I was initially disappointed with the appointment of Hecky because he was not a "name" however I have reflected on this and listened to his latest comments. We do not necessary need a "name", we do not need a big ego, we do not need someone on there last hurrah looking for a pay day to top up their retirement fund. What we need is someone who knows English football and this division, someone who has the principles of wanting to play aggressive attacking football, someone who is straight talking and is not afraid to pull up players who are not giving 100%. That could be Hecky. Yes, his record in the division this season is not great but let's be honest Barnsley have a poor squad and every decent player he has had in the past couple of seasons has been sold off. Last season they were flirting with the play offs until their board ripped his team apart in January. We need to give this guy a chance as I am 100% confident that he will not spend 15 minutes procrastinating if the opposition bring on a dangerous substitute that everyone but previous manager know will carry a threat, he will not pander to the likes of Kemar Roofe if he comes to the sidelines complaining that he is tired when we are down to 10 men with no striking replacements available, he will not tell everyone that a new signing is injured just because he hasn't spent a week on the training pitch with him. Hecky may not make all the right decisions but I don't believe that he will cock up the job on purpose because he does not like Leeds. In fact, I really do not care if he supports Leeds at all as long as he is professional in his job.

great post agree 100%, when was the last time we employed an actor who was in work and not unemployed and on the scrap heap? when was the last time we hired a manager that the club we took the manager from was gutted to lose him, they only just signed him on a new deal as they were happy with job he was doing, honestly can't think last time we got a manager like that. really pleased! And he'd turned down forest and sunderland but couldn't say no to leeds despite just signing a new contract. He wants this job.
