why all of a sudden target Jonny Howson to s**t on? the lad is nothing more than an asset to the club. scores vital goals, sets up more, most appearances for us in the squad, club captain (at just 23!) sure he could improve on his leadership, but that will come with age and experience!

Complete disgrace that people on here are saying there not attending games because of bates. U really are not leeds fans ur shocking. Get behind the lads and be proud to be Leeds singing ur heart out against the scum on tuesday! The Bates hating is falling on deaf ears, and Grayson is addressing most of the problems people were criticizing him over, so tw@'s need someone new to pick on. get a life.

I am one of those criticising Howson and SG if that matter - I attend games home and away and have every right to have my say!! If Howson was so good and worthy of a game despite how well he plays why are all the Premiership clubs not lining up to buy him - I appreciate his running around box to box but he MUST ACHIEVE something when he does so!! As for SG how long is the defence issue going to go one being unresolved!! I have every right to have my say!! Believe me when I say that I will be singing with the rest of them when WE are 6-0 down to the scum - I Still support Leeds through thin and thinner!! Can't stand the Rose tinted glasses brigade!

Howson is one of the teams biggest problems not asset - he is a passenger for most games defensively non existent and one of the causes for our defensive frailty. Supporters look at both Howson, and Grayson for that matter, through rose coloured specs because they are 'local boys' - it is time to judge on performance not where their place of birth. As for his leadership skills - a Captain should inspire and get the best out others others by their contribution, their presence and by example - does this discribe Howson ??

I think Grayson is more qualified to decide who his own team captain is. or do you mean to say you know Howson and his personality better than his boss?
Not every capt has to shout all game, Beckham never shouted for england! He is also the hardest working player we have, box to box all game! he is our best and most loyal player, something that is few are far between, and if he is s**te why did pearce call him up for international duty last year?

It seems a few people on here are suspect over Johnny Howson and his leadership qualities..! I agree when he is up for it he can change the game (Burnley away) but he's not consistent enuff in my opinion. We need a true leader on the park, someone who directs and picks players morale up when the team concedes - I never see Johnny doing this.. Personally Paddy would be better or Andy Lonergan

Have u been to any games this season ,you can't have if you think paddy for captin he can not run any more looks in pain when he tries to run.I wouldn't be surprised if he called it a day before end of season.It's a shame the lads had 2 very bad injures
Johnny never picks a player up when there having a bad day... Was first to Lees and Paddy if I remember correctly after own goals, was also first to gradle when he missed pen, but he don't do that does he!

Got to admit good shout from Dom there because we are hardly going to sign quality defenders with the window not opening again til January and Bates' frugal approach to money right now. Can't bear another season of leaking 80 goals but that's exactly where we're headed. Such a shame because midfield and attack are decent. I think most Championship clubs envy our midfield and attack.

You might as well say 'bring in Mourinho as defensive coach'. There is zero possibility that someone with the record, reputation and ego as George Graham would return as a specialist coach to club he has previously managed. So why say it? pointless.
I doubt GG's ego would permit him to be a Coach.

Maybe Matteo, i agree, or the Chief?! He would be an inspiration at least. Danny Mills still lives in Harrogate. Other candidates could be David Weatherall ( but he has a good job at Football league or Nigel Worthington if he leaves Northern Ireland.
I think it would appeal to George Grahams ego,would love the chance to sort the defence out, AND put himself back in the public eye,his defensive record is impressive,as for Nigel Worthington, ha.

Am I the only Leeds fan who is bemused by the fact Jonny Howson is seen as 'GOLDENBALLS' at Leeds United. I am yet to see a more over rated player in a Leeds United shirt. He has the ability to disappear and for games to pass him by and yet in others pop up and score goals. I am mystified how he is seen as a captain - he appears far to quiet and certainly no leader. We simply need better in midfield and I see him along with our defence as the weekest link!
No I think I could agree with you there. A talented player when he wants to be, but never a captain. It's sometimes bemused me as to why he got the captaincy, but then again there isn't a player at Leeds that lasted as long as he has or is likely to last. Apart from howson you couldn't guarantee the future of anyone else in that team.
When he plays badly, the team do. when he's on (rare) form, we're unplayable. put it this way I'd rather him be here than anywhere else. but he still has a lot of improving to do.
I agree when he plays well so do we. He's not been at his best so far, but when Brown is your partner would you?
He was on LUTV and was quoted as saying something along the lines of 'but its something im learning and getting better at' when asked about his role as captain. He isn't a natural leader. Captaincy should be given to either Paddy or Bechio.
