It has been said that we need a midfield commander. Someone who may have lost a little bit of pace with advancing years but compensates by speed of thought and eye for the killer pass. Someone to shepherd the young guns around him.
I am thinking anyone warming a premier league bench (or maybe cannot even get on the bench) Does anyone have any names. Can I start of the list with the name of Joe Cole?
(If only Strachan was a couple of years younger eh)

Think Salerno is right about us needing a midfielder someone like Batty, Bowyer or Bremner, Someone with an engine and a mean streak, Don't think many teams will be scared of playing against our midfield at the moment good as it is, Still think Adryan, Cook, Sloth and Dawson should be used alternately especially now we have FA cup games as well, Not so sure about needing another striker just yet would prefer experienced cover for Warnock.Not sure how this embargo works can we sign players if we get rid of some or are we just not allowed to sign anyone,

We won't be able to sign anyone in the january window, so don't put any names forward. Its a waste of time as we'll have a transfer embargo

Bige, are you kidding me about not needing a striker? We discovered Sharp isn't good enough anymore. Aunty Lucy and Dukes have done well but they need cover urgently. The imminent transfer embargo makes the whole conversation moot anyway.

If we cannot sign anyone, why is Salerno stating his intentions? Surely he'd have a heads up if he was restricted. If we are embargoed, we still have Sloth and Montenegro in offensive positions and Del Fabro is a defensive option. For me we need a striker to challenge Doukara, an experienced midfielder to replace one of the youngsters and a winger for a plan b

George Ant and Duks are scoring every game and the defence look like they don't know what they are doing at times. Agree with smitch we need an experienced midfielder but one who knows how to cover when full backs are out of position. Monty can play out wide not blistering pace but an option in place of duks for some games. If we could get a top class striker get him but don't think money is there yet to pay for one. Maybe best signing would be someone to work with defence.

Why not give one of the yoof a chance? Stokes, Parkin and Mulhern seem to be scoring loads and then there's Brian M as well to come in.
