Can see us doing what Forest did last year , have a shocker. Season after promotion push ?

Believable10 Unbelievable0

19 Nov 2012 22:39:36
A lot of money was put into the Forest team. But that is not an excuse for the crap performance by some ( half the team) of the Leeds players.

Agree2 Disagree0

Can't remember us having promotion push last season,we finished mid table, they got beat in play offs before there bad season.

Fimpong gone to charlton! Would of been good

Believable4 Unbelievable0

19 Nov 2012 22:42:08
We don't want to be a team for comeback players to use as a spring board. We have many young players that NW should be playing instead of his old boys.

Agree2 Disagree4

19 Nov 2012 20:47:41
Warnock looking to bring in "one or two" more before Thursday. F*ck that, the only players worth keeping at the moment are Diouf, Byram, Austin and McCormack (and maybe Becchio). Apart from that we need a whole new bloody team. I think it's time to wave this season goodbye and along with it Mr Warnock. I hope I'm wrong, but if we're going to push for promotion this season, it needs to start on Saturday!

Believable5 Unbelievable4

1 or 2 I thought we needed 4 or 5.

Agree4 Disagree0

I'll be amazed if we manage 60 points this season. I can feel a relegation battle looming not the play offs.

Agree5 Disagree1

Lees and Pearce have been good this year

Agree6 Disagree0

Lees has been okay but I have been v disappointed with Pearce I was expecting him to be able to win a header ot two!

Agree4 Disagree7

So Pearce isnt worth keeping? or Green? Hall you havent seen enough of yet both times he has played he has played in a team that has had either 9 or 10 men for most of the time he was on pitch if not all of it. Also only maybe becchio because he is by far our top scorer and one of the few players to show loyalty to us. Yet when our best players leave they 'have no loyalty' it works the other way you know we are quick enough to say players arent good enough on a run of 1 or 2 bad games and want them out arent we..

Agree0 Disagree1

Wow Lees okay but pearce very disappointing? he has been by far the best centre half i have seen at leeds since the premiership days..

Last week we were told 72 hours .... What time zone do our new owners live in .... You can be assured of one thing , we will have the best ground in div 1

If only we owned our ground

I'm done .... Until bates has gone I'm not spending anouther penny .... Yes'm sure there wil plenty of you with something to say , but I've been going for 30 years and I'm sorry but bates has worn me down and if you can't see what's happening then fine , keep giving him your money ..... There is in investment or players coming into our club untill 2013 , it's time you all woke up , ates understand and cares about one thing .... Money , he had enough of mine !

Believable8 Unbelievable2

19 Nov 2012 19:13:45
If we sign clint hill I really have to question warnocks thinking.ok he might be Half decent defender but it's quality in midfield, pace and creativity we are missing.i thought if 2 were coming in this week we could at last look forward to a change of game tactics, instead of hoof hoof.
Mccormack back is A big plus but a defender will make hardly any difference if the ball is going to keep coming back.
For gods sake give us something to brighten the outlook.show us something that will actually say we are going to give this league a better go.
Shrew leeds

Believable13 Unbelievable2

Finally Hall was given a start, only for the ball to be hoofed up to or around the oppositions penalty area, it's the same every week it wouldn't be so bad if we had a 6'6 striker who could put is head on it.

Agree5 Disagree0

Yes we do need players going forward, but we do need to sort out defence (say it every season for past 9 years), 29 leaky goals in 17 games, not a great record.

Agree5 Disagree0

19 Nov 2012 22:48:44
NW has brought in his own men. he cant complain I am sure all the players he brought in are on decent wages compared to most of the teams in the championship.

19 Nov 2012 18:42:16
Well done Neil you have today officially confirmed we are in a relegation fight, you have taken us from top 10 to relegation fodder, you overrated of a man, some of you might not agree but when he comes out and says we have to concentrate on getting away from relegation zone that means he's thinking relegation.

Believable11 Unbelievable4

Do you not think he was just stating the obvious??

Agree5 Disagree1

He took us from top 10? the season that he came in we werent top 10 was we?

Agree0 Disagree2

Next 3 games:
Crystal Palace,Leicester City,Uddersfield Town

If we dont get at least 4 points from these games, sorry but Warnock has definately gotta go

Believable5 Unbelievable4

If the takeover happens it will be all change for the better . bates took away our hopes and dreams without them theres no point being a footy fan . all the man understands is money , either he doesnt realise he has broke our hearts or he does but doesnt give or s--t or most probably he realises it and is enjoying it .

Agree2 Disagree1

This time it's not bates fault, why would he put money in when he's selling,it's gfh who are dragging there heels.

Agree3 Disagree2

I agree with the OP. Even if Warnock gets money I'm not sure he knows what to do with it. He had lots at QPR in the prem, but didn't really spend in the right way.

Agree1 Disagree1

Original poster. We will be lucky to get 1 .

Agree0 Disagree0

For me we have to be looking for 6 points however realistically i can only see 2 points and to lose to the dingles will be the final straw and a very embarrassing and disappointing season!! if we get only 2 points then i expect us to stay above the relegation zone for the rest of the season but only just,if the take over happens i feel warnock has to go anyway, new broom sweeps clean for me!! sorry colin you gotta go!

Fed up of having my life put on hold and having sleepless nights over a club that i love but unfortunately doesn't seem to love me back. still its all worth it in my eyes, roll on january!

Believable7 Unbelievable0

Roll on January is only the correct attitude if the TO completes. It's not forced to happen yet.

Agree1 Disagree0

19 Nov 2012 15:23:24
Even with a takeover, a generous January transfer kitty and money well spent in the window we'd be doing brilliantly to make it to the play-offs. It's not where we are in the table now that concerns me its where we will be by Xmas. Don't see us making up a 20 points gap between January and May. Plus the other problem will be do we acquire these excellent players in the first or the last week of January? Too late. Season over.

Believable15 Unbelievable0

And our festive form is usually dreadful.

Agree6 Disagree0

But on a positive note our after christmas form is usually only dire and our end of season form of recent years has even scaled the heights of poor, so, as someone once sang, things can only get better!

How Can people say the Varney red card was harsh you can't look at a player then raise your arm in his face because common sence the player will roll around on the floor screaming. I don't think it made a difference as i did't know he was on the pitch until the red card incident, he is dreadful. Also not just Varney but others need to realise who they are playing for.

Believable7 Unbelievable6

I agree with you in terms of the card but up until that point he was playing really well. He ha won every header and was causing a real issue to them. He is getting better and on the wing he is effective. Get off his back.

Agree5 Disagree2

You allways look when you ARE BACKING IN TO PLAYER

Agree2 Disagree0

You are talking BULL!! Varney worked hard and played well if you ask me. He tracked back and won the ball back for us and if he had still been on the pitch he would have tracked wood at the back post which McCormack should've done.
Lee MOT

Agree5 Disagree1

I see it is a positive sending off. At least the useless lemming can't play for another 3 matches;hallelujah!

Agree4 Disagree6

He was the best player against southampton which i believe is the first real chance he has had in the position he says is his favourite.. he caused watford problems and won a pen even when we was down to 9 men, and he worked his socks off. Thing is you are one of the many Leeds fans that saw him have a bad game against Wolves and decided that he isnt good and you aren't man enough to admit you are wrong.

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Nov 2012 14:23:45
the season is over just hope we can stay up and mount a challenge for next season..sick of saying that

Believable10 Unbelievable1

I think I have to agree. Actually think that even with some miracle we went up this season we'd come straight back down, we need serious investment and 5-6 quality players to be able to maintain and sustain a premiership challenge.

Agree3 Disagree4

I think 5-6 is a but of an understatement. I'm seriously struggling to think of the other 5-6 we'll keep to make a first 11, let alone a squad.

Anyway, before we get ahead of ourselves lets make a squad that can get into a top 6 place.

This is the worst Leeds side playing the worst football for over 40 years.
It won't matter whAt player you play in what position, only 3 or 4 of them should be wearing the Leeds shirt anyway.
It has nothing to do with luck, it's the team
We are not playing well, don't know how to play well
Stop making excuses Neil. Leave while we still have a chance of avoiding relegatiOn.
Who was the manager Grayson replaced? The one that really got hudds promoted? Or di canio or Gus or anybloodybody!
Money helps but you have to know how to Play good football to spend it wisely.

Believable3 Unbelievable7

Absolute rot. The team that went down to division three was worse and the 1996 side wasn't much better.

Think of the dross that has stepped on to ER - Kerslake, White, Brolin, Deane, Palmer, Worthington, Rachubka (ok he's still here), Sa, Rush, Elding, Hateley etc etc....

LR, Northants

Agree0 Disagree3

Leave big Deano out of it!

Agree2 Disagree1

LR, Northants what are you on, Brian Dean was a good player and Palmer also, and dont forget what Brolin put back into the club from pie takings..

Frimpong to Charlton on loan. Ideal replacement for Rudy. WHY arent we in the running for such players

Believable7 Unbelievable0

Cos there's NO MONEY I repeat NO MONEY...so unfortunately that's why!

Agree1 Disagree0

I amongst a lot of fans were raving about GfH a while back but according to the Indapendant, a newspaper which normally give a fair article on Leeds are saying they want to pay Bates 17 million this year and if we go up the premier league inflation money will go to Ken if we don't go up were screwed basically with GFH and if we do were screwed in the prem

19 Nov 2012 13:24:54
Owen Coyle anyone? Plays good football and has experience of of getting a team up and premiership experience

Believable1 Unbelievable12

I mentioned him the other day. He was
wonderful with Fabrice Muamba. However I think we may be getting ahead of
ourselves - I hear NW may have signed
Clint Hill. Come on come on. GFH if you
are reading this GET A WRIGGLE ON. The
papers were sent to the FA on Friday - have they got lost in the post or what?

i was just love to get tim cahill he's looking to play football obviouslylike to go back everton its he's preferred club but he's lookin to play somewhere? since its he's off season! no chance though i'd say!
irish leeds fan!

Believable6 Unbelievable0

I agree - I would love to see him at Leeds, however I agree that it won't happen. I haven't seen much of him in the MLS since he's moved, but I was surprised that Everton let him go for as little as they did. Still a quality player - especially given his age.

19 Nov 2012 13:20:34
I reckon this whole take over process is a huge smokescreen so that Bates doesn't have to put his hand in his pocket. Just so convenient that there is delay after delay and Bates is guiding them though the ways of how a football club should be run. Whatever!

Believable5 Unbelievable1

Why would he do that? it would make no sense at all to destroy your own business, you are obviously just a Bates hater making stuff up.

im 47 and been a leeds supporter for 40 yrs been through gd and bad times with leeds utd . i am asking all loyal leeds fans to get behind nw and his players get your arses back at er andmake it the fortress its been for years. we are leeds and we will be back its not money we need its all of us getting behind them lets start by filling er and show our team we believe in them and then they will believe too its not too late ino and uno we can still get promoted back in big time but we have to help too .forget about the takeover and put your time and back the manager and his team i travel 200 milesto our home games and if i can do it we all can i am also disabled leeds will be back and we all need to play a big part in theway upand love leeds utd what ever to the end

We were not playing great before the Hillsborough disgrace but since then the team has not performed at all. Ill disciplined, no vision and no cutting edge. I think, as I said at the time, that night knocked the stuffing out of the team who I fear have lost respect for the fans - if they are not negative chanting they are being offensive. They are easy targets for other fans who just wind them up and watch them perform. The whole thing is a mess and the atmosphere around Elland Road
is poor - for all sorts of reasons. Hillsborough was the final straw. The fans dont learn either - Chanting 'Bates Out' when Rudy was being carried off just one example. It was a while before they woke up and realised what they should have been doing. The team don't deserve the team and vice versa. Hope something happens to turn it around.

Believable2 Unbelievable3

We have had 1 good preformance all season and that was against everton... the games we have won and drawn we have been lucky... you say the "team dont deserve it" dont you think the fans deserve better ?? ive paid £540 for my season ticket and people that turn up are paying around £30 so its us that deserve beter im afraid.

Lee Bowyer's a free agent. Is he worth bringing in for some experience and cover?

Believable6 Unbelievable15

19 Nov 2012 10:41:40
give yourself a shake......

Tonge- you are not a freekick specialist, leave some for others

Beechio- your feet need to leave the floor to challenge for a header

Varney- didn't deserve the red, but try and keep the elbows still

Warnock- the hoof game is not working, trhy and vary our style or go

Bates- you just shake your sen- start high with a firm grip

Millwall fans- give over with Instanbul chants and attempted intimadation, its outdated

some Leeds fans- don't get sucked in by the opposition numpties

London underground- why shut Bermondsy for the 1 day- walking in the middle of a main road back to Syrrey quays, different.

Some posters on here- if a person decides they no longer wish to attend elland road at inflated prices- it is their right

GFH- get on with it or move aside

OK, a long rant but after a 15 hour capital venture yesterday - i reckon i deserve it

Believable12 Unbelievable3

Becchio.. i suggest we quit the ongoing long ball and try and play it to his feet, is best asset is holding the ball up.

Agree4 Disagree0

Nt sure that passing to 'touch of a rhino' Becchio's feet is a tactic worth exploring.

warnock post match comments against millwall are really worrying. He quotes,( i cant fault the lads i thought we played well) if he honestly thinks we played well he has the blinkers on and will obviously play the same tactics. He needs to take a look at his himself, players and his tactics before blaming officials every week its tedious. I am genuinly very worried about staying in the league.

Believable11 Unbelievable1

He might think they played well for the standard of player we have available at the moment .

They did play well ,even with 10 men, you a leeds fan or just a f*****g person

19 Nov 2012 09:47:08
I am not saying this cos we are on a slump I am saying this cos I feel we need a change! I think warnock should step down and let a young up and coming manager take over.
First his tatics are outdated
Second "his" team are average and I know he said he had restraints but look at the free players who we could have had.
Thirdly we have no cutting edge we went from free scoring to being unable to hit a bulls backside with a banjo.
I want what's best for leeds!

How FICKLE are some of the so called Leeds United fans on this site!! The mans(NW)hands are tied but he has put some respect back into the team. The result against Watford was a freak one and all with 9 men for more than half the match. As for those clamering for Grayson - YOU HAVE GOT TO BE ON SOMETHING? COME AARNN NEIL! Its a marathon not a sprint.

Believable10 Unbelievable7

Is that you NW?

Agree5 Disagree4

Freak result, what like the Forest result last season?

Since YOU mention Grayson, the facts are that NW has a 27% win ratio since he arrived against a 35% for Grayson (just the last poor season, lot higher if you include seasons before) and before you say not his team, he has a 29% win ratio this season (his team).

Not asking for Grayson back, but lets not rewrite history and pretend NW is performing any better, because he is not!

Agree4 Disagree3

Look at what NW inherited from SG(Not all SG fault - similar problems to what NW has now). NW had to get rid of players who were at best 1st division average players. The squad had at best 2 or 3 championship standard players in it - so how can you expect NW to deliver at this early stage. Thwe players he has been able to attract to Leeds United are is 3rd/4th choice because not only has Leeds become such a joke under Grayson putting off all reasonable quality players even when we get a sniff of a good one they would rather go to sub standard clubs like Huddrsfield than come to a club ran by Bates not to mention being paid peanuts. Whilst I believe SG had similar problems I think as a defender he had us defending like school kids and had lost the belief of his substandard squad. I for one cant blame the Norwich midfield for leaving!! Whilst everything isn't as black and white as I'm making out I feel if there is a takeover and funds are availible NW is the man to turn things around.

so...the so called die hard fan base has switched its target. no longer is cuddly Ken the anti-christ, it is now GHFC. I have been a leeds fan since 1968, through the good and the great and never before have I seen such a fickle, whinging, blame seeking mob. Can nobody accept that we are simply a crap team and the blame cannot be levelled at any one factor. We will be back, better and stronger but...for god's sake change the record !

Believable8 Unbelievable4

The so called whinging fans have seen a massive decline under the stewardship of neil warnock fact! Look at the wins losses and draws, more losses and draws and a team that couldent score in a brothel.Takeover or not neil has changed the team so mutch he doesnt no how to play them. Paddy kenny the best goalkeeper in the football league dont make me laugh we have a better keeper on bench.

Agree6 Disagree2

Agree poster , just a bunch of whinging persons, i've supported leeds for 46 years, thru good and bad, and always will , warnocks our manager, i WILL support him and his team

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Nov 2012 09:03:18
in my opinion, give warnock a chance. Start of the season we was doing pretty well to be fair, then injuries and supensions came in,

kenny is a great goalkeeper at this level
pearce is good
lees is good
drury is a good left back
byram is a great right back
austin good midfielder
mccormack great goalscorer
becchio in my eyes not brilliant but others think hes good

my point is when all of these are fit/not suspended we do have a pretty damn good foundation, and the money spent was peanuts, weve got ryan hall whos not fully fit according to warnock, diouf whos a little slow but as a late sub would hold the ball up well, and in warnocks defense "varney was brought in as a squad player" i belive warnock said so obvs he thought he was also getting that extra money for better players, but on the other hand it is the worst ive seen leeds play for a long time so

if the takeover isn't completed by Thursday all fans should boycott the home games for rest of season .we still have a slim chance of a playoff spot if things happen now .it only takes a string of 4 or 5 wins and we would be right back in there .

Believable3 Unbelievable11

If fans boycott the games, the takeover may never happen and we'll be in a relegation battle

Ill be Leeds until I die they are in my blood and always will be. We know this will turn round and those who want to boycott cos of Bates... Silly! We dont supprot Bates or the board we support the team and they need us..
