So now that Neil Warnock has wreaked havoc with the footballing side of our club, with danny wilson getting the sack, the path is clear for his return to his beloved Sheff Utd

Believable10 Unbelievable0

Apparently Danny Wilson is coming our way.

Thank heavens Neil Redfearn got Poleon back.

I just wish we could here some statement from our once great club which manager they would like. plesse give us a clue

Believable10 Unbelievable0

Heres a statement for ya, Warnock now 2/1to take over at Sheff Utd, so he could help take them up afterdoing his best to take us down, he said he would leave when it was impossible for us to go up, a right manager would also have said Ill go now when were safe, he did a fantastic job though didn't he, well according to him, all I can say is come on Leeds, don't give him the satisfaction of seeing us go down.

Mcdermott in gfh out new investers spend spend spend. believe me, remember my name

A few points I would like to make.

First of all I hear of uncertainty of the clubs ownership etc.
Rubbish.
Leeds United are owned and in good hands of a very proffessional worldwide firm called Gulf Finance House Capital.
They are an investment bank.
Experts in their field, garnered success and good reputation in the business world.
Since arriving at the club, they have made it clear they plan to seek investment, from various companies.
Already started the longterm process in selling ten percent of the club to another wealthy organisation, International Investment Bank. With the Owner of that company now a valuable Board member of Leeds United fc joining Patel, Haigh and Alrayes from gfhc.
this won't be the last, Gfh will sell more percentages in the club, and the owners of them will join the board of Leeds United too.
A few years down the line Leeds United will be owned by about 5 different companies, all wealthy and all in it for monetary profit.
In order to gain monetary profit the club will need to be succesful on the pitch.
The club is owned by two INVESTMENT banks. They INVEST into business in order to make that business a success. These guys are experts, and will have a 5 year plan. It will not happen overnight, choosing a new manager won't happen over night, These are big Decisions that the whole board of directors and chairman will have a say in.
The club is been run properly, and ran in a modern way.
Haigh, Patel and Alrayes do not sit in an office talking about Leeds United. They are travelling the world earning money, liasing with clients and working full time for GFH, Leeds United is run by a Cheif Executive. Mr Shaun Harvey. For me, this guy does not know what he is doing and he is out of his depth, However I do feel GFH will appoint a new Cheif Exec when they appoint the new chairman at the end of the season. This is what they have said all along. for those of you who don't listen and constantly moan in bewilderment.
Tho I don't blame you after the reign of the tyrant Bates.
So my first point been made, The club is NOT unstable at the top, its just we as fans are not privvy to the boardroom. The boardrooms plans are private and we have no right to constantly moan every week. "we want to know your plans. tell us. your not answering you must be selling up" how annoying would that be if you were manager of a company and all your employers, or should I say customers want to know what was said in the boardroom and your plans for the company? None of your Business! Keep your NEB OUT! When there's something to tell, Gfh have been quite open with the fans and announced it on the website. they've even set up a twitter account and account, and along with their own private accounts they even talk to the fans! Not many Owners do that!

First point made (Club is in good hands, stop worrying!)

Second and final point, The Manager.

Its obvious to anyone looking in the team needs a new direction on the field. The youth academy is looking great, Redfearn and Naylor are looking a good team.
Its the First Team and coaching staff that needs sorting.
But the Board won't be looking at the players, its not their job, they just need to evaluate now the best options for a manager.

Roberto Di Matteo - A club in the championship would do very well to land Di Matteo after his success at Chelsea, and West Brom. If they attracted this guy to the club then i'd be amazed.

Gus Poyet - he's not achieved anything in management yet but he has shown for the past two seasons that he is a capable manager at Brighton. If Brighton get promotion, We have no chance of landing him. If they dont, Gfh have to pay a hefty compensation package and would do well to attract Gus from a team he has put together, would he really want to leave Brighton? Or Would he relish the chance of building a whole new team at Leeds? God knows but he would be a great appointment.

Sam Allardyce - Out of contract in the summer. A succesful manager, a lot of players speak highly of him, but do Leeds fans want more hoofball next season? I rate him a lot more higher than Warnock but I don't think he would take a job in the championship at his age. i'd be suprised. Would not excite me as a fan this appointment, Leeds fans want entertainment now, Eddie Gray summed it up against Charlton "either if we had won today i'd have still been dissapointed in the way we played!" haha, I think he speaks for all of us their.

David O'Leary - It would take a brave action on Olearys part to hand his c. v in! It would also be a huge gamble for GFH, but if Oleary hands his c. v in and wants the challenge, Wow, what you get is a hungry manager who will have to deliver, the pressure would be immense based on his success at the club in the past, Oleary was a great coach under Graham, and a great manager for Leeds united. Nobody can deny that. He was given unlimited funds by a farcicle chairman who ended up taking the club under after oleary was sacked unfairly. Did oleary overspend? Well 15m was spent on average per season he was in charge. For me, that's not overspending. Transfer funds are to be spent. God knows how risdale couldn't fund 15m per season for a top 4 team I do not know.
Di matteo, poyet would be my first choice targets, But i'd welcome David O'Leary back to the club. If he hands his c. v in I would take my hat off to him.

Gianfranco Zola - If watford don't get promoted we should go all out to get this guy, Watford are playing the best attractive football in the division, however he has had to bring the players in from Italy. wish they were wearing the Leeds shirts tho. would be very unlikely he would come to Leeds given his relationship with the Italian owners of Watford. (more owners who have kept quiet and just got on with the job).

Other managers we have been linked with,

McDermott, hughes, southgate? Not for me at all.

Dominic Matteo, Lucas Radebe, Jamie Carragher?
No experience, would you really appoint them over Redfearn? Ok for a coaching role or assistant but cheesey peas this is too big a job for these guys. Even Warnock couldn't handle it.

A few things I wanted to say, feel free to criticise my opinions and comment.
Thanks.
Marc

A few points

Agree7 Disagree0

Can you elaborate a bit?

Agree12 Disagree0

Good thought out post.
I think gfh are looking for poyet as their no 1 target.
IF brighton don't go up, then I think they will negotiate a reduced comp package with Brighton and I think Gus will see a much bigger potential at Leeds, and will come if given a reasonable budget.
but just my opinion :)

Agree5 Disagree3

Excellent post marc and some excellent and interesting points but that would've taken me a lifetime to write with my one finger.

Agree3 Disagree1

At present just want maximum points from our next 2 home games.

Agree6 Disagree1

How could some one disagree with wanting 6 points from the Wednesday/ Burnley games, without championship survival the Origanal post is immaterial.

Agree5 Disagree0

Marc is speaking rubbish as usual, Danny Wilson has left the mighty to take over the huge Leeds.
We are on the up now.
Finally.

A Matteo double?

Di Matteo as number 1 with Matteo as his No. 2?

Believable0 Unbelievable12

If and its a big if we get Di Matteo he would bring in his own backroom lads in just hope our wonderfull board do it quickly not half way through summer

Agree3 Disagree0

Think we tried that with a couple of Warnock's

And after we get some success the crowd will be singing 'there's only 2 Matteos, 2 Matteos, there's only 2 Matteos!!

Leeds need to get a decent manager and a decent director of football in and clear all the club staff out starting the end of the season and get decent coaches and scouts in and do some serious scouting around Europe and south America and get rid of all these old guys who are bleeding the club and get up and coming tallents get people who will give every ounce for the Leeds shirt instead of people who only care about money and build bridges with the elite clubs in the world so we can get decent players on loan from barca and real Madrid

Believable6 Unbelievable2

How about we worry about Leeds based players first and foremost? Then work from there?

We all know how capable we are of bringing through youth players.

Bad results for us last night - injury time is no friend of ours. Quite concerned about relegation now. Haven't really looked at the fixtures for the other relegation candidates but at the moment they don't seem to be playing each but are getting results from the top half of the table teams.
I can't see us getting anything at all on saturday. The Wednesday manager won't have to get his team fired up - we did that for them at Hillsborough. Our team seem lacklustre as most of them have been in unsuccessful relegation battles and lack a bit of spirit. We might score but they will get at least two. We might get something against Burnley but it will be very difficult. As for Birmingham, Brighton, and Watford - No chance. I will be cheering the lads on as usual on Saturday and beyond but realistically I think we are in the hands of the other teams at the bottom end. Bristol City is the only certainty as far as I can see. I hope I am completely wrong but I have harboured doubts ever since Warnock was appointed. Both he and Bates have no love of Leeds. I will never forget Warnock gloating when we were relegated the last time!

10 Apr 2013 10:14:45
Come on! let's try and be positive. Admittedly the season has been poor and now we are in a relegation battle but let's get behind the team on saturday and give them the push they need to beat Sheff Weds!. We've been through worse!

Agree2 Disagree2

" Bristol City is the only certainty as far as I can see"

If Bristol City WON their last 5 games and we LOSE ours then they finish ABOVE us.

So how is their relegation a certainty at this time?

Agree2 Disagree4

OP here. 'Bristol City is the only certainty - I can hope for just now'. Is that better? Thought I was been pessimistic - nice to know there is someone worse than me!

Agree3 Disagree0

I am still pessimistic, but I know nothing is 'certain' just yet.

In theory we could mathematically reach a play off place still - how pessimistic is that?

We all know it's not going to happen though.

10 mill for Byram. Cash in! Good young player but that kind of money could go a long way towards promotion if spent wisely. I expect negative comments but if you think about it we can't have another season like this one and 10 mill with the right manager should guarantee promotion in an average league.

Believable2 Unbelievable13

If we 'cash in' it won't go on players it will go into their company funds before they sell the club on.

Agree6 Disagree3

What promotion back to the championship

"10 mill for Byram. Cash in!"

Thank you, Mr Bates, we'd rather keep him than give you the money.

If Austin is to play in defense, expect a penalty and a sending off.

Believable19 Unbelievable5

Will make a change from it being Brown though! MOT! White4Life.

Agree8 Disagree1

I think center bk or defensive mid is austins best position, he's a strong tackler and breaks play up well, he cnt see a pass though or shoot. So at the back I think he will be good

Agree3 Disagree1

"Will make a change from it being Brown though!"

Only because Brown won't (thankfully) be on the pitch!

Agree3 Disagree0

He has lots of experience as central defender from norwegian Brann, and I've watched him live in this position at least twenty times. Most of time strong and in controle, but in every match a couple of situations when caught out of position, making terrible judgements or headless tackles. Brann hardly ever had clean sheets with Rudy in central defence - but hardly ever clean sheets without him neither. But may be good business to put some money on penalty against us in this match.

Agree0 Disagree0

This is one of the worst posts i've seen on these boards.

What a terrible attitude.

Agree2 Disagree9

Maybe Brown and Austin off. JD

Agree1 Disagree1

Brown for England.

Tonge for the Bin

To 5th reply, if this is one of the worst posts you have seen then crawl back under your rock, this is mild and possibly realistic in comparison to some. Oh have you been listening to what the previous manager has had to say over the last 14 months?

bit worrying. sheff weds, millwall, charlton. peterborough, barnsley and wolves
they are all doing something we are not and that's picking up points. not many points but more than us that's for sure.
bristol city down i'm sure but I suggest the players get off there backsides and get us at least 2 wins to be sure.
sheff weds will not be easy and I wouldn't put too much on a home win in our form.
if anything the players need to show some form to other clubs as most should be looking at going somewhere else in the summer because they are not good enough for us. shrew leeds

Believable0 Unbelievable0

We should be ok. Win this weekend and we are pretty safe. Hudders have to play Blackburn wolves Bristol city and millwall. So plenty of points to be taken off each other

Blackburn playing hudders obviously and then Derby Watford and Palace in the mix too. Hard games

can anyone at gfh speak english, why can't they show some leadership and let us all know what the hell is happening to our club, surley they must know we are now in a relegation dog fight, for christ sake do something about it before its becomes a bloody disaster, redfern does not want to be in charge so bring in a manager to save our season I for one can't imagin what league 1 football would do for the future of our club

Believable11 Unbelievable2

But no GOOD manager wants to take us now as they don't wanna be in league 1 if they can't save us. which means if we jump at a manager we will get some reject like we have had for last 6 years! which means next season will be the same as this. I like the fact there holding on to get the right man, instead of jumping! people need to chill out, leeds fans expect to much to quick. MOT

Agree4 Disagree1

Fair point but we do expect to stay up

10 Apr 2013 07:27:57
Said on here while back everybody had given up and we would finish 18th! I wish. Scoops, you sticking with 12th?
The only way we will get points is to drop 80% of team that has been playing. Give devolement squad and youngsters ago. It can't get worse, this current team can't win. can't even hold a draw. They don't deserve anymore games. It is looking gloomy.

Believable6 Unbelievable0

It would take someone with massive b****s to throw the youth and development players in now it could be very damaging for their careers not to mention the future of Leeds United as a football club, its a big gamble would you take it?

Agree4 Disagree1

Yep. Look at what the alternative are doing. Losing. That is. Say to the dev and youngsters. Go for it, no pressure

10 Apr 2013 19:39:52
Hi Ausman, yes I am going to stick my neck out and stick with 12th (Eternal Optimist) but I do think we need to radically change the team. Redders said last week that the experienced pro's will have to dig us out but that ain't happening is it! My team for Saturday would be
Ashdown
Zac Thompson Austin Pearce Warnock

Byram Green Dawson Hall

Poleon McCormack

A good blend of youth and experience and a bit of pace. Show some balls and stick with this team for the rest of the season.

Well Ausman perhaps you're the man for the job, you must have b******S the size of a donkey.

1 month ago we was still thinking a chance of playoff now there's only 1 thought in my mind and that's relegation. The only good thing is there's teams below us doing just as bad but there's also teams below that are putting in a lot more effort than what we are putting in.
