Not making excuses but we have being beaten or drawn with teams who are all in the top six currently. Think we have had the most difficult opening six games of any team in this league so far. I think if we are to play some teams on similar level so far to us in terms of positioning and points and some of the top teams were to take points off each other then we will be back in the mix come january time. When hopefully the takeover has gone through or Bates will realise that investing a few million into the team will with Warnock as the helm is a surefire way to promotion. Although I doubt the latter.

Quite shocked to see the number of fans on here wanting to see the back of Warnock already! Give the guy a break we're only 6 games in- A lot can change yet. Theres People talking like we may as quit for this season already. I understand peoples frustrations, but saying sod it to this season while its still in its infancy is completely the wrong attitude.
Keep your chins up guys!

Believable9 Unbelievable1

If you went to E.R tonight you shouldn't be, warnock picked favourites for the starting line up instead of fresh legs. over run again by a mobile midfield, team looked tired after 15mins and lacked composure and confidence, poleon came on and gave us more thrust, grey came on and scored. nuff said. Ps TONGE IS A WASTE OF MONEY.

Agree1 Disagree6

Agreed mate, he's working with very limited resources and a cloud over the club in the form of the takeover. He's never been a huge spender BUT I'm sure in an ideal world and with more budget, he'd have 5-6 more players in at least so as there isn't a massive panic like we have now Becchio also appears to be injured as well as Ross, same with the midfield with Green & Norris. I'm 100% he's the man for the job and given time, faith and some cash, he'll get us up

Agree4 Disagree1

More like bates out ive had enough and so has every other leeds fan just get the hell out of are club you money grabbing parasite and let all the fans get back to what they do best supporting the team

Agree5 Disagree0

Picked favourites? who else was he supposed to pick?

Agree2 Disagree2

Why do you think Warnock's still managing in the lower leagues with all that experience? It's because he's not very good. Some of us were against him from the start by the way and have been saying all along that his style and his transfers are all wrong.

i can't beleive we're struggling to make a couple of loan signings never mind permanent transfers (which there are still good one's out there) players sold in the summer came to approx 4 mill with incoming players costing approx 2mill so how can we possibly not have the funds. bates is bleeding this club dry not only of funds but success. the most frustrating part is, nobody seems to have any answers.. bates out NOW

Believable4 Unbelievable0

Now more than ever is the time for the fans to come together and do what it takes to remove the chelsea from the club we cannot continue to let him divide the fans even further time for a change we are the only ones that can make the difference!

18 Sep 2012 22:44:20
Not a rumour -fact.
Unless Ken Bates walks out the door soon, attendnaces will continue to plummet, the team will get demoralised and we will be going nowhere fast this season!
It is a monstrousity that the club with such good crowds and high ticket prices cannot even afford a loan players wages or compete with smaller clubs for players. Simply not acceptable. I gave Bates the benefit of the doubt last season thinking that he wasn't convinced that Grayson was spending his money wisely, but now its clear. He is scr.....g us all. I'm an educated man but here goes - Bates OUT!

Believable3 Unbelievable0

18 Sep 2012 22:37:52
Philip hay justed tweeted that Warnock when asked if he'll be on phone tomorrow looking for loan players said he might as well go fishing. Sounds as he is getting brasses off and there obviously no money at all. Complete and utter disaster for me how can should a small number of people over the last 14 years completely screw up our football club. It's about time we took over the place. If this was at lazio there would be rioting and mass arrests. I'm now fxxxking pxxxsed off

7 points from possible 18 so far languishing around 14th in table now.

How many people here genuinely still believe we're going up?

Please no excuses about Warnock's hands being tied with regards to funds because a lot of people were saying we had a great chance of going up anyway regardless of the "takeover".

Now with a couple of injuries that will be the latest excuse to defend Warncok.

By the way 6 league games 1 clean sheet that doesn't seem like our leaky defence has been sorted out.

Overall I honestly would like to know what exactly Warnock has brought to us?

- more wins than defeats?

- clean sheets?

- free flowing football?

Sadly I don't think he's brought anything to us but only 6 games gone I'd love him to turn it around and prove me wrong.

I know that this may not be popular with most people and most of you will just say will mention the same things1) it wasn't warnock's team, 2) bates gives him no money, 3) the distraction of the takeover. But i think that we may want to have a look at warnock's record at leeds (not including cup games) so far just for a change of all the recent topics: played: 20 won:5 drawn:5 lost:10 and of this results home- won: 2 drawn:2 lost:6. In looking at this i have to say that this is pretty poor record and even though he has had to sell to spend Warnock has easily spent 2-3mill on players and there has to be some players on a high wage (peltier, norris, kenny and others) and some of those he has brought in have been extremely average whether they are so-called squad players or not as they seem to be getting a lot of game time due to a small squad. So even though i am desperate for bates to go i think that there has to be improvement on the managerial front and not just silly spending of hopeful money as there are players to be bought for a bargain if you have a manger that can spot them i.e matt phillips 250,000 and tom ince for a similar sum, if not there needs to be a change and a new young manager in with positive tactics and an eye for a good young player not just 30+ year old journey players( karl robinson, paul tidsdale, dougie freedman or a young coach from another team)

I doesn't make a differece who we get. It's not the manager that needs changing, its the owner. If you can not see that, then you will be saying the samething with the next one. No input, no promotion, it's simple.

18 Sep 2012 21:52:32
Why won't the takeover happen, the team now after the injuries is no better than last year. 2-3 at home. Not promotion worthy. Wouldn't be surprised if Warnock walked and the takeover collapsed because of Warnock leaving. Why won't bated just f##k off out of our club. What is he doing. It doesn't take this long to sort out a takeover. Forests and cardiffs took no time compared to this. You can't say someones not stalling. If we are not in the zone by Christmas relegation is seriously on the cards. Not saying we are going down but if we don't start winning or signing were in trouble. I know you'll say I'm negative and not a real fan but u say that because I'm telling the hard truth. You know we are not capable of promotion at the moment. Religation could be on the cards if we dont book our ideas up!

I said it would happen soon the T/O but now i'm not so sure. Bates is playing this out so he can suck every penny out the club. He tells us these things take time. What he really ment was, these things take time while i'm filling my pockets.

He feeds out little bits of information to make us think he's on are side. He makes out it's always the other people that are holding things up. Which isn't hards to do, when knowbody is aloud to speak in defence. The man is taking us for lollypops. Funny how everton game is coming up. So no chance until after that, with it being a pay day for Bates, not us.

This man will not get another penny. I will not make his pay day any bigger than it should be. People who still think Bates is doin whats best for the club. I question who you actually work for and what your motives are.

After watching this tonight I have decided not to go to Everton , there are 4 reasons for this :

1 the money the club get will go straight into bates bank account £100 odd thousand plus any gate takings especially if as reported the buyout is nearing completion
2 the appalling way bates has tried to get the attendance up by suggesting we mourn Gary speed
3 I think Everton will batter us!
4 it would be good motivation for bates to sell if there's only say 10,000 there, it will send a big message to bates that his time is up.

As for the game tonight I dont think hull were all that but they controlled the game at our place which highlights the complete lack of support from our chairman in finance to the team which is another reason not to go to Everton as he will not put any money into our club until he goes.

I don't think I can take much more of this!
Another season is dissapearing before it's really started and we are so short on quality players.
We are still clinging on to a "Big Club" aura, but soon Leeds will not be an attraction to players.
Already the likes of Brighton, Udders, and even Bristol city are buying better players than us. If we don't get out of this league very soon we may end up stranded in it. Every year it gets tougher and we arn't even challenging near the top.
I have to some extent sided with Bates in the past and commented that we should be grateful we are not in a desperate financial position, but I now agree that we need him out.
A little money(in football terms,2-3 mil) would just give us some bite, but alas the old git won't do it.
Surely a tilt at the prem would be worth the gamble for the return involved.
If I win the euro mill this week end expect a bid for the club, with no indemnity crap , no casino , no new boxes, just some stonking players lol.
I'm off to bed to cry myself to sleep and hope I wake up in a better mood....
Thankyou for listening :)

Can't see warnock sticking around after the shambles tonight his hands are so tied he may as well stand on the touch line with a straight jacket on

Believable8 Unbelievable0

Its you doom and gloom merchants that need the straight jackets,NW wont walk away neither will true supporters,if your not happy f-ck off,the takeover will go through, our injuries will clear, and we will get more players, get behind the team and stick your moans up your ar-e.

Agree1 Disagree6

Not so sure you're right though. I think he wanted the likes of Varney because he likes that style of player. I've always seen Warnock as a dinosaur out of touch with the modern pass and move game and I think his 'kick and rush' style of play has been badly exposed tonight and by the better teams such as Cardiff and Blackpool. Yes he's been working to a budget but so were others before him and they had a much better first 20 games. It's not all down to the money

He brought ten players in over the summer and most of them are woeful frankly. Yes we have a few injuries but that's part and parcel of the game. I've seen nothing in the last 20 games to convince me I was wrong about Warnock and a lot to suggest I was right.
ML

Agree2 Disagree3

Carn't you see, he brought them in on a shoe string budget. Thats why theres no money left. You get what you pay for. !0 players and most teams in this league have bought 1 player for 10.

Agree3 Disagree1

He's had a better budget than Grayson and has managed to lose 10 of his first 20 games. The 'his own players' excuse thrown at me when I've criticised him in the past is no longer valid so now it's all about budget is it? No - he's a poor manager which is why, after all these years, he's never on the shortlists for the clubs at the top or with ambition to get there when they're looking for a manger.

Agree0 Disagree2

Grayson had some good players but over time, they have been sold. Once snoddy was sold and there wasn't enough money to replace him and a full team. What else can you do.

Tonight the tipping point has been made.  The chronic lack of funding in the team has been demonstrated to all. Bates seems to think we should all be patient and get in the real world, as the Take over will take time, well how much time? May rolled by, June slipped under the radar, August disappeared with a final transfer day damp squib, now September dribbles down the pan as kids and weary players attempt to compete against correctly run football clubs. Enough is enough, Champions League prices for League One standard football. I renewed my season ticket believing we had the right manager, a good core group of players, with the hope of Bates gone and "Icing on the cake".

Instead Bates ate the cake! And left the rest of us to scrabble around looking for crumbs of hope.

I was bemoaning Bates to a mate of mine in London who asked me what I'd do different if I owned the club. This got me thinking and knowing some of the great posters on here would love your feed back.

I have to work on averages so please excuse inaccuracies.

First thing. Bates gone new regime feel good factor back

Second. Season tickets £500 if we could get 20,000 season ticket holders = £10M. Capacity 37,900. Leaving 19,700 available.

Individual ticket sales £25 cut off point for buying tickets Friday. Let's say we didn't manage to sell full amount but averaged 10,000 individual sales = £250,000 per game x 24 =£6M.

All the schools are put on a register inviting 49 ( and one teacher to look after the little darlins) from each school who have achieved something in sport or academically and as a reward have a free ticket. If there were 9,700 empty seats that's 194 schools. Kids been kids would buy stuff to eat and drink so there would be Some income.

We wouldn't have the income but we would be bringing on the next set of Leeds united fans who were given a chance to see their team as most parents can't afford it.

If people aren't sitting in seats it's not costing anything so might as well have someone sitting there.

This would always ensure we had a full crowd that was still bringing in good income, the club were putting something back into the community whilst encouraging kids to achieve and creating new support for the future.

If you add on top of that merchandise and gave all the full corporate boxes free advertising for their company in the ground, this also would attract more businesses.

The players could get more involved with schools visiting and mentoring, becoming great role models to the kids. Go back to turning our club into one that cares about the community and puts something back to get back the support not just now but in the future.

Of course someone will shoot me down and say it's not financially viable but we would take more money as opposed to the 23,000 crowds were currently getting and do something good for a change. Philbramley

Believable10 Unbelievable2

Doubling the attendance means doubling every other expenditure, such as catering staff, stewarding, police etc. good idea but could be hard to implement. {Ed001's Note - that isn't actually true, the expenditure does not double necessarily, in very few cases will it do so.}

Agree0 Disagree1

I fully agree with everything you say but your speaking common sense and that is alien to most football clubs. I run my own business and everytime I go to a match it cracks me up (no just because of some of the donkeys we have had playing for us) but because of how badly Leeds is run commercially, it is a joke. Even the simplest things like staff at the bar or concession stands, there is very few so everyone queues up for ages instead of being able to spend their money quickly and easily. Its the same in the Bremner bar, loads of punters and no bloody staff!
I could go on and on but who is listening?
Give me a week in the commercial department at Leeds and I would make about 10 changes which would cost LUFC nothing yet increase turnover. Is it rocket science to realise that a full stadium, even if 10,000 of the tickets are given away for little or nothing, makes for a better atmosphere, benefits the players and increases sales of merchandise??

Oh for new owners with shed loads of spare cash and even better players than Beckford etc etc would be a great birthday present from LUFC!

Hope its not true that reo-Coker is signing for charlton just shows the pulling power we have him and Austin in cm would of been awesome

Believable3 Unbelievable1

Who says we even looked at Reo-Coker? Just because a player is available doesn't mean we ever approached him or wanted him.

Agree0 Disagree1

This is why Bates needs to go. We should be getting these type of players. Please! Don't say he will not be doing this while T/O is going on. Lets face facts. He wouldn't of done it, T/O or no T/O. The mans had his fill and now been found out. Hopefully he'll get his in another life.

Would wager Reo-Coker wanted to return to London after his bad couple of years in Bolton.

Mmmm yer we could afford him on a long contract!! About a week should eat up bates whole wage bill! Will not happen! Lower your sites beckford is a much better fit!

It's Bates's site's that needs lowering. We exspect nothing, so give him nothing. He'll get bored and go away( BIT OF LUCK!)

This may sound a bit extreme....what about turning up to the ground on match days but not entering the stadium. Cheer for our team from outside the ground.
1. The team know that we are behind them.
2. It will make a huge story for the media.
3. Fuch face doesn't get a penny.

Sounds really out there and some probably couldn't be bothered turning up to the ground and not going in, but this would prove to the team that we are with them and only Bates that we are against.

Yes I know a stupid idea, but I don't know how to solve this problem we have.

Believable11 Unbelievable2

You got it, Stupid Idea
Rob MOT

Agree2 Disagree4

I second that got to be the most stupid idea yet

Agree0 Disagree3

I know how to solve this 'problem' go to the games, pay your money and support your club!

If Bates doesn't want to sell it's up to him, he payed for the club, he can do whatever he likes with it, he's also a stubborn old man who isn't likely to give a toss about protests or boycotts, and in fact this probably will make him less likely to sell the club because he won't want the fans to feel they ever got to him.

I urge all Leeds fans to start being more optimistic, when you consider who we've played at the start of this season I'd say we've done pretty well tbh!

Personally I think Neil is glossing over the lack of money with his suggestion that there are virtually no loan signings that would improve our squad... Let alone strikers...

There are a number of Free Agents AND potential loanees that MIGHT make an impact....

Whilst no everyone's cup or tea, Heskey is still available, as is Sidibe, Beckford is looking lost, and sliding out of favour,,, in other positions Luke Young, Owen Hargreaves, Lee Bowyer! Thomas Hitzlberger, James McFadden!, Reo Coker to name a few...

the above will surely raise eyebrows on fitness, and age fronts, but most on their day CAN affect a game... Why not take a gamble in the short term, it's not like we would give them all huge wages AND a 5 yr deal!!

However, if the money situation reported is Correct, then we had better hope that the likes of Dominic Poleon can score regularly, cos we are going to need the kids !!!

I think it's about time Ken Bates was hauled in front of the FA to answer questions on the state of affairs at Leeds United as it looks like we're going into administration. I thought the FA had laws on this situation. Also I would like to see Mr Bates answer questions on Fraud as it's clear the man is conning the paying people watching Leeds United charging over priced ticket prices for home and away fans, hence forth destroying the game. Also I think it's about time he was made to clear up a few things stating publicly who owns what at Leeds United. The whole scenario at Leeds as become a farce with this cloak and dagger approach with the paying public. It is clear people with season tickets are not getting value for money and are being kept in the dark on certain situations. So conclusion, as above the man should be made to answer questions on the overhaul and intentions of Leeds United before the FA as this might prevent Leeds United going into liquidation yet again.

Believable7 Unbelievable2

Were going into administration ? Who the hell are you to have such an in depth financial knowledge of the club ? Stick a name to this completely absurd comment so that we can see who the real person is

Ken Bates is a very clever man. By not funding the team he has anchored our expectations. We dont expect any better than mid table but will consider it a massive massive success if we clinch 6th spot and a play off place. It just isnt good enough. Leeds United deserve better. Every football team deserves better. The summer was painful. Now the season is worse. Every week we are crapping ourselves at the sight of players picking up niggling little injuries. I, for one, cant remember a more desperate time as a fan of this football team. And it could get worse. Such an approach to running the club could ultimately bring us back into League 1. If we dont replace Ross with someone truly capable of scoring goals - our already flairless side just arent going to score enough goals. For me, Ross and Snodgrass were the only valid players last season. Now we have neither and, yet again, no one has replaced them.

Quick question but who do you guys think is worse. The supporter who boycotts games to protest at KB or the supporters who go to the games but spend all there energies chanting for Bates to leave and not getting behind the team.

Before anyone asks I am neither of these, i'm in the can't afford to go as we don't have the money bracket at the moment but was interested in what people think. I won't colour peoples opinion on what I think on this subject just interested in what people think

Believable2 Unbelievable2

How do you think that works then? If you buy a company, you buy it , including the cash. If he is owed money by the club he will get it whether owned or not unless it is eliminated as part of the purchase price, in which case it's reflected therein....over simplistic explanation......

Agree0 Disagree1

I will not reply to your post as it is very questionable and why do you want to know this? We are all leeds fans and we want whats best for our club, but some of us disagree with what we should do, thats all. very devisive post

Agree0 Disagree2

You've just replied durrrrr??

Agree0 Disagree0

I would have to say the fans who chant at the game are the worst. If you are at the game, protest all you want before and after the game but forget all the problems off the pitch for 90mins and get behind the team when the game is on. It drags down the moral of the players if all the fans chant about is the owners.

Before you start it's not a FACT, well not until it's happened, with so many let downs. Found out today and before you start, NO! I am not saying who by. All i can say is time will tell if i'm right about what i've been told. Anyway, the indemnity is no longer a issue. The people buying the club have said they will cover any loses. From what i've been told it's imenent(spelling prob wrong, soz) GFH are not the buyers, they are the people that are brokering the deal for the buyers. So forget David Haigh being chairman, it's a mith. From what he said and he named no names. We can gat ready for the bigtime. All are worrys and anger, will be gone over night. Like i said lads, it's not a fact until it happens and i'm happy to put my name to this and my neck on the line. Also before the same guy replys, YES! I am the same lad that wants Bates out and for people to botcott. GET OVER IT!!
HOPE MY BOYCOTT IS OVER AND I CAN ONCE AGAIN FOLLOW THE TEAM I LOVE!!

So what if they arent the buyers the chairman doesnt have to be a buyer it just so happens that in our case Bates is Chairman as well as owner.

Agree0 Disagree3

This is to those who thought Patel or what ever his name was, was part of the buyers. You might of known different but some didn't. I carn't wait till this happens because you are the ones that shot and bad mouthed LUST in flames. Watch when all this go through and you see that they know alot more than you fans think. Shoot me down but i know in a few days to a week, i will be on here saying" How much did you know?" Not alot by the way you never sign off for what you know and believe in. Even Bates doesn't know who the buyers are, thats why he's been pi--ing around. He wants to know what there worth, in the hope of uping the anty. In time we will see if i'm right or not. Plus if your going to pull my post apart. Then atleast have the ar=e to sign off because your acting like a closset queen(NOT GOOD!)
