after reading earlier posts i am going to bring up alan smith again. I know people are sick of readin the same things ova and ova but sum ppl need to use there heads. Firstly he has been a fantastic player throughout his career and without the bad injury he would be classed as 1 of the best in the prem, (my opinion) then theres the fact that he would cut off his balls for this club and to put him alongside howson we would have passion and heart in games. We need to forget he went to man utd, whether it was to help the club or to help himself, who cares. I for 1 would put smith 17 on my shirt this year as i am a true leeds fan and wil support any player that pulls on the shirt. I hope i am not alone on this as there seems to be 2 many ppl out there that are more botherd bout him being a judas and missing a valid point, he would be a fantastic addition to our squad.

FFS do you fancy him or what? We don't want him and he doesn't want to come anyway - he'd rather sit in the stands in Newcastle counting his money. We will sign better than him. You're having a laugh with "one of the best in the Prem" aren't you?

Its easy to say he'd be one of the best in the prem when their is no proof, when he was at his peek he wasnt a prolific goal scorer then, and he took a nosedive at man utd even ''before'' his injury. He hit his 'peek' early and it wasnt as 'great' as you claim, and wouldnt at all compete with other talents in the prem. Your speaking out of your rear.

Couldn't agree more with the above. He was vastly overrated before he even went to scum.

His time is over at the whites it was his last chance to return to ER and he won't due to £signs, we won't see him at the club ever again in a shirt. Some fans were open to the idea but the fact he is showing no interest at all in returning has made alot of fans realise what he's truly interested in and what hes about as a character and it isnt the love of the club/game which I thought Smithy was about its basically about £signs. We re a long way down the line with a couple of deals, he said. I d like to think that we ll have a couple of new players, if not more, for the Scotland trip.

Like all the fans, we want something to be happening. Ideally I d like to have all my players in place for the middle of next week but it doesn t always happen like that.

May be they should have started sooner, rather than assuming we'd land all our 'first choices' simply because of our 'name'

This is not a rumour, but true. Leeds will not sign anyone before the first game of the season at Southampton. We will then be walloped by the Saints and Grayson and Bates will then see the error of thier ways and rush out and sign 4 average loan players. Remember you heard it here first.

Does anyone happen to know where Leeds will be based in Scotland for their mini tour? I rang Toryglen in Glasgow this morning and it's not there. Tried St. Andrews after SG said we were using the same facilities as Barca and they were cagey and wanted to know who I was The only other place I can see fitting the bill is Ravenscraig which is close to Motherwell.I live in Edinburgh and am willing to travel to either place and see what I can see and hear what I can hear and hopefully report back to you guys with a bit of positive info In Grayson we trust MOT

On a serious note....MOT I might not approve of all of Grayson's transfer signings/loanees over the last couple of seasons and I'm no fan of Bates but I go to as many games as possible to support the team. Id love to go to Scotland but I'm working, I am off to the Newcastle game and I will go to Hull at home and away. We're not all armchair glory supporters honest

They are steadily increasing but lets not make out that their hardcore coach potatoes, anyone that hasnt jumped ship during our bad few season IS most definately a Leeds fan imo. Looks like a flip of a coin on lonergan and turner a lot of noises about danny gabbidon coming in aswell also I'd like to point out a lot of people have said it but its like having 3 new signings in paddy clayton and nunez need apart from the ones iv said about I still expect to see a left back and an experienced center mid player monty or smith

Not really a Rumour but Sunderland have announced that they are willing to let Kilgallon and Nosworthy leave and both would be fairly decent Leeds signings, and Kilgallon is a Leeds Lad

Paddy has signed a 2 year contract today. It's not a new player but the fact SG gave him 2 years suggests they are happy about his recovery and that makes him a massive signing and is the best news so far this summer MOT

The away shirt of Leeds United 2011/12 is supposed 2b black with yellow trim. If you would like a look at it go 2 the official Facebook page of LUFC its been posted on there and caused much debate
I think it's a bit like Marmite u'll either love it or hate it. Lloyd Sam mentioned that there would b something different about the away strip earlier this week
Still hoping the squad 4 Scotland will have at least 1 new face

Simon Grayson, Glyn Snodin and Mervyn Day have each been in full preseason training with a view to signing pay-per-play contracts. There have been major doubts over the fitness of all 3, especially Grayson after an operation on a long-standing knee injury, but we can expect appearances in Scotland this week as the trio continue to build towards the upcoming season. Simon Grayson said "I'm thrilled and excited at the prospect of playing again, as are Merv and Snods, and I'm delighted to have 3 players with such hunger and experience, who can push us towards the Premiership, at Leeds United. I am now happy with our current playing squad and we are no longer in the market for new players". Sky Sports will be hearing from their VERY HAPPY chairman Ken Bates later in the program.

SG is looking for season long loans, according to one article in the YEP. A bit risky if you ask me, as squads are reluctant to release players until after pre season. I don't see many incomings before the start of the season. I just hope we can keep hold of our bigger named players

He hasn't proven he's up to the standard of the Championship yet, so dont wet yourself to early
