Something i have been worried about is new signings joining us during pre season, how can we be sure they are up to scratch fitness wise? fortunately this doesn't seem to be a worry for Rodolph Austin (if he does join us lol)

Believable3 Unbelievable3

I doubt we need to worry about that. Billy barnyard is still trainning with us, so all the players we are looking at, will be doin the same thing with there clubs. You still keep fit in case it falls through.
mot4life

Agree5 Disagree1

How many Thomas Brolins are we signing then....?

.... I think we can rely on Warnock to know the type of player he is after to do a job, I doubt if any one of the players he gets in will be found to be wanting....

Agree3 Disagree0

To mot4life, how can you sign off your response with that name while slagging one of our players off. Your records stuck, leave Paynter alone and get behind all the lads. DP

I'll defend the post about Paynter even though it wasn't me. Being a fan doesn't mean you don't have the right to criticise. When a player's played rubbish we have a right to say what we think, especially when we're paying the 5th highest ticket price in the country.

Agree2 Disagree0

Billy barnyard is that you again, trying to pretend your a leeds fan. It's almost as bad as your impression of a striker.
mot4life

Agree1 Disagree0

"leave Paynter alone and get behind all the lads"

Whoah, hang on a minute! ALL truye Leeds United supporters will ALWAYS get behind the REAL Leeds players, but when we pay good money to watch some of the crap that turned up on the pitch last season (or rather DIDN'T turn up!) then I think we have a right to critise those that don't perform. Paynter was given several chances and did very little. He should be one of the first out of the door - not the likes of McCormack and Clayton?

We cannot afford to have 'dead wood' on our books any longer, we need players who will give their all for Leeds United AND for us supporters who pay their wages?

Just from rumours and websites, I can see us signing these players in the next two weeks:
RB:Peltier
CB(SUB):Cranie
CDM:Austin
CAM:Buzsacky/Norris
LAM:Varney
LAM(SUB): T.Smith/Diouf
ST:Campbell
ST(SUB):Gray

Meaning...
Kenny
Peltier Lees Pearce Drury
Austin Green
Snodgrass Buzsacky/Norris Varney
Becchio/DJ Campbell

Bench:
Cranie
Thompson
SUB Midfielder
T.Smith or Diouf
Gray

Any more news on Austin or Peltier Ed??
Or other responses? for other transfers...?! {Ed013's Note - Austin is being monitored as they want him to play until the end of July so they can bring in a replacement in and Peltier news has dried up}

Believable0 Unbelievable1

I think you've missed a really good player off that list. The one and only Davide Somma. If he comes back in the same form he showed us, he will rip a new ar=e hole in this league.
mot4life

According to a Leicestershire paper he is just thrashing out the details.

Come on lads lets get the bandwagon goin for Buzsacky. He could just be the signing that takes the pressure off snoddy on the wing, as you carn't mark to people with alot of skill. I think we have a good chance of getting him, with Warnock now controling the ship.
MARCHING ON TOGEATHER!!
mot4life

Believable5 Unbelievable0

I think there is a chance he could come, I'm sure he wants first team football and he can get that at Leeds, the midfield needs strengthening, along with Austin it would certainly add much needed strength, if we want to get out of this league then we need these sort of players atleast

Agree3 Disagree0

14 Jul 2012 14:51:19
I would say these Billionaire owners are just a pipe dream...why else would we be buying average players on free's and offering 250k for players....
Snoddy and McCormack will be funding the next new players.

Believable6 Unbelievable6

Thats because until this takeover is complete, Warnock has to build a squad. You carn't just sit around until this happens, with desent players floating around. We will see the proper investment in the squad January.
I do think the next new owners have give a Warnock some good will money to play with, until things are finalised.
If we get in the players mentioned on here, we will have a good anothe squad to push on.

I think we need strikers, Becchio overated,
Mc Cormack on the wayout, and Somma is
only Div 1 standard.MOT.

Believable3 Unbelievable8

Did you see Somma's run in first season back in championship? top class

Agree7 Disagree3

Somma is twice the player Maccormack is. The lad scored 12 goals of the bench in first run in team, if he hadn't of got injured, i doubt maccormack would of got the chance he did.
As long as he comes back the same player, you will be saying Maccormack who?
mot4life

Agree8 Disagree2

Somma's been injured a long time?

Agree5 Disagree2

You dont know what you're on about

Agree2 Disagree2

Hi, I must have been watching the wrong Becchio and Somma all along.
Luciano overated? That would be why he has scored the goals he has, and Davide Div 1 standard? Well, I for one would take more like him.

Here is a challenge for you, if they both are as bad as you make out, go to ER have a trial, and I will donate £10 to the charity of your choice for every goal you score more than either of them next season.

I do not normally swear, but take the L out of clock, and that is what you are (imo).

tRip

Agree4 Disagree1

I would sell Becchio.

Agree4 Disagree6

Becchio overated dont make me laugh

Agree6 Disagree1

Are ye actually serious about Somma he's barely League 2 on his best day and if he's one of our main strikers then we're gonna be in serious trouble this season

Agree4 Disagree4

Sommas class....Best finisher in the club. Just need him back to full match fitness. Possibble Premier lge quality!

Agree6 Disagree4

To those saying or implying that Somma is gonna storm it next season, come on he'll be behind on match fitness and match practice. He'll be on the sidelines just like he was when he was 100 % fit. Sorry about that just bein realistic. Great finisher but theres more to it than that, especially in NW's side.

NickW, MOT

Agree4 Disagree2

Only any good of the bench, NOT 90 MIN PLAYER!
KEZZA

Agree2 Disagree1

Warnock wanted a player who can impact a match when he comes off the bench like adam le fondre and i think that he said that it he wanted mccormack to be that player but with him looking likely to be on his way out i think somma is the perfect impact player but i must admit he need to be back to full match fitness but i am looking forward to him returning what do you think ed. MOT
A leeds fan

Agree5 Disagree0

Alot of players have come back and played there best football. True some have come back and not looked the same player. We have one thing on his side he's still at a ok age to repair himself. I bet the ones that are slatting him are the ones that said Billy Barnyard was goin to fire us to glory. Need i remind how that turned out.
IN SOMMA WE TRUST!!

If Simon Grayson is a massive Leeds fan, the least he can do is take all the drivel thats clogging up our squad that he bought to his Huddersfield Revolution (bless)

Believable6 Unbelievable1

You mean the 'drivel' he was forced to sign due to Bates transfer/wage policy

Agree4 Disagree4

Even if Bates had a gun to his head, he shouldn t have signed Rachubka.

Agree6 Disagree1

If there that good why doesn't he come in for them or the ones that have been released, that don't need a transfer.

as I was looking up Rodolph Austin, I noticed another player from SK Brann, and his name was Kim Ojo. I know that on youtube you can make an average player look like a brilliant player, but when I saw a video of him, I thought that he looked like a younger quicker Becchio. he is 23, 6ft3 and has scored 20 goals in 42 games for SK Brann. worth a look up. Is it just me that thinks the likes of rogers and somma could come good next year and develop into top players??

Believable10 Unbelievable1

Agree it will be like a couple of new signings, soma scoring ratio is 2nd to none and Rogers so quick!

Agree7 Disagree1

'It's like having a new signing' - every chairman or manager's excuse for a lack of investment. And now it looks like there's a bidding war for Ross McCormack with Wolves and Blackpool offering around the 2.5m mark, are we happy to replace him with Varney, a striker who's best season ever brought 9 goals and who could only manage an average of 8 playing for non-league Quorn?

Agree1 Disagree5

He has also scored 5 goals in the Barclays Premier League playing on the left wing. And how many has Ross scored in the prem? Furthermore Mccormack only scored 4 in 36 games in his last two years at Cardiff. So why don't you give the lad a chance before we start slating him, i for one think alot of people will be eating their own words what come may.

TeejLUFC

Agree3 Disagree1

Are u drunk!! both not good enough

Agree1 Disagree4

I'll give everyone a chance and I expect I'll be singing his name come August - just think that the signings so far seem disappointing, Pearce excepted.

I'm entitled to express that view, by the way.

Agree0 Disagree2

Think we should be wary of building Somma up - players are not always the same after an injury - remember Kisnorbo

Agree3 Disagree1

2.5M for McCormack? Seriously? We should snap their hands off.
Busy little player but no real class and a little short of pace for a top class striker. One good season and most of those stats were served up on a plate by Snoddy.
The gaffer doesn t think mccormack would
be a main starter next year. Maybe doesn t fit into his style of play or plans. Am inclined to agree and if we can get such decent money for him that sounds like great business.
Over the next couple of weeks I d be surprised if we didn t have 3 or 4 very good players joining us. Ruddy Austin looks class and hard as nails. Fingers crossed on that one.
Future looks bright.
Get sum blud on yer boots.

Agree4 Disagree0

Agree about the pace but I think you're wrong about his class. McCormack has the best first touch in the squad, two feet, good in the air for a small man, an eye for goal and he's a very smart passer of the ball.

I do think he could be exposed in the premiership because of his lack of pace but if he plays like last season he'll be one of the best players in our division wherever he ends up.

If he plays like last season then 2.5 million would seems about right to me - if he plays like the season before then 2.5 pence would be nearer the mark.

Agree2 Disagree0

Whoever buys him will have to wait a season to see any benefit from him. People will be eating there words if Somma comes back the same player he was before his injury. Maccormack for me is far to lazy and thinks he's better than what he is.

The wet spam blog site which has been posting inciting articles about Leeds United and other teams seems to have gone very quiet, is it just wishfull thinking, or do you think my complaint to the site providers has finally ended an ongoing aggravation?

If so I heartily apologise to all fellow supporters who enjoyed pointing out just what a **** he is.....

If it starts up again, I hope you will all do the same, rather than make any cooments on his site....

Why is no team in the prem after Austin? For warnock to break silence he is either confident of getting him or is trying to show him Leeds fans reaction to the possibility of him signing for Leeds.

Believable5 Unbelievable0

Think he knows if he wants him he can get him
I also think I will not bo over long befor we see him in a white shirt

Agree3 Disagree0

Warnock can turn the most average player into wine. Don't forget all his promotions have come at very little cost. So people stop spitting your dummys out over cost of players. If we need a good striker, then i feel thats when we will see a half desent transfer.
