Id take Hunt anyday over the look at my boots all the time Poleon. OK Hunt hasn't done what he can because of injuries and so but he can play. But as usual us Leeds fans always need a scapegoat. I guarantee Poleon will be league 2 at best in the near future and maybe even non league. he can't play! Just because he's home grown some folk seem to think he deserves a chance, Why? Nothing against the boy but he's a headless chicken with no football brain whatsover. i'd like to be proved wrong and he turns out like Tony Yeboah but somehow I doubt it! Anyway keep the faith lads. you never know! MOT.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

As much as I would like to agree I just can't cause Poleon is younger and has lots to learn but has lots of time, hunt has had more game time in his leeds life but yet poleon has less and he scores more so I take to headless chicken over hunt. Hunt maybe have injures but poleon is better

Agree0 Disagree0

"OK Hunt hasn't done what he can because of injuries and so but he can play"

So when is he going to start doing so?

"I guarantee Poleon will be league 2 at best in the near future and maybe even non league. he can't play!"

How can you 'guarantee' anything of the kind? We have no idea what he is capable of in the future?

I notice you don't 'guarantee' Hunt will do anything useful?

Like most fans I am trying to be positive and optimistic, but we need serious changes to the players who have done nothing under Warnock and McDermott and we now have a totally inexperienced coach thinking he can turn them into something different?

Agree0 Disagree0

Cork
Hunt can play but we need to see it and SOON, as for Poleon being home grown as given him time and patience with the fans but in my opinion all he's got is pace.

Agree0 Disagree0

Poleon lifted the team even if he was headless chicken. He got belief into team
Only thing. Hunt morrison and to a certain extent smith can lift is their own boots and wage packet!
Pace makes a difference cause it scares opponents and u can't defend against it. Poleon as a mental diff to a team will be an asset!

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Aug 2014 15:31:29
agree about poleon pace and that's about it.as for hunt think we flogging a dead horse there, was useful once not now.we need quality replacements desperately as we all know.

Agree0 Disagree0

"as for hunt think we flogging a dead horse"

I think that's quite an insult to dead horses, but if we could flog Hunt I might change my mind.

. who'd be daft enough to buy him?

See Wolves have had a bid accepted for Chris wood, he's in the final yr of his contract so I presume the fee will be affordable, we could do with someone like him and maybe someone like Jacob butterfield for the midfield -apparently available for 750k. couple of decent signings like that would give everyone a big lift

Sell your top scorer, fine if he wants to go. Leave your second top scorer on the bench? Madness!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

11 Aug 2014 22:36:23
I will wait till I hear it officially but if Poleon has jumped ship because he has been told he does not feature in current plans, then fair play! Seems a shame as he has never truly been given a chance! Looks like one in -one out rule if the plan to give Ranger a contract. Bet he gets snaffled up by Blackpool and sticks it to us - wouldn't blame him!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

It was only last week we were saying Poleon has no football head, too selfish and can not read a game. Yes it is a shame that he came through the accadamy and a shame he has gone but he was never going to cut the mustard imo

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Aug 2014 23:21:43
As I said he never really had a chance - look at what he had to deal with last season and so far this season - different positions and ten minutes here and there - much better stats when on loan - lower league but at least he knew what was expected! No wonder the lad was confused! Let's face it we all are! I don't know when we last played the same 11 on two games on the bounce! And that's not an invite to play the same 11 tomorrow (lol).

I see U21s had a good win against Leicester U21s at the w/end, I would like to see more of them (u21s) in the Championship than donkeys and wasters! mot.

Cellino is pulling all the strings, Hock is in to coach. It`s difficult to believe MC has experience in football at this point as this is not being seen on the pitch, in transfer market, or keeping best players.
Why are our best players being allowed to leave? Are they being frozen out, it does not make sense.
Why do we not chase and sign any players who are well known?
What`s going on with delay in tickets being delivered?
Bennito Carbone probably pointed out some home truths like MCs plan is seriously flawed and was rewarded by being sent packing!
Is there any evidence our fantastic scout and deal maker is what he is claimed to be, on the evidence so far he is sh?te.

Yours, feeling like we are being fed horse dung once more!

Happy days huh! yes I will completely contradict myself should we win our next half dozen games convincingly without conceding a single goal.

Agree0 Disagree0

Northumberland TOTALLY disagree.

Who says MC is feeding us dung?
Who says his transfer dealings are S***e (weve had 1 very POOR game) and your saying his tranfers are *****
We chased well known players before with everyone on here shouting get kebe, stewart, 2 great wingers ummm!

IM NOT happy with our performance so far and dealings within the transfer market but BAD MOUTHING the new owner who saved us from admin is out of order.

Conor Wickham looking to leave Sunderland. West Ham have had a £4 million bid turned down, why don't leeds try and sign him? Surely we can use some of the £11 million from McCormack to buy him.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

He's worth way more than 4! Assambolonga went for 5. I think they'll be holding out for 8/9. Too much for us I feel. Would like him here though

Agree0 Disagree0

He's in last year of contract, doubt he would be mega expensive.According to Sunderland fans he is after more money than they are paying him.So that's us screwed then

Agree0 Disagree0

He's a rubbish winger

Some very naive comments regarding Hockaday. When Aidy Boothroyd was at his zenith, he openly praised Hockaday, when they split, Boothroyd went straight to zero. He's not got any new centre backs, no new holding midfielders and no new quality up front, all was promised.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Hockaday played practically the whole team that were so poor last season, (but then he was obviously never around to see the dire shambles of that). HE is the naive one to think that without McCormack they were going to change into a much improved team?

I am trying to be optimistic here, but when you leave Smith and Poleon out of the starting line up and see how we played the first half on saturday it's no wonder we were down at half time, fortunately only by one goal?

What the hell has Hunt done to justify even being in the team, let alone on the pitch at the start?

We have youngsters in the team who want to play, why were they not included?

Sorry, but Hockaday is the naive one here, not those of us who are already realising that if something drastic isn't done we seriously will be fighting a relegation battle come xmas.

There are rumours floating round that Poleon has gone, I hope they are not true, but after being left on the bench for most of the last game in favour of last seasons misfits I won't be surprised.

Lees has gone, Byram looks like he's being shipped out, who next?
Colin was one of the worst managers I've ever seen at Elland Road, but I think Hockaday is fast coming catching him up.

Agree0 Disagree0

One game gone and it's the end of the world.
Had we have won I bet you would be calling for Hockaday to be knighted.
If we are no better in 5 or 6 games I will join you, but it's a bit early yet to for this doom and gloom

Agree0 Disagree0

"If we are no better in 5 or 6 games I will join you, but it's a bit early yet to for this doom and gloom"

it is early, I grant you, but most of the starting 11 on saturday were the players who already played most of last season, less the one who scored all the goals, doesn't that set alarm bells ringing?

I would give Hockaday credit if it was due, but so far all he's done is copy the same team from last season and put new players in where he's had to and feels duty bound to include a new player from Peterborough who has never played alongside any of them?

Agree0 Disagree0

Leeds
Agree but who is Hock going to pick?
That's the trouble with being a coach, your given players to coach and the hock hasn't been given the players yet.
I'm not saying he's good enough just saying if he plays youth they will get slaughtered, yes some good young lads coming through but there a season away from championship.
Hes got NO sqaud to work with at the moment.

Agree0 Disagree0

Give him few more matches few new players to come in. We knew it was going to be a hard slog but we had to get the clubs money problems resolved which he has done and he has said by the end of the month he will have more players in, I do have faith in mc I know this season we will not go up mid table build for the future.Looking forward to the three home matches just hope we don't get on the backs of the players and the coach give him a chance. Well I'm ready for the bumpy ride, got tickets for the 3 up and coming home games, just lacking my members card, anyone received one yet?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed013's Note - My kids came today, but no letter regarding the season ticket!}

Not got my membership either, I got told they would all be sent out 2 weeks before out first home match. But with our first home game 4 day's away, I still have no membership

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes Andy, mine turned up today, in time for the journey up tomorrow. I just hope the players can be bothered to turn up! MOT

I think MC is doing a good job stabilising the club financially. I think The Hock is probably a good Coach of football skills. My issue is that MC is very charismatic, good at getting the deals yet a bit of a volatile fruit & nut. "It's my way or the highway"! I think he is good for Leeds. The Hock is a good football coach (my son has been trained by him), he knows football skills. My concern is does either of them know how to get the players minds ready? Liverpool have a guy called Dr Steve Peters who is a performance psychologist who has worked with the likes of Sir Chris Hoy ETC. Another good guy is Dan Abraham. Can either of them create mental confidence? 90% of sport is in the mindset. Anyway still excited about the future.MOT

Believable0 Unbelievable0

11 Aug 2014 22:50:01
Hock has coaching skills for players as individuals. He does not have tactical nous which means poor formation, tactics and defending. He also appears to be mentally irritating some of the players. I believe he will be gone this time next month.

just want to know how leeds fans are feeling, yes it is only one game in, a game many didn't see but think those who saw it have us going down or be there abouts. I understand people saying it is early, but the club only has two centre backs and one of them is wooten, my local pub team even has four centre backs. Hockaday is a joke, his record at forest green shows that, if not his comments after the game also prove this. Everything on Saturday was comical not even bad, it was funny how we couldn't mark or work out how to take a corner. Players won't play for hockaday, MC won't pay wages needed, squad is thin and our savour last year now wears a fulham shirt and the head coach is a embarrassment. I am ashamed to be leeds fan for the first time in 27 years. I like MC and his record in Italy deserves respect but hope he learns a lot before it is too late and I think he hired Hockaday as a fall guy while MC learnt the ropes. worried we need at least 6 players and hope we have a plan or fear we will go down and not even go down fighting. Anyone else feel like this or am I the only one. and if you are optomistic please state why as I need some hope from somewhere. Also Bryam seemed like he didn't want to play on Saturday. who would blame him if I was a footballer i'd want out of the joke that is leeds

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Bermondsey
I was at the match and ashamed by the performance of the team, I don't usually go to that many away matches but that's the worst performance I've ever seen.
No clue who was marking who from set pieces, NO idea on the pitch as to ANY formation and NO passion, don't know what hocks plan A was but plan B throw Smith up front and play long ball as if Hollaway didn't didnt see that one coming.
We know we are in a transitionional period with players in and out but ALL we asked for this year is commitment and passion and proud to wear our shirt.
YET AGAIN NONE WAS SEEN.
As for Byram personally I don't think his hearts been in Leeds for a while now, shame season before last he was outstanding.

I guess the only positive we can look at is if MC hadnt bought us when he did we would be on -15 or -25 points now depending on how the FL viewed us going into admin AGAIN ;(

Agree0 Disagree0

Good point I must say as negative as I feel at the moment I do believe in MC. Think he is a proper football man and his record at Calgai seems to back this up. Also think he is a stubborn man with arrogence and pride and these are good qualities for an owner as these will help us achieve in time. Can only think he has hired Hockaday as a fall guy while he works out his real plan and gets his players. just hope it doesn't cost us too dearly. Will happily have a bad season in order to get house in order just hope the house gets in order sooner rather than later. Living in Bermondsey I can see this is going to be a hard year for me, also getting married in May and coming to leeds for the stag do in April and hope we might look like a team who might be winning by then!

Agree0 Disagree0

3 home games could make or break Hockaday, no positives at all from the Millwall game, team and Hockaday have been rubbished from the media and fans, I'm all for rebuilding but not in Div1.

Agree0 Disagree0

Couldn't agree more with the above comments, players on Saturday didn't have a clue what the formation was & didn't play with ant passion. Hockaday & Lewis have been bought in to get rid of players that have any real value. Never in a million years will it work when a owner decides who we buy & then expects a coach to coach them & if they fail he sacks the coach, has he thought he might at times buy the wrong players. MC will do everything right off the pitch & put us in a good place, however he must put his trust in a coach & let them decide who we buy.

Agree0 Disagree0

"3 home games could make or break Hockaday, "

I hate to say this, but if Middlesborough hammer us at home on saturday I don't think there will be a third one.

That is always supposing Ackerington Stannnley don't cause the upset that might do the trick first.

I was hoping for a roller coaster ride this year, unfortunately I think it's going to be a donky derby at best.

Agree0 Disagree0

"Hockaday & Lewis have been bought in to get rid of players that have any real value"

That, my friend, is the only thing that they have done well, first McCormack, then Lees, next Byram and rumours are Poleon may already be gone, I seriously hope not.

I thought we were getting rid of the dead wood, unfortunately a lot of it is still playing and displacing the few talents we have got.

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Aug 2014 22:31:31
Weren't we all saying Lees and Poleon were not good enough last season? Were we not expecting Mcbadgekisser to move on after his January outburst? Can Byram cut it as a the Prem star he thinks he is after one good and one average season in the Championship? No player is bigger than the club, and I agree that things are still in transition at the club and this season might be a struggle,at least the likes of Byram will go for more than a tenner and a handshake ,or a fee and a Morison!

Agree0 Disagree0

Well said Vinny
People forget Mcbadgekisser wanted to go in jan and again last month. All the players that you mentioned were being slated by everyone on ere last season but you let em go and they moan lol

Funny old world

Agree0 Disagree0

Last season mcbadge kisser was bigger than the club he kept us up single handed and if not replaced he could go up while we go down. please remember our club is being made smaller by the person in charge. who would play for cockaday? it would seem our club are about as big as a local pub team at the moment just one with fantastic support, but support doesn't win matches if it did we would still be in champs league

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Aug 2014 17:10:36
what a load of twaddle bw, if I remember rightly there was 11 a side most games, without the other ten ross the toss would've been relegated, show some support

I'm beginning to think Cellino is mugging us all off, wants to stay in contact with the top of the table but signing average Italians and cheap options isent cutting it mate?
Speculate to accumulate. spend some money on proven championship players and stop saying everything is ok, but it ain't! We have been lied to far to many times

Believable0 Unbelievable0

11 Aug 2014 16:35:38
get a grip, its one game ffs, and how do you know they are 'average' Italians.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ref Christox.
Paper over the cracks all u like mate, we are poor, same as last season.
This place is for opions. just saying!!

Agree0 Disagree0

"how do you know they are 'average' Italians"

er, had you ever heard of any single one of them, or even Cagliari before MC turned up at Elland Road then?

The ones that do seem to have anything to offer are the ones who turn us down as soon as they come over and see what the set up is, and who can blame them?

Agree0 Disagree0

Seriously they play in Italy's div 2, they ain't going to be setting our league alight?

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Aug 2014 17:18:40
yes i'd heard of them all , and who hasn't heard of cagliari?, you by the sound of it, 'longtime' , get off
you're sofa and go to a game or two, essex, we are in the old 2nd div, about to buy a 3rd div player, I suppose he's no good either

Agree0 Disagree0

Erm, Essex lad, we're 2nd division. Below average 2nd division at that.you telling me that this lot can be worse than varney peltier lees zaliukas and pugh?

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Aug 2014 11:13:36
Signing billy sharp, Glenn Murray and a CB would easily put us in the top 6 by the end of the year

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Your joking right?

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Aug 2014 12:41:49
Based on the record of both strikers they would be good signings but I can't see them coming. Considering Salermo is doing recruitment and I doubt cellino would pay the reported fee of 3 million for Murray considering his age and he is not good enough for the premier league.
I actually trust them with the players they are trying to get in but the two best players viviani and Sorensen deals fell through. I hope they can actually get the best players to sign up not just get them at elland road to then walk out

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree, both know the championship inside out, unlike our cheap Italians

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah, its all down to the cheap Italians, even though there was only one on the pitch on Saturday. Silvestri who saved our bacon again & again. and before you say it Doukara is not Italian but French/Senegalese. It was our 'experienced' championship players who let us down. again. in fact apart from one or two changes it looked like same old, same old to me.

Agree0 Disagree0

Need a good midfielder as well someone like batty or ince unless austin imporves once our new boys in midfield get into the team. love to see chris woods come to leeds.

Agree0 Disagree0

Will bet my Leeds rumours account that a cheap Italian will be our stand out player tomorrow night .

Agree0 Disagree0

11 Aug 2014 10:49:22
I have to really mirror the thoughts of many. I like the fact we got rid of a load of dead wood. I like the idea of the players we have brought in, but they really to me are squad players and we need probably 3 experienced good quality players to build the spine of a team. Surely after being so awful at the back last season this is a priority yet we played same defence, and mainly same team except no McCormack up front and no experienced coach. It's a recipe for disaster at moment .

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Why are we blaming the italians only two played on Saturday and both of them did alright is only the first game l remember when we got beat 5-2 at home by Newcastle in our first game of the season but went on to win the league to much doom and loom on this site at the moment give the lads a chance MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

But when we lost to newcastle they were also a team going for the title not mid table at best millwall also we had the great howard wilkinson in charge not the joke cockaday. Look at that team, strachan, speed and batty coming though, chapman signed half way through, faircoulgh, vinnie jones. this team has no name you can mention in the same breath as the old great that got us up

Agree0 Disagree0

Kentwhite, you can't keep giving Austin, Warnock, Wootton, Hunt and Tonge chance after chance they weren't good enough last season, oh and the 5-2 defeat by Newcastle was at St' James.
