Tshabalala hasn't joined any new team so there's still a chance he'll end up at ER. Why make it up that he's joined a new club when he hasn't?

Just heard on radio, Chelsea are offering 2 million pound and Torres for Max Gradel, I think if we get Smith back too, itll be the naffest strikeforce in the division.

How many more times does it have to be said that smith is now a midfield player and not a striker

So Smith has never played up front then? Never played for Leeds up front??? He's a attacking mid/Striker. So chill out doughnut

Why all the furore about Jonathan Woodgate coming back? He ought to be on incapacity benefit, the if hes fit argument doesnt hold water, its like saying Peter Lorimer would be ok if he was younger, and Smith as a striker is a non starter, he doesnt score goals, leave em alone, get younger players brought through like Revie did, sort the defence out, one or two good signings to go with whats already there and were in with a shout, move forward not back

To all these people who want an Alan smith Jonathan woodgate reunion do you really think Leeds can afford to take the risk on two injury prone players we need to spend the funds available on building a team around a real Leeds man HOWSON let's put the trust in Leeds youth and not risking precious money on the wages of two injury prone has beens we need to build a team that will get us promoted and will be a force in the prem and not a quick fix that is what it will be if we go backwards there is no room for sentiment not at leeds utd so Simon forget about the two unless you have 2 treatment tables you want warming

Bang on about smith i and many others would help fill the ground every game if he comes back or should i say it would be creating a better chance of full house imagine the place rocking again

We don't need fans like that. we had crowds of 8-14k in the 80s but we were all proper fans and turned up regardless of who we signed

As a huge smithy fan ive got to agree with the poster who said "we dont need fans like that" i go to games because i love leeds but there is no doubting that from ken bates point of view it would be lucrative, not the most pc way of looking at football admittedly, but there it is!

I also was there in our dark days, players come n go, but my love for leeds utd has never wained!!!

People who are talking about a new sponsor need to think about how good of a supporter they are since we still have netflights.com, unless we are having netflights.com on the unchanged away shirt and a new sponsor on the new home shirt, seems very unlikely

You obviously need to look at how good a supporter you are, i heard ken bates say myself that we are having a new sponsor on all three kits at the end of season dinner and awards ceremony.

"I am a Leeds fan for 44 years and personally think a chairman and board should pick the manager and then the manager should be left to choose who he wants without interference after the budget has been agreed.I do feel with SG, he wants to do it his way, and that's how it should be.I'd also rather go up slowly in time and stay up rather than get promoted and be out of our depth.Simon Grayson will get us up for sure.Fans also forget that Ken Bates however liked or disliked saved our club.That gives him the right to be as shrewd as he wants in the transfer market.Just look at what spending erratically did for us in the past.I backed Ridsdale and O'leary in the past, but in hindsight would not have if I had known where it would have got us and known we were living on mass credit which all most obliterated Leeds as a club for good.Alan Smith also for me has had too much criticism.He gave 100% every game and was selfless in the transfer, unlike Harry Kewell. Viduka was a match winner, but walked around the pitch the last 10 minutes when we got relegated where Smith gave blood and tears for us till the death.If Grayson chooses to get Smith back, he'll have good reason and have more knowledge than all of us about the situation.Fans that slag these off need to really grow up.They all should be given a break, and as Leeds fans we should be all behind them. {Ed015's Note - good point, also i dont blame o'leary.. Ken Bates didn't save Leeds Utd. When he bought Leeds we had £25million of debt. When HE put us in to administration we had £56 million of debt. He then prevented groups who were prepared to invest in Leeds Utd from taking control using shadowy off shore trusts. The guy is crooked. Ed, as he has taken two clubs in to Administration doesn't he fail the Premierships Fit & Proper Persons Test?

Smith will sign in July on £10000 wages.
Woodgate will sign just after on pay as you play with the pay being £8000.
Bowyer will return to Leeds later on unless west ham offer more money.
This money. created from departing player wages like johnson, Kilkenny, naylor, higgs, and paynter.
Leeds also interested in whittingham, cork and earnshaw but don't expect anything until smith has been completed.
