Personally think McDermott will e a good appointment! Never liked warnock and his hoof ball tactics! At least McDermott know football! His did every job at reading. Brought Doyle and long for about 80k when he was scout and managed them to championship title on limited budget. Also able to sell top stars like long and siggurdson and still move forward. Quick question to fellow fans would your prefer to keep byram next season or cash in for say 6-7 million and buy 3-4 quality players. I mean we could play peltier in his natural position, spend 2m on quality centre half then rest on wingers and top notch forward! Personally think cashing in on a rb wouldn't be worst idea. What u think ed?

Believable3 Unbelievable3

In what way would selling our only asset be progress? we need to build the team around Sam.

Agree2 Disagree2

You would think we SHOULD be in the position to keep him and spend 5 - 6 mil on players. But it looks like the decision has been made according to comments by BMcD, and he isn't the only one set to go. I personally would like to keep him, but for his future it is better that he moved on as long as the money is pumped back into the team. At the end of the day, we are going to lose him anyway so I suppose the money may be better spent on 3 or 4 players.

Anyway good luck for the next few games guy's.

I thought man city wanted him for 10 million?

Yep. 6 up front and the rest to follow so obviously terms in the contract. So many matches. Capped etc. whatever they put on these clauses. Hopefully we will get him on loan for next season.

Wellcome, Brian!

You're wanted, trusted, and we'll support you as loud we can! I hope you sign your contract well aware of what you're doing! that you're not just relieved by getting a new job - but that you're thrilled and honoured by getting THIS job! I hope you feel in your heart and head that this is not just another championship club, but a sleeping giant and misheld beauty, with so many passionate people caring - waiting for our prophet and menthor to take us to the promised land and fields where we belong! I hope you walk into Elland Road feeling our history, our pride, our passion and overwhelming support! I hope you feel prouder than football's ever made you! I hope your heart beets faster, and even for some hidden tears in your eyes!

But more than that, I hope you're blindfaithed in belief that you are our prophet! I hope you're confident in your ability, your skills and management, and have the hunger and strength to do the job, and cope with expectations and stormy tides that's broken so many "proven" men before you! I hope our owners have given you the funds needed, and (for once in our latest history) will keep their promises!

Treat us with honesty and respect, and we will support you! Give us a playing attacking team, and we will die for you! Take us to the premier, and we will name our sons after you! Give us a title or take us back in Europe, and we will even name our daughters after you!

This is the beautiful landscape you're about to enter! It's scared good managers before you! I hope YOU are ready! Cause you're my man, the one I've really hoped for these past few weeks! And the one I believe we need to perform - not miracles, but rock solide work!

Get on with it mate!
You're our gaffer!

Apparently there has been no news regarding the so called imminent appoint of BMCD because Gus Poyet called Patel and Haigh and said hold fire, I want the leeds job but let me do the right thing and finish the season with Brighton first. He also said he would pay all of the compensation package himself so he can come and manage his beloved LUFC. no wait. that's what i'd do if it was me. I would manage the club for 500 quid a week and you wouldn't be seeing the sunday football that warnock brought to Elland road I can assure you.

Every home game this season I keep on saying the crowds will come back the crowds will come back but they dont. Everyone has their own reason and those who can't afford because of money can't do anything about it. But because I have been going to Elland road throughout my 54 years. I can tell you there is no place like a FULL Elland Road. Only a few games left to go, but if its possible for everyone to put aside whatever your reasons for staying away and come back for these last few home games I honestly think a massive Leeds crowd is worth an extra man on the pitch. i'm not looking for an arguement as to why your staying away that's not my business, in just asking you as a Leeds supporter to turn up and sing.

I am looking forward to watching the last of the matches I can go with a view that things will get better. I was getting a bit nervous about our league position but in reality I don't think we were in any real danger there are clubs below us ie Blackburn who are in a worse position. I do not blame NW totally for the position we found ourselves in there were things going on behind the scenes and when his book comes out it might clear a few things up. One thing I didn't like was how he kept saying i'm off this does not fill the players with confidence. I would like to wish the new manager and his backroom staff all the best our new journey starts now. MOT

Believable7 Unbelievable0

Colin said as soon as he arrived this was his last job and wants 1 more promotion, the players knew he was only a 1 season stopgap, that's why all his signings where short term pensioners.

He is to blame his tactics where inept and you have to play football to get out of this league, now just look at the teams who have won promotion the last 3 years all playing teams no hoofball to be seen.

Also I would like to add well done GFH for not falling for media bias and signing the new colin ie. Martin hoofball o'neill.
we dodged a bullet there who ever gets him next is going to get ruined as a club.

Happy Birthday Chief

Welcome mr mcd. For the record, I wanted you as manager. Warnock has nearly ruined our team, i'm sure you are the one to save it. We are a passionate lot and are also realistic. We know it will take between 1-3 years to get to prem. we just want improvement and a team that plays good football and wants to play for leeds. Take your time, buy tge right players, get rid of most of this team and get leeds back where they belong. Goodluck and as long as tve team improves you will have my backing and support.

Right. I'm hearing a lot of negativity again on this site and it's starting to wind me and a few others up. We are called Leeds UNITED which I feel is something we haven't been for some time. Let's look at the facts of this last couple of seasons.

The team:
The team we have this year was a good championship side. They were assembled on a shoestring through no fault of the current owners and have performed well against some good sides. (the cup runs, Cardiff, Leicester, palace in fact most of the teams in the top half) however we have massively underachieved against the bottom teams and that inconsistency has cost us.

The manager:
Warnock was a good manager. Look at his record. He has not been backed by bates last summer and due to results over the Xmas period had already decided that he was leaving before the end of the season do why would the new owners back him when he's off in a couple of weeks anyway? So thanks Neil enjoy Cornwall.

The owners:
They have yet to prove that they have financial clout. I do believe they have more money and will run the club better than captain birds eye did (which let's be honest isn't that hard to do) in the short term look at what they have done. Reduced ticket prices, reduced season ticket prices, half season tickets and there has been a lot more transparency with the new owners. It's not as cloak and dagger. They are trying their hardest to get the fans back and fair play to them. Let's hold off until the end of August then moan if we haven't spent anything.

To summarise. The club isn't in as bad a shape as a lot of doom and gloomers make out. We will not go down and with BM in charge we will see a lot better style of football. My prediction for the last five games is:
Leeds 2-1 Wednesday
Leeds 2-1 burnley
Birmingham 3-1 Leeds
Leeds 1-1 Brighton
Watford 3-0 Leeds

So can we stop the moaning and get behind the team. The best we've played this year at Elland road was Blackpool and that was the first Leeds for less game. 28,000 on a cold midweek 2 goals and a clean
Sheet. Let's get behind the lads on saturday and regain some pride in Yorkshire

Great article mate, that's how I and many of my Leeds mates feel. I think Warnock's idea's for this League are a bit past their sell buy dates. Football even in this League is played more and more on the ground with better Technical players than the old style.
I have seen this team play some good football at times ie against Spurs ect, but revert to type when the pressure is on in the league.
Everyone new we were 2 or 3 players short, including Warnock, but circumstances stopped him getting the funds needed to go and get them. The uncertainty during the takeover and the new owners knowing Warnock was away at the end of the season conspired against them releasing funds to buy players that the new incoming manager might not want.
I'm sure if we had been in a good challenging position in January, on a good run, it would have given them confidence to invest in the team,
I agree strange decisions regarding team selection havn't helped ie why sign Ryan and not play him and I still don't understand why we sent Ross Barkley back to Everton when on loan?
Still its Leeds we support not some no mark never will be team like Millwall and we never do it the easy way.

He can go direct as an option but not hoofball, he gets them to play the channels. He usually sets up his team to be able to play in a number of different ways and to be flexible in their approach. If you don't know what your talking about why post something?
