Still being a relatively young pup I'm looking to the more experienced campaigners for the answer. Does it get easier supporting Leeds? Because I'm struggling.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed013's Note - nope!}

But it might get more interesting!

Agree0 Disagree0

Only gets harder I'm afraid, although there are one or two seasons of light relief in among the rubbish and boredom.

Agree0 Disagree0

It does get better leeds will raise again and we will be all the more grateful. it is easy supporting an arsenal or man u but proper fans support proper clubs. you are not a fan until you have seen your team draw 1-1 and cheltham and lose to hereoford. its all about the ups and downs at the moment we are down but going the right way son keep chin up

Just got home from watching a shocker of a game.
Brighton could have actually played without a keeper it was that poor, post match interview with Hockaday was more confusing than our tactics, he said the season is going to be a rollercoaster, on tonights performance it wiil be more downs than Ups.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

More likely to be a donkey derby than a roller coaster.

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Aug 2014 22:58:58
Rooney and van Persie wouldn't score in this team. No creativity and a manager with hopeless tactics. In his post match interview he said we changed our formation to counteract theirs. FFS we are at home let them change their tactics to suit ours. Apparently Cellino can gauge a Manager in 3 games so I would imagine a defeat at Watford and it's ta ra.

OK. So, went to ER tonight! Wasn't much else going on of interest, so I decided to concentrate on 1 player and watch his effort/attitude etc. In no way blaming him for tonight's woeful performance, but I'll give my match summary in 3 words:

Taxi for Sam!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed013's Note - Byram did ok in the second half}

True Ed, but didn't you get the impression he might just have been concentrating a little too much on avoiding injury? And admittedly the service to him was poor - although not quite sure why he kept putting his hand up for the ball when it was 75 yards away. (By the way, not knocking him - he's my fave player - just think his heart is now somewhere else. And apparently, for those who do tw**ter, he's following Connor Wickam on there. Does that mean owt?)

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed013's Note - No player wants injury and I imagine a lot of players follow Wickham, as do the fans due to his time at Leeds. I can't even see him being at Sunderland past this transfer window}

How was tonight's performance. I know of course the result was not great but at this stage I think the performance is far more important. with new coach and players we are bound to be inconsistant but wondering if there was lack of passion and game plan. what also worries me most is bad marking and comical defending (I know we kept clean sheet at borough but they did score a goal and the defending for that was so so schoolboy and hope that gets irradicated). So was tonight more millwall or borough or maybe mix of the two?

Agree0 Disagree0

The most worrying for me was the fact that last nights performance matched most of the home defeats of last season, nothing seems to have changed, we played so deep and negative 1st half, it was that bad that there keeper was standing most of the match stood 10 yards from the halfway line.
If anything the players lacked belief of their own ability.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sam had more of the ball second half but didn't have it in him to get past their left back, a lack of belief in himself, or was his mind elsewhere?

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Aug 2014 22:13:45
Pathetic performance. So much for "Fortress Elland Road" there should be a sign outside the players entrance saying "will all visiting teams please pick up your 3 points on the way out". 10 players in, Antenucci, Adryan etc rumored as new signings. You could bring in Messi, but until the mentality changes and the desire to win or at least compete no amount of players will drag this team out of the doldrums of unenterprising, lifeless and dire Football.

goodluck hockadoo you have no clue one shot on target you kidding me at HOME haven't the words to express how annoyed I am right now!
MC get that check book and spend some of mccormack money forget bout buying the stadium why should we if we have nothing but a weak team to play in it!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I did not see tonight but this is how I felt after millwall game. I had a right downer on Hockaday but borough performance made me feel bit better even though we created very little and were lucky not to conceed. how bad was tonight? and what was bad (or what was positive?)

19 Aug 2014 21:41:19
Oh dear, our midweek home form has not changed. Still three points there for anyone who wants it.

19 Aug 2014 21:39:19
2-0 down now at home and absolutely battered by the sound of things at the time of writing five minutes to go and one shot on target at home this has a familiar ring to it from last season, however I want to be constructive as it is early in the season and we are rebuilding still but to me there are at least four players therefore over a third of the side that should not be starting. Firstly I think making Pearce captain was a mistake he may have been one of our best players last year but to be captain you need to be a player who at the very least will be a definite starter, I don't feel with our squad now that he is, as I believe Bellusci and Cooper are better players, Pearce looks like a scared rabbit with the ball at his feet and has no great pace to help him out. In midfield Austin I know splits opinion but for me no skill, guile or goals in him cannot be a starter if other players come in. Thirdly Tonge no pace has got a goal in him and sometimes can make things happen but not good enough all round for a team wanting to get promoted.

Lastly Smith again a prospect who is strong in the air but all round game needs a big improvement to be a starter again in a side wanting to challenge the big teams in the division. I can hope that MC can get more players in we still need for me three quality players and then when everybody is available the team should be strong, we cannot I believe be top 6 we are in a state of change around the whole club and will take a season to bed in but tonight's performance was a worrying one.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Agree re Pearce. Whatever else he is, he's no leader. I think when the Italians settle in, one of them will be captain

Hello all,

Can anybody give me advice on how to follow our games from abroad. I'm living overseas ATM, and even find it difficult to stream the radio coverage.

I appreciate that LUTV subsription gives you live radio coverage, but it doesn't do live video according to the site, unless I'm mistaken.

Any advice welcome :)

Haven't seen the game but bringing off sharp 9 minutes from time when we need a goal? Has he being useless or what?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Not useless, just nobody capable of passing the ball to him

Message for the Hock. Your silence speaks volumes. You are completely out of your depth. I am straight to the bookies in the morning for odds on you gone by October. A word of advice, put the bottle of water down and sort your team out!
Clueless.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I got odds of 12-1 I did put the bet on the day we signed him and my bet is out before january transfer window shuts. I have been very critical (over critical maybe) but can not stand the guy and think his record is a joke however borough performance brought him some time from me after millwall disgrace if tonight was the same I do wonder how much time he has left? that said there is a lot of change so it might take time to bed in. just hope passion marking and comical defending gets sorted soon and attacking game plan follows. I will give hock a chance but I do fear my first thoughts were correct.

Agree0 Disagree0

Probably lucky to get 12-1 on after tonight chief. I thought about giving him a chance but after watching him him tonight and listening to his tosh, there more chance of plaiting fogg than going anywhere with this jester!

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't forget his middle name is pressure,,, just as well

Looks like we will get a mullering tonight, we still need the players MC is after. starting with Antenucci and Adryan

Believable0 Unbelievable0

19 Aug 2014 21:38:31
Looks like the hock is not wanting to play the foreign lads - Bennidichi & Doukara (maybe injured) are not even on the bench, Bellusci bench warming - only using Bianchi and Silvestri and keeps with the old guard Tongue, Austin and brings on Ajose - long season ahead

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed013's Note - Doukara is injured for a few weeks}

Weve known that all along, there's guys on here will delight on us losing again, but i'm still reserving judgement until we have all the players we want, and had time to work together, ven the hock deserves more time, wether he gets it though looking at Cellinos past is anybodys guess.

Agree0 Disagree0

Rhino- don't be so silly, this is a leeds fans site no one on here wants to see leeds lose let alone delight in it. however we are a passionate bunch and get upset when what we see we feel is blow par. Ask any leeds fan want the revie glory days back they will say yes. ask them fancy another go in league 1 they will say no. Just we might get upset. I was furious after millwall game and delighted after borough. I can't handle losing but it is how we are losing which might worry or anger some fans. Positive or negitive we all want leeds to do well

19 Aug 2014 20:30:15
Good god. Has anyone seen the stats? This isn't defeat, this is destruction. Brighton have had nearly 70% of the ball.

Back down to earth with a bump then :-(

Agree0 Disagree0

Should never have started with Murphy, Tonge and Austin. It's near enough the same midfield that let us down so often last season. They can't control a game. They should be squad players, not regular starters.

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Aug 2014 23:25:26
You are right Mr Happy. Ever since Austin got that horrific injury not same player. He is league 1 standard now. Murphy simply isn't good enough he does cut it at this level but we require better and Tonge ought to be a squad player. Bianchi Cook should be certain starters with Dawson next in line. However, the real problem is we need a number 4 to protect the creative midfielders and protect the back 4. We don't have such a player. If none are available in our budget we need to find a better way of playing. Should we get him Adryan will undoubtedly make us better but we still need a defensive midfielder.

Agree0 Disagree0

Not often people tell me I'm right, can I frame that? It'll look great on my wall.

If that borough goal had been allowed we would of be thrashed. I think we will be found out tonight that we are a mess still.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

True but it was good how we held on and kept going, might be bit hit and miss for a while, that is to be expected (that said I did say hock out on the day he signed and if I was there would of made a nice big F''k off banner) still give him a chance and hope we improve doubt mc will give hock much time his record doesn't seem to suggest he will anyway

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Aug 2014 17:33:15
Ed- any idea if Bellusci can play tonight?

In reply to an earlier post. Has MC got a salary cap in place? Some seem to think he has and I was wondering what it is and how the hell is it known that he has. I imagined that a business man of his experience would judge each player on merit and it would be foolish to draw a line at a certain amount and be unwilling to negotiate. There is more to a contract than salary. Team, individual and goalscoring bonuses are prevalant in players contracts. It just seems strange that MC, with all his flambuoyancy, would be so black and white when it comes to contracts, even after the mess he inherited. But what do I know how the man does his business, unlike some who seem to have inside knowledge. MOT.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

19 Aug 2014 19:15:54
Of course MC has imposed a salary cap. In reality, all clubs do. There's always the economic realities. MC advertising he has a salary cap is therefore not harmful at all. It's also a useful ploy in negotiations as it allows Cellino to discover who truly wants to join and play for the shirt and who is more focussed on the money such as Agard. Agard IMO poorly advised because if you get a rep as a money grabber early on in your career you will put off many clubs unless you are a worldbeater. Agard ain't world class yet. Cellino playing it perfectly with all his negotiations. Once the window shuts watch him turn his attentions to re-acquiring ER.

i can definitely see MC paying 5mil for this kid because he knows todays market in britain is crazy stupid money if this kid shines which no doubt that he will get it back 5 fold in year or two that you can be sure of our Don is no mug would you agree edd?
loving the optimism my fello supporters think positive and positive things happen simples! MOT

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed013's Note - He will pay what is necessary and if its 5 million then he knows in a couple of season time he could be worth 10-15 million}

I am the pinnacle of Leeds optimism this season, but I can't see the 'New Kaka' getting signed up! His amazing talent is splashed all over the news & I can't believe a Prem club won't muscle in on the deal? So hope I'm wrong, because he could get us up, with the rest of the signings! MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Aug 2014 19:18:02
Ed, try could be worth 25 to 30 million. This boy can play.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed013's Note - Time will tell}

I hope he will sign and sorry to be negitive but if you were new kaka would you sign for championship club with our coach and also considering we don't really look or expect to be top half this season? new kaka probably has better options wage cap or not. Sorry to be negitive but can't see this coming off and think another viviana and sorenson is on the cards at best

All these rumours about players
Yknow, I don't think money ( within reason ) has got anything to do with it!
I think if mc thinks a player has guts and loyalty, he will pay his worth!
He has a few bob mcc but like most wealthy people, he knows value for money!
Oh and
Had to get friend in uk to get them cause website wouldn't allow me to. But
Got me and boy tickets for family stand. Bolton game!
First in 18 yrs. maybe I will do a streak. Just like old times.

Wolves midfielder Kevin McDonald has snubbed a move to Leeds believing it to be a 'step down' and has declared his happiness at playing for a 'club with ambition'. McDonald said he had no interest at all in playing at Elland Road.

Dave Hockaday has moved on to target Scottish midfielder Scott Brown. (The Daily Prophet).

no no no please no

Agree0 Disagree0

That has got to be a gauntlet thrown down and reason to stuff them home and away. I like to be realistic and think we and not anywhere near promotion favorites, nor are we the biggest team (in terms of finaces and current history) however wolves were league one team and I think we are bigger than them. fair play to the lad for loyatly (if leeds player said that we would all like him for saying it) however they are not bigger and up to the players to show that with a couple of 4-0 wins

Agree0 Disagree0

McDonald needs to build a reputation before he starts looking down at clubs

Agree0 Disagree0

To be fair wolves are a big club in history, good fan base and was in the PL recently so no issue with that.

If a player does not want to come fine, if I was him I would also play o my fanbase as any Leeds player would do if they have any sense.

We only want players who want to come so will move on and let's hope we can turn them over twice (they are strong at home mind). Looking forward to game later, taking my 10 year old and of course he wants the new shirt (groan), don't mind the prices so much it is those shop day queues!
Did anyone else notice on Sat the lack of stuff in the tuck shop, lack of staff and of course late opening of gates? Is the gates thing a MC tactic or cause we saving money on when staff have to get to ground?

Anyway confident of another 1-0 tonight, defence looked solid on Sat let's hope that continues.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hope your right VOICE, Brighton on the back of 2 defeats will be smarting somewhat ;)

Luke James 19 year old striker put in transfer request, type of player we could take a chance on. Young goal scorer, bit of interest in him.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

19 Aug 2014 08:58:43
Is it just me or does anyone else think that the longer this Adryan saga drags on, the more likely we are not to get him? If any other club were unaware of him, they certainly are now. If he has rejected the Salford prawn sandwich brigade in the past, surely a lower Premiership team would be interested in him. Is this just another example of an agent trying to get a better price for his client (and himself)? Sorry to sound sceptical and I have my fingers crossed on this one as I believe we could be genuine contenders with the signings we've already made and this boy.

MM

* Hopefully by the time this post appears, we have our man!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

He's on loan to one club & owned by another, so the deal is bound to be complicated? My concern, is the reference to the 'new Kaka' all over the press before we get his signature.
MC appears to be the king of negotiation, so fingers crossed. MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree I can't see this one coming off. might just be a bit out of our league at the moment with prem teams bound to be sniffing and looks like agent trying to get better 'prem' deal. still always the next guy and if it does come off amazing. nice to be in for these people as oppose to the out of countract journey men. it shows abition to fans and players which leads to positivity and other possible targets might be more inclined to join and team with ambition so in a way kind of win win either way

Agree0 Disagree0

Couldn't agree more . The ambition of MC is apparently to all but the constant doom n gloom merchants! They won't be happy unless Don Revie is reincarnated!! Cellino is going for the type of player we couldn't dream of signing in the last decade . We might not get all our targets ,and the fact I am disses appointed when we don't indicates the level at which we are trying to operate . Usually got all our targets before because no on else wanted them . To sell our best player and replace him with six or seven must needed replacemts to build the team is a massive contrast to selling the star and filling team full of rubbish free signings while the owners pocket the dish

Agree0 Disagree0

19 Aug 2014 00:07:28
Matt Smith signs a new 3 year contract! Definitely in MC's plans MOT

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Lets hope if he's got a new contract he starts to earn it, he needs to make more runs off the ball and chase and squeeze defenders. Matt take a leaf out of Rudis book mate, not the most gifted player but his commitment and desire to close oposition down is second to none.

Agree0 Disagree0

Smith cost no fee and scored 12 goals last season - get off his back

Agree0 Disagree0

Didnt smith get 16 last season. which was 12 more than I thought he would get. think he is doing well. only worry is hock wants to keep ball on deck and play with pace. not really smiths strength and he might struggle with out ross to play off of and ross was behind most of smiths goals last season I think?

Agree0 Disagree0

Hock will use him as a plan B, when "ball on the deck" isn't suitable.

Learnt from last year when BMD played with wingbacks some games if was great. Others we got exposed.

Agree0 Disagree0

I know you admit when you're wrong berm white but just wondering
Have leeds ever done or bought someone you instantly liked?

Agree0 Disagree0

Richard
Dont matter how much he cost us.

I contribute to his wages, good wages EVERY week so he should come off the pitch knackered. Take a look at Warnock saturday mate he was wet threw, Austin gets abuse but ALWAYS puts a shift in.
If Smith puts the same effort in these 2 lads do he would get 20 goals.
