Typical. QPR allowed to play in League. Shame shame shame. We would be out of the league. How can the FL justify this?

Believable3 Unbelievable0

16 May 2015 00:02:15
Thought they had to pay a massive fine before they could play, what a joke, FL not fit for purpose

Agree3 Disagree0

16 May 2015 05:58:26
It is justified because QPR near that London. Old boy network. Leeds always has been always will enemy of the state. Just another reason why our souls are superior. The Almighty is a Leeds fan. I don't like QPR.

16 May 2015 07:46:34
Ha George. I don't like anyone. I thought it was only me.

Agree1 Disagree0

16 May 2015 12:02:10
Well QPR can afford a huge fine so the FL will be all over that like a rash. A poor club for example, Leeds, Luton, Portsmouth, Chester are made to suffer by throwing them down the leagues and docking upteen points for good measure. So really the FFP rules are a joke as rich teams can buy their way out of trouble

Agree0 Disagree0

16 May 2015 19:32:51
Smitchell, welcome to capitalism and corruption. People forget football or soccer is the richest most corrupt sport in world.

Agree0 Disagree0

17 May 2015 10:12:26
QPR have been fined £58million. They are challenging this and the whole FFP rule in the courts. If they lose this will mean anyone who goes up will take the Burnley formula of spending as little as possible.

Wonder what happened to the McCormack 11 million.
Wages for new players I'm sure someone will say.
Jesus them new players must be getting some salary
Deducting player in from players out we got in about 8 players. So they are all on approx 26,000 a week.
My point being would it not make financial sense to buy ER with maybe half that eleven million and mortgage the rest. Be a damn sight cheaper than the current rent agreement. But, didn't Cellino say the first thing he would do was re purchase ER? He has enough money to do so. Like I and some others have said, he is a hard man to trust.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

15 May 2015 21:36:32
Once again Cellino GFH. Why would he buy ER for them to benefit if they are not willing to invest. He could buy it and rent it back to us free but that will only enhance the value of GFH shares. It must be complex for Cellino to make any major investment like that If he was sole owner I think he would have bought the ground back last year

Agree1 Disagree0

15 May 2015 21:53:21
If he had bought ER we would not have had any players in and be in league one now. We would not be buying players this year either so we would be down there in 2017 as well. All transactions are accounted for with FFP.

Agree1 Disagree2

16 May 2015 00:42:45
It looks like the McCormack money went on cutting last year's losses and improving the finances, which it should have done, judging by the removal of the embargo. Some fans seem to want a sugar daddy who spends way more than the club has and leave us with huge debts, like Chelsea or Man City or for someone on a smaller scale, QPR. That is no way to run a club, have we learned nothing from Ridsdale? Getting the finances in order and spending realistic sums it what it should be for the foreseeable future. That looks to be the way we're heading.

Agree1 Disagree1

16 May 2015 09:27:32
Yes SG but selling your most valuable assests to not make a loss is not a sustainable business. It's happened under bates, gfh and Cellino (although credit where it's due £11mil was a good amount for Ross), unfortunately our academy boys will be next this is the mad Italians business plan at Cagliari buy cheap sell expensive.

Agree1 Disagree1

16 May 2015 19:35:23
Cellino is a liar, an asset stripper who uses his lunacy as a cover for getting rich personally. He does not have lufc best interests at heart. Why would he? He was born some 1500 miles away.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 May 2015 18:20:44
I know your all going to disagree which is fine. But am I the only one who love cellinio. I love reading his comments and watching the way he acts. Him going outside for a cig made me chuckle for a good while. I know people aren't keen on him but he has brought in players, yes a lot weren't brilliant but he admitted he panicked with the transfer embargo looming. With Pearson in I do believe we will sign some good players during pre season. He may be waiting for Warburton he might not but I'm happy to wait and see what he does bring in. But for pure amusement value I'm happy to stick with him for a year or two to see where he takes us. We finished the league in near enough the same position as last year on half the wages.

Believable5 Unbelievable3

15 May 2015 19:31:33
That makes two of us then I like listening to him although he doesn't make sense much and contradicts himself a lot but he's great to listen to

Agree1 Disagree0

16 May 2015 00:46:01
I agree with you awaydays, he's still in my good books. I don't know who or what the Cellino Out brigade think is waiting to takeover magically, but Red Bull can get lost imo. He's improved the financial position, sold off high earners and journeymen and brought some good young players in. Silvestri is probably worth 10x what we paid for him already.

Agree1 Disagree0

15 May 2015 18:13:23
Have to say I agree with Cork White. Cellino is in this for profit and his own ego. He stated last season "It would not be the end of the world if we got relagated".Imagine if Bates had said that or GFH had brought in Hockaday. He will continue to lend the club money until he is ready to sell the club, then he will get his money back and more.

Believable2 Unbelievable1

15 May 2015 20:59:44
Spot on. It's one of the reasons he sacks so many managers. He has a huge ego and won't allow anyone overshadowing him. Look at his press conference. Why did he call it? Did he have anything to say, like Redders will be offered a new contract, or I will be buying ER back. Nope, he just rambled on a bit about an unfit giant, left for a fag, then came back and rambled on a bit more. This man has to be the centre of attention and it's the chop for anyone who might take some of the limelight off him. Be prepared for at least two managers next season.

MM

Agree2 Disagree0

15 May 2015 21:46:03
Yes spot on, all owners are in it for the money. Cellino knows the big money is in the premiership. He can hog the limelight all he wants and talk nonsense as long as he takes us forward. Or he could sell to some two bit consortium who have to sell two players a year to balance books then we can look forward to playing Millwall again

Agree0 Disagree2

16 May 2015 14:18:18
So he took us forward last year did he? Three managers and a bunch of renegade italians. I don't believe he puts much thought into his decisions as all three managers seemed to be picked on a whim. At least he seems to be taking longer this time. Just a shame he hasn't informed NR of his plans which would be the decent thing to do.

Beckford is free to find a new club after the way simon grayson has him playing so well again worth a chance what's everyone's thoughts?

Believable3 Unbelievable4

15 May 2015 20:46:36
I for one think he is worth a punt. No transfer fee and we already know that he can score goals. He looks happy at Preston so if Grayson gets them up he might be Preston bound

16 May 2015 07:22:09
Beckford been and gone, should be looking for good young strikers for future, only one we have who I have seen play and could hold his own is Stokes but not ready yet. Think if Mcdaid gets some reserve games under is belt and given a bit of encouragement he will be good, strong lad with a direct approach. And obviously Montenegro if he stays

Agree0 Disagree0

15 May 2015 17:08:36
I think Cellino could be waiting for tonight's result. If he can get Warburton. If not(he will have other offers)he will probably stick with Redders.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

15 May 2015 19:35:51
No need to wait if he wants him as Warburton is leaving Brentford whatever the result

From Adam Pearson :

The club's new executive director Adam Pearson, appointed on Monday, said he was satisfied the club was heading in the right direction.

"Yes because I have seen the balance sheets," he said. "Mr Cellino has put money into the club and it looks set for me for a good future.
"I wouldn't be here otherwise. It looks in good shape."

It seems like some actually believe all the nonsense MC spouts. He will buy back ER. He will sell up in 2 years if not gone up. Young lads not for sale. He is passionate about Leeds. All rubbish talk.
No sign of ER being purchased. Originally he said 2 years for promotion but that has changed to three. If someone offers over 10 million for Byram, he is gone and maybe 12 million for Mohatt. Oh, and he tried very hard to buy West Ham before he settled on Leeds United, so I would hardly say that he passionate about our club. Just because goes off on rants and gesticulates a lot, does not mean he gives a flying f about LUFC.
I said yesterday i'd rather Bates than MC. Not sure about that statement now in the cold light of day, as I wouldn't trust either man. It's just the frustration of all the lies and deceit that Cellino throws at us all. The day he sacked numerous background staff (kitchen staff etc) I new this man was not the leader we needed. Leeds United is a large family club who should be looking after it's own. And those who say cost cutting was needed, well what about all the dross players he brought in who are getting paid handsomely, which is why they left Italy, not to mention Salerno who's job it seems was to purely bring in the lower division Italian league players.
We had hard times in the 80s but now is an all time low. Don Revie would not regonize the club.

Believable3 Unbelievable1

15 May 2015 13:02:40
Cellino said himself he looked at the players who were not playing who had been brought in, costing 9 mill in wages, and said that needs to change. Buy back of Elland road would cost around 15 mill which is a debt we cannot afford right now, especially when we got GFH hanging on our coat tails offering no investment but wanting their cut of any profits. Maybe all the vociferous supporters would be better chanting GFH out instead of trying to drive out the only person who is willing to invest in the club.

Agree6 Disagree3

15 May 2015 14:03:45
I agree BIGE. Cellino may be a tad eccentric and probably say too much, but I beleive he does have the best interests at heart.
I know he said promotion I'm 2 years but that was always an aspiration, you can't just buy it.
People need to quit whinging and trust a little bit. The balance sheets are better than when he took over so that's a positive! If employees went, it's probably because they were costs that could be removed. Alright, some players brought in may not have worked, but I am pretty sure that wasn't the intention, plus a transfer embargo didn't help!
Don't think this an all time low Corky, I think we have a good structure in place now Adam Pearson is on board.
Don't forget, this is a business and needs running like one, not like recent times when Ridsdale was in charge

Agree0 Disagree3

15 May 2015 14:59:32
I agree bige
So what if we don't buy back eland road
Promotion first eh

Agree1 Disagree2

15 May 2015 15:35:19
Cellino says a lot. That's it. He says lots of BS and never backs it up. And as for running the club like a business, I hate to say it, that's what Bates did. Every year under his reign the club made money, but at what expense? I dread to think who is going to replace NR. There are some good manager/coaches out there who would normally jump at the chance to work at Leeds. But will they come with the crazy man in charge? I doubt it. So unless Cellino changes the way he operates, the likes of Lambert, Poyet and even Grayson will stay well clear. I hope I am wrong, but let's get ready for another Hockaday type appointment and a long season ahead.

Agree2 Disagree2

15 May 2015 17:10:47
Who made Redders head coach, who brought Bamba in, Berlusci in, Cooper in, Antennucci in, Sylvestri in, so some have not worked and some have not been given the chance to work but it was not just the young lads who got us to a safe place. He could have, and probably should have, just kept Norris Tonge Pearce etc. for the thanks he gets

Agree1 Disagree1

15 May 2015 18:14:47
Leeds can't afford Elland Road right now, Cellino can but what would be the point? We'd still have to pay rent and it would just be owned by someone else. Unless you want us to sell a young player for big money and buy back ER, but then the fans would moan about that too. Better off waiting until promotion to buy back ER.

Agree0 Disagree1

15 May 2015 19:33:41
You can keep all of them players Bige except for Bamba who has been excellent. We need players who will integrate
Into the squad and not down tools when they are told, or feel like it. Their attitudes are all wrong. A shame as Antenucci is a decent striker and keeper has potential. Pretty sure MC was not there when Bamba was brought in as he was exiled at the time.

I have not heard all the press conference but it seems from the bits I caught I am as enlightened as all those that sat through it. Until we are heading down a tunnel (with the light getting brighter and brighter) then let's stop calling for heads to roll. Some people criticise the manager changes yet as soon as they take against an owner they want him out.
We could get (and have had) much worse. His heart seems to be in the right place let's hope his head is catching up quickly.
So far after the season end we have had nothing but good news and no indication of bad news so let's all calm down await the next set of anouncements and March on Together.
If he has a pair then Pearson could be the voice of reason/restraint on Pinochios shoulder. Counselling against any rash Latin decisions and pushing for slow organic growth.

Believable1 Unbelievable2

15 May 2015 10:55:18
Not sure how happy I am about YEP latest article branding the press conference as a soap opera surely a little good press wouldn't be too much to ask.

Guess everyone knows about Poyet?

Nope. Poyet?

Agree0 Disagree1

15 May 2015 08:02:57
Well I haven't seen, listened to, or read anything from the MC press conference, and don't intend to. What's the point? We have known from day one he was bonkers, talks gibberish, speaks without thinking, and promises things he can't realistically deliver.
HOWEVER. If he manages to keep our young talent (and the Cook signing is a good start), splashes the cash on a few quality additions in the right positions,, gets the right manager/coach, and gets us promotion - I personally don't mind if he's as mad as the mad hatters uncle who was too mad to invite to the tea party.
And as for those people who say they would prefer to have Bates than MC. Really? I mean REALLY??
Now THAT is madness that goes way off the madness scale. I dread to think what league we would be in with him still in charge - that's if we even still existed!

Believable5 Unbelievable0

15 May 2015 09:14:01
Agree with you Speedy. He's DEFINITELY bonkers, but infinitely better than Bates. He's gone on record to say he will sell the club if he doesn't bring promotion to the PL by 2017. You got to have balls to make a statement like that, and to be honest, I believe him. If he doesn't succeed, he'll go. As fans, I think we've got to accept that he talks out of his ar*e a lot of the time, but maybe, just maybe, his heart is in the right place, and he actually wants to come good on half stuff he spouts! I don't think he's in it for the money, there isn't any! That said, get us to the PL and he'll make a quid or two!

Agree3 Disagree1

15 May 2015 09:18:11
You're right there Speedy. I'm Mad (the clue is in the name) and I have showed my discontent with Cellino recently but I would still much prefer to have the loon in charge than Bates and can't believe the old goats name is being even mentioned on here. Of the two, one is as mad as a box of frogs but passionate about the club (in his own way) and will have to put up or shut up with his promises, the other is a greedy old get who can't stand leeds United, calls the fans morons and just wants a platform to stick two fingers up to the FA.

Whether you like Cellino or not, this club is in a far better place than when he took over. He has finally admitted we have too many foreign players and that we need some players with championship experience. Let's see what the close season holds in store. It's clear Redders is gone. Who we get will tell us what we can expect next season. Any ideas??
