just seen the cardiff highlights. got to say kenny was on game and if it wasnt for him we would have lost by 4 or 5!

Believable26 Unbelievable2

I got slated a few months ago for saying lonergran wasnt good enough (and by the ed) iwould just like to say told you so {Ed013's Note - I said that I saw the sale of Lonergan a little silly for the pennies we got for him and we needed other positions first. I never said Kenny was rubbish and I stand by what I said and that is that Lonergan is a good keeper}

Surely bates isn't such a fool that he can't see without investment he is going to lose money on his own investment ie by Leeds slipping down the league because of injury and Jack of quality playing staff so please please bates if you read these not likely i know but even one of your butlers read it tell him please step a side for the good of your investment and the good of Leeds

Believable10 Unbelievable1

Hes probably got enough, im sure a couple of hundred thousand pound is pocket money to him

Open letter to Neil Our saviour Warnock This is quite simple please do not leave We know bates is a lying piece of shxt that doesn't deserve his name mentioning in the same breath as Leeds united let alone be our chairman. We know and appreciate your hands are tied but with your help and only your help we stand a chance without it I dread to think where we might finish up. No one would blame you if yu did go but as much as I want the
Old bastxrd out more than ever we need you to stay

All these people on here who think they know it all,acc to Eddie gray our defence still looks like conceding, why does everybody think its a good defence 2 against blackoool,if they had taken there chances could have been 6 or 7,3 against Blackburn, and 2 yesterday how many clean sheets, doesn't matter people goin on about set pieces they have to be defended aswell,Warnock promised to sort defence and he hasn't.

Believable6 Unbelievable13

Oh well lets sack him then eh,good grief, the team is far from built yet,if youve got to moan and groan at least wait till xmas or summat,as it is its way better than last year, our squads paper thin,we all know we need more players,FFS,give him a chance.

Agree7 Disagree5

The defence is fine...the problem is, it is being overworked because are tactics are not great and we lack creativity

Agree13 Disagree0

Problem is simple, NR can only bring in average players, no match-winners. No flair. No invention. Shouldnt come as a surprise to anyone when we let in lots of goals.BATES OUT LLHB

Agree6 Disagree1

Work on set pieces? how many have we conceded from set pieces played into the box like? can hardly moan cause we didn't defend against a freekick that flew straight in the top corner and the other was a penalty how can you defend a penalty better haha..

I hope to god that varney gets dropped for the Hull game and for any other game come to think of it. He doesn't add anything to the team, gives the ball away for fun and is greedy when he gets it as well, numerous times against Cardiff could have passed the ball and ended up giving the ball away! NW should give poleon a chance IMO. Varney rant over.

Believable12 Unbelievable3

Person, varney was dropped only came on cause Ross got injured, get with it..

Agree9 Disagree0

He was not dropped he was being rested for the hull game...get with it.....

Agree2 Disagree2

U think NW has Varney as his first choice ? He brought him in for strength as he didnt have any dosh for first choice options... He does a job and will do until we can afford better. I'm not his greatest fan either but appreciate what he's there for

Agree1 Disagree1

16 Sep 2012 19:05:29
I'd like to see Poleon be the replacement for McCormack, proven at all levels he's played at grabbed a few in pre season is young hungry and passionate! He will give us that pace up front which we need, its him or Gray? Gray and Becchio same player, and I don't really want to travel a 10 hour trip Tuesday to see Sunday League route one! Give Poleon a chance! Leeds!! PickersLUFC!

Believable14 Unbelievable0

Gray and Becchio same player? Let's see, Gray does not score, Becchio does. Apart from that they could be easily confused with each other.
Check their careers, have a think, and then retract such a ridiculous post.

Agree0 Disagree3

Gray doesnt score? he outscored becchio comfortably in pre season i know becchio missed a couple but cant moan at his finishing

Was at the game yesterday, and didn't think Cardiff were that good considering they have spent 10 million this season, the only difference between the 2 sides were set piece goals, one was from a player that could fit into most Premier League sides, and one was a penalty which wasn't even a foul in my eyes! So all this moaning about us not being good enough is bonkers, we had 3 midfielders out and our striker got injured 4 mins into the game, so straight away that gives us less of a chance of winning a match! Cardiff 10 Mil Leeds about 1.5 and we matched them, we haven't got the biggest squad but we have the biggest morale and team spirit, and with the support we showed the players yesterday we can go far....our fans were out of this world! Have some faith in the lads tough week ahead, we can grind out results and do a job!! LeedsforeverWhiteforever PickersLUFC!

Believable16 Unbelievable2

Sorry mate but we're not bonkers. I admire your loyalty and optimism.

Almost everyone else seems to have watched a very different game in which we worked hard but where class told in the end with only Paddy keeping the scoreline respectable, pretty much like the Blackpool game.
ML

Agree3 Disagree2

Cardiff 10 Mil Leeds about 1.5 and we matched them

you have talked yourself into a bit of a circle with this one. The above statement is obviously wrong because we came away with no points.
CCFC have a player who would fit into most prem teams...indeed the difference between the teams. They have invested in match-winners, we have not. We have a paper thin squad with no quality to c...WE ARE MID-TABLE AT BEST. CCFC will be in with a shot this season, unlike us im sad to say.

The only way, boycott ER LLHB MOT

Agree3 Disagree8

Good post bud, beats the hell out of all the doom and gloom merchants on here,NW has done a remarkable job on little money, but we need at least 3 players now,and fully expect him to get them in this week, for all the money theyve spent, they didnt score from open play, were well on track, bit of investment now and well be right up there.

Agree8 Disagree3

Cardiff didn't play well in the first half but in the second half it was one way traffic if cardiff were a bit more clinical and paddy kenny had not made some world class stops they would have won by 3 or 4 just like blackpool!!

Agree4 Disagree2

'Warnock has done a good job'. Actually his stats are the worst since before Don Revie, worse than Gary Mac and Grayson despite having a slightly better budget than either. Fewer goals scored, more goals conceded.

His out of date style and his failure to allow for injuries in assembling his squad is rapidly becoming clear.

Agree2 Disagree7

But the fact is they didn't score those goals as one of our players made a difference doesn't matter which player but one did. You can make excuses for anything, we could say if we made a pass or didn't lose possession in a certain area we may of scored from it, but it didn't happen just like Cardiff and Blackpool didn't score 5 or 6 because one of players in our team stopped them, doesn't matter if it was Austin or Kenny either way that ball didn't go in the net more than twice. Stop being so negative and have some faith, we've had the hardest start to a season in years we've played 4 of the promotion contenders and we've done well we haven't been battered it been narrow defeats yes we've been outplayed but we didn't get stuffed, always a positive! MOT!!

Agree2 Disagree1

Cardiff battered Leeds in the 2nd half , Paddy Kenny made some great saves to keep it respectable. The stats back this up , totally one sided.

Agree5 Disagree2

To the OP , there's no way Leeds matched Cardiff , where you there??

Agree5 Disagree0

Those stats are based on feb - end of season last season too with Graysons team which he said he didnt like at all. This years stats we have scored every game one of which we scored 3 and if you include cup games he has only lost like 10% of his games and drawn about 5% and won like 85% so i fail to see how you can say he is doing a bad job with the resources available to him.

Agree0 Disagree1

The 'his own players' argument is nonsense and things haven't really improved that much have they? We're not exactly dominating the table right now, and before anyone says we've played the difficult teams, so what? WE should be the one of difficult teams and we're not.

Once football manager comes out can someone check the wages of the players because they seem to know everything about everything. And before anyone slags me off, i was the one who pointed out the fact that They knew Danny Pugh was signing for 500k and that he is one of our highest earners so I'd be interested to know what we're actually paying players like Diouf and Ross. And to see if tonge is signing in jan too.

Believable2 Unbelievable6

Oh dear - this is just silly...

Everyone knew what Pugh was signing for and since he came from the premiership it's not a great leap of intellect to work out that he'd be getting paid a few quid.

Agree2 Disagree3

16 Sep 2012 15:37:42
already after just 5 games everyone can see just how amazing austin is , biggest bargain since strachan me thinks . defo premier league class so now is the time to tie him to a 5 year contract

Believable18 Unbelievable2

Can't see his agent advising him to do that. I suspect he's already the attention of a few premiership clubs and can see Bates accepting an offer come January if the takeover collapses.
ML

Agree5 Disagree1

Definitely, I'm also pleased as I had my fingers crossed on his worth - which I doubt not!

LR, Northants

Agree2 Disagree0

..although we know the reality of this, if Bates agrees with you and anybody comes knocking on leeds door enquiring about him he will be out in the jan transfer window...for a fraction of his true value.

LLHB

Agree2 Disagree0

People are starting to over exaggerate Bates and his selling antics. I dont like him and think he is selling too many of our good players but name ONE just ONE of our better players that he has sold just 3-4 months after he has signed. You are just making yourself look daft with that comment.

Agree1 Disagree0

The difference being that now Bates has mortgaged the season ticket sales to pay for the East Stand work we've lost a big chunk of our income for the next two years and gained nothing to show for it. Bates's gamble has failed.

Bates will either have to sell the club or sell players or hope that 10,000 extra non-season ticket holders start turning up every week otherwise we could be in trouble. That's why I think he may have to accept offers for players in January, even if they've only been here a short while.
ML

I think all of warnock's signings have been decent this transfer window, obviously he hasn't got a big enough squad with money constraints, injuries etc but i think he could have really used Robbie Rogers and Nunez ( i know he's now injured) this season as flair players which is what we are lacking although the team is solid.

Also what a waste of money Luke Varney and Andy Gray were even as squad players.

MOT Bates out!

Believable10 Unbelievable5

How can you say all the signings are decent then go on to say two of them are a waste of money? Something of a contradiction is it not?

We do have a much better defence but at what cost? A weaker squad overall and desperately lacking in the areas where, in the modern game, most games are won and lost.

We cannot defend our way into the Premiership.
ML

Agree5 Disagree0

"I think all of warnock's signings have been decent this transfer window"

"what a waste of money Luke Varney and Andy Gray were even as squad players"

Warnock signed Varney and Gray, so exactly how do those two statements match up?

Agree3 Disagree0

With the situation we are now in, I cannot understand why Robbie Rodgers is out on loan and we have Andy Gray as our back up striker.

Agree5 Disagree1

Varney is a good player

look we are going to have to take 1 step back to move forward thats going to involve losing players maybe losing warnock and defoo losing bates and all us faithfull have to go on a masss protest

Believable7 Unbelievable7

Losing Warnock is NOT what we need!
IMO the potential buyers are being very quiet, if they are determined and serious buyers they should have & should be voicing frustrations of what sticking points are.
Bates is also quiet still after all this time he has said very little. Warnock is key to Leeds.
If buyers are serious and had money would
you not think they would push takeover through. I do not think it is what he has been offered for club which is sticking point.
Bates' time at Elland Rd is up.
It's sad to see Leeds fans turning on each other, everyone is entitled to their own opinion but we need to be together and support the team and the manager. An empty Elland Rd only hurts Leeds and gives hope to visiting teams and supporters.

Someone within the club grow some b+++s and tell us what is really going on, this confidentiality business has become as much of a joke as the takeover!
LUFC always!

Agree4 Disagree3

After going through 2 relegations and a promotion all within the last 8 years and still attending 25+ games a season I would like to think I was one of the faithful, but there's no way I would go or get involved in a mass protest.

well now macca out or few weeks who is going to repace him? hull tuesday night and our squad is so thin its unbelievable from the games i have seen this year blackpool cardiff blackburn they make subs in last 15 mins and that person scores either the winner or plays a major part towards a goal why is that because we are tired and have not got the squad to replace quality with quality i think we can pretty much forget this year we are not going to have much luck ken bates is a complete and utter c**k wont sell up, injuries, and from what i see of the cardiff game the ref was very poor so unless something dramatic happens this week we could loose a lot of points in the coming weeks. also austin is a master class we all know if we don't go up who we will be selling next year to norwich dont we.

Hi can anybody who was at the game tell me how tong played? Also am I the only person the thinks varney is s##t worse player in are starting line up and he was one of the players I had high hopes for after seeing him a number of times for blackpool but seen him four times and he's been shocking

Believable9 Unbelievable0

Im just a normal man doing a normal job but why is it that i could see how piss poor varney was b4 we signed him but the people getting paid thousands of pounds a week who are supposed to be knowledgable on the game couldnt ?? he is by far NW worst signing and should be at best a low ranking squad member !!

Agree6 Disagree2

Hahaaaa could not agree more with with the fella above, how can the professionals not see that varney is dogshizzz

Agree3 Disagree1

It is not big and it is not clever to say I told you so, but, I told you so.
I posted that Varney was pants and got the usual NW knows more than you/give the lad a chance/he was injured for much of his career replies. Nonsense.
Varney is pants, and he is a waste of good money. Money that could for pay a decent player, or two, or three...
Do not even start me on Gray and Brown, and are we really still paying Pugh a wage when a player with promise, Rogers, is out on loan?
Danny do the decent thing, retire or go to Norwich.

I can see us having the same old problem, 5 games in and were sitting on 0 goal difference, which will equate to another mid table finish. now ross has picked up a knock it only makes our situation worse. is it our strikers or defence that is the problem? or a combi of both? watched the football league show last night and our match was previewed, didn't show an attempt on goal from us until the 78th minute. I personally feel we need two strikers, and two midfielders, but this won't happen coz ken bates is a doucher. MOT simo, essex.

Believable11 Unbelievable0

What we need is some pacey wingers .byram is a very good player but probably not ready for a full season in the championship yet .first team is good but not good enough to match the top teams in the league at the moment . we are very thin and its starting to look like we might have to rely on our academy players this season .bates is just a rat and needs to be exterminated a.s.a.p.

Five games into the season. Already fatigue is showing with injurys. I myself quoted after the 1st match with Green limping off that we had a limited replacements. We need a serious injection of cash to upgrade our ailing squad. Think it's going to be a long, hard season with more downs than ups. I think it's about time our club luck changed for the better. Let's hope the sunny days come soon, you never know. Live in hope and prayer that we get what we all want and soon.

Believable8 Unbelievable0

We need to make this happen for us. Knowbody else will do it for us. We need to force his hand before this season has nothing to play for and numbers will drop anyway. Atleast they'll be something worth saving.

I see Grayson doing good job at huddersfield with little money and also selling his best player, defence is strong also but we still look like conceding goals,I am starting to wonder who has the best manager,if only Bates had let him bring in the players he wanted who knows.

Believable9 Unbelievable10

When do we look like conceeding? We never looked like it yesterday. The only time we've looked shaken at the back this season was for the first half an hour against Blackburn. Jog on back to Huddersfield Grayson.

Agree5 Disagree2

Thanks for the post Simon....time to let it go.

Jonnyh

Agree4 Disagree2

Think your missing the point. A manager who as money to spend on players and fails is a poor manager. a manager who as no funds plus works on a shoestring budget is a good manager. Our shoestrings are frayed on both feet. Don't think Grayson or Warnock are to blame for this farce we are now in. And indeed it is a farce, lesser teams(no disrespect) have spent more. It all boils down to the ambition of the chairman as he and he alone who holds the purse strings. Our Chairman purse strings are also very frayed with tightening them up.

Agree5 Disagree0

If grayson manages football league clubs most of the time he will end up with more promotions than warnock in my opinion . grayson is relativity new to management and is only 4 promotions behind warnock and i think Huddersfield will be around the top 6 at end of season .

We conceded to 2 set pieces yesterday our defence is not the problem its our lack of pace and creativity going forward

Are we missing a trick ? Now if we managed to ask warnock to give bates an ultimatum, something along the lines of .....YOU SELL AND I STAY, YOU STAY AND I WALK !? announce it in the press to really get on his tits. Think about it, bates will be selling a club with a the best manager in this league and an outside chance of promotion. Or a manager less mid table at best club with falling attendances. This may lead to money issues and bates could lose out?

Thoughts

Believable3 Unbelievable7

Its a good idea but what if bates called his bluff the like you say a managerless mid table club if not relagated with the injuries we now have.
Don't get me wrong I would do anything to get rid of bates but don't want to lose warnock either

I think the self gratifying smurf is the type to drink from the poisoned chalice such is the ego of the troll, his personal pride is matched only by his greed, he would let NW go and get another yes man he can control easier, mid table would no bother a man that has not one tenth the passion for LUFC has the people that care enough to share their feelings on this site, let alone those who spend their money attending the games. Don't forget its all pub speculation about Bates, he's a saint.
RMOTLIFE

Agree3 Disagree2

Personally like to see diouf just behind becchio. Drury needs to play left back without doubt as white still gets rounded by the right midfielder / winger to easily . Really dont see how Neil still feels safe playing him there as I believe he is a reliability in an otherwise promising defence . Still think we need a decent left / right midfielder .

Agree3 Disagree0

Drury's injured isn't he?

LufcJay

Agree0 Disagree0

I dont get it with White. He is an U21 international but is woeful at left back for Leeds. Eddie Gray states that Aidy cant play wide left or right because he does have the skills to play with his back to the opposition and still turn them and get to the dead ball line. Back five look solid without him but he nearly cost us the win against Wolves and was awful against Blackpool and his change to left back at Cardiff changed the game in their favour. He is one for the future but not now. Squad is too thin particularly now with all the injuries. Cant see a way out of it without spending money. Just keep supporting the players on the pitch including Aidy. He is doing his best!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Everyone expects too much too soon. Aidy is going to be a late bloomer, like Cleverley at the Scum; he'll only be pushing for a first team place when he's 23 or 24.

Agree0 Disagree0

What you mean he will only be pushing for a first team place when he is 23/24 - he is in the first team NOW!!!
