Fair play to the English fans this evening.
There has always been needle between the two nations. But to hear the supporters of England singing La Marsiellias was just amazing and just proved that football can bring nations together. Apologies for the spelling I think!

Now all we have to work on is elevating our respective shadow governments into nice human beings from the genocidal maniacs they currently are and we're golden.

I think that old MC might do well if he challenges the FL in our normal courts and right up to the Euro courts of HR rather than just going on what the FL own process says.

The reason I think this is that most organisations/companies will lose a case when trying to ban someone (or sack them as it amounts to same thing here) because their rules are either not written well, or unjust or prejudicial, let's face it are the FL rules going to be water -tight from a legal perspective once those wig wearers in London/Brussels start looking closely at it? I somehow doubt it.

So for me it is a good tactic for MC to state this (and do it if he needs to) so the FL might think twice.

There are loads of examples where organisations/clubs of some kind have lost out when rules are challenged in detail, the FL own "independent" court will hold no water compared to the proper real world courts (not that I am an expert just looking at it from the man in street point of view) .

If MC just went it would leave us in limbo as any sale would take ages so I for one don't want that to happen as more uncertainty will kill us.

for me this is not about if you support MC or not as we know that is split, but about the league playing fair to Leeds Utd and looking out for their member, which we know they don't do so I say MC use the law mate and let's see what happens.

Rant over.

The law is something Cellino doesn't respect. If he does challenge this, who do you think will foot the bill. It will be the club. The club still owe £150,000 for his last challenge. So win or lose, the club end up in debt. Save the money for strengthening the squad.

Good post DG. Whilst I am not Cellino's number one fan and before MC lovers start ranting, I am entitled to my opinion. Some of the posters on here think he's the dogs, but I don't like the way he treats people. Having said that he is better than Bates, GFH et al and as Kylie said 'it's better the devil you know' so I'd sooner have him than the only Arabs in the world who are skint!

On to your point about challenging FL rules, I agree. They seem to be very sketchy to say the least and it surprises me that the likes of Karl Oysten and the Birmingham chairman can own clubs and yet Cellino can't. Yes, I know the Birmingham guy didn't run Birminghm from his prison cell but do you all really believe that? I also think the FL board isn't impartial and may have an agenda with Leeds. For starters you have Bates' right hand man Shaun Harvey (enough said) and representatives from Wolves, Brighton, Middlesborough and Milwall. How are these people with interest in other teams going to be impartial to dirty Leeds?

Remember when the chairmen of all of the other teams voted on whether we should have points deducted? The outcome was nearly as predictable as an X Factor vote (allegedly) .

Anyway, enough ranting, I agree DG and MC should take it all the way and a good QC would rip their rules to bits. No doubt a hastily added clause will come into play that if any teams wearing white and favouring flat caps for head wear and whippets as pets, will automatically be demoted two leagues for daring to question the mighty Football League.

MM.

A bit harsh saying he doesn't respect the law isn't it.
He doesn't like paying tax and tries to avoid it, but then who wouldn't if they could. Millions avoid it each week (cash in hand) , he just got caught, doesn't make him evil.
Respect for MC!

If you lose then they pay costs and anyway if MC goes away who do you think will pay for strengthening squad?

It will be a mess Leeds in DeDa land and I can't see what good will come of it, sometimes you have to fight rules that may be wrong. If he fights and losses then if I was MC I would sell but if he fights and wins then if I was him I could then see a real future and there invest even more.

No one else has invested much into us and unless someone with real cash turns up then I want MC to keep investing in us.

Re respecting the law, well that is why you should test things in court, personally I don't see it makes him a bad guy for our club if had technical issues re how VAT works on cars/boats imported.

Other things that come to light may be more serious but who knows as/when that will happen to him.

Cellino has a long history of disagreements with authority in his homeland. For over ten years he wanted to extend Cagliaris stadium but to do this he had to build them a new training complex nearby. He was refused time and time again. He eventually won his battle and built the leisure stadium. However it was on land that the authorities wanted to use to extend their airport, so they were a little upset about it. Since then he has been charged with all sorts. They have dragged everyone and their dogs in on embezzlement charges regarding the new complex, mayor contractor architects etc. Trumped up charges, maybe but charges he has to face anyway, and unlikely to get any favours from the courts over there. Personally think this guy is made for us, my opinion I know others differ. But all the crap he has had to put up with and continues to fight is just the type I would want in my corner.

As always DG, you make some fair points and like most of us on here, you know someone is not going to come flying in with a open cheque book and solve the mess overnight. Would agree that the FL laws are not clear. QPR, successfully overturned a fine via the courts. My problem is that these events happen on a too regular basis. Kebab man, the law states you pay your tax. Enough said. The other problem (which should be looked at by the FL) is when chairman go to the courts and use club funds) as bates did with Mr Levi. Cellino will use club funds, that is wrong. Look we all agree that MC is better than bates and GFH. They sold to Cellino, so why can't the next owner be better than Cellino.

A mate of mine went on holiday to Sardinia he bumped into an Italian sports journalist. So obviously questioned him about MC. The journo stated that our man in charge wanted what was best for the club, but being mad will make some strange decisions. But he added he was not there to rip us off. I think that MM, is why so many on hear have blind faith. Unlike previous owners have Allegedly done. (Like what I did there ed) The man may be likeable but we cannot keep spending vast sums of money on court cases when we need players to strengthen the squad.
