kris boyd rumoured to be on way

Believable1 Unbelievable5

He is useless, remember watching him for boro at elland rd and realised how much he was out of his depth in the championship!

Agree2 Disagree1

No you daft git, its the initials KB ... its Ken Bates thats signining on a playing contract........... its a saving money policy

Agree0 Disagree0

Havent heard of any players were rumoured to be after who are better than what weve got,the team was better with Gradel,Beckford,Johnson etc than now, need quality, and they donnt come cheap.

I'm a Rangers fan as well as the Mighty Whites - but even *I* don't want to see him here LOL

Kirk Broadfoot to sign on loan before making it permanent next season OMG not known as Klubfoot for nothing!! O'Dear & Klubfoot in the same defence we're doomed.

Believable2 Unbelievable2

We need a defender who just kicks the ball away when needed, o'dear hasnt done too badly as people make him out, its paddy whos been the let down, poor lad

10 Jan 2012 20:09:46
Frazer Richardson could do a good job at right back for us but I'd prefer lichaj.Jordan spence looks good too, cud swap with obrien LOL.
Alan smith would be good upfront, not a midfielder but useful utility player n always was dangerous in and around the box winning ball upfield n bringing an attack out of nothing. No way Hughes would want him at qpr.
Not many centre backs out there available.kilgallon is quality but in first team now. Grayson said he agreed a deal with an international centre back down the pecking order at a premierteam but deal fell through after his chances got better after his club failed in a deal for a centre back that wud have pushed him further down pecking order.
Anyone know who this was ?

Believable1 Unbelievable3

Think it was Bassong of Spurs.

Agree2 Disagree0

There are loads it could be, could've been Dunne that went to villa, could've been evertons duffy could've been anyone but I'm sure grayson didn't identify them for a reason and that's probably because 1) he didn't try or couldn't decide who to sign
2) he is probs trying to sign them this window and hiding the name so no other clubs pounce and get him before we do

Agree1 Disagree0

Whats with the Smith crap again,he wouldnt bring anything to Leeds, hes had his time, hes no Henry is he,leave it be.

Neil Warnock was 7-1 last week to be next Leeds Manager, Yesterday he was 5-1, However TODAY He is just 4-1
Is something good happening that we don't know about YET ?? Gj

Believable1 Unbelievable3

How can that utter .... Warnock coming anywhere near Elland Road be construed as good. Are you a Leeds fan???

Agree3 Disagree0

Love him or hate him,he gets the job done as hes proved a few times, and hasnt spent much money either, knows how to build a team,Leeds needs a good clear out,hes the man to do it.

Agree1 Disagree0

He has no experience of keeping a team in the PL which is what we need, hes been relegated with Sheff United and wouldve been down at QPR aswell and we know it, Championship manager at best

Believable0 Unbelievable4

He's fat, and can't score in the Championship. we only need one Billy...

10 Jan 2012 19:01:56
If Leicester sign Billy Sharp, then Leeds will sign Jermaine Beckford on a 3 month loan deal (this is the only way he can play for us having been registered for 2 clubs already this season) could happen, as we've seen with henry back at arsenal and scholes back at stum!

Believable3 Unbelievable3

God i hope not. he thought he was bigger than club last time around. he was also very lazy. next there will be rumours that tresor is coming back

Is it or was bechio absoulty crap yesterday. If middlesbourgh are in trested I'll pack his bags

Believable4 Unbelievable6

Becchio may not have had a good game last night. but our manager has got to take the blame for that. his tactics all season have been crap. he cant attract anybody decent to club. on a whole its time for change mad larry is out of his depth our club is to big for him.

Agree1 Disagree1

So you would let go 1 to 3 million for him? Was at the game and he worked hard and held the ball up well, playing up front on his own against a lot of strong fast defenders. Kind of role that some people don't understand.....

Agree2 Disagree1

Can't believe how patronising ...Kind of role some people don't understand...for one I counted how many times he held the ball up and it was once in about the 70th minute when he held it ip nicely and passed it to a Leeds player.
I sympathise as he is not suited to that role at all. SG had very little choice on the night and although I have been critical of his tactics this season I think they were perfect for the Arsenal game.
Regardless of last years goals I'm not a great fan of Bechio deespite his workrate.
I for one wasn't at the game so had a better view than you!!

Agree0 Disagree1

10 Jan 2012 16:27:26
I may be wrong but i think the last time lees partnered o'dea at the back with lonergan behind them was the doncaster game when we were on form and keeping a few clean sheets. Back to that last night and looked solid again so hopefully a sign of things to come.

Believable7 Unbelievable0

Yeah I agree.

I just feel we would of had a better attacking presence last night with Mckormack playing ahead of lightweight Nunez.

MOT

Agree4 Disagree0

First post- you are right!
They switched lees from RB to centre and put Connolly in- who incidently sparked snoddy into life. However as injuries constantly changed the central pairing, Connolly got worse and worse too.
Regarding Beckford- I for one would like him back but it's a risk- he could be even more arrogant or perhaps his tail would be between his legs and he would concentrate on playing 'team' football.
It would blow all the budget and I think we need money spent elsewhere !

well done lads last night . great devensive display midfeid worked hard allso learn from the legend henry credit to the game true pro .if you all conduct yourself like him you will go a long way

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Is that the Henry who was hated by his team mates when he "bettered" himself and left? The Big Time Charlie who would not sign autographs and did not do press interviews unless a hefty fee was offered?

He was certainly a pro..............

not sying we are going to sign this player like every body else seems to do about people but the guy at posh zaquani ch seen him5 or 6 times now over the last 2 years there best player everytime ive seen him he can head the ball further than most players kick it . strong boy aswell worth a thought simmon but i am sure you have seen him anyway

Believable1 Unbelievable2

Average player in a very average team. Only player there worth an interest is Boyd. Reminds me of Prutton in many ways when he was at his best.

10 Jan 2012 12:43:00
hate that everyone is slating nunez, thought he did ok, some good passes, could have involved himself more but thats what happens when your played outta position, he is an attacking midfielder who playes in the hole, not on the wing. we get the best out of him in that position!

Believable4 Unbelievable2

I'm sorry, but he's just not up to it. To judge him on last nights game is harsh, as even a third string Arsenal side were too good for us. However, the games he has played this season with the exception of Bradford have been poor. He tried at home to Burnely, but he's not up to it. Squad player at the very best.

Agree3 Disagree2

He was out of his depth he was terrible what were you watching?

Agree5 Disagree1

He is not a winger yet Grayson doesn't play him in his position its the same as playing snoddy as a CM and saying he's awful give him the chance he deserves and hopefully he'll come good

Agree1 Disagree0

10 Jan 2012 12:31:55
if we had a proper right back and not played a centre midfielder there (Zac Thompson) Henry wouldn't have had the chance.......

Very happy with the performance though

Believable3 Unbelievable2

It was White who played Henry onside numpty. Thompson held the line, which is what he would have been told to do in training. If White stepped up like he should've then the chance wouldn't have been there! Can't fault Thompson who played excellent throughout!

Agree3 Disagree2

Happy with effort, performance was very poor! we barely had 35% of the possession. Gave the ball away far too easily, and lumped it forward at every chance.

Tis no wonder becchio / nunez etc had little chance... we didn't give them the ball.

I know beating arsenal at passing is a big ask but you are never going to win when you consistantly give the ball to any opponent, and then sit back and defend.

Bad tactics, and it's a pattern with simon grayson (go back and watch coventry game)...

Agree2 Disagree2

Originally hes a right back

Agree1 Disagree0

"Is was White who played him onside"

You muppet, it says in the news that Thompson played him on, and I was 50 yards from it, so check it out again (you proper leeds fan?) and come back to me

Agree1 Disagree1

Thompson is a right back ?

Agree1 Disagree1

From the angle i saw it was definatly white who played him on, thompson was in line with odea and lees

Agree0 Disagree2

Its not hard to work out henry was on the left, So would have been facing thompson.

Agree4 Disagree0

Henry was on the left, yes but on the other side of the penalty area White played him on. What relevance does it have saying that Thompson was facing him? This doesn't mean he was playing him on does it?!

Agree0 Disagree2

Thank you, someone with a brain. Henry was on the left, so logic tells you that our right back (Thompson) played him on......Whey hey, we got there

Agree3 Disagree0

I watched the game on ESPN and every replay shows the simple fact that White plays Henry on, television replays do not lie i'm afraid, White at fault

Agree1 Disagree1

10 Jan 2012 18:25:36
Yes I am a proper Leeds fan. Take a look at this clip then Mr Leeds Utd at about 1:58 you will see that it aint Thompson who plays Henry on. You probably couldn't see properly as you would have been getting giddy with excitement at Henry getting on the pitch. I presume you are Arsenal as you said you were only 50 yards from the incident and obviously not in the Leeds end.

Agree0 Disagree2

I was in the Arsenal end, alongside hundreds of Leeds fans because i couldnt get tickets in the Leeds end, so I made the effort to buy through arsenals ticket system. In the meantime, you (the armchair fan) were flicking between Eastenders and the Leeds game on ESPN. I certainly wouldn't get giddy about Henry coming on as he scored 12 in 12 games against us......

Also I have been to more Leeds games than you have ha hot dinners sunshine. Now get back to your armchair....... Coronation Street will be on soon.

Agree2 Disagree1

Watched the video, fact is, Thompson lost him.......

Agree4 Disagree1

I watched it live and thought we did ok but Grayson will be gone in 3 weeks

Agree1 Disagree2

Got to say it was indeed white playing him on side :)
" sunshine " lol you must be someones Grandad what next "sunny jim" hehehehe
MOT

Agree1 Disagree1

That's not the question is it? White was a yard behind the rest of the defence. You can hardly blame a 19 year old playing his 3rd game for losing Henry can you, you fool? Many better players have been made to look idiots by Henry in the past. Thompson is a star in the making and the future of LUFC, so look at his many positive attributes and stop slagging him off. no hoper's like you who can't run for last orders at the chippy make me sick! Go and support a moneybags team in the PL and leave real football to real fans!

Agree1 Disagree2

Half the people on this site didn't go because it was on a Monday e.g work commitments, I myself paid for ESPN solely for this game. Just because you went it doesn't give you the right to criticise us for not going simply because we pointed out you were wrong

Agree1 Disagree1

My grandad is 80 years old and he has been watching Leeds since he was a nipper. He dribbles, can't feed himself and don't know what day it is but being as he's most probably been to more games than you, that makes him more qualified than you does it? Your arguments make you sound like a school boy or a retard, either way White played him on!!
For the record I have been a season ticket holder for over 20 years starting back in Lowfields terracing.... will that do ya boy?!

Agree1 Disagree3

Haha, what a clown! Anyone who knows enough about football can see that white has dropped too far back from the defensive line Thompson, lees and odea are holding. It is irrelevant how many games you have been to, if my dog could have a season ticket and go to every game he still wouldn't become tactically aware, therefore you are a dog :)

Agree0 Disagree2

Ive been to more games blah blah blah you want a medal doesnt make you anymore a fan than anyone else , you are as interesting as an episode of one of thoose crap soaps,MOT ALL LEEDS FANS !

Agree0 Disagree1

If white was in line with rest ov defence henry would ov been offside so it wasnt thompson fault

One day before the 28 day period was due to end, Bates altered his offer to ensure it was not challenged. He altered the clause stating that if Leeds made the premiership in five years then the creditors would receive an extra 30p in the pound

I have been trying to push this to all leeds fans but no1 seems to open their blinkers see the reality or f***ing listen! Ken Bates is keeping leeds in a financially strong position and doing everything possible to keep us from being in the same position as what risdale put us, look at the statement above, the last year of that agreement is this season!now i dont know about anyone else but i have a feeling the lack of expenditure etc is to in a way prevent us from gaining promotion till next season, which i couldnt agree more with as look at the amount we would have to pay out if promoted this year! Yes you might want instant promotion, who doesnt? but the reality is to ensure we saty afloat we really could do with not going up this year!

And for the anti-larry personel, get a grip!

Rant over

Believable4 Unbelievable7

I suppose the 60million + windfall plus 10k extra season tickets won't cover 30p in the pound will it if we got promotion?

Agree6 Disagree0

You dont just get given a cheque for 60million u donkey! clearly have no understanding of the game! the whole "prize" money is paid in installments in a season based on tv appearances and sponsership and many other reasons! if u read it that says an EXTRA 30p in the pound to ALL creditors! considering we were owing nearly 40m to different creditors it still takes a large chunk out of then finances at elland road!

Agree2 Disagree3

Whether the extra income would cover it or not - Bates is not going to pay off someone else's debt out of that money when he can have it all for (himself) LEEDS - is he?

Would you pay someone else's debts off if you could avoid it by waiting 12 months?

Agree4 Disagree1

First you have to win promotion, easier said than done.

Agree3 Disagree0

If it IS correct that Leeds would already owe 40 Million to creditors should we go up this season, then that alone would give Bates the reason not to 'splash the cash' this year and go for it.

If Bates can 'write off' this 40 million pounds (of LEEDS money, not his own) then it makes sense, frustrating though it is.

Be nice to start building the basis of a good team to take the league by storm next year though?

After all these comeback "kings" Mark Viduka is set to sign a 1 year contract on a pay as you play deal.

Believable1 Unbelievable5

Mark Viduka? There's no denying he was a great striker for Leeds in his prime but he's probably about 25stone now and slower than an arthritic tortoise! Oh, hang on, that last bit sounds a bit like Billy Paynter....except a bit unkind to arthritic tortoises!

What about Lee Chapman.

What a great defensive display - especially when you consider the circumstances leading upto the game with walking wounded and doubtful defenders left right and centre.
I can't fault the team for effort - Arsenal were always going to show a gulf in quality but I'm so heartened by the bullish workrate and attitude by the team.
I can criticise on other days if need be but not on this one - Thanks lads(including SG who I have criticised this season). DID the shirt proud!!
