After supporting Leeds for a good 10 years, every year I grow more and more belief in our team. Gone are the days of becchio, Beckford, McCormack, but how do we not know that roofe, sacko, antonsson aren't among the list of great goal scorers in that time. I reckon that this year we have a great chance of a good finish in the league, down to the fact that GM is a confident, young lad, with a point to prove in the future of English football! Did anybody see Sacko's goal yesterday, Leeds began to play great football, I'll leave that to you as the GM effect.

agree this euro's showed how a good manager can achieve more than a good team, I think we have a very good manager and looks like some decent players. I hope and think MC will not be giving any season ticket holders discount this year.

Agree above
So do people think we will be prem bound if we pick up Henry and the limb?
Wat about a playmaker ala mcal?
Was there a best goal of euro 16 announced anybody?
Felt bit sorry for France. Played there worst game in final
And
How did Rinaldo get in team of tournament and not bale?

Cause when it came down to it Ronaldo did Bale when they went head to head . Bale isn't even the best Welsh player, Ramsay is .

Spot on Lancaster. Ramsey had a fabulous tournament and was my player of the whole competition. Such a shame he missed semi.

Missed Ramsay in final but bale 10 times better than Rinaldo at euro. I'm not usually a bale fan. Normally a Rinaldo fan. But fairs fair. Think the injury and tears helped.

Samo, I think you need to change the term, "a good ten years" to "a fairly dire ten years" 😉.

Trouble is I'm so old I can't remember them any more! 😁.

I'm hoping that there are some secret transfers happening behind the scenes as I am very concerned about our defence! We have
Got rid of both bel and wooton, who both were very shaky, but we have only brought in one other defender! Hope they haven't neglected that as we only have Liam and sol left!,

Don't think monk will just forget to buy defender.

Didn't say he'd forget, said hope they don't neglect the defence and focus too much on trying to up the goals.

Does anyone know why the clown that is Noel Whelan is allowed to always write very negative stuff about us in the YEP?

I mean this guy played 48 times for us scoring 7 goals and then went on to be even more Mr Average player with career of 319 with 60 goals as a forward.

his latest effort is just saying all the buys are rubbish and we should spend 5-6 m on this player. hmmn yeah right Noel as we can afford to spend that on one player. NOT.

I don't get why this chump is always so down on Leeds, always looking at the down side of any situation and more to the point why is he writing about Leeds if he seems so negative about our club all the time, no balance in his efforts at all.

He should be writing about Coventry (130 games) or Boston then I would not have to read it.

Can we not form a protest group time to go Noel (well OK it don't rhyme like Massimo but best I could do at work) .

It's him or Ormsby. As long as they don't refer to him as a Leeds legend.

It don't really matter. Everyone know he is a fruitcake.

Brendan Ormsby. Leeds legend in my book. Never forget qpr fa cup last 16. Last few minutes. Best 90 ever in my memory.

Yep one of the best atmosphere's ever at ER that day unforgetable, gates ripped open thousands in for nothing give me an Ormsby at centre back anyday over the likes of Bamba.

Would love to hear Rico Henry deal done soon imo we really should be snapping this guy up as Taylor will be gone before start of season we should be making Henry signing top of the agenda.

Agree, you just know Talyor is going to go so must our management team so you would hope they are planning for that.

Still need a experienced CH, dominant midfielder type and if I'm being greedy another wing/ creative attacking type player depending on what systems Monk is going to play re his plan A and plan B ( I think he will have a plan B unlike some of our last managers, maybe even plan c as well) .

One area I would put a lot of training into is dead ball situations as we were pants last year on these and they are so important in the modern game, just hope as a modern up to date coach El Monko will concentrate on this.

Your right DG we were brutal at set pieces and they say you should not concede from a set piece but its the only time you can set everyone exactly where you want them.

Does anyone else think that the Douke's solid performance (according to reports) last night could be the start of a bit consistency in the coming season?
He's always shown flashes of what he can do and I hope GM can get the best out of him and make him more consistent.

Doukara is an enigma wrapped in a riddle. Against Derby for a half (I think) he looked a world beater and in other games who looks like he could not beat an egg. I am all for giving players second chances but Doukara and Murphy are on their fifth or sixth chance. Could their wages be used on players who would have a greater impact this season? Are they the quality required in a squad to challenge for the playoffs?

Thats a bit unfair Notts - beating an egg can be tricky y'know.

Agree thought Doukara would be one of the first out of the door. Murphy is our longest serving player seeing out all managers under Cellino, but has never really moved on. Sell now and let's buy one decent midfielder.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Jul 2016 15:27:20
Doukara not the player to take us back to premier league and as Notts says wages would be better spent in someone else.

Agree1 Disagree0

14 Jul 2016 17:17:34
Doukara is poor for the championship we should of got rid when he got his ban another one who will never be prolific and his shooting ability is quite poor for a professional.

Well I know this a bit late but here is my opinions about the new signings we made on that mental Thursday last week. So first off Rob Green I think is a quality signing that experience at the back and on the training pitch will IMO definitely help the squad and even though I heard that his form dipped at qpr and he could not get in the side he is IMO a good keeper at this level even though he is knocking on. And as they say form is temporary class is permanent (Let's just forget about the slip up he had for England. ) And even though I am sad to see Silvestri fall so far and it looks like he is going he will be IMO a better keeper than Silvestri. (Also Green only a couple of years ago looked like a good prem keeper when Qpr where there. ) Onto the young lad from Swansea on loan Matt Grimes don't know much about him but has played for England U21's so seems to have potential and will hopefully be a decent signing he is also one of Monk's lads so hopefully Monk can get the best out of him. Then Finally we signed Kemar Roofe this is a signing in the long term will be fantastic for us because to me this lad just seems to have something special about him and I think will go far and I think he has the potential to be prem quality. But in the short term this a big gamble if we expect this lad to be a 20 goal scorer for us IMO this season if we play upfront I think he will struggle because the step up in quality in central defenders is a big one and they will be a lot of pressure on him to score tons of goals which I don't if he can deliver. On the Wing IMO would be better for him they would be less pressure to score a lot of goals and I he is more used to that position I believe because he played for Oxford for most of last season there. I personally think as a striker he would be ok at best and he would get 5-10 goals but I think on the wing he would be decent for us this season but even if he doesn't have the best season I think he is a gem and will be fantastic for us in the future. (Also I hope I am wrong about Roofe not good enough to score 20 goals and I hope he scores 30 and shuts me up! ) As for today with the Friendly win I would of liked it to be 3 or 4 nil but at the end of the day we got the win and a good dominant performance out of it so I'll take it. Also Good to see goals from Doukara and Sako because if I am honest I was not confident about him being a good signing and I know it is friendly against an average at best side but still it is still good for him and same for the Douk I was a little worried he would and to be honest still could fall out of contention so that's good for him. Also Roofe had a good performance by all accounts so that's good as well. So then guys I am feeling optimistic about the direction of the club right now I just think we need a couple of quality signings before we are a playoff quality side and I am fully optimistic about the new season because right now I am decently optimistic and think we are outside playoff side. Looking forward to the new season and first game at Qpr on Sky already thinking of a chant when Roofe scores a screamer from thirty yards out and proves me wrong. Who Rocketed it in from Thrity yards out? ROOFE! ROOFE! ROOFE! ROOFE! ROOFE! I know that was nearly as bad as Edgar Cani loan singing but I bet you guys think of miles better chant's than that. Marching on with Monk and co. MOT!
