all these old players applying for job. when is alan smith going to apply? need a new smith roumour first window I think without it if I am not mistaken

Jermain Beckford and Becchio are also in the running as joint managers. Fitzy said Snodgrass was seen coaching something at thorp arch this morning.

Joking aside, we need someone with experience and no ex Leeds players

Fredh

Bang on NO ex Leeds players please

Think MC is 100% correct in that we need a coach not a manager - where he is wrong is that we need a recognised coach and then leave him alone to do the job

Not bad to say a few people 10 days ago said who will want to come and coach us now?

Agree0 Disagree0

True Andy, I guess having too many to choose from is a nicer problem for MC to have than just one or two poor candidates. I think there's a few he could disregard fairly swiftly, but he must have a decent shortlist of at least half a dozen by now. Let's hope he makes the right choice.

Agree0 Disagree0

Dont be silly. who would want to coach us now. most people MC hired 32 coaches so getting coaches is not the problem and never has been and never will be its keeping them that seems harder.

DJ Campbell just been on ssn and looking for a new club could do a job for us what do you think?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I guess the question needs to be asked how many strikers do you want?

The internationals are now out of the way. Provided a good chance for all our new players to get to know each other but speaking of new players and the internationals it crossed my mind to put a big recommendation up here. Conor McLaughlin, right back for Northern Ireland was awesome against Hungary. He is at Lge 1 Fleetwood town and should be a very cheep buy but would be an amazing addition to our squad. He was fantastic going forward and skinned the Hungarians several times. With Byram and McLaughlin we would have bags of pace and skill on the right and good defending qualities as well. 23 years old. Made some local enquiries in N Ireland. All the football folks rate him very highly. Somebody needs to pass this to MC before the rest of the world catch on.

Merchant Banker!

If the judge findings don't rule in favour of MC and close this FL Debacle once and for all - I have a feeling this will go on and on as MC will not lie down

The FL and SH in particular are an absolute joke

The Txxt is working his socks off to damage Leeds as he always did.

BREAKING; The football league and Shaun Harvey are indeed corrupt.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Looks that way, why is he talking about something that may not happen, why are the press all picking it up? Looks like someone on the inside knows something and has an agenda.

IF this all kicks off I think the courts will be busy for quite some time with MC fighting all the way.

Must be precedents in the FL of owners/directors not being treated in the same way.

Rollercoasters on and off the pitch, just another day in the life of a leed fan.

Agree0 Disagree0

So the players are getting paid each month & ownership of the club is not hidden in numerous off shore companies. One of England's premier clubs is looking quite stable and all our dirty washing is not been played out in the media each day. That must be a good thing for the Football League Brand?
Sometimes in life you are wrong and it's time the football league stopped behaving like children and moved on. Blackpool, Birmingham have problems, they need help which would appear to me to be far more important.
If Cellinos children are not allowed to run Leeds if he is barred, how can Shaun Harvey work for the FL in place of Ken Bates as it seems that Ken really does not want to sell Elland Road and is using all his influence to stop that happening.

Agree0 Disagree0

Unfortunately guys we have to accept that the Football League will not let this go, they were made to look inept by the successful appeal and will welcome any opportunity that is detrimental to Leeds. We also have to accept that the press revel in rubbishing Leeds, unbelievable really its been a witch hunt since the January transfer window

Think someone should start delving deep into Harveys connections with our club. Strange how he always goes public with his thoughts on what could happen at Leeds Should that not be a private issue until the judgement is released. He seems to put it out there to cause unrest and I am sure he is still connected to Bates and what he is doing is using his position to influence other matters related to our club which I am sure would be a breach of his contract. Hoping Massimo sorts this guy out once and for all, horses heads come to mind.

The UK Footbal authorities demonstrate amazing inconsistency in how they approach their assessment of who/what's appropriate in relation to involvement in the sport they govern.

Nobody is commenting on Barclay's Bank, the cases that they have settled out of court regarding Interest Rate manipulation and the fines of hundreds of millions paid to settle allegations. yet their sponsorship money is ok and while coming from bank profits that may have been inflated due to manipulation of interest rates is not based in any small way on "an act of dishonesty"?

This would appear not to be an "act of dishonesty" therefore, other owners of clubs in the UK have other charges found against them, but no officer of any of the UK football authorities makes comment in the specific cases.

Shaun Harvey seems to demonstrate a pettiness, a lack of impartiality and some very poor judgement in his recent comments about Cellino and Leeds.

Just beat Birmingham and f**K him

Just read the best thread ever. Kebabman and the scouser ed001. Hilarious! Them pool fans are more touchy than us Whites! Hope you are still overseeing ed001, because if you are. Henderson is a very good player.
7.5/10, maybe an eight. But he is no superstar as you seem to think. He came on a bundle last 18 months after a fairly poor previous twelve but i'd take Delph anyday of the week. Much more dynamic and twice the skill. Anyway not a bad partnership for England, don't you think?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - that is just bias talking, Delph is crap and I never said Hendo was a superstar, I said he was vital to Liverpool. The best players in a team are not the superstars, they are just the ones the fans fawn over. Delph is one of the most average players in the Prem, he is inconsistent, his passing is awful, his tackling is reckless, his heading is useless, he has no positional sense, no idea of when and where to move, and his touch goes from sublime one minute to complete donkey within seconds. He clearly has mental issues, he can't use his brain at all. Reminds me of Glenn Johnson, the ability is there, but not the mental attitude or aptitude to use it. Though Delph at least runs around a lot to make himself look good for people who don't understand the game. If he gets a good coach, who can teach him the tactical side of the game, and he gets a decent sports psychologist, who stops him launching into those vile knee high studs showing challenges every game and makes him focus, then yes he could be excellent. But right now he is not a good player, just a potentially good player. As for touchy, no, just bored of people talking crap about a player they have never actually watched outside of MOTD but seem to think they are experts on.}

Cork
Delph SHOULD be as good as Henderson, he's had I'm guessing 4yrs at Villa and until last 6 months not really done anything.
I thought Delph would set the premiership alight, I was more upset when he left than I was when snoddy, Johnson, Becchio or any of the others left.
Sadly he's ONLY just starting to show what he can do with a long way to go yet.

Agree0 Disagree0

Come on Ed, I know us Leeds fans can be biased towards our players/ex players, but you are far more bias regarding Hendo!
He is good, no doubt, but not as good as I think you believe with your red tinted glasses on.
If he was such a vital team player and the best box to box midfielder in the English leagues, why has no team come in for him in the transfer season? Surely the top 4 teams would be looking at him instead of players like Arturo Vidal for £42m. I am sure they could pick Hendo up for £8m max?
Just my opinion though

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - sorry but utter crap, not an opinion, just idiocy. Liverpool paid 15.6m and you think they would sell him for 8? Don't waste my time with this crap. If you want to think no one would take him, think what you like, just like when you all thought Rossy loved you but was busy trying to get away.}

Ed001 thanks for the great replys mate. Just one thing. You say at the start that Delph is crap but go on to say he could be excellent?! Maybe if he was coached by Rodgers and not his current coaches is what you are getting at I think. He has always been a very good player but injuries have held him back and last season and this he is showing is worth, although I do agree he has to calm down his tackling.
One thing England have been missing in recent years is pace and energy in midfield. As good as Gerrard, Lampard, Carrick and Barry have been they were fairly pedestrian and teams with pace through the middle could steamroller them. Just my opinion, just as my thinking that Delph is a alround player than Henderson.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - get him a good coach and I agree he would be great. Not saying Rodgers, just not Lambert, he is awful. I do agree, Delph's workrate and pace is a useful tool, but the best players know how to use it to best effect, he doesn't.}

Delph been injured for a while which has held him up. henderson is good delph is good. saying we are basis about delph is a bit like saying ed001 might be bit baisis and saying henderson more important than swauz if he was he would of gone barca for all the money and liverpool would not sturrggle this year like they will even with henderson (by stuggle I mean finish about 4-5 not challenge for title) ed 001 you mention we only watch match of the day but surly that is how you see delph as your at liverpool? we judge on motd footage and that is silly yet you judge on motd footage and your spot on? get this scouser out of town :)

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - I do these sites for a living mate, I watch every Prem game, not just MOTD. Suarez was better, but Hendo was more important. During Suarez's suspension, Liverpool had no issues winning. When Henderson was suspended at the end of the season, the whole team, including Suarez folded.}

This thread is cracking me up. 'get this scouser out of town' classic Bermondsey. The Pool fans are always easy to wind up as they, like us, are amongst the most passionate fans around! By the way Ed001 I agree with most of what you said about Henderson and Delph, except your original quote of Delph is 'crap' which you seem to have retracted.
However, if your honest, back in the summer and you had a choice of keeping Suarez or Henderson i'm pretty sure what your answer would of been! Anyway youve been a great Ed and I love the way you 'bite' at some remarks. Bet you are looking forward to going home, so to speak, to the rest of the scousers and you can all dream about winning the league. I hope you do by the way!
MOT my Liverpool friend.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - I would have never chosen Suarez over Henderson, I am on record as saying even before we bought him that he is more trouble than he is worth. Nothing I saw changed my mind. He was as disruptive as he was brilliant. Great to watch but better to watch when it is not affecting your team what he does.}

Ed001 knows what he is talking about - I read him all the time on the liverpool rumours site and he is very knowledgeable

Agree0 Disagree0

I was only playing ed001, lot of time for liverpool and there fans. again I do agree with everything apart from delph being crap (he is average at worse very good at best) and henderson over swauzres. henderson is great and them type of players are vital however swauzer is match winner and they do what they say on tin, win matches which is why they go for so much and are harder to replace. swauze is bat S@@t crazy and lots of trouble but class and wins games, I think henderson would be easier to replace. you could of brought delph. or like myself tried to coax carlton plamer (the black steven gerrard) out of retierment

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - the problem is that Suarez, while a match winner, was also just as likely to have an off day and miss hundreds of chances, or waste good opportunities to play in a team mate and blaze the ball into row Z from an impossible angle. There were a number of games Liverpool failed to win because he was awful. There was not one game last season that you could say that about Henderson, when he was on the pitch. He reminds me of Sammy Lee, not the greatest player in the world, but a desperately needed player because he allowed the best players to play to their best. Though Hendo is a better player than Lee ever was, just that their energy and will to win are similar.}
