cant see us winning tomorrow night, if we do some how manage to spurs will rip us to pieces in current form... warnock gone after tomorrow or weekend? he seems confident he is not getting sacked as he told bbc radio leeds he thinks he doing a great job and dosnt feel he has to worry about his possition!? surley this poor rubbish we have seen of late will not be allowed to continue?

I'm pretty sure gfh are reviewing warnock position cus as of lately the money isn't being spent and that's because they may sack him and don't want to risk the money. I'm almost sure that GFH haven't bought leeds to just sign tonge and loans. There will be some money and it'll probably only be spent when warnocks positions is secure.

How come every woman who lives within 3 miles of me is called rebecca and is looking for love?

All Rebeccas must be hot to trott, I'm off to start a local Milk Round...

In fact, thinking about it, there all a bit past their best, knocking on a bit and would struggle to run...

Right up your street Neil, get your scouting team off to the bottom of my road and sign her up!!

I notice Brighton have the highest average attendance in the championship with just over 25000, who would have thought Brighton bigger club than leeds utd.

Believable7 Unbelievable3

Embarrassing.

Agree8 Disagree2

It's quite silly, even childish, to take this season's attendances and then make the huge leap to conclude Brighton are a bigger club. Absolute nonsense.

Leeds United are, and always will be, a huge club. Once we start heading in the right direction again all the "loyal and life-long" fans will be back - no matter what a ticket costs.

Agree4 Disagree3

Its just their fans aren't as fickle as some of ours

Agree6 Disagree0

Your right their fans aren't fickle at all and they are all very close!

Agree0 Disagree0

Loyal my A*** 11000 for birmingham loyal fans don't disappear simply because the team are playing bad. Fair enough money troubles or work etc interfering but if recent times has taught me anything its that 50% of leeds fans arent as great as i thought they was when i first starting coming to games all those years ago.

Agree1 Disagree3

Get Bates out 100% young manager that plays the right way inline ticket prices and they will return. I would rather spend my money on my kids than throw it away to watch the cr*p at the moment.

I think that GFH aren't fully behind Warnock so there not prepared to back him properly in Jan & I reckon we'll be relying on loans till the end of the season then they can assess Warnock and the season & look for other managerial options or give him a new contract

Not a rumour but fact: Kim Ojo signed for Genk, so we can all forget about him! Transfer fee 1 mill euro! Seems well over our budget sadly?

Sadly I don't think Neil was ever after him but I totally agree with you mate he would've been an excellent signing

14 Jan 2013 21:46:10
What I don't understand is why many of Warnocks signings are players that can play well with the ball at their feet and can pick a good pass. Players like Austin, Diouf, Barkley even Tonge are much better with the ball at their feet than in the air. We don't have a bad championship team, yes we have our weak links like Peltier but with a couple more first team quality additions we could challenge for the play offs for sure. But we are only going to be up there come the end of the season IF we change our style of play. We have some good passers in midfield (which aren't used enough) and a prolific finisher in Becchio (if he stays with us). For god sake Warock can you not see your style of play isn't working we didn't register a shot on target against Bansley. It's time for change, whether it be our style of play (and some players) our a change in management. If we lose to Birmingham by playing long ball (regardless of it being FA Cup), Warnock Must Go. Is there really any serious chance gradel could come back.i know nothing apart from rumours on here.does anyone know something I've missed.would love him back..shrew leeds

Believable3 Unbelievable2

NEGATIVE POINTS: Do not get your hopes up. Nothing between now and Jan 31st is going to take us by surprise. No Gradel, No Beckford, no icing on the cake, (jelly more like) nothing that could instill in us the hope that we may this year reach the promised land. It won't happen, Warnock as much as I like him, ( i say what i like, and i bloddy well like what I say) hasn't signed the players that can win us promotion, GFH.C. don't want to invest too much in a Manager who will be gone in 5 months. (Even though they backed him)( don't believe it by the way, managers are always the first to go, dosent matter who they are, They will be one or two signings but nothing to blow us away or make all the other teams say wow we are worried now..., such is life eh,

POSITIVE POINTS: we will always follow LUFC, because its our team, it's rubbish at the moment, but it will get better, by the time it's 2019 our century year I have no doubt we will be a major major force in Europe again. Fans need to turn up week in week out, 40000 leeds fans are louder than 100000 wembley fans, that would scare any team into defeat, just go there, sing the songs, shout all the players names, will that team to win and they will, and when they do we win, because we are in this together my brothers, up in arms no one can play in front of upset leeds fans, but believe me when I say go to Elland road fill that ground, sing as loud as you can, and we will be promoted before you know it...

MARCHING ON TOGETHER WERE GONNA SEE YOU WIN...

Basic facts for making a profit for GFH capital,
if they spent £52 million on the club, so spend around £10 million on players that are lower class prem and top class championship that is more than capable of gaining promotion that's £62 million then when we get to prem spend about another £10 million which is £72 million then even if we go up through play-offs that's still £90 million + which is a profit of £28 million pounds simple isnt it?

Believable4 Unbelievable2

Not really, it's 18 million plus big risk.

Agree4 Disagree0

If we had the money to spend it would be easy.but i don't think we got a pot to p#ss in myself that's why gfh arnt saying anything or getting rid of neil as we can't afford to pay him off or pay compensation to another club to have another manager . the bulldog

Only 2 signings this window but least they have been good ones. Would love to see Wells come to Leeds, ready made no.9 for us, can see him going elsewhere though sadly. Been linked with a young Wycombe defender whch would be good for us. Praying we get Max Gradel back, or another winger, Need to fill the whole Snoddy left in the summer, maybe Boyd? I think Gudetti from Man City would be perfect replacement for Becchio if he goes, wges will probably stop tht happening though.

I can't understand why people are getting so excited at the moment and calling for Warnock to be sacked this week. I don't think any manager could get the squad we have into the premier league at the minute whether it was Warnock or Mourinho. The squad isn't good enough at the moment and we're not spending any money to improve it and haven't in the last few years! Give Warnock til the end of the season and see how he gets on. He's contract is up then and he might walk before it any way. If we sack him now we'll probably have to pay compensation which could be used on transfers or wages. I think GFH know that. We're only 5pts off the play offs anyway. I don't like the "football" we play either and I thought he'd improve the defense but its as bad as usual but I'm willing to give him til the end of season. People are saying Faurlin could be on his way too but there isn't a hope in hell he'll join us. Teams in Spain are looking at him. We need to strengthen the defense and midfield. I'd like to see us spend some money but I don't ever want the spending to get us in trouble like Ridsdale did. MOT

Believable3 Unbelievable11

Warnock spent 2m pre-season and his signings have taken us backwards. The football is unwatchable which would just about be tolerable if we were in the top 6, but we're not. He has to go.

Agree14 Disagree2

Can you please tell me how he "spent £2 million" pre-season?

Agree1 Disagree3

Peltier £750,000, Austin £600,000, Kenny £300,000, Ashdown £250,000, Pearce £750,000, Hall £200,000, Norris £250,000, Varney £220,000 And Tonge £350,000, Total Expenditure = £3, 620,000 For me that's money managers like mac grayson etc never got at leeds but did a far greater job than warnock has done he should never have been appointed as he has never been able to work off a shoestring budget in my opinion has been given decent sum of money to spend and he's spent it poorly i think he will go at end of year then gfh will invest warnock should get no more money BrianMOT

Agree2 Disagree0

Original poster : Then what happens if someone takes over now and at the start of April we're still in the same spot or a few places lower? What happens if we sign a few players and they don't work out do we sack him too? Relax people we're not going to get relegated! I'd rather wait til the summer and have a total overhaul of the squad. Get rid of all the deadwood and bring some stability to the squad. January is an awful month to buy in, you end up paying over the odds. Bring some stability and then get promoted, if we get promoted this season we'd come straight back down next season. MOT

Who is going to renew their season ticket when the renewals come out later this month? Owners need to do something to entice us to keep our season tickets. They need to reduce the prices ( not likely as season ticket money already mortaged out). They need to buy players that will make the difference between us staying in mid table ( or lower) or challenging for playoffs at least. They also need to change the manager or the style of football that is being played at the moment because its carp and nobody ( even us diehard fans) deserve to have to pay top dollar and endure that excuse for football

It baffles me that we are playing hoof ball, that is 15 years out of date, what are the board, supporters trust the ones in authority saying to neil, does anyone have a voice. I wouldn't be suprised if Ross Mcormack hands in a transfer request were wasting his talent, week in week out on the bench. He could get into most if not all championship teams. What are they actually doing at training seeing who can boot it the longest, who can keep hold of the ball for the shortest amount of time or are neil and his journeymen pals having a great laugh reminding the Sheffield days 10 years ago. Why don't we have any wingers, only cms we have no pace in the team as a result. Finally why is it every other team has made signings other than is when we stated we wanted to finish all signings at the start of jan it's now the middle and only one loan and one journeyman and one Southend reject

Agree5 Disagree0

Ive had my season ticket since league 1 and if im totally honest i don't mind paying the £520 for where i sit in the kop i don't go out on the lash so elland rd gets me out of the house for the day

Thought the new owners would really invest in talented new players but now starting to get an impression that actually they've don't have the finances to do it.

They shouldn't be any players on anymore than 20k in this league .im sure if we was sat in the top 2 the owners would probably be prepared to pay over the top wages to guarantee prem league footy but we are below the playoffs and there's no guarantee that any over priced players could improve the squad enough in January .

For me, tomorrow night is a big night for NW. It's a good chance to reshuffle the pack and give the likes of Drury, hall etc a chance because lets be honest - something needs to change from the recent starting Xl's that have been playing!

Football is a funny game and a win tomorrow followed by another on Saturday and maybe another addition before saturday and Warnock will have a few of the fans back on side. Agree or disagree but that's how football goes with some supporters.

We haven't played with the same team in consecutive games this year .i think we made something like 6 changes in the last game .if we play the players in the correct positions we will win Birmingham and bristol city .but playing peltier on the left is no good .maybe try him on the right again if he's gonna play move byram to wing move green to cm hall on the left drury lb play Austin cm and mccormack and becchio in attack .probably play ashdown in goal i feel Kenny has been making mistakes even with his distribution . Warnock needs to stop been friends with the players and be there manager instead.

Agree3 Disagree1

Win Tomorrow and on Saturday !
(1) Its a big IF
(2) We are talking Birmingham and Bristiol City - not exactly top teams in the championship at the moment
(3) The underlying fact is that we are still playing dire football and that Warnock is not the man to change this

Agree3 Disagree1

Sorry forgot !
(4) New arrivals - believe it when it happens

Sorry to sound so negative but this is the same rubish we have had to put up with for many years now. Bates has sold but thus far nothing has changed GFH are hardly endearing themselfs to the fans

Warnock has stated that his club cannot compete at the top level of the transfer market.

The only way Leeds can now attract quality players is to have a high profile manager.

Warnock is not a high profile manager and we need someone like Di Matteo who is probably more well know to footballers than the ol' dinosaur we have in charge.

Believable9 Unbelievable4

14 Jan 2013 13:29:25
Why am I reading fans complaining about GFH? Comparing them to Bates, really? What have they done wrong?

They've removed Bates from our eyes and ears for one thing, there's a positive!

They managed to help us bring in Thomas and Tate, we've secured Tonge and Hall, and got Barkley in on loan.

Yeah we missed out on Wood, but simply because we're not going to try and compete with Leicester, that's an easy way to overpay for somebeody and then if it goes wrong we're lumped with hefty wages (see Beckford)

We've also not sold any of our better players, in fact, from what I've read, since Mick Jones touted Becchio and Byrams name around they've made it so that all transfer news will come through the club.

I understand fans fustration at the team, but certainly not the new owners. Get a grip people!

And whilst I'm posting about the team, I don't know why people are complaining about the standard of football at the club, when Warnock came in what were you guys expecting? It wouldn't be an issue if we were winning, the problem we're having is results, if I recall a lot of people weren't happy with Macca and Larry and they both tried to play good football. Results will come with one or two additions, some pace out wide is all we need, then to settle on a starting eleven, simple as, Warnock gets results out of average players, we're not too far off the playoffs, the season ain't done yet!

Believable21 Unbelievable21

I thought Macca was the best manager we've had in years. He played good football, brought in quality players and looked like he had some ambition. In fact I'd welcome him back with open arms.
Warnock on the other hand has no ambition anymore, seems to just be leeching our money for one last retirement fund.

Agree6 Disagree10

I think what you are saying is true come we are only 5 points off play offs that's nothing really is it, if we was 10 or 11 points off then i think it would be over but come on guys lets keep the faith MOT

With reference to Gary McAllister - it amazes me how short some peoples' memories really are!

He will always be a club legend for what he did for us on the pitch. But the fact is we were heading for LEAGUE TWO when he was sacked! Have you also forgot the FA Cup defeat at Histon?

Nothing from gfh?
Do they agree warnock is doing a fantastic job?
There are about 150,000 fans worldwide that reckon he is rubbish and needs sacking,
The players are capable of playing a half decent game of football and get in playoffs.
For some reason they are not performing on a regular basis
And that my friends means bad management
Why us be still our bloody manager
For cryi g out loud sack the bloke! Today!

Believable15 Unbelievable9

And you have checked with all the supposed 150,000 fans have you?

In all likelihood there will be a couple more ins in the transfer window filling our weeker positions and the team will get find its groove.

We have a couple of tough games coming up so don't expect to see a major change straight away. As a result NW will be at Leeds until the summer as there is no point changing manager after the window (see last season). If our final position is encouraging then he may get another season and some real money but if quality does not improve it will be a new manager who gets the money in summer.

I'm fed up of reading/seeing/hearing people talk about Becchio like he's Marco van Basten. Get in the real world!! He is every limited & not good enough & as a whole holding us back!

Warnock has fallen into the trap of trying to build a team around a guy that has no footballing ability whatsoever. His lack of movement, & ability to hold the ball up & bring others into game is stopping us progressing! Dexter Blackstock isn't the answer long term would would be a massive upgrade to Becchio. His goal return wouldn't be as good, but he would make our better players play better because of his good movement, ability to hold up the ball & bring them into the game. He also makes good runs in behind the back four which Becchio NEVER does - this is what we need!

McCormack & Diouf need runners they can pick out & link up with. Becchio is statuesque. Due to his inability to run away from players and make space HE is doesn't give us any other option other than to play 'Hoof Ball' - Simply because be never makes a run!! If someone comes in with any kind of offer he MUST go otherwise we will never move forward.

The sooner fans realise this the better! The blind faith that supporters have in this guy is embarrassing. It strikes me as though 90% of Leeds fans no don't know anything about football!

Believable14 Unbelievable15

Does he score goals? Yes.
Is he loyal to the club? Yes.

Then as far as I'm concerned he is our Van Basten. We all know that if he goes we will not replace him properly with a well known recognised striker.

Becchio is a good player, he's not great but he's very good for us.he puts the ball in the net, without him where would we be this season.
for me its diouf that hasnt been great.he started off well but now he's at the form where you can see that nobody wanted him in the first place...shrew leeds

yes he does score goals, but maybe if he wasnt there and another striker was then the midfield would have more of a chance of linking play up.

he has no movement, no pace and no control, he just know where the net is!

100% agree with first post

It might not be as bad as people think.............

Ant you ever thought beccio never had decent players around him look at chris woods goals if you seen them the goals they came from decent players not all by himself poacher just like crystal palce slipping saha carnt do it him self all season you talk. about movement wat about his volley against middelsbourgh ye he had few better players than we have now gradel snoddgrass howson david somma to play off and now look at the sate of our team he's scored 17 goals this season lucciano lucciano cost less than 8 mil jorden rodes and scores a hell ov a lot more goals

Original poster misses a very big point. Football is a TEAM game and a good team is greater than the sum of its parts. I often refer to Becchio as 'touch of a rhino' because his first touch is amongst the worst I've seen for a pro. Does that matter? No, not really, because his job is to score goals not to give displays in fancy footwork. The stats suggest he's more than good enough in that department. Therefore he's a valuable member of the TEAM.

They are professional footballers if they were told to keep hoofing it doesn't matter they should be able to see it doesn't work and they should start passing the ball I don't think its warnock idea defence is shipping goals they can see that so they aimlessly smashing balls as far away from there goal instead of getting there head up and playing it

I cannot believe that Neil Warnock has come out with this complete pile of rubbish
"Not at all. At this stage of my career, you've just got to do your best.
"If people think that other people can do better, then that's their prerogative, but I think I'm doing a great job here if I'm honest.
Exactly what have you been watching for the last five games and many others before or is your arrogance blinding you

He's sitting out his contract to help his retirement fund now. Leeching our cash that could be spent on a better manager.

Is there anyone out there? The owners, the people that the club belongs to the ones that have shelled out 52 million pounds [say it slowly] have three optionss;
Remain silent saying nothing ~ and look like muppets

Tell us they back Warnock and his glove puppet assistant and have a plan that they are following ~ and look like they at least care about communicating with us

Come out and tell us what we all know [we are going nowhere at present] and share the plan ~ and demonstrate they care about us.

By saying jack schitt they are starting to worry me. TeeCee

They might be quiet, as they are waiting for the right manager too come along

dont get me wrong becchio is a fantastic player but only when he is on top of his game otherwise he is lazy and pretty much non existant out there, i would hate to see him leave but i think it will come down to it, in my eyes there are 7 or 8 i would love to show the door to we need to get quality in, young players with a lot of pace and always give 110%.

I love how one leeds fan speaks for all lol I agree that the long ball game warnock plays is unattractive. I also think that when we have taken the ball down and played it we do it well and attractively. However 5 points behind playoffs and people saying its all doom and gloom when we are 13 above drop. It might be just me but 13 is bigger then 5 so why not wait until these "signings" warnock speaks of come in and see if it changes as if we don't stand by our team and our manager and our players then there is no point calling ourselves fans anymore. What we need is support and less moaning for fans that have got far too used to it over the past seven years

Believable10 Unbelievable11

There was most of the 5,000 fans singing for warnock out on sat, there were many emails and comments on this site and many others stating he should go, not just one. infact you are one of the very few stating he should stay. I will support my team through thick and thin but I will also choose not to back a manager when he is useless, as I pay my money and have the right to do so. I could easily ask the question if you are a leeds fan how can you back warnock when he is doin such a bad job?

Agree7 Disagree3

Everyone has the right to there opinions, however i was at the game on Saturday & was one of the few he did not sing for Warnock to leave or how badly we were playing as i believe that is counter productive especially while the game is going on.....we need to get behind our team to cheer them on through the bad times, we need to aire our frustrations on sites like this & through other channels, definately while the game is going on

Just read in local paper that new owners are planning a meet the fans night at some point. Surely that has to be very soon (before closure of transfer window) so that they can be asked the serious questions that fans are putting on this site. Mainly, do you have the cash to splash, will we be getting a new manager, what are their plans to get this great club into the priemiership, are they in it for the duration etc!
If they can't give good enough answers to these sort of questions then why did they buy the club?

Believable3 Unbelievable0

We only half way thru the window buy some things not adding up for me. They tell us they spend 52 million on buying the club but won't tell us how much they spent buying Michael Tonge and missed out on Wood for financial reasons.

Becchio... a true work horse, gives 110% every game; that's why he is so admired in Leeds. However, and just my opinion, this seasons poor performances have acted as a perfect illusion to lure dumb, lower prem clubs to his signature. A.K.A Wigan, Norwich. He has stood out without a shadow of a doubt, but he has been the best of a bad bunch. We havnt had McCormack and Diouf is not a striker, so Becchio now looks like a £3/4m striker, when in reality he is maybe a £2m. With his contract coming to a close, surely now is time to cash in? There is better out there! I am a huge fan of his, as are most Leeds fans, but you have to agree, he is technically poor, and not the BEST finisher. IMO anyway.
When summer comes round, it's time for a garrage sale. Bye bye dead wood.
Somma
Norris
Green
Varney
White
Drury
Brown
Peltier?
-I do like Peltier (when at RB/CB), and Norris is a good sub. But there is so much better out there at this level!

Believable5 Unbelievable12

Green Somma and Norris are not dead wood. Good championship players.

Exactly m8 championship players...and somma showed promise in league 1 but that's it! Maybe it is time to strip the team bare and start again...New Owners...New Manager(younger and fresher)...New Team...New Start...New Beginnings!.

Agree4 Disagree6

Right I'm all for giving players a chance and all, but I do not understand these people that are so confident Somma is Championship quality. He scored a couple of goals in League 1. Guess what. So did Andy Robinson, Enoch Shewumni and Tresor Kandol. Lets bring them back shal we!? He has NO previous experience at this level yet people can quote 'Somma is a good championship player'... Can you show me how you came to that conclusion please, because what i have seen of him this season is him give the ball away every time he touches it, and score a goal that even Torres could have finished!...

Agree2 Disagree7

Get real though we are in The Championship whether you like it or not, getting in Premier League quality is hard if not impossible with the likes of Leicester and Cardiff offering large wages, not to mention the clubs who have the parachute payments from the premier league, it means financially we can't/won't compete. So good Championship players are i'm afraid what we are left with, we should be buying the best of the Championship instead of so called seasoned Premier League players who can't get in their respective teams, for over inflated prices. There is quality in this division regardless of it supposedly being of poor quality, so get out there and get it would be my message. Burke from Birmingham is a class act at this level, Birmingham are in financial difficulty, why not test the water there? Buckley of Brighton another talented winger, albeit Brighton will not let him go on the cheap but if we have half the funds that are being touted we should be able to afford him, plus I have it on good authority being from Brighton that they don't pay extortianate wages so he won't be expecting a massive increase if one at all. Adomah of Bristol City, granted they are not doing well but he has been the one shining light for them this season, he's pacey, skilful and scores goals, plus with Bristol City being bottom currently he could well be up for the move, and won't cost the earth. A few of other players who will bring the quality we need to consider are Ledesma of Middlesborough, Vydra of Watford, Aluko and Elmohamady of Hull. MOT SussexLeeds

Agree1 Disagree0

To say Somma showed it in league 1 is wrong... his first season playing for Leeds was our 1st season back in the championship and showed more than promise, if he can get fit... which takes time he can be a perfect partner up front for however it is!
