What is is it about Leeds fans and Belusci? He is far better than Cooper and Wooton. He is a better footballer - on the ball- than Bamba and he has saved the team more times than I care to remember. Like all players he can make mistakes but they are recorded and dwelt on all the time and used to call for his departure. I have seen Mowatt play badly, Cook play badly, Murphy play badly,Bamba play very badly and Taylor play badly. Because of some bond, I suspect, these mistakes and bad days are treated like they should be. Learn from it and move on. Even when they don't learn quickly it is still accepted as part of the development. In many ways Belusci is a class act. Comfortable on the ball, can tackle and and can pass better than most. Incidentally Mowatt's passing on Thursday was abysmal and Cook didn't last long. Looking back over the past 6 - 9 months Leeds have kept clean sheets and rarely concede more than one goal when Belusci was playing alongside Bamba. We concede three times that when he isn't. Where's the logic to his constant criticism. I know Noel Whelan is not keen on him but he isn't that keen on 'pretty boy' (as he calls him I believe) Silvestre either. Is it that Italians don't go down too well at Elland Road? Antenucci is by far and away our best finisher. Hope Wood can do better.

Totally agree with every word Hesslian. We've not got a better option than him and Bamba together, and those two should be the first two names on the team sheet every game. If they hadn't been so solid last season, we would probably have gone down

Well said ,I think if the fans get behind him more he would become even better ,yes he has made mistakes but as you point out so have others .
I would like to see him in a de /mid role when we face certain teams as he can actually hold and play the ball .

I am another Bellusci fan although I felt like nutting him for not cutting out that cross against Burnley.

Think Berlusci is a good player at CH. Good awareness and passes the ball well. My point was I think he could play in that midfield holding role and last seasons when teams were walking through us he could have done a job there. Him and Bamba are our best pairing and we have midfielders now,

Thats why aus I said earlier if we could find someone to take belusis place at the back and give belusci the no 4 shirt?

I think Belusci could do a job as holding midfielder but I thought that was why we have the lad Tom A. from Cardiff on loan. If we do go for another CH it will be a bit of a lottery. Bamba is OK with the majority of Championship strikers but with fast nippy or clever strikers he struggles by his own admission as proved the case last season. He needs a ball playing, hard tackling CH who is mobile and can complement his aerial power and presence not another hulk. Finding one at a decent price will be difficult and once here it may take a while for them settle into a consistent pairing. Not saying we shouldn't look but at present Bamba and Belusci are our best option - in my opinion

d.s. stop blaming everything on Thursday when it is quite clear to all and sundry that the only plausible thing to blame it on is in fact the boogie!

First half of last season silv was awesome. Got a bit dithery at end of season and against burnley he was awful so I'm happy we have turnbal and I would start with him
Pleased with Berradi too. Good start to season
Gotta try ant and wood together even if we rest Dallas. Ant deserves a good go!
Also. Must be a training attitude thing with sloth. But def should sell because if he prefers Wooten in midfield to sloth. Something's def wrong.
2-3 out 2-3 in.

How was Silvestri 'awful' against Burnley. Was it because he conceded a goal that the defence should have stopped at source or was it because he made a number of good saves to keep us in the game.
Which Burnley game did you watch?

15 Aug 2015 12:17:37
We have no strong backs.
Success starts from defense and when you play a weak man like Cooper everything collapses.
Overall we are a decent team but will go nowhere without strength and confidence.
My humble opinion and time will tell.

Chris. I watched same game as you and my opinion is
Along with belucci. Silv was a liability. He flapped at everything and didn't have a clue where he should be or what he should do. Ok. He can stop shots and penalties. But he is so much worse than last season it's not funny. Belucci is worth the gamble but silv will cost us this season.
