What does the word 'imminent' mean anyone?, I obviously have had it wrong all these years.....

Believable18 Unbelievable1

12 months plus

Agree3 Disagree0

It means likely to occur at any moment, except when applied to Leeds.

What's that saying you can't fool all of the people all of the time Has the whole GHF thing been a massive and superbly inventive charade cooked up by Bates to get others interested? The reason why the ain't gone through IMO is there never was a deal. At an auction it needs one bidder to start the bidding to make others interested. Now siddenly we have two new buyers emerge has Bates planned this all along? Think about it GHF books stated they had limited cash reserves so where did this supposed 2m plus come from was it bates own money? His bet his stake a sprat to catch a mackerel. If GHF were serious buyers this deal would have been concluded in September at the latest. They hand around for 7 months Bates is the only one supposedly to see their offer the only one to say he had every confidence in their ability to invest. If I'm right bates is a genius who has fooled the media his board his manager and players and worst off al us the fans.

Believable2 Unbelievable7

Here comes another boring theorist. Get a life mate GFH will be our new owners very soon.

Heard Grayson today on t sport.he loves Leeds ,he really wanted to do well so badly.he lost howson 24 hrs after been told he would not be sold.then he was promised 2 last min signings before deadline fin but they never came .had numerous broken promises.and don't forget when he was sacked in feb we were 3 points off play offs.
Could hear in his voice where he really wanted to be,but also now had a chairman who supported him.
Not harping on about past managers,my point is nothing's changed, apart from our league position is a lot worse and our football is worse.
Warnock is walking a tightrope now..shrew leeds

Believable11 Unbelievable1

I would have Simon back any day if/when bates leaves. He is passionate about Leeds and the only thing that annoyed me about Simon was the fitness training and boring interviews. So maybe he wouldn't be the best option

In fairness to GFH if you were buying something from Uncle Ken wouldn't you look it up and down, inside out, front and back , and then do the same again about 100 times. I have to say that initially I thought the TO was a load of Man Utd. Now I believe it will happen. It will probably be too late to give us a decent chance this year. But 2013/14 will see us home to where we belong. MOT forever

if i was gonna spend 40+ mil on something i would want to check things out and make sure things were as they seem especially if it was bates i was buying from. if it had been just 1 guy buying from bates it probably wouldnt of taken as long ,but with it been a consortium they have to discuss everything between themselves which will take extra time .they are probably just working out what date is best to announce the takeover which i think it will be announced at the crystal palace game next Saturday at home .i hope its soon so we can dream again. M.O.T

Agree1 Disagree1

Don't post anything positive mate you'll upset all the drearies we have as fans.

Agree2 Disagree0

I'm sorry, but if you're loaded enough that you've got 40 mil to spend, you'd spend a bit of extra cash to hire people who can see things like this happen in a matter of weeks. Not Months.

I think no news is good news regarding take over,I don't want gfh I would rather the exclusivity clause run out and then negotiate a deal with these Saudi Arabian chaps,as opposed to this American, cos any mate of Bates is no friend of us leeds fans, and it sounds like this American is a Bates fan.

Believable5 Unbelievable3

You know nothing of the Saudi's so stop talking carp ffs.

Agree0 Disagree0

You should work for The Financial Times with that pedigree of business knowledge. We know nothing of these other parties, their intentions, level of interest... GFH have made a bid, it has been accepted and the finer details are being sorted (apparently now with the football league). We dont know much of any potential investors or indeed our current owner but GFH have put in a lot of time and apparently money so at least we know they are serious.

ITS all off......................................
there is a race on to step into gfh boots.
another period of due dilligence, but not as long as gfh,as they used this for delay tactics.

A TAKEOVER NEEDS TO HAPPEN
DONT WANT BATES TO STAY

Bring back the young players and build from them.We all know we will take a couple of knocks, but cant be any worse than we are at the moment.

Believable6 Unbelievable0

Plus the fact there is meant to be 3 different people intrested iin buying us (not sure how true that is) but i meann c'monnnnn surely you can see it needs to be done now! i think that gfh have given leeds some money already thats why its taking so long cause they have dished out some money to buy them some time. makes me sick.

please correct me if i'm wrong but hasn't proof of funds already provided ? {Ed013's Note - If they didn't have the funds then Bates wouldn't deal with them}

It isn't Bates' fault (for once) GFH have took 4 month to get 50m together

Believable7 Unbelievable3

All we want two know is when will it happen the sooner the better

It will be announce a week on Saturday at Elland road against Crystal palace probably but we will know takeover is complete before then if we start to sign players on loan of a good standard

There is no TO ..... the gates at ER are now below 20,000 and will keep falling, the future doesn't look too good for us all.

I can't believe after 6 months that KB has only just found out that they have no money .. this has all been one big facade.

I for one are staying away .,.. get the club back in order and invest in our team ken .. if you can't be bothered , then why should we.

Read today's Guardian - GFH Capital are in serious financial difficulties. That probably explains why it's been dragging on for so long.

Agree1 Disagree1

14 Nov 2012 22:39:18
Debts of 300 mill assets of 833 mill thats the sort of financial trouble l could do with

Agree1 Disagree1

No liquidity. The assets are nominal valuations of investments they own. The theoretical valuation of assets is meaningless. There is no point saying your house is worth 600k because the estate agent said so if no one is prepared to pay more than 300k for it.

GFH Capital have run out of cash and, by their own admission, are having to offload those assets to meet their commitments. Sounds familiar? If not think back to Ridsdale. Our squad was valued at 150m+ but was sold off at a fraction of its 'value' to pay debts off. That's exactly where GFH is right now.

wish people would stop going on about bates! there is going to be no takeover so like it or lump it, just keeps fans off his back is the reason we keep hearing about a takeover, also austin wont be a big loss been poor in last 6 games, tonge and green in middle MOT

the only thing that comes out of er is talk because iot cost nothing

Believable8 Unbelievable0

Talk is cheap, but then so is everything else at ER, all we have been for 7 year is personal piggy bank fro Ken - DHL

Agree7 Disagree2

"So is everything at Elland road" - guessing you have not bought a match day programme, or ticket, or car parking spot, or burger, or pint recently because last time I checked they where anything but cheap lol.... The only thing that is cheap is the performances....b

Agree4 Disagree1

Everything at Elland Road is cheap, except the prices we're forced to pay them!

Agree2 Disagree1

Lets not forget without Bates coming in 7 years ago we would have gone under and now playing the Blue Square league as FC Leeds City !
I for one don't begrudge him making a profit for saving our club, but I do think it is time he capitalises on it and pass to someone who has money to invest
Rob MOT

Agree2 Disagree7

Everything cheap at ER! Have you bought a ticket, programme, pint, pie, souviner need I go on? Nothing cheap at ER except the way fans are treated.

God help you if you think Bates saved us.

Agree2 Disagree3

Ticket prices are ok and u dont have to buy a programme or something from the club shop. a pint defo

Agree0 Disagree3

He did not save our club. That's just Bates's propaganda. He put the club into administration then reacquired it for nothing. There were other offers which might well have been better long term offers.

Warnock just made a statement saying, 'we are still in the race for promotion', im not being funny, does this ring any bells from last year? keeping saying, we will make a push. never happens, ive seen enough of warnock. and ive spent enough of my money, turning up to games and watch us play crap. long ball football. until bates is out and until we get a decent squad together im not spending £30 on a ticket. haters will hate but i am stating the obvious.

JOE MOT!

Believable11 Unbelievable1

I'm behind you on the Bates front mate, I'm not wasting £30 ticket money and £70 odd quite travel/food costs on putting a few quid in his back pocket.....

I'll reserve judgement on Warnock till after xmas....

Agree4 Disagree3

If they wont invest then why should we invest in kens pension fund .. i'm also staying away until hes gone and im not alone .. the gates were below 20k last home game and they keep falling

My line up against millwall.players playing pretty much in there proper positions.
agree or disagree.
kenny
byram lees peltier drury

green norris tonge hall

becchio diouf

Believable13 Unbelievable1

Drop kenny he was useless against Watford

Agree8 Disagree2

I believe this is our strongest team without; Austin, Pearce, and McCormack... However from a Warnock interview I read this week I think Druary is also injured.

White has been shocking recently, having his position constantly changed match to match and on the training ground not helping his development is my opinion.

So it's a case of Pugh at Left Back for me, not ideal, but no choice I guess.

Hopefully Druary will get a good run of health soon, because he's by far our best Left Back.

LUFC-Bob

Agree2 Disagree1

I would be inclined to give Kisnorbo a start at centre-back instead of Lees and Varney instead of Becchio- we still look far better playing the ball to feet rather than long ball looking for Becchio. Can anybody shed any light on a few persons who seem to be slagging Peltier off and the reasons why. Surely can't be for football reasons as he is as played as well as anyone else out there?

Agree2 Disagree7

Kenny has been our best player this season week in / week out and no chance at all with the first 4 Watford goals. I just want to see players in their natural positions. Also get Poleon back - no sunstitute for pace.

Agree1 Disagree4

Peltier makes way too many mistakes our best back 4 is byram ,lees, pearce ,drury
our best midfield is varney ,austin, tonge, pugh but austin out so would use norris
would like to see hall play a bigger part on sunday maybe he will be our best choice for left mid

best strikers

becchio , diouf as mccormack is out but when he returns i would look into a different formation

Agree1 Disagree6

Pugh?you having a laugh...our worst buy for 5 seasons considering what we paid for him!

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Nov 2012 09:32:13
Why is everyone obsessed with previous managers? get Graham in, get McCallister in, get Gray in etc.
Why not try for the young/untested? (worked with Di Canio at Swindon, Poyet at Brighton etc) Bring the one person who can defend! RADEBE lol (i miay be living in fairytail land here but what the heck)

Believable3 Unbelievable2

I agree. Someone like Di Canio would be a great addition. No point saying get Radebe back, he has said he has no desire to go into management

Crmd

Agree1 Disagree0

To the last poster who says " no point getting radebe back, he says he has no interest in management".....please do some research before making nonsense up like that....find out what his job is now, I know , but I want you to research that yourself.

Come on guys. There will be no takeover, no new money, no new players of any quality, no manager when NW goes. Still, on the bright side we will have the best ground in League 1 again! It's getting dark at Elland Road.

Believable11 Unbelievable5

Still there's plenty of light between your ears.

14 Nov 2012 08:50:26
havent really commented on takeover before as until it happens its all specualtion when and if.
but i to have read the guardian this morning and it is a little worrying about gfh finances.
this isnt rumour its a fact.
obviously i know nothing but just wondering whether gfh are looking to take another type of peter ridsdale punt.
as next season is the biggest ever tv premier money deal if we went up it would give us about 150 million.so paying 42 mill plus few signings then going up would be a great piece of business for them.
what happens if we get there i dont know but they would be millions in profit.
i just wondered if they are stalling as our league position would suggest going up is a dream.can they afford another season in the championship?
as i said i know nothing just my mind working overtime....shrew leeds

Article in guardian on GFH worrying finances. I'm unsure if they pass that fit and proper person test. Their moral character not in question but their financial common sense and abilities are immediately in question. That won't help them past the test. I think we will see the American step in.

Watford game is the last straw for me with Warnock.

We have 8 wins in 30 league games I'm sorry but that record can't be defended regardless of injuries, suspensions or no funds for players considering coming into a team which was 7th in Championship and only one point of the play-offs.

I would love to see Alan Curbishley appointed in the morning is a crying shame the man hasn't managed a club for the last 4 years. He can get a quality team together on a shoe string as he's already proven.

Curbishley is no way a yes man unlike Warnock despite for some reason people thinking Warnock is his own man. Every club Warnock has been with he just says what the fans of that club want to hear e.g the fans are the best in the world, the players have a bond like no other and the usual the world and it's wife is against them.

I appreciate a lot of people will still back Warnock which by all means do but can anyone just clarify to me what improvements has Warnock brought to us with relevant points supporting the arguement?
