Fernan having another shot at the takeover :/ this could go on lonnnnnger

Believable0 Unbelievable0

We realy have to hope and pray that this chancer with no money does not get a sniff of leeds united, a Man U director ok, a first class traitor more like, fartman get out of our club,

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't actually mind Cellino coming in and carving the place up as long as we see progress. I will of course go immediately out and get the No 17 splashed all over a shirt just to make sure he knows who and where we are (Has a big hiccup with fear of the number 17)

Agree0 Disagree0

Does anybody wonder if a certain Mr Adler, fellow mancunian businessman is a part of this farnan consortium?!Doesnt take a tremendous leap of imagination does it, the bloke who has been fleecing us for best part of a decade. using the rent money to finance a takeover.
Foook off Farnan ad take your(our?) money with you.

Agree0 Disagree0

How do you really know for sure that the consortium has no cash??, you dont, all you have have is hearsay and what it has said in the press over the last few months.
How do you know how much Cellino plans to invest?
Farnam should be given a fair go even if it does slow the process down a touch, a little more time now would be beneficial if it meant getting the right man in on a longterm basis.
Sinnyboy

Agree0 Disagree0

Well for a start we don't have more time, GFH are sinking fast. Farnan has had more than enough time to prove his conviction, no sign of that or money, so run along sonny and let Mr Cellino do what he has always promised to do

Don't see anyone threatening to sue The Mail on Sunday.
Why on earth would Gfh borrow £1,000,000 from Master Bates.
Why would Master Bates lend £1,000,000 to Gfh Leeds United.
This needs looking into.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Actually I have never been happy with gfh buyout of bates, I'm worried about this, how involved are these Arabs with bates, How much do these Arabs owe bates, how many shares as bates in gfh, How come they didn't buy elland road when they said they would, Bates promised he would destroy leeds united I think he is still trying to do just that.

Agree0 Disagree0

According to KB he lent them the £1m back in March while he was still involved with the club and it has now been repaid and they currently owe him nothing.

So, Varney was delighted to get on the coach out of Leeds. can't he drive? See ya. Came on as a sub for Blackburn at the weekend and made an instant impact in keeping the score nil nil.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Good riddance 1 big lump of dead wood out 15 more to go .mot

Agree0 Disagree0

Varney is a pathetic player. He has to be the most underwhelming player to ever join leeds. He dives, slips over all the time, misses easy chances ( miss of the century) and collects yellow cards a lot more often then he scores. He is a player that would never stand out at any level whether it be league 2 or even conference. His only positive side is his work rate which even then is questionable. Mccormack has a high work rate and is always involved positively in attacking possession where as varney is never involved and is instead chasing his miscontrol of the ball

Agree0 Disagree0

A sulky little rubbish we're well rid of.

Can't Farnan accept defeat gracefully and s#d off!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Obviously not. They are now causing more harm than good! Time the consortiums did one!

I really like Byram.
Maybe he needs a few pounds but tough little cookie who will go far in soccer.
He reminds me a lot of Lee Bowyer.
Love it when he gets stuck in.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

10 Feb 2014 19:44:08
nowt like bowyer at all

Agree0 Disagree0

Byram & Bowyer = Chalk & Cheese and soccer is what Americans call it, we play football so are you American survivor?

Agree0 Disagree0

Actually, the word 'soccer' has its origins in English public school slang. The 'soc' part coming from association football as opposed to 'rugger'. Not so very American really.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sam is fine, what a fine young player, if revie was still here he would put his arm round his shoulder and protect him from everything, but since don ain't here, we the fans of lufc will do that.

Agree0 Disagree0

The reaction of Byram to giving away the pen against Yeovil showed the quality of the young man . Didn't rage at the ref, the player, hold his hands up in a ' who me' kinda gesture . Thumped the floor in frustration at his ( let's be fair) honest mistake, that he knew could've cost us the game . The boy is quality all round, will go a long way . Hope it's with us!

Couldnt we have swapped him for Robinson. I have a thing about wanting our old keepers back.

Oooooh, Carson.

I think I am the only Leeds fan who wants bmc out.

my reason being that we don't play very good football it's always hit and hope we should be trying to play the ball on the ground

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I would say we do try ang get it down and play it about, but its all about confidence, up until christmas we were playing ok. The only thing that matters at the moment is points, fighting every minute for a result. If we get on a run and the confidence builds, so will the performances

Agree0 Disagree0

10 Feb 2014 19:47:36
hes a good manager and we are getting wins . yes we had a bad patch but the way things have been off the field it understandable . been lacking in areas until a few week ago so hope we kick on now, could still do with another winger and a striker just to make sure we got enough to finish season with a push

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree, Bmac is poor, I would not let him spend LUFC money if it comes ---Wooton, Zulukas, Murphy, Hunt, hardly great buys

Just seen a report about Varney on the Beeb website. to be honest, I think it's poor behaviour.

Firstly, I don't beleive for a second the McDermott would stop playing him because he "may not get a new contract in the summer" - if he was the best player to play, he'd be getting games

Secondly, he may be on loan, but he is still technically a Leeds player, so outbursts about the club are totally unprofessional.

Shame really because whether he's good enough or not, he put in some solid performances last seasons when no one else was. I think the fans who have supported him and the other players through all this turmoil deserve better.

Good riddance I say.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Not sour grapes but he's no loss. The only time he's looked any good is when the rest were playing worse than him. couldn't trap a bag of cement!

Agree0 Disagree0

Happy he has gone to be honest. I saw him as a very average player, and we can sign much better than him.
However, Neil Warnock saw him as quality, a ready made replacemrnt for Snodgrass. I suppose it is all about opinions!

Agree0 Disagree0

Didnt Varney refuse to play against Ipswich? To be honest I fully expected this type of 'Sour Grapes' comment from him as soon as he left. Our gain is Blackburn's loss as they say!

Agree0 Disagree0

He was a pathetic player

Agree0 Disagree0

Just listened to it. Leeds was always to BIG a club for him.

Agree0 Disagree0

Any player, no matter how good he is that refuses to play, deserves the sack, same as a guy working for a pittance, would be sacked if he refused to do his job, if his contract cannot be cancelled for that, then there is something wrong with football in this country

Shock and horror.
Although Massimo will pass FL after his hearing Wednesday it will take quite a while to be officially ratified by FL.
So the ownership might take another 2 weeks to be completed.
Brian still has time to work a miracle.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

And hopefully will be allowed to bring in a couple of loan signings next week.

Agree0 Disagree0

Survivor, as it is a "Self Certification" test if at hearing Football League don't raise any more queries or doubts then does it need Football League ratification before complete deal? I remember somebody said that once all information has been seen by Football League and no queries raised then approval can be assumed. The Football League tell you quickly if it isn't approved or they need more information.

Says that Chelsea want to send out Thorgan Hazard to an english club on loan to speed up his development. Now Varney has gone a space remains now. Could you imagine if we signed this lad and the damage he would do in this league. Come on Cellino, get your money out.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Who is he? I thought he was the God of Thunder?

Agree0 Disagree0

Eden's brother suppose to be gaining some respect

Agree0 Disagree0

Thought he was out tearing up one of the european leagues? Eredivisie?

Agree0 Disagree0

Think it was the Austrian league he getting some serious respect in, to be fair if Chelsea are only loaning him out he must have potential.

Agree0 Disagree0

Belgian league at zulte waregam. Getting a fair few goals and assists. he's even been setting Habibou up for goals.

I am struggling to understand the benefit of loaning out both Green and Varney to clubs that are pushing for play off spots. Financially, I understand if you are not playing players (or in Varney's case refusing to play) then there is no point having them on the wage costs. However, unless we are replacing them with better loan players during the emergency window I fail to see the short term benefit to the squad. If we have injuries, suspensions, fatigue to the current first eleven we are relying on Tonge and Brown in midfield and Smith, Hunt and Poleon up front as backup. Although with the current squad we would punching above our weight to make the playoff, despite our poor run of form we are only 5 points off 6th with a game in hand.

I'd agree on Varney as he was best cover we had, unless he's got a replacement lined up, but Green has had no game time and doesn't seem to fit in with big macs plan.

Agree0 Disagree0

Varney does not want to play for us, so let him go, he did try but only 9 goals in 50 odd games for us think so no great loss.

Green not fit really and sure we will replace with better quality loan types with our new? Italian money man.

DG the voice of reason?

Agree0 Disagree0

Varney was our cover however I think BMD will push forward Hunt, now he is fully fit, with Smith and Poleon that's 4 to chose from, for one poition (we now play 1 upfront).

Green, don't see the problem. hasn't played much and wasnt even getting on the bench, so of no real threat.

With regards to playoff candidates, if we don't win the games against the guys above us then we won't be anywhere near. We have Reading, Burnley, QPR and Brighton coming up. to have any chance, we need results against these guys.

As they would say, Its all in our own hands.

Agree0 Disagree0

Conversley I would say that it makes perfect sense to loan these two out to rival clubs as they are absolute pants

Anyone some concrete (ish) figures regarding Cellino's net worth? given the sale of Cagliari for 50million it makes his intentions to commit to us pretty clear - including his promise to repurcahse Elland Road. but some numbers regarding just how many reddies he has behind me might give us a better indication as to just how on board he is

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I've seen on hear he has a net worth of 1.3 billion and his family is worth more. If this is the case and he's truely committed to getting us back to our former glories (and he knows that that means top 6 at least and europe) then he needs to spend a fair chunk of that to get us there. Again, if he's serious about getting us there then I can't wait to see this guy give it a shot!

MOT

Agree0 Disagree0

He is reported to have a net worth of about 800million and his family around 1.3 billion

As its a banter site, I'll say 48p.
