A player that might be available and is a proven goalscorer at all levels is Kevin Doyle who has just returned to wolves after a loan spell with palace.

What's the point in the FL banning Cellino?
Do they really think he won't still be in charge?
Matt Childs on phone to Cellino next week.
''Hey Massimo can I sign this player'' Cellino ''NO''.
Childs. ''OK boss, bye''.

You can bet your bottom pound that they will communicate via unknown untraceable non-registered phones. No email, no fax, no letters.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah, it's all bull droppings. Simply the FL flexing their macho muscles because they have nothing better to do

I don't get some fans worry's on the sale of Warnock. He has 6 months left on his contract
And yes he has been playing good the last 4 months. I think its funny 😁 how players play kack at the start and middle. Then start to put in some real shifts closer to there sell by date and for me Warnock isn't past sell by date, he's out of date and smelling a bit off.
I like the way Massimo does contract's becos to many players have nothing to play for. If players at are beloved club want good wages, then put in a good shift. Incentives is the way to go but not to big on all the players coming from Italy.
I just hope we can get them 3 points at home. Mot fingers crossed

And if the guy is commuting from Liverpool shows his commitment to Leeds, just another job mot

Agree0 Disagree0

To be fair to Warnock, he was asked to move and he said yes to moving, if he was going to be given a longer term contract than just one year. Otherwise what is the point in uprooting when he would only be there at most 18 months? I think Cellino is being unfair there to try and get the fans to turn on the lad, rather than him.

He has to learn to compromise too, if you want players to commit to you, then you have to commit to them as well!

Ed 001 if someone was going to give me 20+ grand a week and gave me a year contract at 33 I would move and rent for the year and if I had to drag the wife and kids I would

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - even if your kids are at school and settled? Plus he is not on 20k a week, nor was he asking for that much.}

Just what you don't want in a relegation situation is a 6 foot 4 inch untested albanian footballer. We need a proven goalscorer or the futures looking very bleak.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Even the goal scorers proven at previous clubs, just can't do it for us, they seem to turn mediocre as soon as they pull a white shirt on.

Agree0 Disagree0

There are no proven goal scorers available on loan, especially in January.

We could go for someone like Benik Afobe, but even then its a relative gamble.

To add to that, there is no way MC is going to sign within the leagues, he doesn't rate the players and thinks they are over paid.

Unfortunately an unproven Albanian or Croatian or Italian is all we will get. And even then, they will not be a regular, but a bit part player who has hardly featured this season.

As if things aren't grim enough, Tomas Brolin posts a picture of himself naked in the snow. Don't look before you eat!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

It could have been worse, It would have been embarassing if was wearing a leeds shirt at the time of the photo. Thinking about it, it was always embarrassing seeing him wearing a leeds shirt.

Agree0 Disagree0

Oh very true Marc. Never thought of that. Could have been much worse. Perhaps he's done it just to remind us not to be too critical of some of our foreign signings. We've done worse in the past. Much worse

Maybe redder sis getting ready for league 1

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Redders may well be managing in League 1 next season. Hopefully, not with us, as we will still be in championship with the albanian equivalent of Pep Guardiola (very very cheap) steering us along.

Are we not getting any players in until Cellino knows the outcome of his Appeal? Does he really want us to go down? Games & time are against us. Pull your finger out man!

Agree Liverlass
It's going to be trying to pick up the scrag ends on the final day by the looks of it

Mid afternoon rant time.

I see we are linked to another tall forward (which I have no problem with as it is an area we lack in), but having looked at the stats/goals of all these supposed linked forwards I have to ask the question (which I did in the summer as well) why did we sell Matt Smith? He had a new contract, fairly cheap, had championship experience, decent ratio goals wise for us and since then still showing he can score, play a good role in the squad, sometimes plan A, sometimes plan B but the guy will get you around 15 goals.

My point is that MC is just trying to replace him with people who have a similar goal record but with the added risk of not playing in England, I don't get this one for sure, he was worth more than 500k.

I can see us having more bad news on Friday after the appeal or just before the Brum game but trying to stay positive, will be there Saturday but will be a close game I reckon and will we score from open play????

Mistake letting Smith go as he was always going to improve his game. can't see us getting Pavelotti or Kryhn so someone needs to start looking at what's on offer in loan market here

Agree0 Disagree0

Maybe we could resign Matt Smith, hows that for tactical genius!

Agree not much chance of getting Pavelotti too much Italian interest in him

Agree0 Disagree0

We ain't going to resign Matt smith, MC got rid of him, why would he bring him back.

I have no faith whatsoever in MC in terms of January signings, and it will be his lack of experience and respect for the league that will get us relegated.

Here we go
On thurs 15th Cellino has his day with the Fl
If he fails Matt Childs will be in the hot seat.
So who is Matt Childs?
Probably a Cellino yes man of course.
Are we in trouble?
Of course we are.
The club is in financial good shape but we can't score goals and we are still conceediing them.
That's why we are in a football mess near the bottom of the table.
What we need is a great man to dig us out of this hole.
Sadly I don't know his name .

I know on current form it's an easy thing to say but why did we ever sell Matt smith? 14 goals for a first season is decent although not outstanding, however he gave us a dimension we simply not got now and he was cheap, we needed wingers anyway. I do believe he needed a season to get used to the championship as do all our new additions. I believe we will be much better next season provided we stay up.

I think a lot of us are missing the point about who goes and who stays. When he took over it wad to build a team that could take us to the premiership and keep us there. If anyone thinks players like Warnock and Austin are our future then they are a bit delusional. The players we have got are capable of getting us to the top half of the table. Its the formation we have been playing that is the problem. And for people to blame Cellino for that is a nonsense. Its the coaches job to identify tactics and get results. The formation has changed now you think Cellino got on the phone and said I changed my mind play with wide men. Redders has seen the light and realised the kids he has nurtured for eight years are not going to save us and that it will be down to more mature players, hence Sloth back in team. Kids playing at any level need rotating and a rest, ie Sterling. Coaches need to pick teams for games we were picking same team every game with same game plan. We beat Derby by attacking then go to their ground with same game plan, obviously McLaren would have sussed out how to play it. Said before use the squad we have fully they are all capable of playing a part even little Dawson mot

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Agree BIGE. Having reflected on the Warnock situation, it's a bit of a no brainer for him and for us. Although he may not go due to his ankle injury. There was never any chance of him being offered a contract after the end of this season, and we should have enough cover at LB for the next few months. Totally agree we have players that are good enough to stay up and better. If we end up going down, it won't be because Cellino let Warnock go in January. I don't think MC will let us go down, but if we do, we will only be where we would have been if he hadn't come along in the first place.

Agree0 Disagree0

And should have added Rudy Austin in similar position, so expect him to go as well if we get any interest

as a player ant cover more ground in 10 mins than morison would cover in 5 games that says it all . with ant we need balls in between 6yrd box and area for him to run onto with morison pray

13 Jan 2015 09:53:19
I just NOT BELIEVE IT nr is saying playing morison and if he gets it in front of goal he will score so why did he get sent to millwall and how comes he doesn't play nr you should go to spec savers morison is lazy doesn't run for the ball if it's more than one foot away from him I wouldn't pick him i'd play with 10 men he's rubbish lazy and not they for club is nr just praying he will score and then say yes got it right but morison want score passed it .

I don't think it's the best move for Leeds to lose Stephen warnock as he has been are most consistent defender
But the way he has been treated this season it has not surprised me to be fair
Against brentford away he was having a mare and CelliNO rang milanic at the time and told him to sub him he then was left out of the team for a few weeks what stunk of rubbish
If derby want him he will be playing prem football next year so he can not be that bad
I think CelliNO looks at the value of there wages too much so he sees the high earners should be doing more for the club as he is paying them more
He does not see that paying 18k a week for a great defender is worth it as he does not see what value he gets for that wage a very old school way of thinking in football
I also see this kind of meddling as my reason I hate CelliNO and think he is worse than previous regimes
Let the manager manage as they please because they should be accountable for the team they style it plays and how it performs on the pitch
You can sack the manager for his misgivings with transfers style of play and the results we get BUT who can sack the president??

I've made a similar comment about Warnock elsewhere on this site where people were critising him for considering leaving - why shouldn't he? It was made clear to him long ago by Cellino he wasn't wanted. He's played well for us this season.
Whilst I don't hate Cellino as you do & i'm willing to still give him the benefit of the doubt, he does need to accept that some of the problems this season are of his own making. He & his back up are responsible for the players we've sold & signed & for the coaches we've had.
I didn't expect great things this season & commented back in July/August I expected & would accept us finishing mid table whilst the team got to no each other & the money worries were sorted but I honestly didn't expect us to find it this hard this season!
This Jaunary could be make or break for us.
