Use our rumours form to send us leeds transfer rumours.

I'm deeply disappointed that we didn't take all three points from today's game. They were award a dubious penalty by a poor refs assistant who turned a blind eye to an obvious one for us when Byram was upend in the box directly in front of him. Their goal keeper had a charmed life when he managed to somehow get in the way of at least three goal bound efforts. I should compliment Morison who I thought had a good game but I would have liked to have seen more of him in the penalty area rather than out on the wing where I thought he could be more dangerous. I also thought that Redfearn did the right thing in substituting Antenucci for Sharp, he was very poor today not in tune with the game at all. Also I was amazed to see Redfearn add another striker in Doukara for cook when we were chasing the game. That's the first time this season I feel he made a good decision. The 4 4 2 formation proved to be a better formation than the diamond and one which I hope he sticks with. The ref and his assistant running the line in front of the east stand were two of the worst I have seen this season and we have certainly seen some bad ones. Let's hope he can take this better performance into Tuesdays game against Bournemouth then maybe we could pick up three badly needed points fingers crossed.

Well Keswick
I confess I only listened to commentary. But what was clear is that this was a game we were genuinely unlucky not to win, and it wasn't for the lack of effort. Shame we gave away an early soft goal, AGAIN, but it sounded like there was some real fighting spirit for once, and we were denied at least one clear penalty. Not going to criticise Redders for anything today, or the players. Hope Billy Sharp doesn't go. He's keen to stay, and he always gives his all. And it may just be that if Morrison is going to be up front, he can get some service to bang one or two in. I actually believe that we can stay up with Redders and the current squad, even with no additions, if they keep up this effort (we won't have such poor officials every game). Climb a few places, stay there, then build for next season, and I'm satisfied

Agree0 Disagree0

Sitting in the west stand, it was difficult to see if anyone had a bad game. Cookie was a Colosous and played well on the left. Never been a fan of Morison but he played well and held up the ball well. Shame that on at least three ocasions, the strikers had a wasted shot at goal when Byram was the better option. After ten mins, they were arguing amongst themselves but everyone pulled together and put a right good shift in. Let's keep it tight on Tuesday!

Morrison & Sharp should be given a chance as the front pairing - I was having this argument with a mate a few weeks ago in the pub who said they should both be sold. I personally don't think we've pet to lose by giving them a chance - as long as we don't play the awful diamond behind them!!

Agree0 Disagree0

I was in the east stand and the pen against looked wrong ( but will wait to see on tv), they never appealed and lineman gave it but the ref never even went to him to see why so harsh.
Sam B was more clear but seen then given or not so you would think the same linesman would judge it the same and give it as right by him but didn't.
It also looked handball so again unlucky.

The team played well, Morrison up front played well with a lot of good lay offs in dangerous positions so I agree the next game Billy sharpe should start cause he is a penalty box type of player.

Will be there Tuesday and I reckon with that system, sharpe in for Ant, same effort and a bit of luck we will win 2-1

Exactly right DG , I was in the upper east and the officials got all 3 pen decisions wrong. If Byrams was not a pen then a booking for diving should have followed.
Agree Sharp in for Anti who had his worst game for a long time. Wootton not good enough and a proper right back to complement Byram would see us have a real threat down that side.
Cook,Byram and Taylor were excellent as was Murphy.
I would rather see Mowatt in for Austin, moving Cook infield.
Morison was ok but still needs to put a bit more effort in for me. He continually points to where he wants the ball or where it should have been played as though he has played at such a high level he deserves the ball on a plate every time.
Well this is the championship and we are in a relegation fight so Mr Morison less pointing and shouting and more action, oh and a goal or ten would be nice.

If we can't beat Birmingham, then we stand no chance against Bournemouth, they won against Rotherham away today for the second time in 2 weeks.

Redfearn out

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Just need to start hitting the back of the net, I think our time is coming and we'll beat them, but I think that before each match, it's tough being a Leeds fan at present.

Agree0 Disagree0

We've been goal shy all season, goals win you games and keep you up, were not scoring enough. Hopefully our new recruits can help.

Agree0 Disagree0

I actually find this quite annoying. Why should Redfearn be out when the teams have been generally set up well and just have no teeth? It's the strikers that are to blame here for constantly messing up chances. We're defending well and we're getting forward enough to at least miss chances so keep the faith. By rights we should have beaten Birmingham but the referee was awful today and blatantly cheated us out of a vital 3 points. We'll be ok.

Agree0 Disagree0

Because it took him 10-15 games to realise his kids weren't the answer and that the diamond doesn't work. We've not won since November, why should we keep him with a record like that?

Agree0 Disagree0

Alex Ferguson started out at Man United with an atrocious record and look what happened there. I'm not saying Redders is like Ferguson but we all moan about how much of a joke it is when Cellino hires and fires and now people are calling to sack another manager. Better the devil you know than the devil you don't.

Also what's wrong with having a Yorkshireman who supports Leeds, who has been at the club for years and has the best interests of the team (including it's youth development) at heart, and wants to see us get back to the premier league being in control? For me he has to stay as we won't find another coach who both Cellino and the players like.

Agree0 Disagree0

Kdeaco / smitch

I agree/disagree . Redders should be given until the end of the season. Don't see any likelihood that MC could/would appoint anyone better for now. You are right smitch about how long it's taken him to see the light - but let's just keep posting and hope he keeps reading.
Next season different kettle of fish - all bets off as to what we will need then

Its easy next season f.a will wait till end of season and decide to turn league upside down due to cellino threatening legal action and we win playoffs from third spot lol!! Simples!!

Maybe, just maybe, there are 3 teams in this league who are worse than Leeds. We have widened the gap from the trap door to 3 points without even winning. So if we survive how do we get to the prem next season as promised by Mc. Any thoughts guys and girls?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Anyone at the game today? Anyone else think aunty nellie isn't up to it. Noticed his movement absolute shhhh. Saw him running for a pass into the area that was never going to reach him, rather than running to where the ball actually is he keeps running to where he wants the ball to be ( usually where it isn't) then looks exasperated at the poor service?! What a joke, another time was dispossessed by a brim player who set on a run, aunty runs a further 10 yards or so towards the goal WITHOUT THE BALL. pillock!

Then there is the ref, quite possibly the worst ref to charge a Leeds game since the euro cup final against Bayern. TWO NAILED ON PENALTIES denied, blatant hb then Byram upended in the area. Should have pumped this lot

NR pleeeease start with Sharp against bournemouth. nucci needs to ponder his performances for a few months I think.

Apart from this I think the team showed some real grit and determination, . delighted with Murphy a player I've criticised and was hoping at one stage would be transferred out. Didn't stop whole game, intense pace and great finish. Showing the strikers what to do.

Any word on Adryan, looks like his fortunes have taken A BIT OF A DIVE!! ( put the joke in capitals in case it got missed)

Looking fwd to Tuesday night, I'm going for 7-4 to Leeds! :-{)

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Sorry who is aunts Nellie?

Agree0 Disagree0

Auntie nellie has never been good enough, time to give Sharp & Morrison a go

The referee was abysmal today. Their penalty was a good tackle by Cooper. He missed two penalties for us and then failed to send off Zigic when he attempted to put his head into the refs face. I have not believed that the refs association had an agenda against us but after today I am starting to become a tad paranoid.

Good point today, we need all we can get, well done Luke Murphy and the rest of team.

Notts, starting? You serious? There's been an agenda against us for 4 decades.

Agree0 Disagree0

Probably a tad naive, the standard of refereeing over the past few seasons has been of a poor standard. I must have confused that with a vendetta against our team

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Jan 2015 18:27:25
Well we climbed up 1 position today. If we repeat that every week we will be in playoffs.
Good times ahead lol

I wasn't there but it sounds like Morison had a good game?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Always said he was a great player and Redders was wise to select him :)

Agree0 Disagree0

I was and he played pretty well, some good knock downs, couple of decent crosses and looked the part in this game for sure.

Mind you had smith had played he would have been even more effective and reckon he would have scored the chance in the first half, but fair play to SM he did a job today.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Jan 2015 17:10:17
Haven't been able to go today due to work commitments, on that basis I wouldn't like to comment on our performance, but I would be interested on the performance on our forwards, is it the formation, bad luck, or confidence why can't they score? On a positive Redfearns team are getting hard to beat, if it wasn't for the fact we've give away two penaltys in two games who knows we could have been 4 points to the better.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Andy, formation appeared to work however Cook is not a natural left midfield player. Morison was a threat but lacked finishing confidence, Antenucci was poor today

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Jan 2015 17:04:55
Credit where it's due.
Murphy our best player today.
I think all we're going to hear from Redfern is that we should have won today but we didn't.
These are the games we need all 3 points from if we're going to climb out of trouble.

Half time stats
Birmingham. More on target. More off target. More corners. Are we at home? No wait. Its ok. Redders is bringing ant off and pearce on. Joke. I hope!?
Week in week out. Getting on my nerves. Its bloody midnight here. 30 degrees and i'm getting bitten by mosquitos and i'm blooby fed up. No fing alcohol. But I need it
Im really over this.

Soon as we go a goal down I feel that's games over. How many more sloppy goals and pens will we give away this season. I hope I am made to eat my words today let's see what happens in next 45 mins

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I must say its getting a bit boring now, we must have gone 10 hours without scoring in open play, and to Rub it in Hunt has scored 2 for Ipswich.

Look who scored 2 goals in 10 minutes for Ipswich.

Oh, I get it now!
Redfern is playing Murphy hoping he'll have at least one good game then some team will buy him.
And he's hiding Mowatt away on the bench hoping any premier league teams interested in him will forget he exists!
Very clever!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

17 Jan 2015 14:06:01
Slightly more encouraged by the team news, if morison pulls his finger out and feeds some knock downs to Antenucci.

Byram and Cook attacking the box and Austin and Murphy breaking up their play.

I am a little confident about today now.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Hope you are right. Can't say I'm that excited by it. But hope I'm wrong

Agree0 Disagree0

Me neither speedie. Bit defensive and slow and lacking creativity. But what do we know! Prob be 5-0

Vaz Te has had his contract cancelled at west ham. Good player with championship experience and available at cellinos favourite price. Possible move for him?

Ok, this I know will be an unpopular view, but here goes. Perhaps MC is preparing to go down and I know it's not ideal, but would it really be the end of the world?look what happened last time we went into league 1. We were the big team who won almost every week.from a fans perspective I don't really think it maters which league you are in if you are winning.statt agin with a sounder financial footing might help, look at wolves, Norwich and Southampton.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Look at leeds history. We bounce back quick eh?

Agree0 Disagree0

Ben
You posted this from the Peacock? If so, think you've had enough mate :)

Agree0 Disagree0

No, no not had a drop.didnt say we'd bounce back straight away.
Let me ask you this though would you rather scrap staying up this season and continue to repeat this time and again, not winning becoming more an more frustrated and disappointed with the over paid crap we have or perhaps have a couple of seasons of good confidence building results even if in a lower league, get fully sorted and then go for a push.

Agree0 Disagree0

Neither Ben. I'd rather scrap and stay up this season, then build to improve. I can remember the third division, to give it its proper title - and I don't want a taste of it again thank you very much

Maybe Cellino has another plan

Reduce the wage bill so we don't get stung on fair play rules next season. I can understand that If we are relegated we would end up having a fire sale again to reduce the wage bill So tie the youngsters to long term contracts and remove the older senior 30+ players now. The team next year needs to be young 18 to 25 if we are planning for the future

Dont spend any money on transfers now . it may be part of a lawsuit against the football league if he wins his appeal, ie prevented on running business

One thing we know about Cellino he is a smart business man, think about the McCormack sale . however have we spent all or some of that money considering it was meant to be used to buy the Ground back

What ever the reasons are he is still the only person to come in and pay the debts off and in years gone by the transfers/loans were always players at the end of their career he is bringing in young talent

My team for today
Sylvestri
Berardi Del Fabro Cooper Taylor
Cook Berlusci
Byram Adryan Sloth
Antenucci

bench Montenegro[Berlusci 60mins], Mowatt, [cook} Taylor. Bianchi, Pearce, Doukara

Attacking midfield with option for 4-4-2 Two defensive midfielders to allow others to attack. Personally think Berlusci will play better in this role.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

That would be my team too but given the way Austin has been playing I'm surprised he isn't on the bench. The alternative as Berlusci is untried in mid field role simply start with him in his usual position with Austin in midfield and chalnge the formation with Berlusci in midfield later in the game. It's an option.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 Jan 2015 07:44:32
My worry now is will we keep players like Monty Del Fabro and Adryan when their loans are up. U21s with Adryan, Fabro, Monty, Cooper and Sloth ripped teams apart and kept clean sheets First team can't score from open play but Monty can't get in, Defence is all at sea but Fabro can't get in. Change the formation and let's drop the only real creative player we have. The problem is when their loans are up there will be interest from other clubs for these players and will they stop with us if they don't get a decent run in first team. We have competition for places but its not being used. If we are continuing with one striker then Sharp needs to go because he is no use up front on his own. Think a few of the players will become unsettled if they are scapegoated, ie I dropped them because they need to try harder? and the team carries on losing. These players should be in top half of table its tactics that are the fault. Then to bring in Morrison beggars belief. Rant over, positive is if we get a couple of wins then I can see us going on a run but in this league we need to look at teams we are playing their strenghs and combat them not enough planning going on, mot
