I bet micheal johnson wished he had of joined leeds the club he's ment to support instead he goes leicster just for the money

Believable5 Unbelievable2

You think? Bet he doesn't when he's retired and still has money in the bank.

It amazes me how many people on here can't understand the difference between a football fan and a professional career footballer...

Agree3 Disagree5

Totally agree with the above response - it seems that the average football fan lives on fantasy island. Footballers actually have lives that consider beyond Leeds United - like who will pay me enough money to keep me and my family as comfortable as possible just tlike every other average bloke in the street. Take Alan Smith for example - he has broken his leg and will probably never be able to play to the standard he has played at ever again?! If this is the case and he doesn't go into management or media he will have to find another career outside football - he certainly never grabbed me as Mr personality who would be a football TV pundit!
These fantasy Island people probably think it actually means something when players kiss the badge - Come on wake up and smell the coffee

Agree6 Disagree5

I dont think he rejected us, I think we were too slow in getting him like other targets that come and go. I dont know the ins and outs but we do appear very slow in the transfer market!

MOT

Agree2 Disagree3

Why would Alan smith need to find another career? If he earnt an average of say £20,000 over ten years that is over £10M When he retires! He probably ownes a string of property and earns S**t loads off that too!

Agree4 Disagree4

WOW I think we just hit a raw nerve! Everything is relative - in the circles he moves in and the in grown feeling to do the best for your family. The new career thing is based on his downfall since breaking his leg!

Agree1 Disagree2

Read Robbie Savage's book he gives an insight into how players plan for retirement. He was never on huge money, steady away, bought flash cars and still put away 60% of his money into trusts and bonds.

Agree0 Disagree0

If you are earning anything above 10 grand a week and cannot invest most of it, then you don't deserve any help, there's a lot of people still earning less than that in a year....

Agree0 Disagree0

Alan Shearer doesn't need the money but he has a career - there's more to life than just saying I'll pick up my interest on my investments-for some people!?

Barry ferguson is a player that us fans have be wanting leeds to sign for a few seasons now he would be a shrude signing very rarely gives the ball away and he's also a good talker on the pitch and would be great in and around the dressing room and before anyone says he's too old and past it just look what blackpool did to us at home he had clayton and howson in his back pocket the whole game

Believable6 Unbelievable3

Good player but not exactly one for the future. And I haven't seen anyone better than Clayton in our league this season. I'll be surprised if premiership clubs are not already jostling for position in time for January.

Agree4 Disagree2

Young players could learn from such as him.

Agree4 Disagree0

14 Dec 2011 23:06:37
I would like leeds to make a bid for southend duo kane ferdinand nephew of rio and midfield dynamo ryan hall

Believable6 Unbelievable3

14 Dec 2011 22:14:51
At last!! I have myself some Rose tinted glasses for watching Leeds.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Where did you get those my friend, they available on ebay?

Agree1 Disagree0

Specsavers 2 for 1 £99 everything seems to make sense now

Agree1 Disagree0

Bet you got them from bates the opticians.

Agree0 Disagree0

I need a cheaper option, Ken Bates has took all my spare money this year!

MOT

Agree1 Disagree0

You'll find more people wearing doom tinted glasses on here.

preston have released statement basic saying phil brows job became un tannerble !! lol mot !!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Well Phil could not accept that, If there is one thing a Manager must have control of, it's his own perma-tan and Goaty beard combo!

my leeds team after january transfer window.

mccarthy
connoly, lees, kilgallon, pugh,
snodgrass, smith, howson, clayton, nunez
ross mccormack
promotion winning side

Believable0 Unbelievable7

SMITH IS NEVER COMING BACK

Agree7 Disagree2

Sick of this smith crap, get a grip, were NOT going to take back an injury prone never has been, there is thousands of players out there, dream up a new player for hell sake

Agree7 Disagree0

McCormack cannot lead the line on his own. That's why we brought Keogh in..
Also Nunez can't play left wing as he's all right footed and can only play centrally, that's why Sam has got more game time when Pugh was injured. You clearly know little about the team or football.

Agree4 Disagree0

4 center mids not gonna work and non of them can tackle well leave our defense open needs a solid center mid to sit infront of the back for to boss it

Agree0 Disagree1

Can we find room for John Charles in there? Maybe Paul Madeley or Paul Reaney at right back? Or perhaps, dare I suggest, you could stop living in the past?

Agree1 Disagree2

So after your imaginary January splurge we still end up with Connolly in the team? Is that on your list to Santa or are you Paul Connolly?

Agree0 Disagree0

Smith is not coming back so give it a rest

Agree1 Disagree0

Nunez might b all right footed and better in the center, but snoddy is all left footed, always cuts in on his left and neva goes round a defender and crosses with his right but bet thats ok! Just a point!

Agree0 Disagree0

Snodgrass uses both feet to turn defenders inside out and hardly ever neglects his defensive responsibilities.

Agree0 Disagree1

14 Dec 2011 17:33:57
with howson out for at least 2 month we could see more from mika/nunez

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Nunez could play behind main striker, but not as a centre mid.

Agree0 Disagree0

Are we not better as 451?? did howson play better in the hole behind becchio??

put nunez in the hole and mika alongside clayton

Agree3 Disagree0

Agree with all 3 of the above posts!

Agree1 Disagree0

14 Dec 2011 15:36:34
In january i think we need:
A striker-maybe Simeon Jackson or Nathan Delfuenso on loan
2 CM-one holding one attacking as a replacement for Howson-maybe Delph on loan of Frimpong
Defo need defenders-one CB and one RB who are actually good! Any ideas?

Believable3 Unbelievable2

What about shaun derry qpr he been in and out of team as joey barton came {Ed025's Note - check his sell by date...i think its expired..

Agree0 Disagree4

I'm a good friend of fab and I can promise you he isnt coming back, ive even nagged him but he wants 1 go season at villa before moving and I doubt it will be back here :(

Agree0 Disagree6

How many strikers do we need then??

Our problem is at the back, or have you not noticed that yet????

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Dec 2011 13:16:50
Ed, is there any chance of andros townsend in jan? Would be an excellent player for leeds {Ed025's Note - he is a great young talent, if spurs want to give him out on loan...leeds would be an ideal choice

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Apparently townsend wants out and tottenham want him out causing friction between players at training

Agree2 Disagree0

If he;s that disruptive though do we really want him here?

Agree0 Disagree1

It might just be that he doesn't want to be at tottenham anymore so he's acting up to get sold as soon as but if it is just an attitude problem then not the way to go

Agree0 Disagree0

Think we learnt our lesson with schmeikel?

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Dec 2011 14:14:08
Does any body know who the trialist against hudds reserves was?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

14 Dec 2011 13:41:40
The trialist that played in yesterday game is ryan shiels from man u

Believable4 Unbelievable2

14 Dec 2011 13:37:20
any1 know what happened to alex mendy?

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Went to Chesterfield I think.

Agree2 Disagree0

Aye scored the winner for them in a penalty shoot out against Preston

Ken bates has confirmed club captain jonny howson will be out for up to 2-3 months

Believable3 Unbelievable2

Has he confirmed anything else like money to spend as howson is crucial in our promotion push

Agree0 Disagree3

I thought SG said 'it won't be months'!! Need some quality midfield addition if that is the case.

Agree4 Disagree1

SG said it wasn't as bad as they thought it would be and there was no timeline on how long it would be

Agree2 Disagree0

Leeds fans been fed lies again when grayson said the results of the scans showed it would be a few weeks !

Agree7 Disagree2

Definatelt lies then is it? no chance of an early diognosis being a bit more generous than this later one? No, has to be a lie and nothing else doesn't it! Get a grip!

Agree4 Disagree1

Where does it say this??? NOWHERE

Agree0 Disagree4

Either way, lie or second opinion, its a big concern. Those who were happy to see Howson dropped will see how much we miss him now. We cant simply rely on Michael Brown! It will be good for MV to get a run, but I think if it going to be three months we need a high quality replacement in Jan. We were already light on numbers in midfield.

Agree4 Disagree0

Agree, theres more conspiracy theorists, whingers, and downright plonkers on this site than any other,in the top six,all to play for, without putting the club in bebt and some still arent happy,so STFU,and support your team.

Agree2 Disagree3

Recent history makes me believe Bates more than Grayson.

Agree3 Disagree4

Would that be the same Ken Bates who told us truthfully that he wasn't the owner of the club and then somehow, as if by magic, became the owner of the club? I'm not anti Bates - I think his financial policy is generally wise, but I'd trust my dog not to eat a plate full of fresh meat on the kitchen floor when no one was around more than I'd believe Ken Bates...

Agree1 Disagree0

Do you really have a dog?

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Dec 2011 13:03:42
Leeds currently have a 17 year old midfielder on trial from Manchester United, anyone know his name?

Believable2 Unbelievable1

14 Dec 2011 12:58:07
A player grayson should look to sign is cb garry kenneth from dundee united the player has told manager peter houston that he wants a move to further his chances of getting in the scotland squad on a regular basis

Believable10 Unbelievable0

14 Dec 2011 12:53:39
Leeds have signed up 14 year old emilio oliver on a two year contract from alerton grange he will now join our academy good to see us investing in youth

Believable10 Unbelievable0

14 Dec 2011 12:45:04
Ridsdale has stirred up Preston already by sacking Phill Brown!!

Anyway back to the team that counts, Ive heard rumour of Kyle Walker coming on loan, that would be a great signing, but just a rumour so probably wont happen as SG always goes for players we dont think of!
Another rumour is Becchio to Boro, if that happens I will be fuming. I pay alot of cash for my season ticket every year and he is a player that needs to stay.
Not too fussed about Keogh or ODear staying on as they are average players. I would like to see a new RB, CB, holding midfielder and if Ross goes to Wolves then a pacey striker. Lets have a super Whites Xmas.

MOT

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Kyle naughton, not walker, walker is a first teamer now in prem

Agree3 Disagree0

Neither Becchio nor Ross are going anywhere, don't worry.

Agree3 Disagree1

We're not selling any of our best players. Luciano and Ross are going nowhere.

Agree1 Disagree0

14 Dec 2011 12:06:38
who was the Trialist in last nights defeat, Anybody know ?? Gj
Lonners played 45 mins and ben parker 70 mins

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Lionel Messi

Agree2 Disagree2

I t wasn't messi it was Villa

Agree0 Disagree0

Parker eh,glad hes fit enough to ship out now.not on loan, need shut, not championship standard, injury prone, and naff all round.

Agree2 Disagree9

Frank Lampard

Agree2 Disagree1

Totally agree with the above about Parker. If he's ever fit again he's no better than League One level.

Agree1 Disagree7

Bit harsh to label Parker league 1 level when he's never really had a chance to prove otherwise. Good luck to him I say, and I hope he gets over his injuries and has a long and successful career.

Agree6 Disagree1

14 Dec 2011 11:29:20
Simeon jackson anyone in my opinion he's what we need out and out pace what we've been lacking since beckford left and he's not getting a sniff at norwich

Believable15 Unbelievable1

Wouldn't mind him. Pace to burn. Different to what we have at the moment.

Agree13 Disagree1

I really rate the guy and exactly what we need upfront, couldn't see the wages been a problem either,

Agree10 Disagree0

You mean he'd come for a tenner a week plus 3 bags of pork scratchings per goal?

Agree0 Disagree6

Throw in a bag of space raiders and we've got a deal....

Agree0 Disagree6

14 Dec 2011 11:25:27
Who's the better gk lonergan or mccarthy in my opinion lonergan is the better of the two agree or disagree

Believable10 Unbelievable3

Not too sure they are both excellent, wish we could own both Gj

Agree7 Disagree0

McCarthy is a good young player who could learn more from lonners.

Agree9 Disagree0

I'd love to say lonergan bcos he is our number 1 and McCarty will go back, 2 good keepers but McCarty been in good form, just hope Andy can get his own good form when he returns

Agree7 Disagree0

Lonners has that bit extra experience and presence.

Agree7 Disagree0

Problem is both r good would mccarthy want to play behind lonners ?? mot

Agree5 Disagree0

Lonergan has better vision. I'd be happy with either, even in the Premiership, but I'm not sure there's room for both where we are right now. Maik's good enough as a number 2.

Agree4 Disagree0

14 Dec 2011 09:43:39
Which players in our squad does everybody reckon could hold there own in the premiership

Believable3 Unbelievable0

As follows: McCarthy, Lonergan, Howson, Clayton, Snodgrass.

Agree9 Disagree0

Rachubka, parker, bruce, oh wait...

Agree1 Disagree8

I think Lees could as well if paired with a pacey cb and White could do a job. Rosco would be fine also however I think a 4231 suits us better n he is useless in that formation.

Agree9 Disagree0

McCormack would struggle in the prem. Not quite good enough. Whites and Lees, maybe one day, but they are prospects at present. White has to work on his positioning and there would be questions about Lees pace at CB.

Agree7 Disagree0

Billy Paynter, the Heskey of the Championship. He could be the Heskey of the rem too. Top.

Agree3 Disagree0

14 Dec 2011 09:40:59
There should be no excuses from bates and simon in january regarding players coming in they both said in the summer that there is money to spend if needed well it is needed not to much but enough to give us a chance come the run in from now to the end of season luckily where in a healthy position in the league which should help us attract the better calibre of player to the club thats what is needed we need more quality and less quantity mot

Believable11 Unbelievable0

The problem will come if this calibre of player expect high wages. This is where we appear to be coming unstuck...

Agree2 Disagree6

You would think Bates is going to up the wage budget just slighty in time to come just to get a bit better calibre of players, nothing ridiculous, likes of johnny and snoddy are going to want slightly more if there to stay, or we will just lose them like the rest. Saying that bates probably wont he's tighter than a ducks arse

Agree3 Disagree1

14 Dec 2011 09:26:05
When we get promoted at the end of the season leeds will only need 3-4 signings we already have plenty of players that can make the step up just look at what norwich have done and what blackpool showed in glimpses last season

Believable12 Unbelievable6

Rose coloured specs again!!

Agree5 Disagree8

We'll need a new team apart from Lees Clayton and Snodgrass.

Agree2 Disagree6

And Jesus walked on water ! {Ed025's Note - he did actually..

Agree0 Disagree5

No Ed - he didn't - it's a fairy tale. Lonergan & Lees are good enough too - White might be. Even counting White - 6 players isn't nearly enough to form a premiership survival squad.

And by the way there is no God either - otherwise Leeds would be in the champions league and Man U would be in the Wharfedale Premier League... {Ed025's Note - i cant argue with that mate...lol

Agree0 Disagree3

14 Dec 2011 09:17:32
Andy lonergan and ben parker played in a behind closed doors game yesterday against huddersfield along with bromby forssell thompson taylor

Believable4 Unbelievable0

And nunez!!!!!!!!!!

Agree2 Disagree0

14 Dec 2011 09:13:35
Who does everyone think we should be looking to get rid of on loan or for a bit of cash if possible

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Paynter Bruce Parker

Agree0 Disagree2

14 Dec 2011 08:46:55
Would anyone have Chris Martin of Norwich if Leeds cashed in on Ross Mac.?

23 goals in 46 Championship appearances proven at this level and surplus to requirements at Norwich currently on loan at Palace

Believable4 Unbelievable1

I think he's to busy with coldplay at the mo:.}

Agree4 Disagree0

14 Dec 2011 00:57:18
Surely leeds are in a good position to chase Andrew Driver from Hearts. A deal that wont break the bank. The player is not happy at the financially stricken club. TW

Believable7 Unbelievable0

Would be a good signing for Leeds if he kept injury free - dodgy knees in last 2 years has hindered his chances but on a plus his dads a Leeds fan having been born and raised in Saddleworth...! Coventry and Burnley were tracking him

Agree2 Disagree1

Dont know alot about him, any good? what position?

MOT

Agree2 Disagree0

Left wing

Agree1 Disagree0

Left wing - now let me think...Do we really need another wide player? Inclined to think we have other priorities...

Agree0 Disagree1

His dad's a Leeds fan? WTF does that matter? Maybe Mr Bates should sign up my kids - after all, their dad's a Leeds fan. I think my 4 year old girl would insist on changing the strip to pink though...

Agree1 Disagree1
