I have to say that I admire/agree with MC in terms of pulling out of the Forestieri thing, he is a decent player but if he doesn't really want to come then it is prob not going to work in the long term.

If they did pull out of the deal on Tuesday then that shows clear thinking on our transfer strategy and gives us enough time to get others in (that dutch winger/forward seems idea for us as scores loads and provides assists with pace).

When was the last time we had clear thinking or a strategy in terms of bring people in? (and I don't mean just a strategy of bringing in free transfers- that ain't a strategy) I think its a good sign for the club, even if we lose tomorrow we seem to be on the right track, it is a long season (mind you a win sooner rather than later would be good, hard to see that at Derby were we have got nothing since, I dunno the war of the roses?).

The fact that the official site told us first is a rare event as well long may that happen.

agree with everything here, last time we seemed to have a strategy in terms of buying players was under wilko just before he got sacked (he brought in Martyn, radebe, boywer plus few others that future managers got the benifit of) Gary Mac and grayson also brought in good players but it was more buying because needed rather than long term strategy.

Also I looked it up last time we beat derby was the saturday before magna carter was signed so think we will get beat tomorrow but still on right track and looking forward.

On a seperate note, I got a casting for a yorkshire rugby player on wednesday and the script says mate but I am pretty sure mate is a london word and men from yorkshire are more likely to say pal. this is only from my northern family (through my step dad) and time spent in leeds (football) and Blackpool (2nd best city in the world. no universe) so wondered if this is accurate or just my family as don't want to mug myself on wednesday?

In true Yorkshire, they'd probably say 'love' 😃

never knew that about mate, very interesting although my granddad (a notrious criminal) said aussie were just the cockney wrong uns who got caught so slightly claiming mate as a london word from our tanned cousin from down under.

Thanks Speedy though in this audition I have to play a rugby player, tackle a bloke chuck his phone away so not sure calling him love would work. Might give it a go though
