Good Post Farley, I never even thought of that, imagine if he turns out like that, what a player he was. I was actually sat in the west stand directly in line with of the wonder goal against Liverpool, it did the old hair on the back of the neck stand out, a match I will always remember! Nice one Farsley. MOT 👍

Yeah, I was there too Mike, in the Geldered End, right behind the flight of the ball. The hair on the back of my head fell out though! MM

Yes, I was a young lad and will never forget walking out of the ground after the magical moment, when some bald headed guy covered in tattoo's tapped me on the shoulder. I though 'S#*t what have I done now'. He proceeds with 'Lad you will come here for the next 50 years and never see a goal like that'

Mad Mick, can you remember the sound of it leaving his boot, it was if the whole stadium went silent as the ball hit the bar then down and back up into the net behind David James, I heard the noise of the ball hitting the bar and then the net making that sound as it hits it, you know what I mean, absolutely breathtaking and it will live with me forever. It's one of those stand out moments in your life, some think I'm stupid but you had to be there to appreciate it! MOT

Anyone have an idea of our total net spend on players so far? not including Taylor's supposed money. Also where do we stand with spending all this on players and buying the stadium with FFP?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

11 Jul 2017 22:08:13
Haven't a clue what we've spent but if we break ffp you can be sure the FL will throw the book at us and give us a points deduction just like they did with QPR. oh wait

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Jul 2017 22:15:45
Dont think that buying ER is included in expenditures but it reduces our costs be 1.7 mil. He does seem to be spending well but not an idiot so i assume he has a plan otherwise he would hit the loan market. can't see him letting us fail.

Think owners used to be able to contribute 8 mil but not sure if its changed. Maybe a few going the other way. I can't see us keeping hold of all those midfielders and reckon one of antonson, erwin or douks may go.

Agree1 Disagree0

11 Jul 2017 22:25:05
You can lose £39m over 3 years, starting from 16/17 season. We won't know what the finances for 16/17 will be until about March, but we should be well inside ffp. We also only had 55% of wages to turnover, by far the lowest in the league.

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Jul 2017 23:02:57
If memory serves regarding FFP it excludes facilities (otherwise every club that built a stadium would fail for about 10 seasons) . Its calculated over a 3 year period and you can make a loss of I think it was £15m (could have gone up, that was a couple of seasons back) with the owner able to inject £15m, so £30m for all intents and purposes. You can go over as long as you go up because then you get the promotion payout which some teams do, think a couple of teams are on the verge if they don't go up this season. We made a £9m loss season before last and that's expected to have gone down significantly for last season (£5m of that was kit provider change and lawsuits) that could give us £15/£16m to play around with, though we have probably gone through about £10m of that already.

I can't remember a summer pre season of signings like it, no loans, all on good contracts, the Manager not on a rolling year contract and to be honest the signings are solid, and I stick with the fact that we have a very strong backroom set who have worked for some top clubs and they have a mass of knowledge about who is out there, so they must of seen something in these players because I really don't think Radz is messing around. I get the feeling he wants us in the Premiership sooner rather than later! MOT 👍👍👍

Can you imagine what Wood will be like with some competition

Believable1 Unbelievable0

11 Jul 2017 19:58:36
Wood might not be around he could be sold to compensate for all the signings, let's just hope he's here to partner one of the new boys, we need a CB who's going to be in front of Cooper.

Agree1 Disagree4

11 Jul 2017 21:41:41
I actually said that to someone today Wex, we ended up 7th with Wood scoring a significant amount of the goals so with another good striker to support and to play up front with him and a good scoring midfield the signs are great and Wood should be even better! MOT

Agree4 Disagree0

11 Jul 2017 21:33:13
Would be strange if Rad and Co built up all this good faith with the fans then dumped Wood out of the club with no notice. TC favors a front 3 supposedly, Saiz can play LW so he could go Saiz, Wood, Alioski. Both provided 14 assists last year so I'm guessing he will be salivating at the thought of that.

Whiteman12 you have every right to say what you like on here, there are no bully boys on here just passionate true supporters. Some of us like me are sometimes more passionate than we should be by believing the unachievable! But like your posts that's my opinion but it's that last sentence about Swadlad being right that let's you down! It's just negative posts after negative posts, we are not bully's nor will we be bullied because I don't know of any other pre season like this with so much positivity around Elland Road so please tell me how on earth can anyone be so negative about Leeds! MOT

Agree1 Disagree0

11 Jul 2017 22:30:54
You're entitled to your opinion and no one is bullying, but yourself and Swad's constant negativity and slating of the manager and signings is getting tiresome. We finally have a lot to smile about as fans, yet some still just want to moan. They way you two are always criticizing the club can be interpreted as you being fans of other clubs looking to wind us up. Cheer up a little.

Before he was appointed TC stated what he would have done in particular situations which monk didn't to radrizanni. To me it is evident that after all the fans saying we had no plan B, that this is where there is logic to the signings of Ekuban, Saiz, and Alioski. These players may be starters or alternatives, we don't know the capabilities of our coaching staff and the gel within the team yet, Austria will certainly test us on this. After these 3 players sign, which I expect to be likely, I am of the opinion that orta and his staff will go all out to sign 1 last proven defender and a promising left back. Borthwick Jackson sounds appealing after his performances in the English leagues, this would be a good one to sign permanently, offering competition for Denton. I can also see us looking to sign flint, batth, or salamon as a CB. Whatever happens I have faith in TC as he appears to have a strategy around his signings. I think he'll hold on to the majority of players until the 1st game of the season, then look to offload what he doesn't want after this. Isn't it nice for once to be maintaining our good players and attracting new ones for a decent worth. With these lot in charge I'd expect to see our transfer record broken with in the next 2/3 years. Hi guys first timer here not really happy with the new signings to be honest apart from Anita who is proven in this league. The Manager never heard of him. The Goalkeeper could be ok but let's a lot of goals in. The young kid from Liverpool could be anything so can't really comment on him hopefully he will be good. Saiz doesn't look like a championship player from what i have heard he is a flash in the pan player very inconsistent like Hernandez.

Klich is a similar player to Luke Murphy not brilliant but not bad either. I think we need to look at current Championship players or players promoted to the premiership who have done it in this league before to have any chance of promotion. Anyway fingers crossed M.O.T

We have lost Barts and Taylor apart form that we have all the best players from a 7th place finish last season, we have added 5/6 with most likely 2 or 3 more (defenders ) to come . If the new additions add the bit of quality we will be very difficult to beat. 2 or 3 more players last year would have got us up

Believable3 Unbelievable0

11 Jul 2017 09:27:22
Taylor missed half the season and arguably wasn't as good as Berardi last season, so only really Bartley is missing. We've also improved the midfield and added creativity, which sorely lacked last season.

Agree1 Disagree0

11 Jul 2017 10:47:10
taylor did miss half the season, beridi was no where near as good, if we had taylor all season we would of made playoffs, we would of been beat in them i reckon but would of been better. We need a left back if to shut me up more than anything else.

Agree0 Disagree3

11 Jul 2017 11:28:11
Yes, the reason we did not make the playoffs was because Berardi was playing at left back instead of Taylor. Nothing to do with not changing formation or the players within it as teams had worked us out. Nothing to do with not investing in the January window with an additional striker. Please Leeds get a left back a.s.a.p

Agree4 Disagree0

11 Jul 2017 11:33:54
We didn't make the playoffs, as Monk wanted us to play for 0-0 draws and scrape 1-0 wins rather than go for it.

Also very important is who we get to partner Pontus. The partnership last year was immense.

Agree notts and sg. Load of dribble bw. Your blind when it comes to berahdi. He ain't as good as taylor skill wise but wipes the floor with him fitness and determination and flexibilty. If he cost us 1 pount last season. Youd be lucky.

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Jul 2017 15:08:59
cost us first goal against hudds at 0-0 so that is 2 straight off the bat. it is not about him being our main problem last season it is about players like him and douk not being good enough to be part of a promotion team. CB and LB needed as currenty squad does not have the quality to gain promotion, in every other area i'm happy although manager reserves judgement so will give him a chance, belluchi, douk, and beridi on the left are ok for a champ team looking to stay up not go up, could say the same about murphy, slivestri but they have been replaced

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Jul 2017 00:24:03
What about wood hitting a drought when it mattered Pontus getting suspended and throwing a wobbly
Bridcutts manic habit of passing back
Monk being monk
All contributors to countless points and no play off.

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Jul 2017 01:33:58
For the few out there being negative. Consider this. I don't think players like Bridcutt. Sacko. Hernan. Dallas. Roofe. Douk. Etc etc Were good enough last season However. If rumours are true jc dissected all our players strengths and weakness, therefore he could quite possibly be willing to work with them and try and improve them. And all the above players were only a little bit off the mark so it wouldn't take a lot to improve them to an acceptable standard Now, suppose he has done exactly the same thing with the players he is buying. They might not be $15-$20 mill players now but might not need tweeking too much. Bottom line is. let's see. let's give them a chance!

11 Jul 2017 07:23:04
Agreed, let's be positive. Keep your powder dry until after the first few league games. Until then we are training and working things out (even the first few games will be ironing out the creases) . I think the approach thus far is positive:
1 We have the ground back. 2. We are not just off loading to bring in new players. 3. The pre season tour is challenging enough to give TC some idea but not too challenging to cause damage physically. It seems we have an overall 'whole' approach and I am getting a good vibe. Very excited about this season and we are weeks ahead of where we were last year. All good so far. MOT
