Botaka played 90mins today in the u21s got an assist. Uwe said on Saturday "we've two choices for botaka either play him Monday or Tuesday" he's played tonight so I'm presuming there's no place for him against Ipswich.

{Ed013's Note - Assistant confirmed today that he won't play any part tomorrow mate. I suppose he could make the bench if needed, but for now he is ruled out}

Ok so the start has not been spectacular . We have new players, new coach, new system and we're still unbeaten. What we really need is stability which will in time bring its reward. This clamour for Erwin, why? No logic at all. Mowatt is off his game as is Byram they will come good, remember it's only a few weeks ago that the posts were mainly hoping we didn't lose these two players to clubs who are in the Premier league ( note I didn't say bigger ). Saturday was disappointing, but we still got a point. Lots of positives, were not shipping in lots of goals, so if we score a couple it should be 3 points. Apart from a couple a players most of the so called dead wood has gone, perhaps Doukara is not for us, Wooten has the game I saw it last year when he came back from Rotherham. so it's going to come, I really can see top six. Keep the faith

I'm sure Mowatt and Byram will both come good ,but so far both have been off there game and not just for one game .
Wood we know can score goals but seems to work better and be more of a threat when partnered with Ant .
I would like us to start 4-4-2 and then maybe change are formation as and when depending on result ,when we were 2-0 against Bristol to have brought on Bel as a defensive mid and to have tried to hold the ball in midfield rather than sitting back defending which is are week point esp if balls are flying in from set plays as silv never looks comfortable on corners and balls coming into the box.

I do think if we go 4-4-2 then there isn't a place for Mowatt in the starting 11 and/or possibly Adimyemi (Even though I think he has done well with 5 in midfield). Cook is what makes us tick and I think we have missed Murphy so far. This is not to say I don't think we should go 4-4-2. At home I would like to see Antenucci given a start with Wood and see what that brings. Mowatt has to play in a 5, as he is not the fastest, but playing by the side of Cook and Murphy he comes into his own. I'm in for some stick here, but Mowatt can be quite a luxury player in my eyes. Kind of a better Killkenny :)

Well it would be good to see the following line up, just to see if the wingers can really feed Wood and Antenucci.

Silvestri

Byram
Bamba
Cooper
Taylor

Botaka
Cook
Mowatt
Dallas

Wood
Antenucci

Murphy instead of Mowatt - a little more experience, Byram further up (Botaka on bench, and use as a game changer type) and Berrardi back in as he has been good here.

Nowhere for Adeyemi though, which is a shame. Burt that's 4-4-2 for you.

Agree with that team but would have Murphy instead of Mowatt. Mowatt on bench with Ady, Berlusci, Berardi, Erwin, Phillips

Uwe not going to give up his number 1 system of 4-3-3 after a couple of average home performances (Weddies/Brent) cause it is a system he believes in and has bought in players with that in mind.

From his point of view he will say it is working OK (work in progress) as we have not lost and should have 2 wins really (bristol 99 times out of 100 would win if 2 up in last min), so he is not going 442. To me I think that is OK as long as he has plan B and or plan C, I think it is important you believe in a style/plan as the players then all understand what they are doing. If you keep changing your mind with systems then they seem to get a bit confused.

I would start with Murphy (Mowett injured anyway so what is point risking when we strong in midfield), I would rest Bryan and ask him to get himself right again for maybe 2,3 4 games on bench, may help him refocus.

In terms of squad spirit which was split last year you can't replace Berardi on footballing terms with Bryan, if you did I think it would cause trouble, Berardi there on merit and the squad needs to believe that no favs, if you play well you stay in. Redders had a problem with this last year.

In my opinion I would tell (not ask) Ant that he is starting in a front 3, explain he will get more game time and ask him to do a job for the team, for me I would play Wood/him/Dallas up front on Tuesday with cook most forward of midfield 3, Murphy in and keep Adeyemi to cover back 4 and ask both Taylor/Berardi to push on when we can.

From Sat Wood had no support really so we need to push people on another 10-15 yards up the pitch.

I think for away games you can drop Ant to the bench sometimes no probs to be more solid but he deserves to start tomorrow.

I don't mind waiting for the wiz to get up to speed either that shows a bit of management nous for me, so different to last few years.

you cannot drop Adeyemi and Berardi The only thing left is to play a 4-5-3 formation. I cannot see any other way and it would give us the edge

We would surely win with a 4 5 3 as we would have 13 players on pitch, if we can get away with it then bring it on.

Dropping Adeyemi is madness. The way to accommodate 442 is drop Mowatt and play Antenucci as a withdrawn striker. He does damage when you play him in the hole between midfield and striker. Bench byram when botox fully fit and you have your team. Murphy Bellusci Erwin Byram Mowatt Turnbull and Phillips waiting in wings. Not a bad bench.

I know I shouldn't compare with prem but I saw two games at the weekend and even Everton were attacking ( I couldn't believe boring old Everton attacking ). The thing is, is the speed at which they all attack at that level. It's either a quick telling pass through the middle or two to three quick passes. I know most teams in the champ are similar to us but the way out is not only quick wingers but having a midfield that all know each others play well and that can all pass accurately and quickly. We are too slow from back to front and at the moment the ball forward is trying to pick out wood all the time. How hard is that to defend?

{Ed001's Note - you never watched Liverpool v Man Utd did you? If those two teams had played any slower it would have been in reverse! I was having trouble staying awake during the first half.}
