For petes sake lay off Warnock!
When he came he was the best choice and the VAST majority supported it. Things haven't gone well, face facts we are not up to it, Neils fault? NO blame the players no pride in the shirt, no energy. Guys i'm Leeds through and through, but face it we are average at best, if we were promoted we'd be HAMMERED week in week out. NOT the manager its the board. GET SOME INVESTMENT IN to attract players but PLEASE lay off Warnock!

Robbiewhite

Believable14 Unbelievable32

You can't be serious. Players aren't responsible for game tactics. Manager and coaching staff are. Or are you implying hoof ball is the way to go? We need to play attractive football to succeed. We don't. That's NW for you. Get rid. Don't bother to shut door on way out Neil.

the team we have now would get beat a lot probably but the amount of money we would get for getting to the prem league through the playoffs would give us enough to really improve the squad and if we come down again we would be a lot better off than we have been in a long time. we would be able to improve the squad to get back to prem league and have a better go. the first season back in prem league would be to avoid relegation not win the league.

Agree1 Disagree2

Who was it that signed Green, Tonge, Varney etc.?
He may have been let down on the promises of investment, but he chose to inflict a policy of largely ageing journeymen with legs that can't go 90 minutes and tactics straight from the 80's route one archive.

Agree13 Disagree3

My choice was Mick McCarthy Not Warnock - Trouble is clubs never listen to fans, yet we are the clubs biggest asset!

We know NW is going so let the Fans have there say.

Still proud to be a Leeds Fan.

Agree1 Disagree5

Idve kept Grayson personally, what exactly did he do wrong? Warnocks taken us backwards, we were 7th when he took charge we finished what 16th? at least under Grayson we could still outscore our opponents because his attacking style was class, just a shame the defense ultimately cost him his job

Agree5 Disagree8

Who is it that has shipped Poleon to the blunts when we could actually use him ourselves then? Durrrrr?

A few betting sites have slashed the odds of Nigel Adkins becoming the next manager. gone from 11/4 to 4/11 within a matter of a couple of hours!

Does this mean something is going on? I can't say but it looks promising!

Believable8 Unbelievable0

Means either someone in know, a big bet or both!

Not pleased with Adkins - if he arrives! Never been in charge of a club of this size and with these expectations! Will probably need time, if he can handle it at all? Time for GFH to show their intent - plenty of foreign high profile managers available! Or go for Gus - not proven in big clubs either, but been here, knows us, and will probably grab the chance!

Roll on next season although got a feeling going to be the same as this. Unless we get investment I don't current owners have the cash to take us forward and let's be honest we need new players badly. Warnocks buys have been mixed at best. Kenny eratic. Warnock solid. Pearce jury still out. Green done ok i'd say. Norris same as Green. Austin forget about it! Tonge can be excellent but can disappear for a whole half! Diouf same as Tonge. Although Diouf picks it up against bigger teams. Morison. Think NW could be half right on this one. Once fit he will score plenty of goals for us and I think he is a winner. Bit like Baird back in the day! Just wish we had a Sheridan like back then too! Anyway I shall state the bleedin' obvious bout what we need. BIG Centreback. Pacy winger/striker. Someone to put their foot on the ball in midfield (McAllister or Sheridan type player) and a manager with some balls to play proper football instead of safety option every f*****g time! Oh yeah I forgot about Peltier. How could i? he's a trier I give him that but been lucky he had Tom LEES alongside him covering his arse. One more thing before I get too pissed. Do you ever think Don REVIE was right? Gypsy curse an all that. Sometimes I do wonder!

Believable12 Unbelievable0

The most recent curse came via the Majestyk night club then the final irony being a decade later look who owns us? Islamic owners. We are cursed.

NW has to go now, the team can't have faith in a manager who said wot he said on saturday no matter if its the truth. the team and fans haven't been this down for a few yrs.

GFH, Give RADEBE a call

Agree2 Disagree13

I do agree with the sentiments of the OP however I take it you weren't around when Venables was at the helm.

Agree4 Disagree0

2nd poster - stop obsessing with old players. Bremner, Clarke, Gray, McAllister were all fantastic players but none of them really cut it in the hot seat. What makes you think Radebe would be any better?

Agree6 Disagree2

17 Mar 2013 22:08:08
It makes no diff if they are ex players or not. They can either manage or they can't. Bremner did ok in 87 did he not? Gray didn't do a bad job from 82 with a young team. Personally I don't care if they are ex players, or chelski rejects, all I want to know is can they do the job!

Agree3 Disagree3

I don't care if they are ex players - bit I'll ask again - what are Radebe's credentials for the job? Answer = NONE.

Agree3 Disagree1

I posted about Radebe, You have a point, he hasn't proved himself in management. On this we can agree. I think sometimes we have to be brave and take a punt. As a person LR is very bright and calm as an individual. Dosnt rush to judgement too quickly. He reads and understands football very well. This may seem like a tenuous criteria but he used to commentate on lufc games back in the radio aire days, very astute observer, reads a game very well. I also have a hunch he would be able to connect with players better having played at the top level himself, empathy if you like. A bit of a long shot but I feel he may prove to be a magnet for genuine up and coming talent from africa.

Believable1 Unbelievable20

17 Mar 2013 16:05:22
Eddie's stated many times on Yorkshire radio that he's got no interest in managing again even on a temporary basis.

Agree6 Disagree1

I think there's enough good managers out there now either without jobs ie Adkins not dicanio or at clubs but would join our club if we approached them to not do that. It's ideal if he goes soon the new man basically will get 6 or 7 free games to assess the squad in competitive games and build in the summer to how he sees fit. I think the owners have money also (not a lot) but why would u give money to a manager who will b gone in a month then have to either get rid of those or but new players on top.

Agree6 Disagree0

The problem is that even if we get a manager who makes better choices than Warnock (yes I know - hard to make worse) it's difficult to see serious progress being made unless GFH make serious investment in players. Are they willing or able to do so? The signs aren't good. Then the whole cycle kicks in again. Think 'Groundhog Day'. But with diminishing returns.

Agree4 Disagree1

I say get Enoch back as our striker and our playoff campaign could restart

A winger and a creative midfielder plus a decent system and we would have walked the play off's at least. This league is so inconsistent it is unbelievable. 4 stupid late draws and one stupid late defeat since Wolves has killed our season. Look at what Leicester have spent and one win in ten, we really aren't that far away and it don't need millions throwing at it, just a realistic amount with the right manager making the right choices. Wow what a philosophy! I think I will patent it!

warnock should go now, let naylor take charge for the rest of the season, if a replacement can't be found until the summer, warnock should not be consulted about the next manager, tonge, sewer rat, brown, kenny, hall and a few others should go too, bring in some of the youth, I would like poyet or atkins, btw is harvey leaving at the end of the season?, does anyone know?

Believable7 Unbelievable5

For me Gus Poyet is the ideal manager for Leeds. My reasons are as follows:

1. Clearly an ambitious and able young coach, given what he has achieved with Brighton.

2. His Brighton team play intelligent and effective attacking football and keep the ball.

3. He has strong links with the club- I know some will criticise him for moving to be Ast Manager at Spirs when he was number 2 at Leeds before. I think any realistic grown up Leeds fan knows he was simply trying to further his career and many would do the same. I don't think it was unreasonable. While he was here he did a lot of work on the training ground rather than Wise. He said he had strong feelings for the club and was strangely popular with fans despite the Chelski connections. So he knows the club, the expectations, the pressure, the infrastructure and what is required.

3. He picks out a good player- the Argentine striker he bought recently has bagged two today v Palace. He even attracted Vicente who we played against for Valencia back in the day, Spanish international, to Brighton. He can pick up unknowns from abroad that we seem unable recently to locate. We used to do this as per Becchio.

4. He has an extensive knowledge of British football at various levels from Champions League to the lower leagues. He understands the football here, the passion and the culture. Yet he can marry that with an international technical and tactical approach.

5. He is clearly a strong character and that is what's needed at Leeds. It's a big job ( as has proved to be the case) and needs someone with charisma, confidence and the ability to convince the players to do it his way or the highway. I think Poyet has that.

6. He is young and ambitious and would be a good medium/ long term bet.

So there are my reasons. My only concern, which is a reflection of where we are at the moment- would we be able to get him, should he leave Brighton to come? Can we even afford him/ offer him a reasonable kitty to spend? Questions only GFH can answer.

Believable13 Unbelievable5

17 Mar 2013 14:37:13
I'm not sure he would want to come after Brighton have thrashed Crystal Palace this afternoon. However he MAY feel he has unfinished business with us (look at Billy Davies at Nottingham Forest). And talking of Billy Davies - that access all areas item on the tv was great - why can't we do that? Are you listening David Haigh? Has the Q and A been re-scheduled?

Agree2 Disagree1

Fer my money, Gus were always the brains behind the Wise Poyet era. I believe he has the vision, talent, drive and charisma to make a good showing.

But Brighton are within spitting of a play off place. Prying him away would be like trying to strip the hide off a live hoss. You'd get a hell of a kick because it would hurt 'em like boggery and you know it'd kill the poor beast.

Won't happen unless Brighton fall off the pace fer promotion.

Agree7 Disagree1

Thanks gus we will let u know! lol

Agree0 Disagree2

Good shout a up and coming quality manager whose teams play good footie. Cant' see it happening though as he is already being talked about for some Premiership clubs and Brighton are still in with a good chance of promotion.

I keep seeing fans saying Warnock should leave now so new manager can have a good look at the squad and start work over the international break but the problem with that statement is there is no new manager unless they have decided who they want which as far as I know it won't be Atkins anytime soon as he still hasn't sorted his wages yet. There's going to be plenty of managers after the job so it could easily take over 2 weeks to find the right man for the job and if they go with warnocks choice of manager we will end up with a younger Warnock or something

at least we have 2 weeks now b4 the team kick another ball and give 3 more points away and spoil my easter holiday that's something 2 look forward 2 not!! please please go now niel and give every whites fan a pick me up, there must be someone out of work or soon 2b who can do it at leeds, 4 me that man is joe jordan he knows all about the club the fans and i'm sure with years at harrys side in the dugout he"s picked up the know how off getting the best out of players, maybe he would like 2b in charge of a team and not second in command 2 harry because it looks like qpr will be with us next season anyway what do you think please post back with your thoughts mot keighley white

I agree Joe Jordan could be a good shout but he has never been a manager as far as I can remember and presumably at his age now does not want to be. He seems happier in the background which is a shame because there aren't many around with his experience.

Agree6 Disagree3

No thanks, left us for the dark side

Agree4 Disagree3

Joe Jordan has managed at Bristol City hearts and I believe was at Stoke for a while. When he was at Bristol city had a reputation for playing good football. With all his experience with Harry could be a good move. Also Leeds legend. At the end of the day all I want is Warnock to go asap and bring in someone who will be more interested in moving Leeds forward rather than himself. I listen to warnock he even now believes he is still a top manager. The man is diluded if he believes he is doing a good job at leeds. If he won't walk new owners please push him out the door asap. Show some real purpose and act now and bring someone in that will take us forward and play some football.

Leeds legends don't sign for "them"

i went to the game yesterday and whenever leeds played the ball on the floor we got a chance on goal but whenever we hoofed it up the field hudderfield won the ball and came back at us! I suppose that is n. warnocks style of football. also s. warnock and tounge had it after playing 6 games in a row as s. warnock just collapsed on the floor for a min and toung was s**t all round.

Can someone answer me this please.

How the hell M. Tonge gets a game for LUFC.

I think he is definitely our week link. No pace, can't tackle, won't compete for a header.

He certainly can't pick a pass out.

He is seriously garbage.

Am I alone in this? {Ed013's Note - I disagree, but everyone has their own opinion}

Believable2 Unbelievable12

Oh yeah he's bloody awful apart from him being our joint top scorer

Agree6 Disagree2

OP here

Any justification on why you guys disagree. What am I Missing when I watch him give it away constantly.

Yesterday every pass he played went sideways or backwards and I counted 7/8 passes yesterday that when he did pass forwards went to the opposition or into touch. Very much the same again Peterborough. Would have made more sense yesterday leaving green on and taking Tonge off. Least green gives maximum effort going forward and backwards.

Top goal scorer, what does that mean. He can take a set piece? Great, surprised Manchester United haven't signed him on that basis alone

Believable4 Unbelievable0

Yes we all know this is not a big spending club and neil knew this when he became the manager, he did spend a fair bit in the summer though. He picked up a few useless freebees when he would have been better off going in to the loan market, when he did actually use the loan market he brought in tonge who was decent but he wasn't needed, tate was useless and Thomas was exactly what we were looking for and it's no suprise that we won 5 out of his 6 games and the only loss was to chelsea. He didn't need to bring cms and CBS when we needed wingers and now it has cost us. The jan transfer window was no different, Morison was a good replacement for becchio, habibou pointless loan signing another chance gone for a winger, and warnock is good but did we need him. Not really. Ross barkley was pointless. Neil has no one to blame but himself he made countless amounts of terrible signings when they could have gone on a young future prospect from the prem

I don't think the play offs are over, Leicester are in free fall just like boro, 7 points behind them is 3 games, as for Brighton we still have them to play so there's 3 pts there if we can win it, as for Bolton they have to slip up sometime the law of averages say a good run will always come to an end and we are due a good run, so if Warnock can just rally the troops for one last push, alls not lost. It's all very well wanting to replace NW but at the end of the day the manager can only pick from his squad. If that squad is in need of investment then that's in the hands of the board. If they are unwilling to invest then
the manager's hands are tied and he has to try and get the best out of them. Don't believe that NW didn't want new players. As everyone is calling for the whole squad barring 2 or 3 to be replaced, why should another manager get 8 or 9 rubbish players to become game winners, remember you can't put a shine on a turd!
Leeds's fortunes will not change until new investment comes in, then a new manager can work his magic, but it is going to require both things (manager and investment) before we get promoted. {Ed013's Note - If Leeds are to replace Neil Warnock they need to do it now in this International break. Give the new man a couple of games to see what he has and who knows what may happen. Look at Billy Davies at Forest, what a turn around that is}

We don't need 10-20 mill
We need a good manager, what player in their right mind would want to play for warnock? that's why most of his signings have been old mates or old rubbish or unknown rubbish.
Leeds are a one club city with pot 40,000 crowds and prem football just round the corner.
With the right manager and owners showing a vision and ambition for the future, good players will come

Honestly don't think we should have got rid of Clayton

Believable11 Unbelievable6

When we had howson and Clayton we needed a defensive minded midfielder to play along side them which we didn't bring in. Now we have brown. , green and even Austin that can play that defensive roll but now we are missing the creative type of midfielder. Maybe we will start to see Dawson get some games he's that type of player it just depends if he's strong enough yet

Agree5 Disagree0

Absolutely right - I can't believe people were booing him yesterday. I even said as much to the tosser singing the 'too sh1t to play for Leeds song' in front of me yesterday.

People have short memories - Warnock forced him out, unlike Beckford who insisted on leaving and went for nothing.

Some real people at ER - he was all over the pitch. A few misplaced passes but he was constantly on the ball making things happen for the WINNING side - it was humiliating.

He had a better game than every one of our midfielders. Warnock is utterly clueless - along with a few Leeds fans sadly.
