Not quite as optimistic as others for this particular game if O'Kane and Bridcutt are out injured or playing when not 100%. Vierra and Phillips are very good youngsters but are performing well because of the quality and experience around them. If that's missing and Vierra and Phillips are selected to start I think we will have a problem.

Buzzing about Sunday long time since I have felt this level of optimism going into a huge game. Hope Monk is fearless and goes into the game looking for 3 points. One way or another the toon will know a storm is coming. Marching on. Come on Leeds.

Agree mate. Don't think anybody wants to play us now. Every team knows they have a battle to draw and no more easy goals for them either. Be interesting too to see how Newcastle approach it. Reckon their team maybe slightly more defensive than it would have been two months ago!

Taylor being linked to West Brom for £5m again in the papers today. I reckon that's a decent price for someone out of contract in 6 months. If I were the owner i'd take it.

Alf, if we need the money to buy Pontus then it's a no brainer for me. In fact I'd sell him anyway for that kind of money with only a few months left on his contract.

Sorry lads but i'd keep Taylor. 5 mill now or 3-4 when his contract up is a no brainer to me. He's an important starter imo. If we have aspirations of promotion we should keep him as we're already light at LB. Be risky relying on Denton or an injury prone Beradi.

If the rumours of us going back in for Verboom are true (for about £2.4m if memory serves) that would leave us a nice little profit to wave Swanseas way for Bartley or for that Dutch CB that Monk wanted (Beugelsdijk) . Would take that, don't think we loose very much, Verboom is a similar age with a similar pedigree, and tying down one of our better players or bringing in a similar one is fine by me.

Was it not the 1970 replay v Chelsea Gary (RIP) had a poor day at Wembley. replay at Old Trafford. Leeds battered Chelsea first day but somehow game ended 2-2.lost Replay 2-1 AET despite superb goal by Mick Jones to put Leeds ahead.

He was brought into the replay final with Chelsea as well but the Arsenal one was a huge shock if I remember it right.
