GIW. How did you find out? Was Mrs Integrity all flustered one night when you got home unexpectedly early? Was her hair looking like she'd been dragged through a hedge backwards? Did you spot a pair of her knickers going around on the bedroom ceiling fan? Or was it just the brilliant white and well pressed CLEAN SHEETS?

Tough couple of weeks ahead. We are certainly going to need that Depth we now have in the squad if we are going to maintain this tempo of play. The boys are going to have to dig deep when we meet tougher opposition and keep their heads. All good thus far and really happy (although there were a few looks and spats last night😬) . Thought the use of the bench was spot on. Keep it up and keep the faith MOT

Think we will be ok with millwall. Think burnley maybe a problem. Pont will have wood in his pocket but still maybe a bridge too far. Happy to draw that one. can't see anybody other than wolves and poss sheff clubs causing us any problems.

I'm sure the venerable Swadlad was sat in front of me last night, he was moaning about how poor we were, shouting WAKE UP and left before Dallas scored muttering "What a shambles" ! ! ! I had to ask my grandson if I was dreaming and we were really losing 6 - 0 and not actually winning. Guess some folk are never happy :) We're top of the league, we're top of the league, we're Leeds United, we're top of the league ALAW

Best thing about last night wasn't the goals, the clean sheet, or even going to at this early stage, it was winning ugly! Digging deep, grinding out a good result under a lot of pressure! That's what champions are made from!

Believable2 Unbelievable1

13 Sep 2017 19:15:09
I can sort of understand what your saying Curahee but I don't think we won ugly, last season we won ugly when we played bad but last night we still held our shape and we kept our attacking options! The difference in my opinion is we played a team who were looking to really stop our fluent play, they did to a degree but apart from Aylings goal line block we were always ahead, if this was last season we would of panicked and lost our shape allowing them to score in the final minutes, you see we didn't have a plan B then and now we do and a lot more on top! Although under pressure we still played our style while soaking up all they had. We looked a little tired in the final quarter but we still looked good. People are saying we have only played teams at the bottom but if those teams had beat us then they would be in the top ten so it's to early to judge it that way! I do think we have the best squad in The Championship therefore I think we will stay there! MOT

13 Sep 2017 19:39:08
Maybe digging deep would have been a better phrase. I don't see anyone apart from wolves challenging us act tye moment. It's very early but I'm not looking at the fixtures thinging ah that ones coming up!

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Sep 2017 20:06:20
We have some tough ones coming up now mate, Millwall away, Burnley away, Ipswich home, Cardiff away, Sheff Wed away, Reading home! If we are still top and in the cup after that lot then we are dining very well! But to be fair I haven't seen many better teams than us in the league, what do you reckon Curahee? MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Sep 2017 20:49:48
From what I've seen there aren't any games that I look at and think we will be lucky to draw. I just honestly can't see at the moment any better teams in the league. We're rock solid at the back, solid in the middle and with so many options up front / creative players that I honestly think opposition managers don't know how to even begin to guess how we will set up.

Agree1 Disagree1

13 Sep 2017 21:51:13
Totally agree pal but it's inevitable we will get beat sometime and it's going to hurt, that will be another test to see how we bounce back from it! But I'm with you, either to much optimism or I'm so far up my own LUFC backside, I just don't see any fixture a problem like some were last season! You know what mate, I'm just so going to enjoy this season no matter what because we have got a team not just a couple of players but a whole team who want to wear that shirt and a manager who in my opinion is a gem and an owner who loves us! So no matter what I'm so happy and I love buying the papers after a game! MOT

Pinch me to make sure I'm awake. If anyone had told me at the start of the season that we would have lost Monk, sold Wood and Green, would have taken on a new manager I'd never heard of from a team totally new to me, that Beradi would be injured, Barts would be gone and we would be relying on Cooper to play a major role in our defense, that our squad would be chock full of European talent I knew nothing about and we would look on Dallas, Hernandez, Roofe and O'Kane as key contributers then you could not have offered me odds sufficient for me to open my wallet even the smallest bit to make the wager that we would be top of the league after 7 games. I know it's early days and there are many matches still to come and that 4 of the 5 teams we have beaten are in the bottom 5, but who can join me in agreement that there is an awful lot about this team to be very very excited about.

Great post Kiwi. The difference this year is that a lot of people are making a real difference from the board, re rioters, coach down to the players and everyone else including the fans! It's great to see Cooper showing what he can do, Okane and Phillips grasping the opportunity and Roofe coming good alongside the newcomers and the stars from last year, Pontus, Aylin's and Berardi. It really is a team effort and all added together it makes a really exciting mix. I want to see us up against Wolves, Monkborough and Cardiff but we don't need to be scared of them. Corals now have us second faves for the league behind Wolves at 5/1 and bizarrely third for promotion behind Wolves and Monkborough, how is that worked out then. Bring on the Millwall, what's the odds on at least one Millwall player seeing red for trying to cope with Saiz!

Great start to the year and as excited as everyone what the future can hold. Surprised at the differences players like Cooper, O'kane and Dallas have been under a new Boss. Perhaps playing with new quality players have brought out their real potential. Loving what Saiz is doing, great work to bring such quality to our club. The squad appear to be confident, happy and in good head space now after some great results. The amount of yellow cards indicate the greater discipline that has come with the teams improvement. Can this be the year? Looking from afar one has plenty of hope and each game cannot come quick enough MOT boys keep on singing

Thinking the same yesterday about what tc has given some of the players that monk sucked dry. Tc got to know the squad quickly and got rid of the one dimentional players and kept ones that could adapt. Prob his only mistake was sacko. But that's ok. Its great to see coops okane dallas roofe and phillips all playing so much better. We have strength in depth in board management scouts and players.

I did always think cooper got grief. I know he made mistakes but he's a championship player not champions league standard, factored in with the fact he is young for a defender always made me think he was going to end up the scapegoat like Tom lees. I'm happy for him because he does seem a very good pro.

I wouldn't blame TC for Sacko, i don't think he had much of a say in that. what is good is that he quickly identified Sacko is struggling and took him out of the limelight. I still think he will improve in time and the additional quality we now have will give him that time.

Thanks MM. I'll be popping in to my local Spoons tonight. My tipple is a 1664. That could be the amount of minutes required for us to concede another league goal. I think that would take us up to a week or two before Chrimbo. Talking of up, we are going, say we are going up. See what can do on Euromillions. Not promising owt. George

Well two completely different types of game and we won both without conceding. Phillips and Pablo looked a bit weary last night but we still had enough. Dallas has greatly improved for us this season now he is being managed properly. Good bench as well so i will be more than happy to watch our second eleven against Burnley. Thought Phillips was one of our better players last night, broke loads of play up, agree about Pablo though, tries far too many killer balls for my liking, would like to see his pass completion stats, bet they aren't that great. good team effort, to lock 3 points up when your not at your best is what this league is all about

I still haven't acclimatised to seeing the League Table with us at the top. I keep having to look at it, along with the number of goals scored and goals conceded. It still feels odd. Millwall should be interesting. I am still wary of getting my hopes up too high, but at the same time can't help thinking that we are ferkin sh1t hot and will storm the League, crushing all comers like Beatles under our talent filled boots.
