I can see where white knight is coming from regarding who is better ant or moz! Ant is better on the floor and running the channels where as Moz is better at holding the ball up bringing others into play, and a better aerial threat than ant, which is why he is a better option for the 4-2-3-1 system which I would employ away from home but at ER I would play Ant and Moz (not Dec lol) together becoz they would compliment each other. for home matches I would go 4-1-3-2 still using Byram and sloth or mowatt (prob mowatt) for width see you all in the peacock tomoz people MOT DJ

Hunt gone, Warnock gone, Wootton could still go and Sharp. My concern here is that the club is preparing for relegation by getting rid of the highest earners. It may not happen and it shouldn't happen. There is more than enough talent in the squad, they just need to be lead correctly but Cellino has already said it wouldn't be a disaster. My next concern is, why has the 23m investment and January signings been put on hold pending the appeal when Cellino would only be banned for 2 months? is he going to pull out if he loses? my patience is wearing thin with Cellino. A man who takes advice from no one and continues to pursue his own path is either a genius or someone who will crash and burn spectacularly. The problem with the second option is he will take the club and us down with him and so far the second option is way out in front! only time will tell and it is still early days in the attempt to turn this club around but the championship is an unforgiving league and a reality check is needed at the highest level.

Interesting post
I think he is too egotistical for his iwn good. He has to change his ways. And his coach for that matter! Get a manager!

I've seen a lot of doomsaying here and it's not at all necessary. If Redfearn keeps us in the championship this seasons and goes for promotion next season then that's ok. The reason he was successful in the academy is because he knows how to coach the fundamentals very well and it's why we produce good players like Mowatt, Cook, Dawson, Phillips, Denton, etc etc.

In summer we can sign a few more players as more are available and the players we've had this season (Ant, Doukara, Adryan, Del Fabro, Monty) will be experienced in the Championship and know how it works. Cellino is batpoo mental but he knows how to play the game. He owned Cagliari for over 20 years and ran it well whereas us fans have owned a club of that size for no time at all. I think we should give Cellino and Redfearn another season before we start to really get on their backs and see what they can come up with.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I think u hit the nail on the head IF he keeps us up but realistically we are playing relegation football at present and although we
Would love redders to succeed it ain't looking great

Agree0 Disagree0

For me mate we just need one more win and we could go on a bit of a run. I actually have no fears about relegation even as we are because we all know how quickly things can change in the championship.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes ditto to the IF. And I don't want it to be dependent on the result of the last match

Agree0 Disagree0

Guys we aren't going down. We played some really good games to begin with this season under Neil and we will again. We will finish comfortably above the relegation spaces and hopefully sign some of the better players long term. We should be well under the FFP restrictions and will be able to sign better players for more sizeable fees. Salerno will have also watched more English football and have his eye in some quality from these shores. Keep the faith lads.

Why on earth can't we attract big owners we are a massive club, a city of more than700,000 people I'm puzzled!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Good question Mr J. been asking myself that since the Revie era!

Agree0 Disagree0

To attract the high earners we need to attract the fans to bring in the extra money. And to attract the fans to bring in the extra money we need to attract the high earners.
Viscous circle.

Agree0 Disagree0

We get more support that quite a few prem clubs

I think most of us are starting - or have started - to lose patience now with Neil Redfern as a place in the relegation places beckons. After the euphoria of getting rid of the desperately dreadful Hock, most of us reasonable-minded fans were prepared to give NR a chance. I'm beginning to see now why MC sacked so many managers at Cagliari - he just appoints duffers.for reasons best known to himself. Cheap and inexperienced is never a good formula for the Championship.
Apart from this, is it just me, or does Redfern just spout gibberish? Most of what he says is convoluted nonsense that doesn't make sense. Has he got a spin doctor advising him? I appreciate he doesn't want to upset Cellino, but some tell-it-how-it-is plain speaking to both us fans and his players might not come amiss, instead of the gobbledigook he keep churning out.Get a grip man, and blerdy quick!! MOT!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Almost totally agree, except it is theoretically possible to find the right man without spending a fortune, and spending a fortune doesn't guarantee the coach will be any good. But can't fault what you say about NR and the garbage he spouts. Stopped listening or watching his pre match press conferences because they are all identical, and his after match comments seem to concentrate on how he is improving the situation despite the fact we have just been garbage and lost. The phrase 'results speak for themselves' comes to mind. For me Neil, get us the results and keep your mouth shut!

Agree0 Disagree0

I think Redfearn may have discovered the vault containing Brian McDermott's sound bites. It is time his team started doing the talking on the pitch

Agree0 Disagree0

And also, why does he virtually announce his team and tactics a couple of days before every match? Not that the opposition need much help to beat us, but ffs

Agree0 Disagree0

His team

Agree0 Disagree0

Spot on Speedy, and yes, it is "theoretically possible" to hire a decent manager/coach without spending a fortune. Problem is, I think we've become a pretty unattractive proposition for most capable operators. No doubt if Redders gets the push, there'll be a long list of applicants, but given the low salary, MC calling practically all the shots, lack of authority in signing anybody and sub-standard team apart from one or two plus the youngsters, would any of them be who we would like? (Apart from that, it's a decent job really har har!!!)

Agree0 Disagree0

My biggest concern is that the sale of Warrnock opens the flood gates. How many of our players have been unsettled by the endless ownership wrangle, manager changes, and poor form/league position brought about by useless tactics. We are now into the second half of the January window and my quess is that we will be seen to be in a weak position and that our players will want away. I expect quiet a few low bids for our better players who can't possibly have much faith in the current set up at Leeds. I think we are in greater trouble than we know.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Merv
Don't think Warnocks sale will affect offers coming in, but I know what you mean about risk of players being unsettled. There will def be interest in the likes of Cook and Mowatt, and I'm sure Byram had offers and will have them again. But if MC says no they won't be going anywhere. I'd be very surprised and disappointed if he let's any of our 'stars' go in January. The summer is a different matter. Interest in Billy Sharp, and won't be surprised if he goes. Never had any service here to have many chances to score, so we will never know if he would have been any good given the opportunity

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jan 2015 14:51:40
Dosent matter who we have in our team or sign
Changes needed at top end. Both where we sign from and how we play
Team is mid table ability but totally confused about how they should play!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Agree - You only have to look at Brighton and Bolton to see what can happen to a team doing nothing with a new Manager experienced in the BRITISH game - both starting to get results with Lennon and Hughton.

Lets get Redders back to the academy and get a proven manager in who can ensure survival - even if on a short term contract to end of season.

nr says morison great last week and taylor as had to wait so we got rid of warnock so now taylor plays is that logic morison could of scored that's the header it sounded like that was his only chance so nr now thinks morison is it after not playing for 18mths so the question is why as he not played from start of season answer rubbish

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Would be interesting to hear if there is one single person who thinks Morrison should play rather than Antennuci

Agree0 Disagree0

16 jan 2015 16:15:05
yes one nr

Agree0 Disagree0

His Mum!

Agree0 Disagree0

OK. I'll take the bait.

I like Antennucci but he is more of a number 10 than a striker. Also his lack of goals and more so his lack of height are an issue now. An advantage with Morrison at least is he is capable of getting his head on a ball. He's put in a good shift the last couple of games so give him a chance. We may also stand a chance from set pieces.

Agree0 Disagree0

I hope you really are a white knight with the Fanfare about Morison to make him perform and get us out of trouble.

But I fear you may be yet another varlet backing a losing contender at the jousting this weekend.

Hope I am wrong.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd love to be proved wrong, and hope you are right white knight. If we start to get results, I don't care who he plays

got to push byram forward then ball into box at feet and for ant not Morrison no effort lazy with our luck he get two and be hero and then that will be it he'll never score again have to play ant none stop effort wise always on move

Redfearn now saying Morrison is set to get his opportunity. What is Neil doing in charge of this club!

Antenucci is by far better than Morrison, not his fault the service is non existent.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

16 Jan 2015 12:20:49
Totally agree,Redfern is totally out of his depth. The system needed changing not the players.

Agree0 Disagree0

Big Big risk if he chooses Morrison over Antenucci

Agree0 Disagree0

Been saying it for a while
Redders go
Academy is his level

Agree0 Disagree0

Well I've supported Redders through thick and thin. Well thin mostly. But won't be able to keep up that support unless we have got a few points by the end of the month

Worrying times for our club boys & girls. Wootton brought back, Morison to be given a go, no signings until after outcome of appeal (may be too late by that time). Just goes to show who exactly IS running the Show at the merry-go-round called Leeds United. I really fear for our club with Cellino's latest puppet Redfearn being a total Simon Says. Roll on tomorrow & hopefully a win! Come on boys

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Im seriously worried too
Mc. Blinkered. And inexperienced in champ
Redders. Blinkered and inexperienced in champ
Team. Baffled and mainly inexperienced in champ. Let alone a relegation battle. Lots have to change and now. Or we are down.

need someone strong in air at back and big hold up striker who can lay off to ant

Believable0 Unbelievable0

16 Jan 2015 11:49:34
The answer is bamba for me. Really strong and commanding in defence and was foxes fans favourite for a reason.
Come on Leeds, 3 points is a must. Mot lads.

Agree0 Disagree0

Players are not the answer boys
Its a total revamp of ideas and strategy by bosses!

Agree0 Disagree0

Have to agree Ausman, time for Cellino to completely change his strategy, we need a proven manager at this level or above, and give him control of picking the players he wants, don't really thin the foreign players we have are up for the battle, yes we have some talented players but inexperienced at this level, couple this with Redders team selection and tactics and we willstruggle to stay in this league, c'mon Cellino, Redders ain't the man to keep us up, if he's relying on Morrison then God help us, time for drastic action NOW.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jan 2015 09:32:43
Although I don't fully agree with the transfer policy, you have to remember that this is what cellino did for 20 years or so at Cagliari and therefore I can't see him breaking his habit of scouring the Italian markets anytime soon! To be fair I think Antenucci, Silvestri and Cooper have been some decent signings by Cellino, although not convinced by Berardi and adryan needs to show more. I'm obviously not happy in the situation we are in but at least Cellino has stuck by us and pumped money into us, if we can survive bates and the whole fall from grace from the prem I think we can survive Cellino at the helm. We just need to rotate the squad and freshen it because I thought we have Sunderland a good game and could of won at Bolton all because we switched things up a bit. Now I think we need to dip into the market, were now missing a general at the back with Warnock gone, cooper is good but young, therefore as many have said Bamba seems like he could be an option. Upfront I think we need Chris Wood as many have also stated as he is strong, alright in the air and intelligent. Keith Andrews is unwanted by his club and he has experience and could play that holding role. However I highly doubt we'll get any of those 3 but a man can dream.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Good post Surrey, you are right, we won't get the English players we want. But Cellino has brought some good players in imo
I think we have got the nucleus of a promotion team IF we can stay up. We have thrown a lot of silly points away due to mistakes/inexperience. And if Redders pulls his finger out and gets selection, formation and substitutions correct we should be able to pull well clear of the relegation positions

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jan 2015 11:52:57
That's on the money speedo. Mot for 3 points.

Agree0 Disagree0

Cellino has bought some good players??

He has bought 17 I think (may be wrong but it's loads) and I can say that a maximum of 3 have been any good. 18% success rate = Rubbish.

Agree0 Disagree0

He needs to start scouring the english leagues now he is in England!

Redders heaping praise on Morison so expect him to start against Birmingham. He took his chance and played well and gave us a new dimension said redders.

He must of watched a different game to me, I worry about beating Birmingham now if he is our lone striker.

Cant see us getting a goal ut hope I am proved very wrong.
MOT

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Totally agree, the best chance Morison had was the stooping header that was tipped over by their keeper. A confident striker would have swept that in on the volley, low and hard, keeper would not have stood a chance. Don't be suprised if Morison plays up front with Antenucci tomorrow in the return of the dreaded diamond

Agree0 Disagree0

16 jan 2015 09:36:53
morison no way in a million years never tries want ball to his feet two away and just stands there nr hopeing

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes Ox
He's definitely going to play Morrison.
Can't blame Cellino for that!

Agree0 Disagree0

I am so worried. Fluke 3 points and redders stays
We have bosses who are clueless
Begining to feel sorry for the players. The tactics are all over the place!
