Reply to wexleeds1. If he wanted to play for us then he would sign the contract. if we don't let him go he will . sulk. And under perform. IMO I don't think he's worth 10. Million never mind 20 mil . if he is not 100% committed to lufc get him out it will only put bad vibes in the dressing room. I hate players that think there too good for there club because they have 1 decent season . we saved is career when he was rotting on Leicesters bench. any true Leeds fan only wants players who want to play for the shirt and be proud to do so.

Wish we could make him train alone and never play for any of our squads again if that's the case! Just wish we could do it!

18 Aug 2017 21:14:06
Apparently he's just been offered a contract nobody knows his decision and he's entitled to think about a new contract also he's entitled to think of other offers the same as you and I. He's not worth 20 million but is any footballer worth the fees they're getting. Hold your horses on whether we slay Wood for taking a week to decide on what is best for him. We might have saved his career but he has done what he's paid to do but it is his career. If we had a better striker he'd be dropped and you and I would say he has to deal with it. So why should we feel betrayed if he gets a better offer

Agree4 Disagree1

18 Aug 2017 21:27:07
Also if we turn down offers for him who knows wether he'll sulk or not. He may just get on with it. Your really running away with what your reading in the Sun

18 Aug 2017 21:28:54
Agree. Don't blame him if he goes. Not too bothered either way. Don't think he will be our saviour this season if he stays

18 Aug 2017 21:29:43
Only wex because until his contract runs out he shouldn't really be able to hold the club over a barrel

Agree0 Disagree1

18 Aug 2017 21:40:00
We can't really blame Wood if he does decide to go to a Premier League side. I think most of us think he won't be good enough for the Prem so if we get there we would be quite happy to bin him off for someone better! So, is it ok for him to use us to improve his profile or for us to use him to get us promoted?

Agree1 Disagree0

18 Aug 2017 21:47:55
Cura we hold him over a barrel a football club can afford to leave a player in reserves he has 5 years to earn as much as he can

Agree1 Disagree3

18 Aug 2017 22:23:51
This is getting ridiculous. Markohobbs what are you talking about? How did Leeds save his career and in what way is he sulking. As for his new contract offer. How dare he not sign it instantly to keep certain morons happy that he has shown his allegiance to LUFC!

And Curahee what are you talking about, holding the club over a barrel you say. Make the lad train alone! Unbelievable talk. Wood has done nothing wrong, apart from miss two one on ones! At least Wex lives in the real world because some geezers on here really don't.

In life corky I've found the ones who expact loyalty and disregard for money are the first to sell themselves down the river when a better offer comes

18 Aug 2017 23:21:02
There's an element of truth in all of these posts. Cur a little out of touch but all still viable opinions. This is one of the reasons I say sell. It's the honourable thing for the club to do. Take the cash and let him go to that fabulous happening town Burnley where CW can marvel at cobbled streets, the M65 and whatever else of note might be there! He will be replaced eventually and whilst the delay may not be to our liking that's football. Big money always for me over sulking underperformers any day. MOT

No malice meant to anyone else but I'm with you Corkwhite1, first of all how has Wood gone from a Leeds goal scorer to someone who's no better than a bag of crap! Firstly he hasn't turned down the contract, so why is he being slated for that? Secondly if he does that's up to him as footballers only have a limited playing career so they have to make as much as you can before they retire, also why would he hold any loyalty to us when only a couple of seasons ago he was getting slated and for some reason still does in some quarters!

Finally and most importantly Chris Wood has not asked for a transfer nor has he said he doesn't want to play for us, it's all paper talk and until I hear it from his mouth I will reserve judgement! One thing I do agree in a way is that we did take him from Leicester reserves for £3M but he has played his part by doing what he is paid for and if he is to be sold he could make our club a profit of at least £15M which is not bad interest in two years!

Just remember football is now a business not just for owners but also for players, and they want what everyone wants in life, that is the deal they can get. Let's just wait and see what happens as he might stay yet, let's not make it consume what good things are happening at LUFC. MOT

At least cork wex and others which live in the real world as you say read posts beforehand mouthing off, again! sometimes you really do show yourself up! I said I WISH we could have him train alone IF indeed he turned down our offer and sulked, not because he's missed a few chances! Really you need to stop shout your mouth off!

Agree0 Disagree1

19 Aug 2017 09:13:14
TBH wex my point isn't about loyalty. my point is about (and this is for any player) if you sign a contract you agree to those terms for the length of it. They can't complain when their club doesn't accept an offer whilst they are under contract. It's a gamble they take when they sign it.

Agree0 Disagree1

19 Aug 2017 09:48:22
I do read your posts even though i find them repetitive and boring. Why would Leeds make Wood train alone if he turned down the new contract and why would you wish so. Strange thing to want in a club, top earner and key player shunned to train by himself. You must like disharmony curahee? The "missing a few chances" was said quite obviously as a joke but went over your head, probably because you don't read posts properly! And you must explain how Wood is holding LUFC over a barrel, if you can? Apologies if i am showing myself up, again.

19 Aug 2017 09:59:11
What I don't get cork is why you're so aggressive in your posts with people whom you disagree with all the time! Are you used to getting your own way and everyone jumping at your every word? There really are ways to speak to people in a grown up and mature way!

Apparently wood is waiting to find out if Barca, oh no my mistake, Burnley (I always confuse the two) come back for a third bid before signing. If that's his attitude then I hope he signs! i hope he plays well for us this season and we go up, but then ekuban or anyone else comes in are blinding prem quality meaning next season he's loaned out to burton!

German plus Ross on loan. Can't pay more than 55% Ross weekly wage in order to keep dressing room harmony. Put CW sale proceeds in a high yield savings account for rainy day. Simples.

PLZ sell Chris wood now and sign lassonga. +. another striker+. and a CB. That would cost Leeds about.7.or.8.million plus. 10.million in the bank to strengthen in January. Woody as refused a new 3 year contract extension. He's had 1 good season. and don't forget how many ov his goals came from the spot. I say cash in now. that would give us 2 weeks to b4ing in a couple of strikers. what do you guys think

Believable6 Unbelievable3

18 Aug 2017 15:06:13
We need to sell woody now. only 2 weeks left to find a proper number 9.lassonga could be that person. I know a lot of people won't agree with me. but remember Chris wood as had one good season. he don't want to play for lufc. get him out and sign another striker a. s. a. p.2 weeks left. T. C do the right thing for all LEEDS. UTD. fans. ALAW

We at least need another striker and a defender, possibly 2 strikers if woods rejects a new deal.

Not 100% positive that him refusing the contract is true, let's hope its paper talk.

Agree2 Disagree1

18 Aug 2017 14:44:01
It looks like Wood wants to leave. I can't see another reason why the club would announce that they have offered him an extended contract. Usually the details are hammered out and the contract signed before any announcement is made. This, I believe, is just a way of showing that its the striker that wants to go. If this is the case I only hope that a club comes in with a higher offer than the present. With £15 million it might be possible to get a decent striker (not McCormack - he's too short) and a centre back. I think there should be a number of strikers out there that could do at least as well as Wood. I think he will flounder in the Premiership.

into any team championship. It's probably his wages would be the stumbling block. Maybe just doesn't fit into West Ham's way they are going to play or have too many in his position. Rubbish = harsh. ! ⚽️⚽️👍

Another Spanish signing for the u 23s. Has anyone seen any of these players in action yet. It's an interesting strategy and given the age of some of them, if they settle in quickly we might even see some of them making a breakthrough into the first team later in the year. As testament to the Spanish influence, I was sat behind the dugout for the Fulham game and could here one of the training staff who was helping with the pre match stuff, chatting away in Spanish to Someone in the stands. ! Bienvenidos a todo! Que disfrutáis tu tiempo en Leeds!

Controversial I know, but if finances allow I'd have both Ross. Mc and snodgrass back instantly! I know both left us, but they are both quality players and that's what we need. i'd be happy with them both and a new cb, even if wood does leave.

if wood does go, and mcbadgkisser is linked to us, it would take an awful lot to get fans back onside. initially a massive pay cut would possibly start this. maybe going to prove that he isn't a mercenary just after 1 last pay day. also losing about a stone in weight to prove he's fit enough. the man does have an eye for goal though.

Why is it ex managers think they know more after they lose their job? Why is it they know exactly where we will struggle, where we will finish in the league and what the current manager is doing wrong? Well let me tell you Neil Redfearn, it's a dam sad shame that you didn't have all this knowledge when you were Leeds United manager, it's such a shame you couldn't predict where we would finish in the league when you were manager, if you could of then it would of saved MC employing you! Snodgrass? Another player who, over the course, of a season, would be good for a few games then poor for a while before having a couple of decent ones. That was his normal routine. I believe that his lack of pace and inconsistency is not what we want. He is another player who was over- priced and ultimately didn't make it in the PL. If Wood goes to the PL he will be another one. Too much hype and not enough substance.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

18 Aug 2017 07:23:15
Snodfrass never relied on pace to beat a man, we have no chance of getting him because of his wages, but I think he would be great for us, one thing about him, which we can't really say about any of our signings is we all know he is proven in the championship
