps this season. Maybe a good loan signing in next few weeks to bolster the team but let's have faith. We can do this. WE ARE LEEDS. M.O.T

I'd have taken a point before the game and I really feared the worst at 2-0 - they scored those goals so easily. As it turned out I was disappointed not to win in the end and very disappointed with Warnock's lack of ambition and imagination. He didn't use his subs to go on and win at 3-2 and was punished for playing safe. Diouf played very well but was clearly exhausted and Varney was dire all game. 90 seconds for Byram after his performance last week. 2 points lost in the end.

Byram should start instead of varner

Chairman Ken Bates addressed the issue in his programme notes, writing: "There is a lot that goes on behind the scenes which unfortunately cannot be put into the public arena. I am determined that when I move on my legacy will be that the club is in safe hands."
This sound to me like he is not selling as the buyers in his opinion are not right, anyone will do for now as far as I am concerned just not KB, Go back to Monaco for good

Believable3 Unbelievable6

F=cksake we are not in safe hands now and Bates is trying to butter us up, for when he turns around and says " The takeover was just not right for the club and ive got there best interests at heart, YAARDY, YAARDY YAA!" Some will say, i believe him , he saved us.
I say f=ck off Bates and drop dead, i don't care now what you've got to say, unless its im off.

Shame about the end result but after going 2 nil down clear to see we have a proper Manager. If only we had a proper Chairman. Think it's pretty obvious with just 2 marquee signings we'd rule this league. Praying for the takeover.

Believable15 Unbelievable0

Should have won the game. Do you not think Warnock could have made better use of his subs? I think Wanock's management contributed to us losing two points by not having the courage to try and capitalise on the lead. Blackburn lack pace and had to use two subs quite early on. Playing Byram for more than 90 seconds and maybe White could have put them under pressure for the last 15/20 mins. Instead we tried to defend a lead against a strong attacking team. Their defence was pretty poor and we should have done more to exploit that late on.

Really getting fed up with pointless posts like this, we still are a great club, with a great manager, let's just be grateful that we have a decent squad ( although be it small) to compete with any team in this division, A couple of decent loan signings and we will be a top 6 side this season, Forget Bates for now and let's concentrate on turning up at Elland Rd and giving Warnock and our team full support.Mass protest has NO Chance of happening.

posted about 5 weeks ago that there was no taker at Leeds and said that this was just a smoke screen to get fans off the back of KB, he has now made it to the safety of transfer window and he has the season tickets and merchdise money from fans who were hoping for big changes (conned). Players brought in funded by our better player being sold(no investment), the team is not much better than last seasons team although I do like Austin, Pearce Kenny and Byram as a back up.
I feel we should stop turning up to matches for a month and show KB it us that run the club not him, I know this will be bad for the players and the team but another season is already lost lets get him out. With no revenue he will be off to Monaco never to be heard of again, it is now up to us to vote by not putting any money into the club until he has gone. I am not and uddersfield fan nor a Norwich fan but a very mithered Leeds fan

Believable7 Unbelievable6

Why do some "fans" keep banging on about boycotting matches, just got back from match to read this crap again, just over 24,000 fans saw Leeds fight back from 2-0 down, they are giving 100% and we ought to do the same, when you look at the squad Blackburn have got and the money theyve spent compared to us theres no comparison, yet we could easily have won this match, never mind about Bates, never mind about the takeover, support the lads choose what,if you dont like it f-ck off and "support" someone else.

Agree2 Disagree4

Doesn't though does he - he's mortgaged the season ticket money to fund the redevelopment of the East Stand. That's why, ultimately, he will have to sell. It's just a question of how long he can hold out - he seems to be a very stubborn man.

Believable6 Unbelievable2

Diouf signed short contract until January, whats that all about?

Agree1 Disagree0

It says he's our player until Jan, Rogers loan finishes in Jan. It also keeps Diouf mind focussed on behaviour and performance. NW has basically but him on a very short leash, and it won't be costly to cut ties. I understand their is options for auto extension for an additional 6 months. People should be delighted by this move.

Well no surprises that Bates is still here, if you consider how much money he makes from home matches etc, selling young players for a profit. Assume a minimum of £10 profit per supporter with an average gate of 18,000 = £180,000 + advertising, TV coverage, food, drink, shirts etc. x number of home games =£x million pounds per year. I can not see him selling as his expenses are low and cash income is high.

The only way to remove him is to protest, imagine if more fans protested outside the ground than actually attended the Leeds v Everton game which is on sky sports....and stayed outside for the entire game.

We can still cheer our team on from outside the ground....

Believable6 Unbelievable5

You obviously know nothing about business or about the club's accounts.

Firstly, the season ticket sales have been mortgaged for two years to fund the East Stand redevelopment so none of that money is going back into the club.

Secondly, where does £10 profit come from? That suggests a 25% gross margin which would be astoundingly high for a football club. Your assumptions are completely random.

The fact is that LUFC makes an operating loss every year which is offset by player trading. All of Bates's gambles; the East Stand and its corporate facilities, the Pavilion, the radio station, the restaurants etc. are all losing serious money.

Bates is a poor businessman who got lucky. At Chelsea he used the same business model, Chelsea Village, and was very close to going under when he was saved by Abramovich's vanity and desperation to own that specific club.

Bates has dug himself into a big hole and the only way he can make money now is to sell.

To all the Leeds fans who are moaning on about not signing any body and blabbing on about going down....please put a sock in it, maybe we haven't signed a load of players but from what I've seen at all the games I've been to this season so far is a very good team spirit and desire to play good football, you don't have to have a massive squad to do well, if you can keep a fit team together that play for each other then your almost there, with a bit of luck here and there who knows what might happen, we didn't have a massive squad back in 1990 and we won the old championship with most of the same players batty, speed, strachken, macca ect then in the 2000s with kewell, decourt, radebe,Kelly ect, mostly the same players playing all the time,

So please stop moaning about squad size, what wil be will be, get behind Leeds, cheer them on to the roof and let US be that extra signing that will see Leeds united become victorius once more

Marching on together. Mark

Believable5 Unbelievable8

Stop dreaming! Back in the 90s there was not even a fraction of the money in football like there is now. Clubs half are size are signing really good players or loaning them. Why all this negativity about not signing anyone on transfer deadline day?!?

To me, a lot of the business on deadline day is like 'panic buying'. I'd much rather look at players through the first part of the season and bring them here in January when we (a) have scouted them thoroughly, and (b) are likely to have the funds to do so.

I seem to remember thinking to myself the the QPR team who ran away with the league was a bit poo, and wondered how on earth they were top! Togetherness can be as important as quality sometimes, and we seem to have plenty of determination now which we sadly lacked last season. Along with a manager who has 'been there, done that'. With the pack we have now I can envisage a top six finish, but with a bit of luck, some decent loan signings, and some January dabbling - who knows!!

Oh and let's not forget, we can still snap up unattached players, of which there seems to be an abundance!

I'm so disillusioned with Bates am actually upset Everton tie screened live because I know where the TV proceeds are going. Some octogenarian back pocket. I shouldn't be thinking like this but this is what is happening. He's making Leeds fans feel sick. One thing I do know this can't go on or for much longer. If Bates won't stand down there's gotta be someone out there who can unearth his skeletons and make his life difficult. Bates out!!!!

Believable14 Unbelievable1

The only way Bates will go now is when gates fall to a level where the club is loosing money and cant continue to meet its obligations.
Leeds fans dont want to boycott matches - they are real supporters - but there will be some games that are not as attractive as others when gates will be lower than break even (especially if we are a mid table team at that point, which is possible due to the lack of investment) and this be the turning point in the future ownership of Leeds IMO.
Either Bates accepts a takeover bid or we revisit administration and he gets far less unless hes got another dodgy deal up his sleeve.
Either way its going to be a long, painful season watching Neil Warnock attempting to give the club the kiss of life as Bates continues to strangle it at every opportunity. I suspect that this saga is just beginning not coming to a conclusion.

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't think Bates would care about a few skeletons being unearthed - plenty of stuff already out there about his past.

Maynard, Sharp, Boothroyd, Dobie, Cox, Hamill, Quinn, Delfounso all moved to championship clubs this transfer window & all would have been good signings for us. We can only guess if we were ever interested of in for any of these fellas ad none of us on here really know. Whilst I'm not a doom & gloom merchant & not about to start saying we won't make play offs/will get relegated/take overs off I am a little disappointed we didn't sneak one of these above thru at the death. Interested to see who the potential loan signings will be in September. We have a good around 17 players (if u include green & somma so around 15 really) which could easily get us up there we just need a bit of depth which will hopefully be added in the next few weeks - Hopefully! What ever happens will still be turning up as the ups & downs are all part of the fun of been a footy fan - personally I enjoyed the league 1 almost as much as the champions league ( altho ugh I know which I'd like to have a go at next & it involves playing abroad!)

Warnock please quit, leeds fans please boycot games this is the only way that KB will leave our beloved club. NO NONENSE NOW KB NEEDS TO GO

Believable9 Unbelievable18

Is that your answer nw quit what a rediclious thing to say. The takeover will happen at some point I think bates was holding the new would be owners to ransom over the deadline day but now it's gone he has no power left. If stories are to be believed Leeds have no money plus all ticket receipts are used to pay off loans so he will have to sell of cough up some money so the club can run.

Get bates out .

Agree4 Disagree0

Don't be an person! Warnock has got the fans believing again despite his financial restraints and now you are tweaking him to leave. His stupid would this be, and with no fans turning up would you expect the players to give their all

Agree2 Disagree1

What a stupid post, asking the Championships best manager to leave, why not go the whole way and burn down ER, you're not a Leicester fan are you hoping that he'll go and work in the crisp factiry?

Agree3 Disagree0

I agree with the boycotting of games if we hit ken where it hurts ie (pocket) then he has no other option than to leave...

Lads! If we don't start coming togeather instead of fighting amongst are selfs, there will never be change. People will say just get behind the team and this is what Bates exspects from us die hard fans. Well i say, NO MORE MR BATES!! Knowbody has ever done anything to help Leeds in the past and it looks like knowbody will now. We've had a good start to the season but even a blind man can see we haven't got the numbers to see out a full and tuff season. We need to fight for are club, otherwise we will be having this conversation in league 1.
The only message Bates understands, is the message of money. Now we don't have the money to buy the club, thats a fact. What we do have is the power to boycott the cat a games. Which will hit bates right in the pocket and if there is really a takeover in the mix, this would only say to them we want change for are club and put them in the driving seat.
I love my team but other clubs are laughing at us.Bates is filling us with sh=te, telling us we are making a profit now and are on a good footing. if this was true, then where is are profit. Do i really need to answear that one. Bates is pi==ing himself at are exspence. He's like the Asda advert, tapping his back pocket and we are saying give me more.
Really hope lads we UNITE!

i cannot believe that teams like forest blackpool blackburn sheffield wednesday huddersfield can afford to sign players we are seriously a complete and utter joke bates out bates out!!!!!!!!

Believable18 Unbelievable3

Hi, people come on sites like this and throw names and possible signings about with no thought about whether or not the manager actually wants the players.
Sit back some of you and think, NW has been as honest as he can be to the fans.
He did not offer up any hopes of last minute signings, and sursprise surprise, there were no last minute signings.
Too many people focus on who other teams sign, something nothing can be done about.
NW is the one leading the team, and I may be in the minority here, but I am quite happy to let him do his job, while I get on with supporting whoever he feels fit to put out for Leeds.
Thank goodness all the nonsence can now stop until at least December, when all the posts from people who have no information start flying in about who will be signed next.
If a player has the chance to play for Leeds and they want to then they will, if they want money then they will sign for someone else. It is not as if the club offer the minimum wage.
I read all the time about Leeds supporters being the best in football, then posts on sites such as these make me question that.
Have your opinion by all means, but the fact remains, the only effect anyone can have on the club is to give the players one hundred percent support, and let the stuffed shirts and bean counters overseeing takeovers/investments do their thing.
So I finish off with no predictions of where the team will finish, I have no idea who will sign, or if there will be new owners. All I know that no matter what, I will be a Leeds fan when the last whistle of this season is blown, and still will be when first whistle of the next sounds.

i agree with one person on here that is that warnock has done well with the funds available so lets get behind the lads againsst blackburn and hope foor the best im sure we will get a few loans in early septemberr

Believable22 Unbelievable3

Tht would be me u agree with :)
Bainesyboy

Agree2 Disagree1

With the funds available, absolutely. Not many others could do well with no money to spend.

Agree2 Disagree0

You get behind them, the vile Bates is getting none of my money.

Agree1 Disagree0

And me, it's a shame that he had 5 players that are deadwood that was signed by SG. NW repeatedly bemoaned this and its the sole reason why we haven't signed anymore players. NW said he had to clear them first, but they are and such good packages that no teams can afford/want to take them.

Still 11 players in is a great achievement, the first 11 look far superior than last season.

Agree1 Disagree0

I can't believe people thought we would buy players yesterday? we have a good championship team. our players know this league very well, 6 points out of 9 is a good a start for us , so lets add another 3 points today

why would Bates invest money into a squad when hes on the way out?

not hard to decifer is it

Thanks to everyone with all your wrong rumors keep them up the skunk in Leeds must be strong , we all must remember we are now a average club with a average team with a average win rate ,so please let the takeover be true as it's breaking my heart

Believable7 Unbelievable4

We are far from an average team, that sole reason is NW. I love Leeds but rather than blaming KB for our current affairs I look more closely at the fans, its the fans that bring conjecture and stir negativity amongst itself and its the fans that make up lies and fake rumours. We are being split and divided from within, this needs to stop, the club is in a stronger place now than this time last year and as I've said before that's down to NW, who is the best manager in this league.

Match days should be positive and fans should be fully behind the team, imo that is not the case and hasn't been for a number of years.

when you can't even convince a player nobody else in the country would touch to stay on, what hope do you have? may as well write off this season again regarding promotion, and just hope we get enough wins under our belts to survive another year under Kenneth. changed my mind about boycotting games, let's all get down Elland Road and make the place rock with our anger. Believable12 Unbelievable4

I am doing something,i'm staying away. If a few thousand more did the same Bates would soon sign up.

Agree2 Disagree0

He's put a decent first team together but I can't agree about the squad. The backup looks thinner than last year. Let's hope there aren't too many injuries and suspensions and let's hope the takeover actually does happen before the January window.
