My mate works at Norwich City's training ground and the rumour is Snodgrass is heading that way in January

Does he have a New Year date with Delia or something? Maybe Mrs Snodgrass needs to brush up on her culinary skills.

Bates is going to sack Grayson by xmas,he wants a bigger name in charge!

Believable8 Unbelievable10

Really? What big name do you think he has in mind? And which big name manager is going to work for a bloke like Bates for a crap salary and no transfer budget? Grow up.

Agree6 Disagree1

To the first person who replied - who has ever said there is no transfer budget? I know it's hard to trust Bates but he insisted there was funds to spend in the summer prior to the deadline - proved by the fact we'd agreed to sign puncheon on a permanent deal, Grayson was the one who left it late (in all fairness the lateness of gradel leaving probably didn't help).

I'm not hating on Grayson however claims that bates won't release a transfer budget are pure speculation so let's please stop assuming that because we didn't spend that Grayson wasn't given a budget when that has never been stated in any interviews with Grayson or Bates

Let's get behind the whole club regardless of what's going on

Bates has been pretty explicit in saying that he won't allow Grayson to spend money the club doesn't have. It's a recurring theme in his program notes so this is hardly speculation. No manager with available funds would have spent as little as Grayson so I think this, combined with Ken Bates's constant references to not spending money are pretty conclusive.

In fairness to Bates, I'm not at all critical of him in this respect. We've been there and done it with Publicity Pete and I for one don't want to go there again. The problem I have with Bates is his use of his program notes to express his pretty offensive political views. I also think his '7th isn't good enough' statement was at best misguided.

What! You mean like Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink as player/manager. Much bigger name. In fact it's 11 letters bigger.

Ranieri, the tinkerman,an old mate of Bates,or Benitez, both would jump at the chance to manage Leeds, watch this space.

Agree0 Disagree2

Ranieri & Benitez. Personally I don't rate either but, having managed at big clubs with big transfer budgets I really can't see either of them wanting to come to a 2nd division club with no cash.

What utter s**te, Ranieri and Benitez. they are Champions League, not Championship.

Interesting article here which absolutely proves how well Grayson has done considering the resources he's been given (or not) to build the team.

www.thescratchingshed.com/2011/11/simon-grayson-a-bargain-at-56320-per-point/

Basically it's a mathematical analysis of how much each team has 'paid' per point in the league by dividing costs by points. Grayson is clearly top of the league and had won almost TWICE as many points per pound as the next best manager.

I'd be interested to see what the anti-Grayson lobby response is to this with resorting to emotive drivel about 'being a big club'.

Believable7 Unbelievable4

His record speaks for itself. i'd be happy to see him around as long as Dario Gradi was at Crewe, but that's pushing it.

How can you click disagree? This is mathematical fact - you can't disagree with ACTUAL FIGURES! or do you live in a world where 2+2=5?

Agree3 Disagree2

The facts are, were we are in the league, stats which work out money per points, are all well and good but mean nothing at the end of the season,id rather be at the top of the championship and bottom of the money per points table.

Agree2 Disagree2

We'd all like to be top of the league, mate. The point that these figures make is that, considering what has been spent, Grayson has done well. The anti-Grayson lobby seem to be under the illusion that he's not doing well and these figures are pretty conclusive proof that actually he's done very well with what he's had to work with.

I also think anyone who believes we'll be top of the league with our current paper-thin squad, no matter who the manager is, is being a little naive to say the least. We're only two bad injuries away from being a bottom half club.

The team needs some investment. Yes we have some great players like Clayton & Lonergan, but we need backup, as recent events have shown.
