Of course formation matters. Was mccormack scoring in a 4-5-1? Would Lees play as well in a 3 man defence?,is snodgrass any good on the left? Any b4 u spout the sh*te that a gud player can play anywhere, wud u put Messi at cb, ronaldo at lb or used pele, maradonna or cruyff as a keeper. Howson came thru as an attacking mf,that's his game. Didn't have a creative mf like Clayton last year,we had 2 workers/ donkeys in Johnson and killa,2 widemen and Howson in a free role. Taking time to adapt his natural game ,maybe he shud b benched a couple of games, but still reckon he will cum good. Hope so. We are LEEDS. SO is he.

Dont think 4-5-1 would suit a smaller guy, you always want a big guy up top on his own who others can gamble off winning them headers

Exactly, unless you have the most technically gifted players of their generation i.e. Barca...

Hope Howson stays. All u ' fans' wanting rid should remember this is the first inconsistent season he's had and he still has 6 months left to find his form. He's a lot better in a five mid or a 4 with a holding midfielder. He's sacrificed his own attacking game so that Clayton can work his magic. THAT'S a team player for ya,he's Leeds thru and thru.If SG gets Clingan or a DM in Jan Howson will shine. We all remember his play off goals, his rf /lf/header hat-trick and his superb strike that pulled us back into the game before Beckford scored the winner in the nailbiting final game in L1. I hope he signs up,discovers his previous brilliant form and goes on to become a LEEDS UNITED Legend

Even in his so called better years I've always seen him as a lightweight. At this level he is being found out. I see no point when some mention what formation he's best in. It just points out his inability to adapt which is no use when changes to systems need to be made. He is no where near good enough to build a team and system around. A good manager of promoted sides is aware of those players who have reached their level and in my opinion he has. Needless to say I will be berated by someone who simply has a different opinion to mine and many other Leeds fans and yes I go to home and away games before anyone pulls that one! I have also played the game to football league level but accept others may differ in their opinion?

Agree7 Disagree8

Don't think it's a case of this formation suiting someone better than another, simply think that with the free role he had last year he was easier to notice. I still think he's steady and would rather have him than not.

Snodgrass for captain

Believable2 Unbelievable12

If this does happen it would give us more of a chance of keeping him in January

Agree4 Disagree7

Vocally he's excellent in my book we all know he had a bad start and when connoly wasn't playing definitely wasn't playing his best football but just seems like a leader to me always putting his opinion across to the other players and if was made captain I think he'd be 110% every game not just occasionly

Agree4 Disagree4

I must have read those comments above wrong cos for a moment I thought they actually said Snodgrass would be an excellent captain. Definitely don't watch any football. As good as Snodgrass is if he was captain I'd say we'd be in a relegation battle, any time we're struggling you'd forget he's on the pitch and that's the man you want as captain. Thank god yer not in charge .

Agree7 Disagree1

To much is made of being 'captain', the team are not at school anymore, you don't need an armband to be a leader on the pitch. It's 11 men working together and on any day any 1 of the 11 could be the guy to pick them up and carry them thru a tough patch in a game. Be it a wonder save from Lonners, Snods dropping his shoulder and ghostin past a defender on Jonny sitting in unselfishly allowing Clayton to shine...

Agree6 Disagree1

Couldn't agree more with that last commenter

Agree2 Disagree0

I think snoddy can be mardy. Comes across like a sulky kid when he's having a go at someone sometimes in my opinion.

Agree5 Disagree0

Seriously Snodgrass is class on form and know some games he don't look interested but when he's on his game he's quality and know if he's captain he'd step up his game lets say howson gets injured who else U wanna be captain

Agree0 Disagree0

He's lucky not to pick up more bookings/red cards with his constant moaning to the officials. He needs to cut that out.

Agree3 Disagree1

Sorry guys as much as i think snoddy is a great player i dont think he should be captain, he does sulk and does go quite, i would suggest lonergran as captain though, has a good gob on him and experienced
