I often think that if finances are tight (when are they not) then the worldwide net should be cast further to find raw diamonds. Surely there are chances of finding a young centre back/striker in a footballing country in the lower reaches of the FIFA rankings. Just because the whole team is not rated does not mean that there is a standout player in the lineup who only needs English training/polishing to make him a success and should not be a large outlay/gamble initially.
Remember we brought over Massinga and Radebe from South Africa when it was a FIFA minnow and look how that turned out.

A club would need(pipe dream)a scouting system for that!

what is funny is we didn't really want lucas we only got him to secure the massinger deal. any good players would probably be found by bigger teams soucting systems

Does anyone know how much it would cost to buy Leeds United - no I am not contemplating, just curious.
I have heard several figures around the 50/60 mill and recently someone said 90 mill. How accurate are these and do the figures inc TArch, Elland Rd and any outstanding debt?
If you have a figure please say where you got it from as some amounts seem to be guessology.

I think MCs investment / buyout was £25mil for 75%. The rest is owned by single investors and GFH (10%)
This would probably make the club worth around £35 mil when it was bought.

With most of the depts wiped and "winding" up orders dealt with, and the fact we now have some assets (Mowatt, Cook and Byram) I think a figure of upwards £60million could be demanded.

I genuinely think the club is being turned into a blank canvas with a solid youth foundation so it can be marketed as so.

The club and its assets would fetch 60 mill but then there are still debts, monies paid by Cellino to clear old debts, that would need to be settled by whoever bought us. We will never know the amount until we reach that point
