What is a fair ( and realistic) price for Snodgrass? I think 3 million. Cant ask for more than that given he has 12 months left on his deal and wants out. I don't think we will get 5mill+. However, 2mill or less is no good for us and doesn't reflect his pedigree.

Believable3 Unbelievable2

I don't think he does want out, if Warnock gets the right type of players in. If needs be. I would say 3.5 million is a fair price.
mot4life

Agree4 Disagree1

Original poster here. 3.5 mill would be a good and fair price. Think we might struggle to get it though, with the contract situation. Best to keep him, with a new contract if at all poss.......We NEED the takeover!

Agree1 Disagree0

I think we will still get around 3 mil in January so any less than that we should keep him until then. there will be plenty of teams trying to get him come January starting off a bidding war

Agree1 Disagree0

No chance you would get 3 million in January? Why pay 3 million when you can wait 6 months and get him free? {Ed045's Note - And if Leeds do manage to get promoted, whoever bidding might not get him at all.

Right that's the last straw for me if we sell Snoddy! I thought now we were getting investment that we wouldn't have to sell our key players. Great show of intent Leeds United....well done. You'd sell your granny if you could make a few bob. Goodbye losers

Believable5 Unbelievable7

First no ones confirmed we have accepted a bid, we are always going to have interest in our players.

Secondly, good bye and good riddance to you!

Mark14

Agree8 Disagree1

We wont miss snodgrass if warnock does his job - and if thats how you feel we wont miss you either - anyone who doesnt want to give their all for the whites are welcome to go

Agree8 Disagree1

What an absolute tool
How is it down to snodgrass to dictate who we sign before he signs a new contract
Why dunt bates shove the contract up snodgrass a#se and drive the overrated jock to norwich
What does he expect to win with them
Even there manager knew there was no further they could go
Get rid and get players proud to play for the shirt
Come on Leeds
Russjon

Agree9 Disagree1

What if Snoddy has decided he wants to leave though? Are you happy for us to keep him against his will and have an unhappy player in the squad then get nothing for him?

All that said, nothing has been said about us accepting a bid for him, we may have rejected it, he may be planning on staying. Don't panic just yet but if he does go it suggests to me that he wants to go and we're getting what we can for him.....either way the board can't win - people complained when we let beckford run his contract down just as much as when we sold gradel when he was in his last 12 months!

I hope Snoddy stay but don't just jump to the conclusion that it's the clubs fault if he goes

al1977

Agree3 Disagree0

Of course its the boards fault if snoddy goes how can anyone stick up for bates and the board there the ones that said they would back warnock

Agree5 Disagree3

Think of the players we could get from 3.5 mil instead of just having 1 player . theres plenty out there to be had that really want to better themselves and get to prem league

Now is it just me or is anyone else actually a little bit disappointed Lloyd Sam has gone, I mean, I think he still has ability and never really got the chances, think we may have missed a trick with that lad.

Mark14

Believable10 Unbelievable7

Plenty of pace and a hard worker. not sure he had the skills needed for a promotion seeking team though.

Agree10 Disagree1

No
He was wazz
Glad to see him gone
Russjon

Agree3 Disagree4

Your correct he just needed a run of games but i think hes probably a mid table player in championship at best

Agree2 Disagree1

He did a very good job at notts county when he was on loan, perhaps showing that he is only a mid table championship player at best. he has 1 trick, maybe 2, and he is fairly quick. not special enough for leeds

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jul 2012 20:19:43
I think that if NW is looking at Rudloph Austain then we should also take at look at Kim Ojo as well (6'3 and 23 year old) strong fast and scores with both feet and is strong in the air both players are from SK Brann.

Will people wake up we need snoddy, we moaning about lack of quality then we seem only to happy to get rid of what we have got, he good be worth 45million to Leeds if we get promoted and so what if we lose him for nothing then........kevlufc

Believable7 Unbelievable7

I agree he's the one player we can't afford to lose

Agree6 Disagree5

I think snoddy as asked to go.I bet his agent made the bid public.I see we have been linked with crofts, I bet it's a player plus cash bid . It wouldn't shock me if a few Norwich players ended up at ER.Bennet n crofts would be my guess both fit in to watt Neil wants crofts strong physical Bennet pace to burn

Agree3 Disagree1

If snod wants to go then let him go, move on, we might as well make a few million out of him while we still can, if we keep him then he certainly not playing for the shirt is he !

Agree9 Disagree1

We dont need snoddy hes only 1 player. lets spread the money we get for him out over a few players that can really make a difference and get us promoted . the only way the sale of snoddy will be no good if we just go buy a player for 500 k and put rest into something else like bates pocket . we want to sell snoddy for 3.5 mil + and invest in 2 new players about 1.3 each and then we will have 1,68 mil for wages this is with the wage we would of paid snoddy

- You are spending far too much time on websites looking for any information
- Your employer will have spotted you
- Your wife/girlfriend is sick of you saying "will it happen??"
- You have started praying!!!

Rest assured. We will all know when it happens and not a moment sooner.

Hopefully we will have new owners soon, but the longer it's dragging on the more pessimistic I'm becoming. Something I got accused of when posting I had heard NW was ready to quit a while a go! Optimist or pessimist in my opinion if nothing happens soon then we need cash from the sale of Snoddy to fund other targets. I guess we'll see lot's more "It's happening tomorrow" posts, but we need a plan B if tomorrow never comes

I believe some Leeds fans have made a transfer request and wish to support Bradford or Man U. I believe they should be allowed to go as they do nothing but whinge and are so negative. Are we marching on together or are we going to have to leave some of the fans in the car with pop and crisps while they sulk?

Believable4 Unbelievable3

Believable0 Unbelievable7

What is your issue? You're a simple minded personic baffoon. Norwich have made a bid, but nowhere does it say it has been accepted. The team is currently an improvement on last year, with some good players linked and a far better manager. We are still in the middle of a takeover and we are still in wait of that outcome. There is no point sat there writing non-constructive comments. We are currently linked with Peltier, Varney, Norris, Austin, Buszaky, D J Campbell and CMS.

Have faith in Warnock, and be positive for the team we all love.

would anybody be disapointed ifsnodywent?, i for one would be a bit annoyed, but lets face it, he was nothing on max gradel.. he only gives 100% when he feels like it, hes slow and doesnt seem to last 90minutes.. i say get rid, get el hadji diouf, rudolph austin, delph on loan, try the so hard to get gradel, but buzsaky would be an amazing signing.. forget beckford, get marvin sordell instead, hes young and will do his best to please the fans.. in warnock we trust

Believable4 Unbelievable1

I agree with what you are saying, sometimes you have to sell your prize assets to build a more rounded squad. Just look at Newcastle, their fans were in uproar when they sold Nolan, Caroll etc but look what they did this year.

First time poster here

I think we should take the money for snodgrass, let's face it he is class on his day, but when he goes missing he is woeful, I thought in a few games last year that he could have worked a lot harder for the midfield. Don't get me wrong he can win points on his own but if we could get a couple of great signings for the money raised then we should definatley look at that, we are looking at players below 500k at the moment, what about a couple of million pounders?

Believable2 Unbelievable0

16 Jul 2012 17:53:09
Snoddy has not said he is unhappy at Leeds. He was waiting to see if the club were going to show any positive intentions to get into the premiership.
Remember that NW wanted to build his side around him.
I dont think that has changed...not unless the club are in dire need of the money.

Believable3 Unbelievable1

16 Jul 2012 17:22:44
Ill be gutted if Snodgrass goes for less than 5mill, he is a top quality player and if we want promotion, we need to buy players with his quality, not sell them! But if he does get sold, we need to buy some players with the money, Hoolahan would be a good signing if we could do a deal for Snoddy with him included. Either way Leeds need to buy big if we want promotion, in Warnock I trust, in Bates I don't!

Believable4 Unbelievable1

Snoddy is not "top quality",he could be average prem player. Not one of the top prem clubs have shown intrest in him.

Everton and Villa are the best he's been linked with. normally both challenging for Europe.

got this post on my saying Met him in Austria today, Leicester are on a training camp here. Had a little chat with him, told him he needs to come back to leeds, he smiled and said 'I mean, the transfer window is still open, you never know what's gonna happen.' Then Peltier popped up, I said 'Look, here's another one', he replied 'Give me a week!', then he got onto his bike and recall him saying 'see you at Elland Road!'.

he was on about beckford on the 1st one because there is a picture of him with beckford. {Ed013's Note - Please explain as I don't understand? I would swap snodgrass for deffonso, Delph and the right back we had on loan from villa. It is quite clear he does not want to be a Leeds player anymore. Time to go!!

Believable2 Unbelievable3

Y is quite clear he wants out Have you herd him say he wants out of Leeds I dont think so

Agree2 Disagree0

He's refused to sign a new deal and criticised the sale of other players, especially Howson, pretty vociferously. No pics of him with the new kit. All signs point to him wanting out to me.

16 Jul 2012 16:49:45
If Snodgrass isn't happy with what's been put on the table and any other in the same boat we need to get shut and get in the players that will play for the shirt not their bank balance.

Believable5 Unbelievable0

Or we need to make it clear to Bates that we want to see our season ticket money going on retaining our best players rather than improvements to the half-empty stadium. Pay peanuts...

16 Jul 2012 16:35:15
If the snodgrass transfer goes through it's proof in itself that there's no takeover, cos even i'm starting to have doubts now.

Believable5 Unbelievable7

Unless he wont sign regardless of a takeover and its better to get £2.5m+ now rather than let him go for next to nothing in January or nothing next summer. If he wants to leave, let him go and replace him with players who want to play for us

Agree5 Disagree0

16 Jul 2012 16:34:31
I for one am not too bothered whether Snoddy goes or not. Shows class at times, but dissapears too often for me. Surely we need 100% players every week to compete in this league. I have full faith in NW and his methods and I'm sure we will have a strong and consistent team for the battle ahead. Many teams have gone on to better things without their so called star performer. Buzaky or similar would be a better option. Snoddy not fast enough for an out and out winger! And if he wants to go for the money to "NORWICH" of all places ,then surely we should get rid now. With all respect to Norwich, it shows a lack of ambition to me. Desparate to play in the prem.
"T"

Believable11 Unbelievable0

So we just roll over again and sell our best players, we need our best players to get out of this division,it will be for a undisclosed fee yet again (probably only 1.5mil) then we will replace him with an old freebie, people slated Johnson and gradel off saying they were replaceable but they still haven't been replaced with equal talent, were a selling club and a joke to everyone else, snoddy said he will stay if the club shows ambition so if he goes then obviously not

Agree3 Disagree7

16 Jul 2012 16:04:32
Any team can make bids for players. Were we really expecting that nobody would come in for Snodgrass over the (so called) summer? The problem we have here, is that the takeover still hasn't been completed. Teams will try and come in knowing that there is still uncertainty over what is happening 'finance wise', and with the players still uncertain until everything is tied up, it certainly throws cats amongst the pigeons!

The only thing that DOES concern me about this sort of offer, is that whilst these proceedings are yet to be concluded, Bates is still in charge, and can pocket the money for himself. For him, a dream scenario, but for us Leeds Faithful, an absolute nightmare!

MOT! WMS!

Believable4 Unbelievable1

"Bates is still in charge, and can pocket the money for himself"

I'm not sure that's actually correct, depends on how far the takeover has progressed and what's been agreed between the parties concerned while it is ongoing?

Agree1 Disagree0

And only Leeds accept any offer on the table. face it, Neil has to sell to buy, and Snodgrass won't be impressed by our recruitment so far. bye Rob, you did good for us.

Agree0 Disagree3

Don't think he could do that otherwise KB could sell the whole playing squad (and anything else not nailed down) and pocket the money just before running away into the sunset. The players are part of any deal for the club, would be like you selling a house with a lovely kitchen then ripping it out and taking it with you. Think the potential new owners would say that any money from a sale now has to go to the club.

Agree1 Disagree0

Well in regards to the 'rip your kitchen out' post, when we paid for our house, the former owners took the baths, toilets, kitchen, sockets.... Even the light fittings! If KB can get away with it, He'll damn well try to!

MOT! WMS!

Agree1 Disagree1

Doesn't work like that. Both parties would have agreed a "locked box" which is simply an agreed price for the business at a particular time - any profit/loss, whether they are part of transfers or general running of the club will be in the accounts of the business which is Leeds United. So any potential transfer profits will be part of any new owners. JH

Agree1 Disagree0

16 Jul 2012 15:56:31
Ok Ed and everybody else, How much should we accept for Snoddy ?
I reckon £2.5 mill minimum Gj {Ed013's Note - If Leeds were going places then they should reject all bids. In reality this isn't going to happen, because as much as it pains me to say Leeds are a selling club. He may not leave, but you won't be far out with 2.5 million}

Believable3 Unbelievable1

We must not let Snodgrass go (not that we can personally do anything) he is worth far more than 2.5 million to our promotion campaign -

- unless, that is, someone's going to throw a few million quid at some similar or better players, that is?

Hopefully Snoddy's staying put, if only till xmas......

... I am sure Warnock will be good to his word and help him move on if that's what he wants at that time!

Agree3 Disagree2

16 Jul 2012 15:55:01
Can't believe we're selling all our decent players 1st Clayton has gone, then looking at selling McCormack & Snodgrass! Where will our firepower come from?...Becchio can't do it alone! My feeling is we're selling our best players & buying cheap reject or relegated players! This takeover either isn't happening or isn't putting much money in to the squad otherwise we'd see more of the 3million Mackail-Smith type rumours or true links and less of the Portsmouth player or reject links like Gray or free transfered players....worried 4 the club instead of excited! Come on Warnock & Leeds Utd make it a good takeover make me more confident in our future than I currently am at the moment! Keep hold of Snodgrass, McCormack & White & add quality to them....please, please, PLEASE!! {Ed013's Note - Just think, Norwich would have Snoddy, Jonny and Johnson in their midfield in the Premier league. All they need now is Max or Kilkenny and they have our old League 1 Midfield doing well in the Prem. Something is not right at Leeds!}

Believable2 Unbelievable7

Who said we are looking at selling Snodgrass?

Just more idle media speculation because Norwich have made a bid for him?

Doesn't mean he's available, let alone sold....

Agree1 Disagree0

Moan, moan, moan.

None of the players in that team last season are irreplaceable, ESPECIALLY Clayton and INCLUDING Snodgrass.

Sell him quick and let's get on with looking forward to seeing a team full of players who want to play for Leeds.

Agree8 Disagree2

Yawn, yawn, yawn. Pay for the short, don't need him, not as good as he thinks....

Will all you apologists for Bates wake up to what is happening at our club please? It is not good....

Agree0 Disagree3

Nobody's apologising for Bates! How do you come to that ridiculous conclusion? I'm sick to my back teeth of hearing about all these "superstars" in our team last year such as Clayton and Snodgrass.

You need to understand that time is moving on. Our first friendly is in just a few days. This takeover is a complicated procedure and may take too long to complete to be any good to Warnock. Therefore, in my opinion, we need to cash in on Snodgrass (who had a good season in parts but at the beginning and end looked completely disinterested) and give Warnock the cash to sign his players before it's too late. There is no better manager to win promotion to the Premiership. WE NEED TO GIVE HIM THE TOOLS TO DO HIS JOB.

Now tell me I'm apologising for Bates.

why is snodgrass leaving? knowing there is investment in the club just around the corner . I for one know leeds will be promoted this year with warnock in charge. so why would he leave? and if he goes it better be for at least 8million. once again leeds getting rid of the best players! i really hope he stays tho! if not they need a top class player to replace him! MOT {Ed045's Note - No-one has said he is going, Norwich have just tabled a bid for him, doesn't mean he's going yet.

Believable2 Unbelievable8

Sell him Warnock! We want players who want to wear the white shirt.

We're going up this season, and I for one will laugh heartily at a certain 3 canaries when they go down!

Let's not kid ourselves about Snodgrass. He's never fit for a full season, and at times his attitude isn't right. At the beginning and end of last season he didn't look remotely interested.

i like most leeds fans love snoddy and think he is a great player i see norwich have made a bid for him on ssn. know dont shoot me but i think if we can get 4 to 5 million for him then sell him use that money to get in all the players we need like austin , rb, mackail smith , varney , norris , boyd , and maybe another cb i would see it as a good bit of buisness.
also if we kept johnson howson and snoddy if he goes surely we would of had one of the best midfields in the league.
what do u think ed?

this isn't a rumour but how about giving brian howard a 2yr deal? he's 29yrs old with good championship experience and could definately add to the squad for free. Sky sports have done a feature on him being a free agent. maybe not a starter but better squad player than others we have had in the past.

Most hated team in the champ?

GK J Lehmann
RB
CB
CB
LB
RM E Diouf
CM J Barton
CM L Bowyer
LM H Kewell
ST M King
ST L Hughes

I think this team is quite affordable! If we can get Lehmann out of retirement) Don't thinkit will ever get us promoted, but should earn us top spot for red cards!
Please fill in the gaps for Defenders... i am struggling with affordable hated Defenders; (could of gone with a CB pairing of Rio and JT!)

We should all get behind NW signings. I personally think if we get Varney he will be a top addition, after all wasnt Gradel in Leicesters reserves and not even in there plans? Just beacuse a player isnt performing well for there club doesnt mean they dotn have the potential and ability to perform well in a white shirt!

Neil has brought in quite a few players but the midfield still looks thin.Looking at the other teams
which has the most midfielders,my opinion the team
is Norwich City.TRY SIGNING WES HOLLAHAN.ANDREW CROFTS,ANDREW SURMAN.Neil
should take a look at the Norwich team. For me I
would sign Wes Hoolahan to beef up the midfield
with Rodolph Austin with Snodgrass on the right wing and A.White on the left.Mackail Smith and Beechio completes the striker's dept.I will go for Halford on
as right back instesd of Peltier. Anyway leave it to

Takeover or not, i think we'll stand a much better chance this year than last. Reliability in Kenny which we haven't had for a long while at ER and a much more solid backline which will be strengthened further by Peltier if he comes in. Randolph would be a better asset both attacking and defensive than Clayton was. If we replace McCormack with quality like Beckford or McKail-Smith we'll be scoring just as many (if not more) goals than last year. Then all we need is Snoddy to stay. It's a lot of ifs and maybes, but all are very likely at the moment. The defence was the main area that needed strengthening and that has been nearly complete. The rest i hope should follow. JN LUFC

According to YEP website, "LEEDS UNITED midfield target Rodolph Austin has admitted he’d love to come to Elland Road - if the club can agree terms with SK Brann.

The Jamaican international played for Brann in Sunday’s 6-2 win over Odd Grenland, which saw him score a fine long-range strike.

Speaking about his future to Norweigan reporters after the match, Austin said: “I am 27 years now, and I think the timing is right. But it is between the clubs. If I can go to Leeds, thats something I would like.

“I dont know if this was my last game here, but if it was then it was a perfect way to finish”."

Today must be the day that some news comes out of Leeds (takeover/Investment or Players signing/being sold)

I have been looking at videos of Rudolph Austin over the weekend on various internet sites and I'm really impressed by what I have seen. I can't understand why he is valued at only £500k?? Player of the year last season in the league he plays for, International player for his country and at the age of 27 looks to be the complete package... The video I watched showed him Tackling hard, sprinting forwards with the ball taking players on, getting his head on the ball in the box finding the net, scoring free kicks and penalty's, slamming shots in from 30yd and passing balls from long distance!! Warnock get him signed quick before other clubs come sniffing round!!!

My team for next season would be

GK - Kenny
RB - Peltier
CB - Pearce (c)
CB - Lees
LB - Drury
CDM - Austin
RM - Snodgrass
CM - Green
CM - Buzsaky
LM - Rogers
ST - Beckford

Subs: DJ Campbell, Norris, Varney, Becchio, Kisnorbo, A.White, (Another defender)

then with the youth players coming through this year we would look to have a squad which with the guidance of NW and his staff would be more than capable of a Promotion push

I can't believe how much Leeds fans think in the past. Virtually every post about a new player has a reply on it suggesting a former Leeds player in that position who would be a better signing when to be honest most of them left Leeds and have done rubbish or are too old (Beckford and Smith being the main culprits). Also the posts saying your a big club, your not otherwise you would be back in the premiership by now. Your a half decent club similar to Leicester, Notts Forest, Bolton etc who can flash a bit of cash on wages and get a couple of decent signings on frees but don't have the money or the pull to get the real big names. And one final thing I doubt that your getting a multibillionaire to buy the club while its still in the championship. Expect KB to announce a new dodgy refinancing deal where he is still CEO and all the money from transfers is required to go to his pocket to finance this new deal. Enjoy mid table mediocrity again (if your lucky with the squad that you have). {Ed013's Note - You leave a post like that without signing a name to it or telling the fans who you support. Leeds must be a big enough team for yourself to waste time reading and writing on here!}

Sorry was going to write more but the boss came over so I had to post what I had and look like I was doing some work.

Yes I do support a smaller club, I'm a York city fan, my hometown club. And before anyone comments i'm not jealous of Leeds, I support my home town team, I believe in loyalty to your local team, anyway its better than the majority of my coworkers who support premier league clubs, mainly from the other side of the pennines. To be honest i'm not that fussed about Leeds, the only reason I go on the Leeds pages is my fiancee works at the club so I have a little interest in what is happening.

I stand by all my comments, and be honest with yourselves, at the moment you are on a level with the teams I mentioned (although adding Notts forest to that list was a bit harsh, there not that good). The bit about the older players too, I know from reading posts on here that it annoys the majority of you and the editors too.

Hope the takeover goes well, just don't think it will be as big as everyone thinks. Oh and as a postscript, not too many people at the club know anything about the takeover yet, apart from the board obviously and a few department heads so any posts from people at the club are probably wrong (but most of you know that already)

David Hurst, YCFC fan. (Oh Ed, sorry for no e-mail address, I only have a works one at the mo and i'm only allowed to use it for work purposes) {Ed013's Note - Is this a wind up? is someone pretending to be the original poster?This post was sent from 2 different places?}

Leeds not a big club who this guy trying to if were not a big club how can we still pull bigger crowds than the majority of the bottom half of the premiership

Agree0 Disagree0

Leeds may have loads of fans, you can't deny that but the actual team is not that great, getting better but not great. We can have huge amounts of fans at all the games who shout and scream encouragement but the fans are not the ones who get us to the premiership its the players.

Rangers and Celtic both have more fans than some premiership clubs and I wouldn't class them as big teams.

Eddie Gray was in the pub I work at with his family this evening. Took me a good hour to work up the courage but I asked him about the takeover. His response was that he's not involved at all in it and couldn't give details even if he was, so I asked if it was an investment or a TO. He said he was pretty sure its a TO. In terms of timescale, he said that he was confident that all parties will want it comes asap.

Believable1 Unbelievable2

(Sadly) Eddie has no official involvement with Leeds United, these days. I'd love to see him back as a coach as I think this is the role he revels in, as compared to direct management. Remember who was First Team Coach during the Champion's League campaign? It's no coincidence.
