Seen a lot of rumours about smithy but i wouldnt want him to be fair and if he did come back i would rather him be a forward, he might work hard in midfield but that should be a given. Alex Ferguson played him there and he did ok but hes a forward imo. If he was desperate to come back he would be here by now, hes not short of a few quid so wage shouldnt be a problem when you are set for life, and we would probably pay him around 10k a week, i get 12k a year and i manage ok. We defo need a cm tho and a cb obviously, please not another loan tho SG. MOT.

Believable1 Unbelievable10

A loan will do if he's good enough. Just please NOT Alan Smith, not for any position on the pitch. He can come back and be a ball-boy or make the tea if he wants.

Agree11 Disagree4

He won't even return to the stands at eland road never mind on the pitch

3 more new players 1cb 1cm 1sf we be there end of the season.

If smithy came back he would be another reason why I love to go watch Leeds!

Believable5 Unbelievable10

If we are talking ex-players I would rather have either Lennon or Milner back. Smith is finished....leave it alone and change the blooming record.

Agree4 Disagree0

Excellent second post! Smith has never been anywhere near the player that James Milner is now.

Not a rumor but if we dont sign anyone decent can we please back SG and start bates out chants again he is the one giving the budgets not SGs fault he s only allowed to sigh poor quality players !!
MOT
GET THE CHELSEA OUT OF LEEDS !!

Believable3 Unbelievable12

And create a bad atmosphere at ER which brings around bad performances?

Agree9 Disagree4

All the people chanting anti-Bates stuff at Elland Road during games ARE complete morons! You're more than welcome to disagree with the running of the club, protest outside or even write Ken a letter/e-mail (if you can write). However, when the team is on the pitch get behind them, sing for them, maybe give the opposition some stick, but do not bring negativity to our players. Time to remember what being a true Leeds fan is all about!

Agree7 Disagree2

Who decides if they are decent? Is it a majority vote? Personally I don't think either Andrews or Clingan are particulary better than what we have, but people on here seem to think they are the answer to all questions at leeds. Would I have to protest on my own in that case, or just follow the crowd like a sheep?
Neither mind, protesting is pointless unless anyway. Creates negativity and despite that Bates is the owner anyway so all the chanting in the world won't magic up a new buyer.

Agree1 Disagree1

If a chant about the chairman makes the team play worse, then the players are sh*t. If the CEO came in and slagged of the manager in a place of work would that make all the people below perform badly? BELT UP, why should people put up with a pathetic money grabbing parasite like him? Could it be that the players are very average and don't have the ability to actually do what their meant to do and your looking for an excuse? Are you indoctrinated into believing bates saved our club?

Agree1 Disagree2

The more ppl moan about bates the more he wants to stay ,its the way he roles.

My mate's uncle has a neighbour who knows a bloke that works at B&Q:

Apparently Ken Bates has just been spotted in the Garden section - No more player signings this transfer window, but a nice new shrubbery for the Car Parking Area.

He also bought a couple of Yukkas, probably for the director's boxes.

Andy O'Brien was in there too holding a trowel, looks like they've come to a compromise on his contract. FACT

Believable4 Unbelievable4

Was he ion the Gnome section.

Agree2 Disagree0

When he starts renting goldfish, then we'll be in trouble...

I wonder who this player was that bates was on about that was ment to be leaving the club but it fell through my guess it was brain dead obrien

Believable4 Unbelievable0

11 Jan 2012 22:35:31
There's plenty of cb out there we dont need another obrien in st ledger now do we he's a big baby and thinks he is bigger than the club adrian marriapa watford, alex pearce reading, luke chambers notts forest, martin crainie coventry city, garry kenneth dundee united matthew bates borough

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Marriapa would be a quality signing, I live in Watford and see him play all the time and all ways seems to play well

Agree1 Disagree0

St ledger is MUCH better than o'brien, used to give his all for PNE when he played for them

11 Jan 2012 22:25:43
Just read Ken Bates interview on NEWSNOW on the Leeds section and he says that we have been offered Puncheon, but said no after the way he treated us on transfer deadline day. I agree with the old man and before you say wouldnt I go to a prem league club instead, my answer is no after he had an agreement to join us but went behind the clubs back to see what QPR were offering. We all no how that worked out down there!! Where is the Loyalty! Enjoy your new club Puncheon, maybe Doncaster will take you!

MOT

Believable4 Unbelievable2

Puncheon put some interesting comments on twitter last night. Made his bed as far as I'm concerned!

Watched a bit of Robbie ( Buck ) Rogers. He looks like he could be fairly reasonable on a free. He is fairly rapid, left sided and can probably improve. He is not overly skillfull, but can go past people with pace. I dont think he will score an awful lot of goals. He doesn't cut inside, prefers to stick to the touchline. The best thing about him is his passing and delivery. They both look very good for championship level. He is considered and picks out an intelligent pass, and the crossing is accurate. Could benefit Luciano. He is on a freebie, lets hope he turns out to be a shrewd signing. Does make me think that if we get an acceptable offer for Snodgrass he will be going.

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Sounds exactly like Eddie Legend Lewis

Agree0 Disagree1

Just need a goot target man now then.

Believable6 Unbelievable2

11 Jan 2012 17:47:00
after failing to sign him in the summer, grayson will again turn his attention to former republic of ireland striker barry conlon, as he is available on a free transfer and is looking to return to england after spending time at a belgian club.

Believable1 Unbelievable4

The same Barry Conlon that is 33 years old and played for 14 different clubs and well past his sell by date..you having a Laff.

Agree2 Disagree0

Who knows could happen with Leeds!.

Barry conlon? u still playing champ manager?

11 Jan 2012 17:35:32
Leeds should sign former blackburn utility player brett emerton from sydney fc

Believable2 Unbelievable4

Too slow we need pace we have target men

Agree2 Disagree0

He's a right back, yes i'd have him. sign proven players for that push to the Premiership. {Ed003's Note - He moved back to Oz because his family was homesick,so it wont happen }

Agree0 Disagree1

Didn't we nearly sign him back in the Premiership days?!

Agree1 Disagree0

11 Jan 2012 17:31:51
A player called borges from fredrikstad fk is apparently on trial with the club also he is an a attacking midfielder age 22 and also a costa rican international so sounds a promising player

Believable1 Unbelievable0

He signed at beginning of the month on a three year contract with the Swedish football club AIK, for a free transfer. Not a bad player but current ability is lg2 maybe lg1 at best.

Agree0 Disagree0

What is his frist name

Agree0 Disagree0

Celso Borges def not coming to leeds

11 Jan 2012 17:26:52
Who ever says alan smith is coming back should slap themselves in the face and wake up we dont need him we have moved on and so should you

to many wingers snoody going 5.30-11.00 on the 31st jan believe me please

Believable0 Unbelievable4

Snodgrass (injured), Townsend (loan), White (also plays left back), Pugh (also plays centre midfield or left back), Sam, Rogers. doesn't look like too many to me.

Agree2 Disagree0

Can you please explain LLoyd Sam, Snodgrass, Robbie Rogers and a loan player Andros Townsend thats 4 wingers, the other midfield players are Nunez CAM or Support Striker, Vayrynen CM, Brown DFM, Howson CM, Clayton CM, Pugh LB, DFM LM.

The problem with Leeds is that we lack quality Def midfield players and 2 controlling CB's, Robbie Rogers and Snodgrass will work well with Clayton and Howson, and Vayrynen is learning the English game he will come good.

Leeds need to get rid of the following Brown, Kisnorbo, O’Brien, Parker, Bromby, Forsell, and sign a quality pacey striker who knows where the goal is.

Agree1 Disagree1

Snoody playing against palace mate

Agree0 Disagree1

The goal is at the end of the pitch at either side, i know where it is, doesnt make me an amazing striker

Agree2 Disagree0

Good comment, we defo need quality in def mid, would help our young def out a lot

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Jan 2012 16:45:34
To everyone saying they are worried about the future of snodgrass... dont forget townsend is only on loan and could be called back to spurs at any time so rogers will be a backup incase this happens or he gets injured everyone needs to stop being so negative and think about the situation before putting stupid comments! In Grayson I trust and you should too!

Believable2 Unbelievable0

I must say it is quite strange,That so far we have only signed wingers, When really we should have signed a defender from day one. This just makes me wonder if snoddy could be going to cover for other positions?

Agree1 Disagree0

All i read on here is how we haven't replaced gradel, sign and attacking winger and the paranoids start bleating about snodgrass being sold. Lets give rogers a chance. Snodgrass is injured, townsend will do a job until rogers settles. Have a day off moaning please people!

Agree1 Disagree0

Plus this frees up Pugh to play RB an add more experience good signing again

Agree0 Disagree1

11 Jan 2012 16:32:44
been watching r rogers on you tube reminds me of harry kewel hope he as good

Believable1 Unbelievable2

Who? We don't say that name round here anymore, it's dirty, please don't use it

Agree2 Disagree1

You were doing ok there till you mentioned he whose name should never appear on a Leeds site

Agree2 Disagree1

I think that Australian player makes my stomach turn more than any other.

Agree1 Disagree1

Woulda rather of read another smithy line....

Agree0 Disagree0

To be fair, they didn't actually put that person's name, they spelled it wrong (possibly on purpose?!)

Your all saying rogers is crap because you havent seen him play. He played against england in the world cup if you dont remmeber and he ran the defence ragged. Came on in the second half.

Believable3 Unbelievable1

11 Jan 2012 16:05:34
Grayson to move snodgrass to a free role in the middle with rogers and Townsend on the wings.

Believable7 Unbelievable2

11 Jan 2012 13:48:57
Me personallly hope rogers gets his work permit. I know its only YouTube videos but he looks like he can take on a player and has scored some decent goals even for the usa. Obviously had him on trial so must see something in him. M.o.t

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Only reason we are getting him because hes free!!

Agree3 Disagree1

And he's a winger ,Grayson we need a defence !!!

Good moaning.

Agree1 Disagree0

Wrong position for what we need at the end of the day.

Agree1 Disagree1

11 Jan 2012 12:30:49
in my opinion when we played arsenal, we lagged a lot of experiance at the back, especially with henrys goal, zac thompson is too inexperianced and wasnt playing his natural postion, for me i feel we need a new right back, and for me possibly a faster more experienced defender, becuase whenever leeds play against a fast striker we cant simply mark them and they make us look stupid to be honest, so i think for now they should be graysons main priorties.

Believable4 Unbelievable4

He IS a right back this is whats annoying me, it is his natural position, and for the henry goal we had alex song playing the ball who is a different class in the arsenal midfield and we need to start playing some youngsters they have got to start somehwere havent they, hes done very well so far so more of the same

Agree0 Disagree1

I agree with your thoughts about needing pace at the back, but with regard to the Henry goal if you looked at the video it was the left back who hadn't pushed up in line with everyone else and so played Henry onside. Maybe we were a bit flat footed but it was a class ball played through for Henry to run on to. Zac is doing well and will learn from playing there (keep up the good work Zac).

I agree, we we need an organiser at CB who has pace...I just don't know who that person might be or where we're going to get him from...if you had one you are not going to let them go are you, unless he's coming from the lower leagues

Agree0 Disagree0

I disagree, RB is Thompsons natural position, maybe he just needs a few games, hes been playing well recently and he has potential, could turn out like aidy white

Agree1 Disagree2

How can our young defence get more experienced by not playing, doesn't matter what age there are, their young yes but get these young lads playing together every week they will form a bond playing with each other instead of chopping and changing every week, how can they do any worse than the other defenders we have? They could become legends for the club, you never know, so I'd be happy if simon stuck with playing Thompson lees and White together every week

Agree1 Disagree0

I agree so long as thompson plays in his natural position.

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Jan 2012 11:34:16
we dont have the biggest wage bill as it is and certainly dont have the funds which we all wud like or possibly need to mount a serious promotion challenge so why? why? why? are we wasting a wage and a contract on a winger whos been playin in no disrespect a poor level of football when we desperately need defenders! and a centre mid?

Believable1 Unbelievable4

Stop bloody moaning and give the lad a chance! I bet you moaned when we signed Somma and Gradel. Get a life.

Agree5 Disagree2

I just hope this isn't making way for Snodgrass ADW

Agree0 Disagree1

We need good defenders/holding midfield general not wingers, this seems to be our transfer policy sign anyone who's free and not play them most of the time,ie nunez, somma[when fit],it stinks, bates says we have a budget but yet we waste it on players we don't need.

Agree2 Disagree1

11 Jan 2012 11:07:44
whoever says thompson played henry onside is clearly taking Stevie Wonders word for it, cameras show White playing him on, blaming a 19 year old lad in his 3rd game for the club against one of the best players of all time even at 34 is disgusting, hes done very well so far and lets hope he stays in that position, we need another good youngster making a name for himself in defence so can help us build, Leesy and White have done very well in defence for us aswell, lets hope Gimpel can get some playing time in the near future

Believable8 Unbelievable0

11 Jan 2012 10:22:11
i would like leeds fans to start singing some new songs at games all getting too predictable we were allways the loudest and proudest dont seem the same lately so come on lads crystal palace last night was deffening does anyone agree or is it just me and yes i do go to games and i am not going deff

Believable5 Unbelievable3

Just seriosly bored now it's the wilderness years so get used to it , limping on together !

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Jan 2012 09:21:14
yes it does look like robbie rogers coming to leeds and yes we need to give him a chance.but ive read the mls website ref him.he was at columbus crew but his form dipped rapidly and he couldnt get in there team, also he may have a work permit problem as hes played nowhere near the 75% of international games he needs.so he will have to appeal.suprised we have signed a winger really with townsend and snodgrass and even white if pushed forward.i wonder if the ultimate insult is on the way with the sale of snodgrass.i thought perhaps we would look at other areas of pitch first..shrew leeds

Believable1 Unbelievable2

11 Jan 2012 08:16:48
With this Roy Rodgers signing (joke) do we have more wingers than defenders now?

Leeds winger Snodgrass is set to leave Leeds to a Premier league club for around 7m {Ed045's Note - He won't go for any less than 12-14mil if he was to go.. which he won't.

-------------------------------------------------- this proves that all leeds fans live in dream land snodgrass 12 - 14 million the ed has bumped his head plenty of better wingers at a better price i think that 7 would be the maximum for him if your lucky to find a team stupid enough to pay you that much ! still smiling at this ha

Believable0 Unbelievable4

7 Million max. We won't get that much.

Agree1 Disagree1

Id take 7 million for snoddy, all day, obviously bates wouldnt re-invest it though which would be a shame we could do with that for a transfer budget

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Jan 2012 23:51:33
Robbie Rogers deal completed. Only thing standing in the way is a work permit which he will find difficult to secure. If Leeds can successfully appeal it, he'll be the latest addition.

Believable3 Unbelievable1

Is he any good. I know nothing about him.

Agree1 Disagree1

Robbie is only 24 he has played 18 times since 2009 the work permit should be easy to secure. He has also played for the u23's which counts towards his work permit as he was under 21 at the time when he played for them.

Leeds wouldn't have brought him on trial if there were any fears over securing a work permit.

Agree1 Disagree0

10 Jan 2012 23:29:20
Just a quick one, where will Danny Pugh get in the side once everyone is fit,i presume the wingers will be snodders and townsend, clayton and howson in the centre and white at left back...i presume we are in the market for a centre midfield player so even if we play 451 i think he will struggle to get in the side..any thoughts?

Believable1 Unbelievable1

I think White may leave and Pugh will be left back. Shame if he does go though

Agree0 Disagree0

His position will be left back on the bench!

MOT

Agree0 Disagree1

Great utility player so probs on the bench as he can cover 3 different positions

Agree1 Disagree0

Left back. White will be off due to contract dithering (as usual) and his head has been turned

Agree0 Disagree2

There will always be injuries and suspended players, so on that basis as a squad player he is a good addition.

Agree1 Disagree1

I think that Pugh could be our holding midfield player.

Agree1 Disagree2

On his performance at arsenal i wouldnt sign him, he was poor.needs a few more years at leeds

Agree1 Disagree1

Are you for real? he was poor? i thought he did very well against arsenal .
