It's all owens fault! Injured again so we can't loan a player. Go back to the gee gees and leave football to the fit lads!!

Believable5 Unbelievable1

Its so bad you said it twice.....Dave

Agree5 Disagree1

Its not as bad as accounts just released for ghf, going on to say that gfh ability to meet its financial obligations depends on selling assets on time, and even more worrying they state these uncertainties cast significant doubt about the groups ability continue as a going concern, and gfh losses amount to almost 300 million dollars, doesnt bode well does it,at least KB will do well out of it,think we need to look at the yanks offer ,at least hes solvent,if so even more waiting,

Bad news reported on itv4 just now. Apparently they've sold out of pies down in Braintree tonight with the arrival of Tranmere and former Leeds ace Andy Robinson.

Believable1 Unbelievable2

He's barrel chested not a pie eater :-)

Agree2 Disagree0

How is this bad news? Good for the food industry. Also, should be more respectful, didn't he score an important goal for us while on loan?

There is a question mark about
George Graham. Can't remember
what it is but I know there is one.
For the moment I think we should
stick with NW who knows what he
is doing. If you want a young
manager fine but George Graham,
David O Leary and David Moyes do
not fill this criteria. Anyway I think
David Moyes is Manchester United
bound. Personally I'm sticking
with Neil right now. {Ed013's Note - Yeah he left Leeds to go to Spurs! You had your chance George! I am sure if he was good enough he would have a job in Management already}

Believable1 Unbelievable4

I THINK I am right in saying he accepted
illegal payments from an agent. At 67 he is not what we are looking for. Neil Warnock may well be for the moment.

Agree1 Disagree0

GG accepted illegal payments prior to becoming LUFC Manager the first time. Old news. Occurred 2 decades ago.

Agree2 Disagree0

GG accepted illegal payments prior to becoming LUFC Manager the first time. Old news. Occurred 2 decades ago.

Agree2 Disagree0

Two decades ago. Exactly. He is not what we are looking for. I am sure he is
very happy being a pundit. Leave it to NW and wait a while (but not too long)

Agree0 Disagree0

Gary McAllister, with Eddie Gray as assistant.
He would do a good job in this league as you can play football on the ground unlike in league 1.
Remember he signed some quality players Becchio, Snodgrass and Freedman.
He also got sacked for doing a lot less wrong than Warnock or Grayson.

Agree0 Disagree6

For the passion about Bolton and his oh so sensitiive
treatment of Fabrice Muamba (an absolute
legend) Owen Coyle is another name to think about. But I'm getting ahead of myself here. What am I saying? NW is Yorkshire through and through. He deserves his chance. ARE YOU LISTENING GFH?

Agree0 Disagree4

Re. Gary McAllister and Eddie Gray. For heavens' sake we have been there, seen that, done that. Give NW some money, some stability and a chance. All good wishes to Rudy and Ross!

Agree2 Disagree1

McAllister & Gray? Short memory? Obsessed with our past?

Agree1 Disagree0

McAllister plays quality football, which is what you want to see. He has passion for the club and I personally believe he should never have been sacked. You say give Neil Warnock a chance...He's had longer than McAllister got, Got worse results than McAllister and has had £2million quid to spend when McAllister had nothing.
I'll admit the man didn't know league 1 football, but thats because he had never even been near it. He played and saw only quality football and thats why he used it when he managed.
Also Gray...Short memory?.... erm do you remember Gray as manager in the 1980's? He took a team of youths (which he brought through the academy) and created a team that narrowly missed out on promotion to the premiership. He was also sacked rather unfairly and his team was dismantled. One such player was Dennis Irwin and look how good he turned out to be.

Agree0 Disagree1

True, I do want to see proper football and almost anything would be better than Warnock. Not convinced by Gray but you might have a point on Gary Mac. I do worry about returners though, always too much pressure, especially on club legends like Gray & McAllister. I think I'd prefer a new face with no past connections - someone above suggested Curbishley which is a good shout.

I think, Warnock will have the next few games to save his job, i can honestly see if our league position hasnt improved by the time we play huddersfield he could be asked to leave/sacked

I know he goes on about lack of funds and depth in the squad, but i hardly think the last 4 games has done anything for his reputation.

The last two defeats, im sad to say have been due to Manager error, removing Dury from left back at Burnley, replacing two subs at half time on saturday, particulary removing our so called best player at the same time. I understand the injury couldnt be seen but i hardly think it was worth the gun ho attitude he now has.

Mid table at best, even with serious investment, there wont be enough time to close the gap by then.

Believable9 Unbelievable3

Few games?? Try 1.

Agree8 Disagree4

The Championship does churn out some strange results week in week out, we are 7 points from a play off spot and 8 points from the bottom 3, and yes i agree to some degree that NW has made some strange decisions. Also the team HE has put together are probably his 3rd choice of players seen as the Leeds board have stitched him up like a kipper......MOT

Best replacement for Manager would be George Graham. Knows how to defend. With all the goals that are currently being conceded in top flight English football there would be great value in his appointment. Further, if you actually consider the success he had with the squad he inherited and built he was probably the most successful manager since Wilko when assessed in context. Also he might get along well with Islamic owners. Bring back GG!!!

Believable12 Unbelievable10

What rubbish. He never conceded any goals and we never scored any either most were bore draws.

At the time it was what we needed to steady the ship for 6 months.

O Leary was for more successful .

Agree5 Disagree4

This made me laugh - thanks.

Agree3 Disagree1

Does he want another management job though? It's not like he needs the money. Also, one of the reasons he wanted out was because his life is very much London based. I'd happily take him back, but I can't see him being up for it.

Agree1 Disagree0

13 Nov 2012 18:01:05
was a good manager but used US as a stepping stone to spurs shows how much he wanted to be at Leeds united.we want a young manager with lots of potential that knows the league.if we get promoted to prem league i would like to see David moyes get the job and some money to go with it.

Agree2 Disagree0

Moyes would be the perfect choice but I can see his next move being a big club with guaranteed Champions League football. Wouldn't be surprised to see him at Man U when Fergie finaly calls it a day.

Agree5 Disagree2

O'Dreary was more successful but spent like a 100M to do it!! You forget GG made Robert Molenaar into a decent defender. Fine, please yourself. Lets have more managers who lose 4-6, 3-7, 2-5 and 1-6. At least we score!!!! Those who knock GG are fools. He did leave for London but maybe he'd come back.

I hope gfh don't take as long to sign players as they are at signing completion forms.
The longer it goes on then the less quality players to come in on loan available.
I mean Sheffield weds signing Connor wick ham today on loan,we could do with that talent.
Actually we could do with any talent.
Isn't it gutting though to see one of the few sides below us trying to do something positive..
And we have done?,,mmm nothing..shrew leeds

Wonder how long this TO has actually been going on for? Personally I reckon Feb... why else would Warnock change his mind and agree to work with the bearded cretin?

I would also like to see NW's ACTUAL list of targets in the summer..... before I judge this team as a Warnocks team....

That said, Simon had to work within the same type of constraints... Lies, promises and deceit..... And he managed to raise our expectations more than this.... Read one quote that compared Simon to Neil, and SG has 3 promos in 5 yrs, Neil 7 in 30yrs !!

I backed NW when he came to Leeds, and like most I was excited... no nonsense, and give as much as he gets...(especially to Bates).. But he seems to be just like SG was last Xmas, accepts rubbish performances and comes up with the usual excuses.. We all know the common denominator is Bates, but that's no excuse for not changing things to try and make a difference.... Look what Byram has done now he is in the team...

Why are we not playing the youth.... Can it REALLY be worse than what we are seeing... Poleon, Thompson, Byram, White, Turner, Lenaghan, Payne, Lees, Gimpel, Hall, Antelmi........ To name some.....

IF half of these players show the same quality that Sam Byram has, we will be fine. And have absolutely no need to pay for journeymen like Pugh, Tonge, Diouf, Brown, Green, Norris etc, etc.... we can then give the youth PROPER contracts and tie them to the club.... THIS IS FUTURE PLANNING....

That said, how can we expect this when our current manager won't even commit to the future.....

IF, and this is a BIF if, GFH finally learn how to use a pen, they need to get rid of the dross, and invest in the Academy... Produce more talent, and accept that the next couple of years is learning and development....The future is Definately Thorpe Arch and Not average championship players wanting a last payday....

So were in the final 72 hours .... clock ticking and everything should be sported for Wednesday evening , or at least that what we are being told by the media. I have to say communication from inside the club is dreadful, they want us go every home game, spend out hard earned money, yet the treat us like mushroom ( keep us in the dark and feed us with crap )

Bates has lost the fan base now, nobody has any confidence and we are now falling out between ourselves, thing need to change and quickly.

I personally fear the worst, i have thought for some time that this TO is big smokescreen and now KB doesn't know how to get out of it.

If he announces that its off, ER gate figures will drop below 15,000 - players will be sold and we will tumble.

I hope imp wrong, really i do ...... if i am wrong, then DH, needs to firstly look at building the confidence of the firebase and getting ER buzzing again.

Ticket prices need to looked at and the support towards official supports club needs to radically changed and improved.

So .... let's just sit and wait for the news or not as the case may be ... that all we can, because that's how they treat us.

I think we should bring Matt Kilgallon back to Leeds had a really good 2nd half to last season would be a real plus because we are struggling in defence also Callum Mcmanaman at Wigan would be a good shout in the wide areas and what about Steve Morrison at Norwich not playing at the moment and scored lots of goals at championship level

Believable8 Unbelievable4

Finally someone who knows the meaning of realistic targets, all 3 of the above would do a good job for leeds, people linking us with zaha and austin.

Believable7 Unbelievable4

Theres better players than jerome but would like swp for sure . we need to be looking at players that are not cup tied as well incase we do manage to win chelsea as the round after will be in the new yr giving us a chance to build a team that can win the cup .

This is from GulfNews.com today.

Might help a few guy's in this pick their heads up. All we need is a glimmer of hope. I am confident that once this goes ahead and we get a couple of handy players in we will string a few results together. Amazing what a run of 4 or 5 wins on the trot will do for our league position.

Have faith....this will happen (please God dont make a liar out of me)

Dubai: The proposed Leeds United takeover could make the club as big as Manchester City, according to UAE-resident and former Leeds United goalkeeper coach John Burridge.
A Dubai-based equity firm is said to be on the verge of sealing a takeover for the Yorkshire-based club after six months of negotiations. The deal had believed to have been stalled over issues surrounding the council's ownership of the club's Elland Road Stadium and Thorp Arch training ground.
Burridge, 60, who coached goalkeepers Nigel Martyn and Paul Robinson under David O'Leary at the club between 1997 and 1999, told Gulf News: Leeds are in exactly the same position as Manchester City were before the Abu Dhabi takeover.
It's a sleeping giant with huge potential in terms of gate receipts and fanbase and in the same way that Abu Dhabi owners made Manchester City a global giant, Leeds could become a global giant, too.
Article continues below
The same way you see kids here wearing City shirts, you could soon see them wearing Leeds tops. Leeds are Manchester United's traditional rivals not City.
Burridge added: If I was buying an English football club based on potential it would be either Leeds United, Aston Villa or Sheffield Wednesday, because the infrastructure is already in place. All you need is the right players and management and you're away.
Of current coach Neil Warnock, Burridge added: They'll need someone more politically correct and showbiz to rival Roberto Mancini at City. Warnock is a spitting sawdust type of guy. He's good at his job but they'll need someone more high profile.

In "Leeds United" we trust. It doesnt matter who the player is or who the manager is...we should follow them to the best of our ability.

Fredh....Living in hope. MOT

Believable15 Unbelievable3

Why would this cheer us up, no significant news, we all know the potential of Leeds and the people taking over as per their last accounts do not have much money, stupid post quoting an ex goalie coach who has no actual input into the business side of anything, thanks even more depressed now.

Agree3 Disagree8

Deluded and factually incorrect. The ground is owned by the BVI registered Teak Trading Corporation, not the council. Had it been owned by the council it would have been much more straight forward. Since the BVI doesn't require directors' and shareholders' names to be registered we have absolutely no idea who actually owns the ground.

We are not 4 or 5 players away from a good squad. We are at least 10 players away if we are to have a squad capable of dealing with injuries and suspensions and making up the lost ground.

We have a manager whose tactical thinking is rooted in the distant past.

GFH do not have anything like the resources of the oil-rich royals who own Man City. In fact, all the public documents suggest they have very little in terms of liquid assets. Their parent company had 3m in cash assets at the last filing of documents.

The most deluded, pointless and irritating post in a while.

Agree5 Disagree11

You guy's are typical of the support we don't need. I am prepared to support my team no matter where they are in the league, and whatever division they are in. You block heads and those who think like you typify the whole 'we only sing when we are winning attitude' Catch yourselves on. We have what we have. three weeks ago you would have been happy enough sitting with a win against Sheff wed to go into second place. 5 or 6 matches dont make a season. Why dont you throw the towel in and fck off and support someone else. I've had it with the negative comments on this site. Get behind your f***ing team and start supporting the club.

Fredh....In Leeds United I trust. Pity some of the supporters dont think like the rest of us.

Agree1 Disagree4

Cheer up man! For goodness sake....

Agree2 Disagree0

Feel free, my friend, to be a mindlessly loyal supporter. Some of us, particularly those like me who are more thoughtful and perhaps a little older and more experienced, will continue to be realists.

As for being a true supporter, I'm a season ticket holder and have being going to ER since February 1970. You cannot possibly tell me I am not a true supporter.

There is a BIG difference between being a mindlessly, loyal supporter and being a rational, concerned supporter.

I'm also a businessman. I know about company structure. I know how much debt Bates has taken on in the past 12 months (2 mortgages registered, a third expected). I know what the financial position of the GFH parent company is because I know where to look - my company has a Bureau Van Dyke subscription which won't mean much to many people on here but which gives me live information on companies throughout the world.

I also know bad football, inept management and poor players when I see them.

All fans are entitled to their opinions and we are a very divided lot at the moment. For what its worth I'd like to add my thoughts on the current situation.

Blaming NW for the current crisis is a tad unfair. Yes, he's the manager and the buck stops with him, and he chooses the team and tactics. But consider these points.

1) He was under the impression that this damned T/O was happening before the transfer window closed.
2) The majority of the players he brought to the club in summer were meant as squad players. He didn't get the important flair players he wanted.
3) As a consequence of this and injuries, we don't have forwards who can hold the ball up long enough to give the midfield and defence a breather. I'm sure NW knows that thesquad is weak and we have been under more defensive pressure than he envisaged and it's clear that we can't cope with it.

However, I'm prepared to give Nw time to sort things out. We desperately need Ross and Somma back to hold up the ball in attack. We also need new, young dynamic players to come in and to bring Poleon back.

Let's see how the squad looks in the new year and watch the team improve(hopefully). At present, I don't think any other manager could do any better in our current circumstances.

If it comes to having to change the manager, please not Harry Redknapp. We've got one wide-boy at the club already we don't need two!

Believable9 Unbelievable5

Where are all these young dynamic players, warnocks loaned them out whilst he plays the crap old mugs he's brought in, warnock out now.

Agree5 Disagree4

The way things are going we would have to win every game in the new yr to get promoted , we need to pick up at least 75% of the points available until jan to stay within touching distance of the playoffs
