Must be the booze so mad for posting tonight. Even though I think we should keep BMD but if he gets the bullet, most likely, what about Strachan as next boss?! For me a great manager and a Leeds legend! Now we're talking! MOT.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

A Leeds legend undoubtedly. As a manager? Ermmmmmm .

Agree0 Disagree0

I do like strachs but I don't think he will come back to Leeds also I remember the times we had a string of ex players as managers and it didn't work out. Who will be next Leeds manager if BM goes don't know but how about the ex west brom manager working with Zola or just him by himself.

Glad about takeover but let's not get too excited. Not being all doom and gloom but Cellino isn't going to chuck loads of cash about like some people seem to think. he's already stated wage bill miles too high and promotion can be done on a lot less! True, but very difficult, although Burnley have proven it can be done on a budget as such. So let's not expect big money signings in summer and let's hope he doesn't bring in his own Italian players on his say so. Still think BMD the man for the job, if only on his previous record at Reading. Think about it. Before Xmas we were top 6, even though not playing too well, and then whole club goes into crisis due to off field rubbish and then the wheels came off on the playing side. So surely to God with a settled Leeds United on and off the pitch and a few experinced additions we can stay up there next year and who knows what can happen! Because let's be honest its not the greatest of leagues but probably the most competitive and every year at least half the division has a chance of promotion. Personally i'd rather stick with BMD than some Italian (Zola etc) because he's done it before and can do it again! MOT.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

They will be big money signings for this league, on realistic wages. We have been paying some players premership wages for carp football in the championship. If the likes of mcormack, austin and murphey think they can get paid what they are doing in the premership let them go and get it. Sure i'll see all three sitting on a pitch sniveling, just like snodgrass on saturday. Looking forward to seeing you next season snodgrass, howson and johnson, who knows maybe even bheccio

Agree0 Disagree0

They said that about Warnock and look what happened, Cellino has 20 years experience of running a football club, got, and kept Cagliari in the top division, can't see Mac lasting beyond the end of the season IMO, I also think the quality of players brought in will be a cut above recent times, were in a far better position than we have for ages, sit back and enjoy the ride.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think the fact that he has been paying players wages and intends to buy back the EL and TA I would say he will be splashing the cash. Yes the wage bill needs to be reduced, but I think there are 10 or so players out of contract this summer, average that at 10k a player per week, then tha wage bill will come down about 5million.

From a players point of view, I do not expect to sign any "big money" signings. 4 or 5 good value for money signings will do nicely.

Lets not forget, 3 teams come up and 3 come down, and there are plenty of disgruntled British players not getting games in the premiership sides. That mixed up with some creative italian (or other nationalities) will make a good basis to form a squad.

BMD has also had to "re-apply" for his job and admittedly he has done well with a "stable club", let's hope he really puts a shift in. Because, he will be sacked if we go on a bad run.

DS

Agree0 Disagree0

I've criticised BMD but looking at the big picture, how on earth can you have a settled side with ALL that's gone on?
Plus I'm guessing we only know half of the crap that's happened behind the scenes.
Reading are settled and have only took 4 points out of 21 in last 7 matches at majeski??

Rumour is Poyet not happy at Sunderland, would love him back at Leeds.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

14 Apr 2014 23:16:02
Poyet would need to come in pre season as he would want to build on fitness first! He has a good attitude and I would love to see him in charge. Wise was a complete clown and nothing without Poyet! But we all know that.

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't agree. There is something about Poyet I don't like or trust, when things go bad its always someone elses fault, happened at Brighton where he went behind their backs to talk to another club, now its going base over apex at Sunderland, and guess what, its the clubs fault, there is something rotten at the club according to him.

Agree0 Disagree0

Poyet hasn't done his reputation any favours at Sunderland. Would prefer someone with no previous connection with previous Leeds regimes. Same with players. Clean slate I think.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Apr 2014 23:47:46
Sorry I disagree, where there is politics there is blame and Gus has been subject to his fair share of that! What happened previously and the way he was treated was disgusting! Sunderland have done much better under his leadership - just unlucky IMO. He gets back to basics, ensures the team are fit and capable and selects on Merritt not maybe! But that is just my opinion - if I was really talented then I would be out there doing the job and not just posting on this site! But hey I love the game and I love my team so here I stay!

Who would everyones top 5 signings be. Mine are:
Mackay-Steven
Bentley (having seen the piece on ssn)
Larsson
Billy Mackay
Maguire (sheff utd CB)

Believable0 Unbelievable0

K.Westwood. R.Snodgrass. W.Hoolahan. D.Ings. Four great buys I think but imagine McCormack will be leaving. Ings a good replacement though. CB needed but can't think of one at the moment. Rio maybe!?! Haha. MOT.

Agree0 Disagree0

So I will put my head above the parapet to get snipped at who would I like to see take your pick

memphis depay
michele camponese
massimo bruno
ryan gauld

ok they could be wishes but why not

also

tiago mendes
john terry could do a job for us in his twilight years
younes kaboul if he isn't injured and plays on an appearence for money contract
urby emanualson
andrea pirlo ok he is old but would certainly cut it in the championship and maybe with MC Italian connection even if he is 34

take your pick what are your thoughts

Agree0 Disagree0

Would be good signings, think we need a more experienced centre back aswell though maybe one from the Italian leagues who can strengthen and organise us from the back

Agree0 Disagree0

Gradel, Becchio, Robinson, Howson and Smith

DS

Agree0 Disagree0

Ryan Gould
Jordan Rhodes
Troy Deeney
Alex McCarthy
James McArthur

50 mil + to secure those 5, but yes please Mr Cellino.

Agree0 Disagree0

We won't sign Ings. He'll not leave a Burnley side in the Premier League to come back to the Championship. If he leaves Burnley itll be for another Prem team. i'd like to see us take Snodgrass back from Norwich. I reckon they will go down.

Ideally i'd like to see someone like Peter Wittingham or Craig Noone come from Cardiff. Noone is injured and won't play again this season. Not sure how bad it is though.

Anyone with pace and creativity please and someone hard as nails for the defence. Maybe Martin Sktrl and Suarez feel like leaving Liverpool lol

Agree0 Disagree0

Scott Parker, trippier, arron cresswell, stephen quinn, snodgrass, inngs, ritchie, kris commins, Mattew upson, arron hughes, westwood

Agree0 Disagree0

Would love Trippier. Best RB in the league.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed003's Note - by a country mile Cork, provided the majority of assists for Austin and now Ings/Vokes.}

Sam Slocombe (Scunthorpe GK)
Nedum Onuoha (Wages and QPR promotion dependant)
Alexandre Bonnet (plays for Le Havre in Ligue 2 left winger, pace and trickery)
Franck Moussa (ooc this summer!)
Sam Baldock (Bristol City, league one's top scorer)

No ex-players, old gas bbq's or ex-Reading players please.

Agree0 Disagree0

Isnt it funny ED003 but when Vokes was at Leeds he was slated as an average player at best. Just shows that in football sometimes its works out for you and sometimes it dont! doesn't always mean you're rubbish if you don't make things happen straight away and given time you can be successful?! Food for thought?

Agree0 Disagree0

Maguie I agree also and nockart from leister along with mcleary from reading shay given in goals along with becchio on the cheap +one or two Italian players or cagliari top players like adryan ibarbo and astroi I know that's a lot but 4 or 5 of them and i'd be happy

Agree0 Disagree0

Xavi . Inniesta . Messi. Ronaldo. Ibrahimovic . Mot!!

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed003's Note - this is getting stupid now lol.}

I would love to see the follwoing on a permanent basis:

Carson or Stockdale in Goal
Cresswell at LB,
Craig Dawson at CB
Mackay Steven in the CAM / wing position
Gayle up front

From a loan point of view, we should be looking at a couple of the young players who won't get games

McEachran, Chalobah, Powell, Miyachi etc etc.

DS

Agree0 Disagree0

I would love to see
Carson GK
Huth CB
Parker cm
Assaidi LM - RM
Rhodes St

They would be my 5

Hi lads, just wondering what would be the ideal kit for leeds next season, and what do u think the sponser and the kit make will be. I think the sponser will be MC's company and I don't have a clue on the kit make.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

For me all white home kit, don't want no stripes or anything, don't really have a clue for sponsors. Also I want a full yellow kit like the one in 2002? Was it? I was only like 10 when I had it it was the srrongbow one but loved that shirt.

Agree0 Disagree0

I like the yellow shirt with broad white and blue stripe down the arms, as worn in don revies teams plus the numbered socks

Agree0 Disagree0

Would love the all whte it again and agree about the yellow away strip, also lov that rubbish, will prob be sponserd by dolmio lol

Agree0 Disagree0

Hasnt he said all white for the home strip and all yellow for the away strip

Leeds to take a look at stevie may of st.johnstone, scored twice at the weekend and has over 20 goals this season. Leeds have a good record of young scottish talents i.e snoddy. May only 20 and contract running out MOT

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Hope so I've seen him play quite a fair bit this season, hrs got quite a strike on him reminds me a bit ofsomma really and folk r saying he's championship bound so hopedully!

Some sources are reporting that we're scouting young Southend goalkeeper Daniel Bentley. ssn ran a short programme on potential talent in England and they think he is the next up and coming keeper. With a potential value of 10m once he has come of age?

Has anyone seen him play?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Hard a lot about him, but not seen him yet, but he's one of the best young goalies in England, let alone the FL. More than good enough to play in the Championship. Though he may be a bit expensive and PL clubs are also circling.

" I've won this league, i've won it in a stable enviroment" well good luck with that one Brian. Being manager of LEEDS means that you have to deal with diversity, nothing runs smooth at Elland Road and every team treat us as there cup final,

Believable0 Unbelievable0

McDermott's right and you're wrong. Other than a local rivals no-one treats us as their cup final any more. Fans living in the past are not a great help to our club.

Who are you expecting next, Wenger? Or was it you who in all serious suggested Mourinho last year?

Agree0 Disagree0

I would say that times are changing in that we not quite as big as we were but brian must realise reading and leeds are two entirely different jobs. At reading he may have been a big shot, the second coming but not here. In fact he could be one of the worst leeds have ever had in charge. He has to realise that the fans care a lot more, they convey their feelings, teams do still see leeds as a big game especially yorkshire teams and the media are always there to scrutinise him and leeds. At reading the media did not care, were on TV every week worldwide. If we're not on sky were on al jezzera and if we're not on there it's either Australian, Norwegian or Irish TV stations were on. So far this season we've embarrassed ourselves and made leeds look like a joke. GFH and McDermott have done that
Can Cellino and McDermott change that or will Cellino do it with another manager. He has to change

Agree0 Disagree0

Nah I agree with you andy, its a big job and a considerable difference to managing any of the club sin this league, hell need to come to terms with that

Agree0 Disagree0

And to back that up look at our recent exploits in the cups, arsenal spurs man u etc full houses all round that's because we are leeds there would have never been thise kinds of turn outs for anybody els in the championship

Agree0 Disagree0

Just got home from work after posting this morning, no other team in the Championship could sell all their away allocation of tickets almost every game, and the home teams sell all there's on the strength of that.

Ed how did the marching on together song get going also my favourite leeds song is the one with the line you should see how he runs speedy reaney are these songs available do you know

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed013's Note - MOT was released for the FA Cup final in 1972, I think it was released a few more times after and I am sure the last time the new era of download nearly got it to number 1. I would imagine you can download the songs on iTunes or Leeds do have CDs floating around, my son has a Leeds anthems one somewhere so it is possible they still sell in the shop}

I got brought anthems from ER shop end last season so give them a try buddy
Keep up good work all you eds great to see so. Many new bods signing up now to site makes it much more varied and topical!welcome one and all hoping to lock horns with some of you throughout the years? For survivor have you heard any gossip on poss new manager names bandied about buddy

It appears that GFH Capital wanted to flip Leeds over for a healthy profit immediately after buying it.
Thank God for Massimo

Believable0 Unbelievable0

GFH still have their fingers in the pie though, waiting to leach off us if Cellino buys success.

I expect to see quite a few changes to personel in the summer & rightly so. Ross is gone imo so we move on because as good as he's been & yes he's kept us up so kudos to him but he's not PL class imo & that's where were going. New players whether GB or foriegn is fine by me. Some of our greatest have been foriegn Lucas, Cantona etc. Will take time to gel but let's be able to go into games expecting to win or at least playing the right way not hit and hope.
So Murphy played in his correct position scores 2 so why is it McD only just noticed what most of us saw all season that Austin is pants & Murphy is an attacking midfielder who can hurt with a pass or a goal

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Austin pants?
Don't agree I'm afraid, teams need 2 types of midfielders on the pitch, 1 who's an attacking midfielder who's an eye for goal and a killer through ball pass in his pocket. The second type is a brown/Austin type, odd goal but mainly in the side to win the ball back ruffle a few feathers and put the opposition off there game.
(David batty-vinny jones) come to mind

Agree0 Disagree0

I would agree with the second poster, Austin has been played out of position for the majority of the season as has Murphy. Austin does not have the ability to link up play with the attack as he is limited in his abilities therefore he should be in a more defensive midfield role. Unfortunately, it has taken Brian 9 months to stumble on the fact that Murphy is an attacking midfielder despite the fact he has played for Crewe in that role

Agree0 Disagree0

Austin wins the ball and gives is straight back. His passing is just awful. I'm with the OP on that bit at least.

Agree0 Disagree0

Austin is good at ruffling feathers and trying to win ball back but the problem is once he gets it!
Brown is calmer than Austin and either plays short pass to team mate or (like Saturday) an accurate long pass (not often enough). Austin either goes on a run which ends in disappointment or losses the ball

Agree0 Disagree0

4th poster, I agree that Austin gives the ball away far too easily however this tends to be because he is trying to be creative which is beyond his abilities. I hope we address our Midfield in the summer as the players we have are not at the standard required however it would help if Brian played them in the correct position in the first place.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ross isn't prem class haha he's played all over the country and scored in europe i'd put any money onvhim beein a prem player very shortly and rightly sio he deserves it

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Apr 2014 06:04:56
I lived the Revie era, we've lost our identity so get back to all white kit. It was our most successful times & even those who hated us admired us in that kit if ya get my point. Forget the tie ups until we get into Europe or top the PL or at least play flamboyant like we did back then. We need a new badge for a new era, something modern but based on the old school Revie era badge

Believable0 Unbelievable0

We do not neede a new badge!

I really don't get why LUFC feelsthe need to change its badge every few years. The current badge is now firmly associated with LUFC across Europe, many fans have it tattooed on their bodies and apart from that, a badge does not affect the way the team performs on or off the park. No other club that I can think of has changed their badge for donkey's years.

1970/71 season leeds had a red change strip think I remember them playing derby who wore all blue on tv in black and white but I could be mistaken personally I prefer the home strip from the wilkinson era happy days and good memories especially gary macs goal v leicester and days save in the same game
