You cant 'buy glory', you buy the players that will help you achieve your goals, this whole 'buying the league' accusations need to stop, if youve got money, gladly spend it

We have been told that we can start to dream...Well here's 2 nightmare rumours that you wish will never happen.

1) Neil Warnock has bought the Paddy Kenny contract so he now owns the best goalkeeper in the land. (NW words not mine). Thus nothing stopping him from joining Forest and taking Paddy with him.
2) Ken Bates has so convoluted the finance and ownership of Leeds United that even he has lost the plot. (Well he is getting on a bit and his memory ain't what it used to be). So to get things better understood he has asked for Due Diligence from prospective buyers to organise and tabulate his finances before he gives them short shrift and carries on as before. This has cost him nothing and he gets a better understanding of how he has set up Leeds. (A little like getting your garden dug over by anonymously telling the police that there is a body buried in No.10's garden. They'll soon come and dig your garden over for you) Costs you nothing and you profit from the final result. A vit like all of KB's business plans.

Taking so long on this takeover I'm losing the plot!!

When and where has Warnock said this. Also, I may be wrong but I'm pretty sure you can't buy a player as a person but only as a club. That's why there was a massive problem with "The Tevez Saga". He was owned by Kia Joorbachian but was playing for West Ham which was against F.A rules so that would mean that Warnock wouldn't be able to "buy" a player.

4 weeks ago guys were coming on here and talking about the new supreme team Warnock was going to build. All sorts of names were being touted. Anyone who suggested that the takeover was a load of rubbish was jumped on. Well here we are with the team back in training, so lets ask ourselves one question. Have we , and Warnock, been taken for a ride again by Papa Smurf. The answer is a definite yes. There is no takeover and there is no new team.FACT!!

i know some people put some very questionable stuff, but telling people who have a different opinion to support another club is stupid, i do recall we are Leeds UNITED, not much of that going on if youre suggesting supporting another team

I will not be buying any season ticket or other ticket, or mechandise .. etc (and urge all other supporters to do the same) until I know the takeover has been successful, and the owner is no longer Bates.

Bothe arguments are right. We should support are players the way we always have but if we keep allowing Mr Bates to keep doing his, now you see it, now you don;t trick with player sales. Then when will it end.

I hate Bates but I still renewed my season ticket on day one. Does that make me a better or worse fan? Neither.

Some people on here tell me I'm not a fan because I criticise the club's board and I really don't rate Warnock. They're wrong - I'm entitled to criticise because I AM a fan.

I can understand why someone doesn't want to fund the Bates regime. He's a vile, reactionary fascist and his programme notes make me sick. They're an embarrassment as well as being frequently unlawful. 3 of the 5 people I go with haven't renewed and have given very good reasons for not doing so. One of them's being going for 20 years, one for over 30. They think they're being taken for a ride.

Let's stop all this 'you're not a real fan' stuff. We're all real fans, we're entitled to hold different views on Bates, Warnock, the quality of signings, whether Grayson should have gone and so on. Being a fan doesn't mean you can't question things or even that you have to go to every game.

All these people saying a big announcement will happen tomorrow. Don't you think there would be something on the OS or any sport webpage, SSN or BBC for starters saying there will be a press conference happening.

All the news groups know that a takeover is in progress so would have an update on there pages as soon as a press conference is announced, something along the lines of 'Press conference at Elland road tomorrow, rumoured to be announcing the takeover. More news later'

I used to work on a sports website and they usually found out about press conferences of this magnitude a day or so in advance (if possible) so that they could schedule a reporter to be there.

I know what your saying ,but,magnitude?...
truth is sports papers/radiostations dont care....not many teams get mentioned....they get their teeth into one topic and hammer it for weeks....leeds will not be that topic for a long time...Ts

according to news now look at the ITV news link it says that the take over may be announced within the next couple of days heres hoping. There is an interview even though it is short with a journalist that has heard about the take over look and see what you think.

does anybosy know what "External Event" at ER is causing the closure of Billys bar and Howards? Clutching at straws (especially after warnock kinda pured water on the idea) but along with the Ticket Office being closed on Friday - maybe there is something happening sooner than we thought. Expecting alot of footfall down ER on Friday as well as a rus for tickets?

Also - The rumour about Andy Gray is around Somma's injury, i hear....

Andy Gray has been linked to us by YEP. Yes he may be Eddie's nephew, but so what? He's been released, yes released, by Barnsley. Why would we want him? He's 34 and not done anything special! If this rumour turns out to be true I have seriously lost faith in Warnock, all he's managed to achieve so far is raise the average age of our squad. Clayton out for Green? Seriously? Adam Drury is way past his prime, Jason Pearce so far has been the good signing, and Paddy is also good, but is getting old too. I could have sworn that a few months ago he was saying he would not only be leaving Leeds in the Premier League, but with a squad investment for the long-term future. Yes there is still a long way to go till the start of the season, but 4 have been bought already, they can't possibly, especially with the lack of funds, be contemplating too many more. Lets hope that takeover becomes reality soon!

I don't think the takeover will make much difference to the money we will have to spend. I think NW will have a limited budget. Better than we had with bates I would be guessing, but nothing like Forest will have.

There is also something about throwing a team together like this....players don't become Leeds players by coming into the team and throwing a shirt over their head...they have to grow with the club...LEEDS UNITED are not that kind of club...it needs to grow inside you to have the spirit of the club....how could you like us with have Leeds in you body and soul. Bet this reads silly...but my thoughts...

The euphoria of a billionaire new owner is fading rapidly for me when we are reported to be snatching 34 year old Andy Gray from the clutches of Bradford City. Why are we assembling dads army if we have 6 million to spend ?

Does no-one think Robbie Rodgers should be our left mid next season he was fantastic for the time he was on the pitch

To be honest, I watched him run on the pitch, get knocked out almost immediately then get taken off. So how you can deduce he looked good from that I don't know. I would like to see him complete 90 minutes. Per season will be important for him

I saw the games Rogers played last season and I have got to admit that I wondered how he got in the starting eleven. Saying that, he must show something in training that we have yet to see on the pitch.

This isn't looking as rosy as it did some days ago.
I really hope I'm wrong, but when Man City were being taken over they bought Robinho which gave clear indications of the new owners wealth.
This really is dragging on now...

We can only invest 6 mil + profit from last season + sale of players this season so don't think we will spend more than 1 mil on any 1 player even when takeover complete

I dont think we need to be spending millions on player. Didnt work for Leicester did it? I think intelligent, reliable and consistent players are the requirement irrespective of value. Would rather have 2 players at 500K of this ilk than a big name player who doesnt put it in every game......Beckford!

I agree that we don't need to shell out millions on players to get us out of this division; saying that, I would rather have a striker that knows how to score and where the net is even if he does appear lazy sometimes rather than one who gives 110% every game but is fairly useless! (I'm sure we can all think of names for either camp)

on Kenny signing. Warnock was desperate to get this guy in for whatever reason, despite terms being agreed weeks ago nothing ever happened. then amazingly, Clayton is sold for a pittance and Paddy arrives a few days after. sell to buy doesn't work if you're not making a profit on your sales!

Takeover complete tomorrow complete with a triple singing of Norris, Varney and Peltier. Within the following weeks, Warnock gets Whitebread, Jerome Thomas (quality winger for this league, with a promotion under his belt) and Paul Scharner (premiershipclass) on free's. Adding DJ Campbell and Simon Cox to add firepower. Reckon with a couple of young premiership players on loan that squad would get us back to the top tier. Let me know your thought, marching on together.

Question - how can forrest announce due diligence a day after us and then announce the takeover befor us ? Can no one see anything wrong with this. And don't come with our books are all over the place n it's a lot more complicated cus it's not i think the deal is off or they don't have much monies myself. Thats because a, there a cheaper club b, there a smaller club c,there ground and facilities are not owned by seperate people d, there owner has passed away. IF only we had abit of luck.

A) Forest arent a cheaper club, Al-Hawasi bought us for 75million. B) How are we a smaller club? what are you basing this on? C) Us at Forest own our ground but not the land D) Yes our owner passed away, if anything this has made the sale of our club more difficult as there was issues with the will he left etc..
